On Wednesday (June 9), former union minister and Congress leader from Uttar Pradesh, Jitin Prasada called it quits and joined BJP at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Before reaching the BJP headquarters, he met Railway Minister Piyush Goyal at his residence, and from there both of them went to meet home minister Amit Shah. Piyush Goyal formal welcomed Prasada to BJP at 1.20 PM today. The development comes ahead of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislative elections that are scheduled to be held next year.

The 47-year-old Jitin Prasada was once a close aide to Congress dynast Rahul Gandhi. Interestingly, he was part of the ‘G-23′ group which wrote to Sonia Gandhi in 2020 asking for in-party reforms. His exit from the grand-old party makes him the second influential Congress leader to desert the party after Jyotiraditya Scindia. Prior to defecting to the BJP, Jitin Prasada was appointed as the General Secretary of All India Congress Committee for the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee. He was also the Minister of State for Steel (2008-2009), Petroleum and Natural Gas (2009-2011), Road Transport and Highways (2011-2012), and HRD (2012-2014) under the UPA-II government. Jitin Prasada as seen as the Brahmin face of the party in UP.
His disillusionment with the party became evident when he slammed the Congress party for forging an alliance with the Left and the Islamist Indian Secular Front (ISF). On March 1, Jitin Prasada had tweeted, “Alliance decisions are taken keeping in mind the best interests of the party and the workers. Now is the time for everyone to join hands and work towards strengthening the prospects of the Congress in the poll bound states.”

However, it soon reverts to gender-neutral wording later in the paragraph. The paragraph said, “Biden’s budget would allocate over $200 million in funding to help end this high rate of maternal mortality and race-based disparities in outcomes among birthing people.”

The term “birthing people” was used in Biden’s budget proposal after elected officials, such as Democratic Missouri representative Cori Bush, were slammed by conservatives for referring to Black mothers as “Black birthing people” surrounding a House Oversight Committee hearing on black maternal health.
Bush received support from the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League, a pro-abortion non-profit organization who in a statement said, “…it’s not just cis-gender women that can get pregnant and give birth. Reproductive freedom is for every body.”

We had reported in February how a similar movement emerged in England where the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust had decided to be more ‘gender-inclusive’ to respect ‘trans and non-binary birthing people’.

Questioning the arbitrary functioning of big-tech companies like Twitter, the Former US President asked, “Who are they to dictate good and evil if they themselves are evil?”.

The statement of support from Trump comes days after Nigeria suspended Twitter indefinitely last Friday after the micro-blogging site began to interfere in the domestic affairs of the West African country.
It is important to note that Donald Trump himself has received a permanent ban from Twitter following the riots at the US Capitol on January 6 this year. On Friday, Facebook announced that the former President would be banned from the platform for two years, at least till January 7, 2023.
Trump had reacted to the Facebook ban and had termed it “an insult to the record-setting 75M people, plus many others, who voted for us in the 2020 Rigged Presidential Election.”
Nigeria indefinitely suspends Twitter
Last week, the Nigerian government announced that it has indefinitely suspended Twitter’s activities. The move came two after Twitter had deleted a Tweet by president Muhammadu Buhari warning against secessionist movements.
The social media giant had deleted a tweet by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari claiming that the tweet had threatened secessionist groups in the Biafra region.
“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War,” Buhari had tweeted, referring to the Biafra Conflict, which killed 1 million people between 1967 and 1970.
“Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand,” the tweet read.
In addition to deleting the tweet for violating its “abusive behavior’ policy, Twitter had brazenly suspended Buhari’s account for 12 hours.
Following the suspension of Buhari’s account, Nigeria Information Minister Lai Mohammed had acted swiftly to indefinitely suspend Twitter’s activities in the country.
“Twitter may have its own rules, it’s not the universal rule. If Mr. President, anywhere in the world feels very bad and concerned about a situation, he is free to express such views…We have a country to rule, and we will do so to the best of our ability. Twitter’s mission in Nigeria is very suspect, they have an agenda. The mission of Twitter in Nigeria is very suspicious,” the Nigerian minister had said after suspending Twitter’s operation in the country.
A remote hamlet in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir has become the first village in the country to vaccinate all its adult population against the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the reports, Weyan village in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has become the first village to complete 100 percent vaccination for its adult population. The officials said that vaccination in Weyan village was covered under the Jammu and Kashmir model, a 10-point agenda to vaccinate eligible people with shots at a faster pace.
“Weyan, a village in district Bandipora (J&K) has become the first village in the country, where the entire population above 18 years has been vaccinated,” the official Twitter account of PIB, Jammu and Kashmir said in a tweet.

The Union territory has achieved 70 per cent vaccination for those in the 45+ age group despite the initial vaccine hesitancy, which is almost double the national average.
Due to the difficult terrain of the area, the health officials had to walk 18 kms on foot to reach the village. The village is located only 28 kilometres away from Bandipora district headquarters and there is no motorable road, another official of the health department said.
Bashir Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora said that there is no internet access in the village. Hence, it was not possible for the residents to get appointments for vaccination like the way people in urban areas do, he added.
A total of 362 beneficiaries in the village received the vaccine making it the first village in the country to be fully vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.
On Tuesday (June 8), the Pakistan government dismissed the proposal of the state-owned Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) to partner with an Indian broadcaster to telecast the upcoming cricket series against England.
In a press conference, IT Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the federal cabinet was requested to approve the proposal but it was turned down. “Pakistan cannot undertake a partnership with any Indian company and our ties with the neighbouring country is subject to India reverting its Aug 5, 2019 decision (abrogating Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir),” he said.
Chaudhry informed that the Pakistani government would approach the England Cricket Board (ECB) and other foreign companies such as SKY to resolve the issue.

The IT Minister added that the broadcasting rights have been reserved by Indian companies such as Star and Sony in South Asia. “Normalisation of ties with India is subject to it taking back the August 5 decision,” he said. Fawad Chaudhry also conceded that the PTV and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would suffer losses due to such a decision. As such, it remains unclear whether the upcoming series with England will be telecast at all in the country.

The Pakistani citizens were miffed by the decision. One Tanweer Abbas wrote, “This is such a ridiculous stance. We pay Indian media companies to broadcast PSL & our home series but we won’t buy production rights from Indian companies. U-Turn coming soon I suspect.”

An 80-year-old woman died after a former security guard posed as a doctor and performed a surgery at the Mayo hospital in Lahore.
The victim, Shameema Begum, died on Sunday this week, a fortnight after she was operated on by ex-guard Muhammad Waheed Butt for the treatment of her back wound.
An administrative official of the hospital, who wished to remain anonymous, defended the hospital’s lapse, saying that they could not keep a tab on what every doctor is up to at all times. “We can’t keep up with what every doctor and what everyone is doing at all times. It’s a large hospital,” the administration official explained.
He also said that it is unclear as of now as to what type of surgery was performed by the pretender, where a qualified technician was also present.
Nevertheless, the entire episode has brought to fore the pervasive negligence of hospital authorities in Pakistan, especially that of public hospitals.
Begum’s family had already paid for her operation, along with two home visits to dress her wound. But when the bleeding and pain exacerbated, she was returned to the hospital, where they discovered that Begum was operated on by an imposter pretending to be a doctor.
Her body was later sent for autopsy to determine if the cause of the death was a result of complications from the botched surgery.
According to AFP News, which quoted Lahore police spokesman Ali Safdar, the guard has been charged and is in police custody. “Butt had posed as a doctor and made home visits to other patients in the past also,” Safdar said.
The hospital staff claim Butt was sacked two years ago for trying to extort money from the patients.
Past incidents of imposters posing as doctors in Pakistani hospitals
However, this is not the first time that miscreants presented themselves as doctors and carried out criminal activities. Last month, a man was arrested for posing as a doctor at Lahore General Hospital and extorting money from patients in the surgical ward.
Five years back, in 2016, it was discovered that a woman imposter posing to be a neurosurgeon conducted surgeries on patients for eight months alongside qualified doctors at Lahore’s Services Hospital, the second-largest health facility in Pakistan.
On June 5, a committee of village clerics and scholars of Raz -e-Muhammad Mustafa of Khempur village at Swar Tehsil in Rampur district, Uttar Pradesh, announced that a Nikah would not be solemnised if the ceremonies include fireworks, DJ, dance and dowry. The resolution was adopted during the committee’s meeting. They announced after the Friday prayers to inform the Muslims in the area.
DJ is un-Islamic
The committee said that DJ dance parties and dowry are un-Islamic. They further added that if any family violated the resolution regarding weddings, the clerics would not perform even funeral prayers for the family in future. While talking to Times of India, Niyaz Ahmad, Chairman, Raz -e-Muhammad Mustafa, said Muslim girls are not getting a suitable match due to the ever-increasing demand for dowry.
AIMPLB’s new Nikahnama
In March 2021, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board had released a new Nikahnama for the Muslims in the country that banned series of ceremonies. The 11-point Nikahnama restricted the Muslim community from having ceremonies like Manjha (Haldi ceremony) and other “un-Islamic” traditions like marriage procession, DJ, dancing, fireworks and dowry. Maulana Rabe Hasan Nadvi, Chairman, AIMPLB, urged the community members to solemnise Nikah at mosques instead of marriage halls.
Fatwas against ceremonies
In March this year, it was reported that a fatwa was issued by a senior mufti of the Dargah-e-Ala Hazrat in Bareilly, which said that it was against Shariat for male and females to eat food together at weddings. The fatwa said that organisers should maintain a difference between mahram (close relatives) and non-mahrams. It also noted that DJs, music, dance and fireworks during wedding ceremonies are un-Islamic.
In April, Markazi Sunni Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Mirzapur, announced that they would not solemnise Muslim marriages if music, dance and DJ were part of the ceremonies as they are un-Islamic. The body also restrained Muslims from demanding dowry. Mufti Abdul Khalik said, “A movement has started in Mirzapur against dowry seekers and those who eat while standing up.”
‘Don’t attend weddings without Hijab’
Earlier, it was reported that a Muslim organisation, Tehreekhe Tahfuje Sunniyat, led by Sajjadanshin Mufti Ahsan Raza Qadri, in Bareilly had started a campaign in the city, discouraging Muslims from attending Nikah that is attended by women without full-face coverings like burqa and niqab terming it as unIslamic. It also said that people should boycott weddings where the female guests freely mingle with unknown men. The seminary also asserted that wedding where guests are expected to eat food while standing should be boycotted.
The Darul Uloom Deoband, one of the most powerful Muslim organisations in the country, has issued numerous Fatwas against DJ, dance and music at wedding ceremonies, calling them Un-Islamic. They also have Fatwas for Muslim women against sharing their photographs and selfies without niqab on social media. Other restrictions include not allowing shopkeepers to help when trying new bangles, because s stranger touching a woman’s hands is ‘haram’.
It is notable here that many Islamic fundamentalist leaders and organisations have spoken against music and dance, calling it ‘un-Islamic’. Radical Islamist Zakir Naik is also vocal against music, asserting that it is forbidden in ‘Shariat’. Recently in Noorpur, Dalits were assaulted by a violent Muslim mob, enraged over music being played near mosque and wedding processions.
For most of us, it all started in 2013 when Narendra Modi was named the prime ministerial candidate for 2014 General Elections – the whole losing friends to political ideology bit. But back then, Twitter was still gaining popularity and Instagram was not here yet. So the name calling was not as fierce.
Now, of course, things are different. With misinformation and propaganda available on fingertips, almost everyone of us has had that one ‘woke’ friend who blocked us everywhere for ‘being a Bhakt and fascism enabler’.
These things will broadly fall into these five scenarios. Let us analyse them one by one.
‘You hate Muslims’
Apparently, asserting your identity as a Hindu is now being interpreted as you hate Muslims. When it is far from reality. Here is a sample conversation:
Friend: Why does Modi hate Muslims?
Me: How did you conclude that?
Friend: CAA is anti-Muslims.
Me: It does not affect Muslims. It is for persecuted religious minorities, like Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, in three neighbouring Islamic countries who are seeking Indian citizenship. It only fast-tracks it.
Friend: But why deny Muslims citizenship? Why leave so many Indian Muslims stateless?
Me: Who denied? CAA does not affect Indians, Hindus or Muslims.
Friend: What about Muslims from Pakistan? Why not give them citizenship?
Me: Why would Muslims face religious persecution in countries which identify themselves as Muslim nation?
Friend: Shut up, you Nazi.
‘Jai Shree Ram is a war cry’
You will always find your ‘woke’ friends speaking about incidents where the victim, usually a Muslim man, claims that he was attacked, beaten up and ‘forced to chant Jai Shree Ram’. Recently, one Arif Khan in Haryana was killed over old rivalry, but Twitter influencers including a Bollywood film scriptwriter who has worked with celebrities like Karan Johar, claimed that he was ‘forced’ to chant Jai Shree Ram. It turned out to be a case of old political rivalry where one gang took ‘revenge’ on him for beating them up few weeks prior.
Of course, Khan should not have been murdered and law should have taken its course, but ‘Jai Shree Ram war cry’ was a villain.
Maktoob Media spreading lies
Here is how a sample conversation with a friend will go:
Friend: Hindutva terrorists are killing Muslims for not chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’.
Me: Lot of these news are fake. Also, aren’t you the one who also vehemently insists terrorism has no religion?
Friend: Shut up, Bhakt.
Why Mandir? Why not hospital?
Since the Supreme Court judgement, a lot of friends have been critical of Hindus rejoicing at the construction of Ram Mandir at Ram Janmabhoomi. An illegal structure often referred to as Babri Masjid stood where Ram Mandir was demolished by the Mughals. So when the decades-long dispute ended, the ‘liberal’ Hindus were upset.
Friend: Why Mandir? Indian economy is in pits, we need schools and hospitals, not Mandirs.
Me: Why not have them all? If Hindus want a temple, let them. Schools, hospitals can come up at various places in India. For one to happen, other does not need to stop.
Friend: Shut up, you Hindutva supremacist.
Mughals made India
Friend: Mughals gifted us wonderful architecture. Your hate for Muslims is stopping you from seeing the beauty they gave us.
Me: They also unleashed violence: rape, forced religious conversion.
Friend: They gave us Taj Mahal.
Me: They also destroyed and looted our temples. Somnath was looted by barbaric invaders so many times. How can you whitewash the crimes only for ‘beautiful structures’
Friend: Why do you only see negative things?
Me: Know Sis Ganj Sahib Gurudwara? It marks the place where Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded on Aurangzeb’s order for trying to save Kashmiri Pandits from religious persecution. It is not called ‘seeing negative’ but facts.
Friend: Shut up, you hater.
‘Modi sent people to graves’
One of the recurring themes these days is the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. No country in the world, including China perhaps, was prepared for the pandemic. The scale at which it has affected us is unprecedented. Of course, as the head of the nation it is indeed the prime minister who has to step in to assure the citizens that we’ll all be safe. Having said that, it is a collective responsibility as well. Everyone, including state governments, opposition leaders, corporates have to pitch in to help us all sail through.
Except, we live in such times that hate for Modi is so intense that some opposition leaders would rather have their people die by spreading misinformation, vaccine hesitancy instead of being united. Here is how conversations go:
Friend: Modi has sent people to graves.
Me: Second wave indeed catch us unawares. Everyone is collectively responsible for letting our guards down.
Friend: But Modi should have not ignored warnings.
Me: You went to Goa for vacation in February, just before second wave. Modi should have stopped you.
Friend: What about oxygen crisis in Delhi? Why didn’t your Modi do anything?
Me: Oxygen supply was ramped up on war footing. You do know that oxygen was being supplied to Delhi too but Kejriwal never arranged for transportation till court had to intervene and ask Centre to take charge?
Friend: Stop putting it on Kejriwal? Modi is the PM.
Me: Kejriwal and other chief ministers wanted more freedom and liberty to take decisions on how to handle pandemic and vaccination in their own states. If states want to handle it on their own and Centre has allowed it, state needs to take charge, unless they ask Centre to intervene again. Which is also what happened with vaccines. States wanted to procure them on their own, then they couldn’t and now Centre will procure for them. You cry ‘fascism’ if Modi does not let states take charge and also cry ‘fascism’ when he lets Centre take charge. You can’t play on both sides.
Friend: Yes, yes, you go drink cow urine instead of vaccine.
Me: How many Hindus do you personally know who consume cow urine? Do you know radical Islamist terrorists have used the ‘gau mutra’ jibe before carrying out terror attacks against Indians? How do you feel comfortable in speaking the language of a terrorist?
Friend: Shut up, you BJP IT Cell.
And that’s the way the cookie crumbles
That’s how it is. You try to speak to them logically, you get called names. There are gau mutra jibes thrown in when they have nothing to argue on. You get called a Nazi for trying to reason with them. And finally, you get blocked on all social media platforms so that they can then put up an Instagram story for their other ‘woke’ friends how they blocked a ‘Sanghi’.
They draw their primary information from so-called activists on Instagram and with attention span of a goldfish, most do not care to get into the depth of the situation. They perceive things because it ‘sounds right’ not because it is factual. That’s how you are losing your friends. To wokeism.
Hunter Biden, the son of United States President Joe Biden, repeatedly called his white attorney the ‘N-word’ in lewd text conversations in late 2018 and early 2019. He also kept a racist meme involving his father and former President Barack Obama on his laptop, as per the latest reports.
According to the reports, the racist exchanges that occurred on December 13, 2018, taken from Hunter’s abandoned laptop has revealed that the son of US President had passed some racist comments against his Chicago-based corporate attorney George Mesires.
In the text exchanges with his attorney George Mesires, which also included lewd sexual talk, Hunter Biden asked the Chicago-based corporate lawyer, “How much money do I owe you?” before adding, “Because [sic] “n—a” you better not be charging me Hennessy rates”
Attorney Mesires, who is White, replied, “That made me snarf my coffee.”
“I just made that phrase up, by the way,” Biden responded, adding, “I should have [h]ad your lineage.”
“Apparently you do,” answered Mesires, to which Biden responded in a racist overtone again saying, “That’s what I’m saying ni …”

Another conversation of Hunter Biden with his lawyer surfaces
Reportedly, another conversation had occurred between Hunter and Mesires a month later. In the conversation, which is more damning than the previous one, Biden had sent Mesires a message, saying, “I only love you because you’re black,” followed by the racist n-word.

To which, Hunter began to pass lewd comments saying, “My pen*s’ as of late has been unconditional”. To which, the lawyer said, “That’s why we are searching”.

The NYPost report has also revealed that Hunter Biden had kept a meme on his laptop that showed his father and former President Barack Obama embracing.
The meme’s text read, “Obama: Gonna miss you, man. Joe: Can I say it? Just this once? Obama: *sigh* go ahead. Joe: You my n***a, Barack”.

Following the latest leaks, several social media users took to social media on Tuesday to condemn the racist statements of Hunter Biden and trended the hashtag #racistHunter on Twitter.
It is not just Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden himself has a long history of using statements that has racial overtones. For example, in 2006, he had made a racist comment to a voter, saying, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent”.
The following year, he described Obama, then a fellow candidate for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, as “the first sort of mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean.”
Just last year, ahead of the Presidential elections, Joe Biden told “Breakfast Club” radio show host Charlemagne Tha God that “if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

In the run-up to the 2020 US Presidential election campaign, a laptop and hard drive allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden had surfaced, igniting a major political controversy in the United States. The laptop had contents including materials about Hunter Biden’s personal life and business dealings, which became fodder for former President Donald Trump to attack the Biden family over their corrupt deals and impropriety.
Interestingly, Hunter Biden has never denied the authenticity of the laptop. Earlier this year, he had even conceded in an interview that it “certainly” could be his. A computer repair invoice signed by Hunter Biden on April 12, 2019, at a Delaware computer repair shop had surfaced, where he had left the laptop and a hard drive, adding more fuel to the controversy.
The FBI has seized the laptop, and Biden revealed in December that federal investigators were investigating his tax affairs. Hunter’s association with a Ukrainian gas company Burisma, and several ‘conflict of interest’ deals when his father was VP, had also been highlighted.
