Youth Congress shares images from Pakistan to criticise PM Modi and BJP led Khattar government in Haryana

The Congress party which is fighting an existential battle against the mighty BJP seems to be trying too hard to influence voters. However, in an attempt to mount a fight against BJP, Youth Congress has now resorted to posting fake images to target them ahead of the state assembly elections.

The Indian Youth Congress, the youth wing of the Indian National Congress party, on Monday tweeted that the BJP-led Haryana government, in its four-year tenure, has provided only 647 jobs in the state while becoming the world’s richest party and “emptying” the coffers of the Reserve Bank of India.

The youth wing of the grand old party shared an infographic on the same, using an image where people can be seen protesting against unemployment.

However, in a bid to attack the Haryana BJP government, the Indian National Congress social media cell resorted to half-truths by posting images shot at Pakistan to propagate those images as being taken in Haryana.

However, the same photo was first published by Tribune- a Pakistan daily while covering protests in Balochistan over unemployment way back in 2010.

Tribune.pk report from 2010

In the picture used by Tribune.com.pk, it can clearly be seen that the picture is at least from 2010 or before and in the picture, unemployed Pakistanis can be seen protesting and displaying their degrees in Jaffarabad, Balochistan.

After getting caught, the Youth Congress has now deleted the post criticising the Modi government.

In another post, Haryana Youth Congress shared an image stating that the Modi government has failed in providing employment opportunities to the youth of Haryana. In their infographic, the Congress social media cell has shared an image of a protest claiming that the unemployment rate in the state is 8.6%, which is second highest in the country.

However, according to Twitter user Ankur Singh, the image shared by the Congress party was taken at a protest by unemployed youth in 2012 and not against the NDA government contrary to the claims of the Congress party.

In another gaffe, the youth Congress used the images of protests that had erupted against their own Congress government in 2013 to attack the incumbent Manohar Lal Khattar government in Haryana.

The above image shared by the Congress party to attack the Khattar government was shot at a farmers protest against Biotech giants Monsanto pesticides at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi during the UPA rule in 2013. The Congress social media cell has now deleted the post after facing embarrassment.

There seems to be no end to Congress party’s fake propaganda against the BJP government in Haryana. In another post, now deleted, the Congress social media cell has targeted Haryana government while claiming that there is a shortage of doctors in Jind Hospital.

In a hurry to target the BJP, the Congress shared a misleading image of patients waiting in a hospital claiming to be it as the Jind hospital, Haryana. However, the image was taken in 2017 at a hospital in Siliguri, West Bengal.

The deliberate propaganda is not just limited to Haryana as even Maharasthra Youth Congress joined the race to propagate half-truths against the incumbent BJP government. In a post, the Maharasthra Youth Congress have a shared an image criticising the Narendra Modi government for alleged unemployment in the country.

However, in doing so, they have tweeted an image of contestants lining up for participating in a reality show Indian Idol in 2012 while passing the image as a protest by the youth against the Narendra Modi government.

This is not the first time that Congress party is using half-truths and whole lies to attack the BJP. Earlier this year, former Congress IT cell head Divya Spandana had spread half-truths about the Vande Bharat Express to discredit the government and insensitively dragged the Pulwama Attack into it in the process.

Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was also caught sharing misleading images of present CM Yediyurappa and other senior BJP leaders, accusing them of ‘hypocrisy’ after Siddaramaiah had claimed that they had attended Tippu Jayanti in the past. However, in a hurry to target the CM, senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah had shared images related to events that are no way related to Tippu Jayanti celebrations.

Delhi: Upset over wife going to her mother’s place, man strangulates and then drowns 21-day-old daughter in water tank

In an horrific incident, a 26-year-old man in Delhi allegedly killed his 21-day-old infant daughter by drowning her in a water tank after an argument with his wife. After a fight with his wife, Mukesh reportedly strangulated his daughter and then drowned her in a water tank.

As per reports, his wife, Kiran, was to go to her mother’s home after having delivered the baby on 16th August. However, Mukesh was unhappy about it. So he took the infant in a room and locked it from inside. According to her police complaint, when Mukesh opened the door, their daughter was lying unconscious on the cot. Kiran says Mukesh admitted to strangulating and drowning their daughter.

The police reached the spot and took the child to hospital where she was declared brought dead. As per the post-mortem report, the child was first strangulated and drowned. Mukesh was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC.

Chhattisgarh Congress leader and minister Amarjeet Bhagat blames Modi for Chandrayaan-2 ‘failure’

As India and the world waited with bated breath, in the wee hours of Saturday, Chandrayaan-2’s landing module had gone silent after Vikram the lander, could not establish communication with the control centre in Bengaluru, when it was merely 2.1 KMs from the landing surface of the moon.

While NASA, global media, scientists across the globe and almost all the proud citizens of India hailed ISRO for its exemplary efforts in accomplishing almost 90 to 95 per cent of the Chandrayaan-2 mission, there are few in the opposition squad who could not resist playing politics over the same.

Congress leader and Chhattisgarh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat in a shocking statement on Monday blamed PM Modi over the probably technical glitch in the Vikram lander. On being questioned about 100 days of Modi government, Congress leader Amarjeet Bhagat allegedly pinned the blame on PM Modi calling the mission a “failure”.

“Abhi tak to Modi ji kewal doosre ke kiye mein feeta kaat’te they, udghaatan karte they, waahwaahi lete they. Pehli baar Chandrayaan-2 launch karne gaye aur woh bhi fail ho gaya (until now Modi ji used to take credit for other people’s works. Now when he went to launch Chandrayaan-2, that also failed),” said the Congress minister.

Ironically, while on one hand, Congress Minister is heard mocking the spirit of ISRO scientists, on the other hand, Congress bigwigs had taken to Twitter to express their solidarity with ISRO after it was learned that contact with the Vikram lander was lost by mission control. However, this statement coming from a Congress leader is not surprising.

The way it is almost customary for Congress to claim credit for every achievement that the citizens of this country strive hard to achieve, it is almost traditional for it to blame Modi for whatever erroneous happens under the deep blue sky.

Amusingly, the similar had happened in the case of Chandrayaan-2. Even before Chandrayaan-2 entered its orbit around the Earth, the Congress party hailed Jawaharlal Nehru for the glorious achievement of the Indian scientists. The party could not stop itself from throwing salutations to Manmohan Singh for sanctioning the space mission in 2008. In reality, however, the Chandrayaan-2 mission was delayed by the Congress party.

Even when India had announced its anti-satellite missile, the Congress party had claimed credit for it despite the fact that it was their own government which hadn’t given clearance for the project. A former DRDO chief, in fact, credited the Modi government for giving them the go-ahead to build the missile.

Moreover, in a bizarre rant, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee had accused ISRO of launching the moon mission ‘Chandrayaan 2’ to ‘divert attention’ from the economic slowdown.

Hours after Kalyan Singh’s immunity ended with completion of term as governor, CBI moves court to summon him in Babri demolition case

0

The CBI has filed an application in the Special CBI court in Lucknow hearing the Babri structure demolition case to summon former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh as an accused in the case. Kalyan Singh’s term as Rajasthan governor ended today, and along with that, the constitutional immunity he had enjoyed also came to end. Now he will be tried along with others accused in the case of demolition of Babri structure in 1992.

Kalyan Singh was the CM of UP when the disputed structure at the Rama Janambhumi was brought down by Karsevaks on December 6 1992. He had resigned from the post of CM on the same taking moral responsibility for the demolition. Along with senior BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and others, Kalyan Singh was also charged with criminal conspiracy in the case. In 2001, a CBI court had dropped the criminal conspiracy charges, against the accused, and that verdict was upheld by the Allahabad High Court.

In 2017 the Supreme Court had ordered the restoration of criminal conspiracy charges again, terming the High Court judgement dropping the charges as “erroneous”. In July this year, the apex court had asked the special court to complete the trial in the case within nine months.

Kalyan Singh was appointed as governor of Rajasthan in September 2014, which had given him immunity from prosecution under Article 361 of the constitution. His term ended on 9th September, and he had joined the BJP on the same day. CBI also didn’t delay in taking action against him as the case is to be concluded within the deadline given by the Supreme Court. While ordering the restoration of the case in 2017, the apex court had noted that Kalyan Singh can be tried in the case only after he ceases to be governor.

Talking to media after re-joining BJP, Kalyan Singh had said that Ayodhya is a sacred place, and construction of Ram temple is a matter of devotion of crores of people. He had said that all political parties should make their stand on construction of Ram Mandir clear in front of the people.

In a first, India Army releases video proof of foiled Pakistan BAT attack in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir

0

In a first, the India Army has released a video which divulges the terror activities mobilized by Pakistan, despite facing heat from FATF and the global community.

The Pakistan Army which has forever been in a denial mode will now be rendered tight-lipped after the India Army showed video as a proof of thwarting the attack by Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir in the first week of August. The footage of the incident shows clearly how the BAT taskforce tried to infiltrate into India with the help of the Pakistani Army.

Shot by an Indian Army personnel from a quadcopter in the first week of August, the video shows bodies of five to seven terrorists along with Pakistani flags and their equipment lying scattered along the Line of Control (LoC).

On August 4, the Indian Army had foiled the attacks by the Pakistan army’s Border Action Team (BAT) on forwarding post in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir, killing at least five to seven Pakistani intruders. Foiling Pakistan in its attempt, the Indian army had then released photos of 4 dead Pak BAT team members near LoC.

After a successful operation, the Indian Army had offered Pakistan Army to take over the dead bodies of their Pakistan BAT army soldiers and terrorists. However, Pakistan had refused to accept the dead bodies of their soldiers.

Pakistan Army spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor had then denied the Indian claim as “mere propaganda” and said that India was “trying to divert the attention of the world form the situation of Kashmir.”

Similarly, the Foreign Office had also issued a statement at about mid-night to reject the claims by India. “We reject Indian allegations of cross-LOC action by Pakistan and possession of bodies,” FO said.

Pakistan PM in his Tweet, pretending to be the torch-bearer of peace and amity, which is ironic as it is his country which has been sheltering and harbouring terrorists and terrorism for an endless time now, reiterated that the only way to ‘end the long night of suffering for the people of Occupied Kashmir’ is to let the US mediate.

Ironically, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan had then claimed that India has violated international humanitarian laws by “attacking innocent civilians” across the Line of Control near Jammu and Kashmir and had pleaded the United Nations Security Councils to take note of this situation.

Tripura Govt to construct exact replicas of 51 Shaktipeethas to boost tourism in the state

The Tripura government has decided to construct the exact replicas of the 51 Shaktipeethas to boost tourism in the state. Consequently, a helicopter service has also been started to Devatamura and Unnakoti hills, famous for their rock-cut sculptures.

“There are 51 Shaktipeeths. Of the 51 Shaktipeeths, 38 are in India, six in Bangladesh, three in Nepal, two in Pakistan and one each in Tibet and in Sri Lanka. For common people, it is not possible to visit all the 51 Shaktipeeths. So, the Tripura tourism department has decided to construct the exact replicas of the Shaktipeeths near Tripuresari temple at Udaipur,” an official of the Chief Minister’s Office is reported to have said.

“The tourism department has prepared a preliminary project report of Rs 44 crore for construction of the replicas of the 51 Shaktipeeths and has sent the proposal to the 15th Finance Commission for consideration,” he added.

Deputy Director of Tripura Tourism, Abhijit Chakraborty said, “The state government has introduced a helicopter service from September 1, named as ‘Tripura Hawai Safar’, which would be available on Sunday’s only.” The Tripura Hawai Safar is a one day tour in which tourists can visit Devatamura in Gomati district and Unakoti at Unakoti district.

The Shaktipeethas will be constructed at Fulkumari in Gomati district, about 3 km away from the Tripureswari temple. The Tripuresswari temple in Udaipur town, also known as Tripura Sundari temple, is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas, popularly called Matabari locally.

Biggest crackdown since abrogation of Article 370: 8 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists arrested in Sopore

0

In a massive crackdown against the Pakistani based terrorists operating in the Valley, the security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir have been successful in arresting 8 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist from Sopore who was also involved in intimidating traders in North Kashmir.

According to the sources, the arrested men were also involved in a recent incident Sopore in which 4 persons were injured, including a 20-month-old baby. The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested 8 people who reportedly worked as overground workers for the proscribed Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The police believe that across Sopore, these eight Lashkar workers were involved in distributing pamphlets and posters, threatening traders in the region with dire consequences if they went against the LeT diktat and opened their establishments.

It is also reported that these Lashkar operatives were also attempting to extort money from affluent businessmen in North Kashmir, in a bid to revive their outfit in the region in the aftermath of abrogation of Article 370 which had made it increasingly difficult for them to secure funds for smooth functioning.

In the wake of revocation of Article 370, there has been heightened activity from the terrorists across the border in Pakistan to stoke unrest in the Valley, while the number of local terrorists active in the state has dramatically come down. Asserting that the situation in Kashmir is rapidly coming back to normal, JK governor’s advisor, Farooq Khan said on Sunday that the number of active terrorists in Kashmir has come down to 150-200 from several thousand earlier.

PoK protestors chant slogans against illegal occupation by Pakistan Army near LoC, several Kashmiris injured in Pak firing

0

Local residents belonging to various regions of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), including Tatta Pani, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hajira, and Tatrinote today raised slogans in protest against the illegal occupation and atrocities meted out by the Pakistani Army near the Line of Control (LoC) with India. The protests were aimed at claiming independence for the region.

The protestors can be heard sloganeering: “Pakistani fauji chod do Kashmir ko” and “yahan jo maara maari hain uske peeche wardi hain”, roughly translated as “Pakistan Army, leave Kashmir alone” and “army is behind the atrocities here”.

The Pakistani police in turn mercilessly assaulted and fired upon the demonstrators. In the ensuing panic, several Kashmiri’s were injured. One of the agitators was gravely injured when the Pakistani police open fired upon them.

The locals were reportedly protesting the arrests of 40 nationalist protestors from the Hajira police station area the previous night. These arrested protestors had organised a sit-in protest and were raising pro-independence slogans when they were reportedly arrested by Hajira police officials.

Mobile services have been discontinued in the area, resulting in a communications blackout.

Earlier on Saturday also, media reports had mentioned the police breaking up several pro-independence marches in the Hajira region of PoK.

Since the time India has gone ahead to revoke Article 370, which provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir, India and Pakistan’s already strained relationship has worsened. The abrogation of Article 370 has rattled Pakistan, which has since stepped up its efforts to create unrest in Kashmir. In the wake of this development, it has resorted to multiple ceasefire violations.

In fact, Defence Expert, PK Sehgal today asserted that Human rights violations are taking place on a large-scale in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), Sindh and Balochistan.

“If there are human right violations taking place, they are taking place on a large-scale in PoK, Sindh, and Balochistan and not in Kashmir,” Sehgal told news agencies furthering that Pakistan has been desperately trying to push infiltrators into Jammu and Kashmir.

Moreover, NSA Ajit Doval had also in a wide-ranging interaction with journalists in New Delhi Saturday reiterated that Pakistan is frustrated and is desperately trying to create unrest in Kashmir to blame it on India. Doval revealed some intelligence intercepts that showed how frustrated Pakistan is trying to send to the terrorists hiding in Jammu and Kashmir

Doval outlined that spooked by the government’s decision, Pakistan has been constantly trying to constitute an atmosphere of panic in the valley and in its attempt to do so, Pakistan has been trying to push terrorists inside India through the LoC. “Pakistan is trying to create trouble. 230 terrorists were spotted. Some of them have infiltered while some have been arrested”, Doval added.

Pakistan suspends Mobile and Internet services partially in several cities ahead of Muharram

0

Even as Pakistan continues to attack India on the communication restrictions imposed in Jammu and Kashmir, it had no qualms in suspending Internet services in some parts of the country-Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Karachi, just ahead of Muharram.

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority(PTA) said that mobile phone services would remain suspended on Monday and Tuesday, as Shia sect of Muslim will observe their most important ritual on Tuesday. Besides, a pre-emptive move of heightened security cover has been deployed in select parts of all major cities to avoid clashes and violent flare-up.

While the time duration for which the Internet suspension would be enforced hasn’t been revealed but it is expected that the areas through which Muharram procession will pass might experience snapping of services from morning till evening 6 PM. The deputy inspectors general (DIGs), commissioners and deputy commissioners of the various cities will ascertain when and where mobile phone network will be cut and the duration of the suspension. The Sindh government has also placed a ban on pillion riding on motorcycles for three days.

According to a senior official in the Ministry of Interior, a specific notification has been issued by the government which said that cellular services would be suspended in areas identified and recommended by the district administrations across Pakistan for the safety of mourners during the procession. The Ministry of Interior has issued an order to PTA to snap all mobile and broadband services in the select areas.

Thousands of police personnel have been deployed on the routes of the Muharram procession in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Karachi and other cities. According to PTA officials, such arrangements were historically made at the last moment. However, the Pakistani government, this year, has proceeded to take advance action in limiting a potential outbreak of violence usually accompanying Muharram processions.
