Scam-accused Karti Chidambaram shares fake image to target PM Modi cleaning Mamallapuram beach

The Congress party seems to be unhappy about the informal summit between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping as they are now attempting to discredit the Narendra Modi government by indulging in fake propaganda to discredit the event.

After Shashi Tharoor posted a photoshopped image on Twitter, it was now multi-crore scam accused Karti Chidamabaram’s turn to further his propaganda, who tried to take a dig at PM Modi by tweeting a misleading image to target PM Modi for ‘plogging’ at a beach in Mamallapuram.

On Sunday, the scam-accused Karti Chidambaram posted an image on his Twitter account which showed an image of videographers shooting an event. The next two images showed Prime Minister Modi’s recent leisurely walk on a Mamallapuram beach, where he picked up trash that was strewn on the picturesque beach.

The Sivaganga MP also tried to mock PM Modi by tweeting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ on his Twitter post. He suggested that while PM Modi was followed by a large camera crew to video record him picking up garbage at the beach.

Congress spokesperson and Supreme Court lawyer Brijesh Kalappa also posted the same image of the camera crew to claim that they were shooting PM Modi on the beach.

But actually, the first image shared by Karti Chidamabaram in which some video and photojournalists recording an event at a beach is seen is nowhere connected to PM Modi’s Mamallapuram event. The image was taken from a PR website called Tayscreen. The firm produces films and videos for advertisement and promotional activities, and the image is a still photo from such a shoot.

By tweeting these unrelated images, Karti Chidamabaram resorted to fake propaganda to insinuate that the PM Modi’s beach ‘plogging’ event was actually staged.

Earlier in the day, senior Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor had also resorted to similar propaganda after he had deliberately shared a photoshopped image of Times of India headline mocking the informal summit. The headline read, “Modi, Xi will mate 6 times in 24 hours”.

Karti Chidambaram is currently facing investigation in a number of cases including money laundering and having undisclosed foreign assets. He has been charged in cases like INX Media case and Aircel Maxis case and is facing probe from the central agencies. His father P Chidambaram has also been facing an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Aircel Maxis case.
