Multi-crore scam accused Karti Chidamabaram, faced an embarrassing situation on Monday when he was schooled by social media users for his hypocrisy as he attempted to take a dig at Jay Shah for being elected as the secretary of BCCI.

On Monday, Karti Chidambaram tweeted a post asking the social media users what if he had been elected as BCCI secretary at a time when his father P Chidambaram was the Home Minister of India. Condescendingly referring to BJP supporters as ‘bhakts’ and ‘nationalists’ would have reacted to his appointment as head of sports body.

As Karti Chidambaram attempted to display his moral high ground, the social media users schooled the multi-crore scam-accused Congress leader and Member of Parliament for his hypocrisy. The Sivaganga MP was reminded that he himself was representing various sports body in powerful positions in the past when UPA was in power.

As reports emerged that Jay Shah, the son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah would be the next secretary of the cricket administration body of the country – BCCI, the Congress ecosystem launched an attack on him by referring to old, debunked lies published by Leftist rag- the Wire.

However, in doing so, the Congress party and its ecosystem had exposed its own dubiousness as there are various leaders in the Congress party who have been associated in the sports administration including senior Congress leader Jyothiraditya Scindia, Vaibhav Gehlot – the son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Karti Chidambaram is currently facing investigation in a number of cases including money laundering and having undisclosed foreign assets. He has been charged in cases like INX Media case and Aircel Maxis case and is facing probe from the central agencies. His father P Chidambaram has also been facing an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Aircel Maxis case.
