Modi government should continue in the centre for another 10 years: Former Kerela DGP

0

Former DGP of Kerela TP Senkumar has openly praised PM Modi government and the works undertaken organisations associated with the RSS. TP Senkumar was removed as DGP in May 2016 soon after the Pinarayi Vijayan government came to power. The government’s move was slammed by Supreme Court and Senkumar was reinstated, subsequently.

As per a report in the Indian Express, TP Senkmar was speaking on Friday at a reception organized by Bharatiya Janta Party for leaders, who defected from other parties and joined them. He praised Seva Bharti, an NGO that was founded on the ideas propagated by Veteran Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh’s Sarsanghachalak Balasaheb Deoras in 1979.

The NGO is widely known for its contribution to the upliftment of people from economically marginalised communities. It has an active presence in 602 districts of the country. He said that he shall continue to participate in the NGOs activities in future. Senkumar admitted that he had been attending events organised by the Seva Bharti and will continue to do so in the future.

Senkumar praised PM Modi and his efforts to rejuvenate the country’s image abroad. He added that the Modi government should continue at the centre for another 10 years. He also added that if speaking the truth gets him branded as a Sanghi, then everyone should be one.

”There should be a continuation of the present regime at the Centre. Because of the Prime Minister(Modi), any Indian can travel with pride abroad”, the former DGP said.

He also asserted that he is currently part of Sree Dharma Pariplanana Yogam society, that works for the upliftment of Ezhava community of Kerela. He said that he has no plans to join BJP.

After retiring, Senkumar had stirred a controversy by his alleged anti-muslim remark. In an interview to a magazine, he had said that ‘Love Jihad’ is a fact. He had also said that out of 100 born children in Kerela, 42 were of the Muslim community, and added that it was high considering the fact that Muslims only consist 27% of the total population. He had warned about its implication on demography. The interview had invited a non-bailable case by cyber police under IPC section 153A for promoting enmity between the communities.

“Recently, I have been facing untouchability, which I hadn’t experienced in the past. So I thought I should end that. Hence, I came to attend this event to end that untouchability,” Senkumar said about attending the event.

The making of Maruti: A sordid history of Congress scams

Late Sanjay Gandhi was expected to be the political heir of Mrs Indira Gandhi. He was supposed to be the next Congress head and PM candidate after Indira, as Congress had by then already become a family run dynastic enterprise. Such was the influence he wielded over the party, merely on account of being the son of Mrs Indira Gandhi, that surreptitiously sliding into the role of head of Indian Youth Congress, displacing the veteran Priya Ranjan Das Munshi, that nothing would move in the mother organization, without his vetting.

Under Sanjay, who was never elected to the Parliament till then, let alone being the member of the cabinet, IYC became something of the NAC under Sonia Gandhi, running a parallel government, unhindered by the Constitution. The political legacy, the mother-son duo left us with is another matter, for the sake of this piece, we only look at the political corruption they jointly indulged into. They merely built on the foundation left by formidable, and since then, white-washed by the co-opted media, Jawaharlal Nehru. Under Nehru we saw, three scams in defence deals, directly carried out by the family friend and local Guardian of Indira during her London stay, VK Krishna Menon. Most famous of the three scams was the Jeep Scam. (Read my post on the Jeep Scam Here)

Whether Shri Nehru was directly involved in it or not would be anybody’s guess, what we do know is that when the PAC found irregularities and advised further investigation, Nehru wound up the committee itself and later appointed VK Krishna Menon RS MP, followed it by appointed Shri Menon as Defense Minister who later sat over the 1962 debacle in Indo-China war.

With Indira coming to the helm, having seen through the slavish silence of the nation, in such clear misappropriation of the authority of the office of the Prime Minister under her father, as was likely things went downhill. Sanjay Gandhi, not holding any office, was literally running the Government, and by some strange whim decided that he wanted to become a car manufacturer. Sanjay Gandhi had interest in automobile and an indulgent mother Mrs Gandhi considered Sanjay’s alleged involvement in car thefts in Delhi an indicator of the same. Armed with an Intermediate degree, which is equivalent to current day class X +2 Certificate, Sanjay decided that he does not want to work in an automobile factory; he wanted to run one. With Sanjay’s intellect and impatience, getting an engineering degree seemed difficult. So an easier way worked out was to train him in some global automobile organization.

An Industrialist and family friend of Pt. Nehru, Dharam Teja, who later became a predecessor to Nirav Modi, as the chief protagonist in the first banking scam in independent India as Teja Loan Scam, came forward and arranged for a three-year-long apprenticeship in the London plant of Rolls-Royce. To move quickly, the entitled son of the Prime Minister of India decided that Two years have already given him the necessary knowledge to go and make his own car factory in India. The PRO of Rolls-Royce at Crew said: All he was interested in was booze and women. (I quote from The Sanjay Story by Late Vinod Mehta). Let us leave it at that. Sanjay returned to India and things moved quickly then on.

Back in India, on account of a puncture, Sanjay Gandhi met with a mechanic, Arjun Das, who became Sanjay Gandhi’s primary collaborator to his venture which started in a shed in Gulabi Bagh, with his knowledge of all the Delhi Junkyards and Chor Bazars. Quickly a car prototype was built. The government was exploring the idea of the indigenously-built small car since a committee under the Chairmanship of L. K. Jha was set up. The committee estimated the demand of 10,000 cars per annum for a car priced at INR 6000. Proposals were sought from the manufacturers. Thirteen manufacturers responded, including the Public Sector, Hindustan Aircraft. The prototype created by the Hindustan Aircraft, which was also credited with the most exhaustive proposal, was demonstrated to the media. Another committee was constituted under Mr G. Panday to evaluate the feasibility of such a car. The committee evaluated the project as feasible and recommended that Renault is assigned the task to make the “small, cheap, Car.”

The then Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, VK Krishnamacharya had in principle opposition to the idea of the small car and suggested Buses, Trucks, bicycles instead. The project was shelved by Mr C. Subramanium on 9th August 1962. By then our hero of Jeep Scam, Sri Krishna Menon was out of 1962 shadow and recommended that such car be manufactured in defence ordinance factories. By July 1968, as Sanjay Gandhi was back with his half-done education in car-making, it was decided that the car will be made by the private sector (Oh my God, Rahul ji). On 13th November 1968, Sanjay Gandhi’s proposal joined already in evaluating proposals. Renault’s proposal to manufacture was at the unit price of INR 11,190, and Toyota was at INR 6,700. Sanjay’s proposal was to make one at INR 6000. Granting the License to Sanjay to manufacture this car was the first act of Mrs Gandhi after assuming the Chairmanship of the Industrial Licensing Committee. George Fernandes termed it “nepotism of worst kind”, Madhu Limaye, “naked corruption”, Vajpayee “corruption unlimited” and SN Misra “Blackmail.”

On 31st of November, 1970, a Letter of Intent was issued to Sanjay Gandhi, after Cabinet approval on 9th of November. Maruti was licensed to manufacture 50,000 low-priced cars, to match the manufacturing capacity of the three manufacturers in operation at the time. Armed with the license and mother’s blessings, Sanjay’s search next was for resources to make 50,000 Cars. First was the land. Bansilal offered 296.7 Acres of land on Delhi Jaipur Highway so that it is close enough for Sanjay to continue living with his mother in South Delhi. The claim made by the party was that the land belonged to retired men and wasn’t agricultural. It turns out, 90 percent of the 405.4 acres requisitioned was irrigated and the area had cattle count of 4 per acre. The second concern was an airforce ammunition dump and an airfield in the area. VC Shukla was Minister of Defence Production and managed to move both out. A compensation of INR 36 Lakh at the rate of approx. Twelve Thousand Rupees per Acre was given. The compensation covered for land, crop, houses and irrigation systems. Farmers were given eight hours to raise objections. As the men went to meet the Land Acquisition Officer, the Government acquired the land on behalf of the then-Prime Minister’s son.

The man who was given the license to manufacture 50000 cars, did not have education, training, land and even funds, as it turned out when Mr YB Chavan declared that Sanjay Gandhi’s annual income in the year 1970-71 was INR 722. The public limited company, Maruti was formed in 1971 with Sanjay Gandhi as MD, at the salary of INR 4000 a month. Sanjay held ten shares of 10 Rs each in the company, thus had an investment of INR 100 Rs in Maruti Limited as the MD. To circumvent the regulation that the board members need to have at least 25 shares, a resolution was passed exempting Maruti Limited from the requirement. Maruti began with an authorized capital of INR 2.5 Crores in 1971, and by June 1972, it was a 10 Crore Company. There were numerous small investors in the company, all relatives of Shri LN Mishra or his widow. An additional source of income was dealership deposits. In 1972, Sanjay appointed 75 dealers across the country with the promise to deliver small cars in six months. In case of delay, interest at bank rates was assured. In the year 73-74, Maruti collected INR 2.18 Crores as dealership fee. A few dealers, brave enough to seek the return of money, due to non-delivery of cars, found themselves arrested under MISA during Emergency. In November, 72, Sanjay went public declaring that the prototype of the car was ready and there is a minor increase in the price, from initially quoted INR 6000 basis which he got the license to the new price of INR 11,300.

As Government banks began lending huge sums to Sanjay at reduced interest rates without collateral, an alarm was raised by Deputy Director of RBI, Dr RK Hazari, and also the Chairman of Central Bank, Mt. Taneja. Under Emergency, Taneja was removed, so was Hazari. The Governor of RBI, S. Jagannathan too was quickly removed and replaced by more pliant Mr KR Puri. Mr RK Talwar, the Chairman of SBI, who was resisting the demands of overdrafts and loans too was removed. This required enacting a law, and a law was enacted accordingly allowing SBI CMD to be dismissed with three months’ notice. The car which was supposed to launch in 1973, was delayed due to an engine problem, and by 1975 steady progress towards the launch was made. In 1976, considerable progress was made but recession prevented the launch. In 1977, Sanjay Gandhi was working towards the launch of the car. Mr Gandhi sought the fourth extension to the LoI and an increase in the proposed price of the car from Rs 6000 initially proposed to Rs. 25,000.

Along with the launch of Maruti Limited, Sanjay had also launched Maruti Technical Services. The company was family-owned, in partnership between Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka and a person named Shroff. Sanjay’s investment in this family-owned enterprise was INR 1.25 Lakhs (as against Maruti Limited where he had invested 100 Rs, seven months later). Sonia Gandhi was the Managing Director of MTS, with a salary of INR 2500 plus one percent commission on net profit, plus bonus, gratuity, house allowance, phone and car. A 20-year engagement was forged between Maruti Limited and MTS, wherein Maruti was to pay MTS 2% of net sales in return of consultancy. As some sort of mobilization fund, Maruti Ltd. Paid INR 5 Lakh to MTS. By June, 75, when Maruti was yet to launch a vehicle, MTS had milked around 10 Lakhs and another company, Maruti Heavy Vehicles (P) Ltd. Was launched as a subsidiary of MTS. MTS was again a consultant to MHV. MHV had machinery worth Rs. 12, 231 using which it produced goods worth Rs. 16 Lakhs. MHV imported Perkins and Ford Engines, refurbished old road rollers with them and sold them as new. These rollers were 40 percent costlier than the ones made by PSU Jessop, still won all major government contracts.

By this time, things became messier and noises became shriller. The Emergency came in and Sanjay found escape towards politics. At the time of his death in the year. Sanjay won the Lok Sabha election in 1980 from Amethi, probably only elected position he ever held and died in a year in a tragic plane accident. His name is now mostly known for the excesses during the Emergency, but his role in extraordinary Maruti affair, in which Indira Gandhi and kids were equal participants, opens us to a relatively unknown aspect of Sanjay Gandhi and the Congress as an unscrupulous business enterprise.

Lucknow woman helped ISIS terror module mastermind Suhail, who had a Pakistani handler, raise funds

0

Mufti Mohammad Suhail alias Hazrath the mastermind of Islamic State (ISIS) terror module, which was busted by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) in a joint operation with UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Wednesday, was reportedly in touch with a woman and her son in Lucknow. Suhail had visited Lucknow four months ago to arrange funds for the terror module as revealed by an Uttar Pradesh ATS official. This has exposed a sordid tale of how the Islamic state is using Social Media to radicalise and organise logistics.

Suhail who was arrested for forming the terror module called “Harkat-ul-Harb-e-Islam” is reported to have admitted before the NIA that he tried to radicalise the 17-year-old son of a Lucknow based women unsuccessfully. He said that the woman even sold her gold worth over Rs 2 lakh to help him raise funds for the module. The woman reportedly came in touch with Suhail over social media.

The officer also said that the woman and her son was interrogated by the NIA on Wednesday and Thursday for several hours but were released later due to lack of any substantial evidence against them. She is also suspected to have arranged the stay of Suhail in Lucknow during his visits.

Investigations revealed that Suhail’s online handler was a Pakistani identified as Abu Malik Peshawari who was in touch with Suhail for past several months. Suhail who used the online identity of Abu Bakr Khurasani admitted before the investigating agencies that he was inclined towards violent jihad for past nine years and had even bought country-made pistols.

“It’s not like Suhail was attracted towards a particular terror outfit like Islamic State from the beginning. It’s just that this online IS handler, who was now giving him directions to carry out blasts in Delhi and other places, convinced him to join the outfit,” an NIA official said.

Several arrests have been made so far by the NIA in relation to the terror module case. the NIA and the UP ATS had also conducted raids across 17 locations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Explosives including rocket launcher were seized in large amounts by the agencies.

Pallavi Ghosh, expert on all things Congress whitewashes ill-treatment of Manmohan Singh by Rahul Gandhi

All of us remember the manner in which now Congress President, Rahul Gandhi, insulted then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by tearing an ordinance that was passed by Singh’s cabinet in public. Frankly, it was disgraceful conduct on Gandhi’s part that can never be ignored.

Manmohan Singh has always been considered to be a puppet whose actions as Prime Minister were directed by Sonia Gandhi. The general impression that the public had of him was someone who was treated extremely unfairly by the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. It is still the general belief, and with good reason, that the first family of the Congress party treated Singh in a contemptible fashion.

Now that Rahul Gandhi has taken charge of the party and has expressed his desire to be the Prime Minister of the country, it could very well work against him if the family’s treatment of Singh becomes a focus of attention ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

Therefore, Congress sympathizers in the media appear to have taken it upon themselves to whitewash the insulting manner in which the Family has treated India’s first Sikh Prime Minister. In what can only be construed as a propaganda piece to favour Rahul Gandhi, Pallavi Ghosh has attempted to exonerate the perpetually ‘Come-Of-Age’ Congress president.

Ghosh, who has earned a notorious reputation for herself due to overt loyalty towards the dynasty, claims that Rahul Gandhi has realized that his conduct has been unacceptable in the past and has made an effort to develop a proper relationship with the former Prime Minister.

The articles ends with the words, “Sources say Rahul was keen that the foundation day cake must be cut with Dr Singh. This was in recognition of the man who has been called ‘weak’, but whom Rahul sees as his benchmark; who, as those close to him say, he will always turn to as he would have if his father Rajiv Gandhi were still alive.”

Such flowery words betray the real intent behind the article. It certainly does not appear to be an honest reflection of the events that have transpired between the two of them. It comes across as a work of fiction.

Such glossy words cannot hide the fact that the manner in which Rahul Gandhi treated Manmohan Singh at the party’s 134th foundation day. In what was surely a well thought out PR strategy to elevate Rahul Gandhi’s stature as a politician, Rahul Gandhi ‘helped’ Manmohan Singh cut the cake. In reality, it was arrogant, rude as the Congress President appeared to snatch the knife away from Singh in a hurry as the aged politician was naturally slow in his movements. The manner in which he served the cake to the senior politician came across as devoid of any affection and evidently demeaning, a fact that was not missed by most people.

In fact, in the video, one can hear some Congress loyalist saying that this clip of Rahul Gandhi cutting the cake along with former PM Manmohan Singh should go out to the media. Ignoring the brazen and callous attitude shown by Rahul in the video itself, seems like Pallavi Ghosh has obliged.

There was a certain arrogance in Rahul Gandhi’s behaviour. If Ghosh is telling the truth and Rahul Gandhi indeed regards Singh as a father figure, then his behaviour certainly does not reflect the basic ‘Sanskar’ that is inculcated in every Indian as a child. If he actually does regard him as such and still treats him that way, then God forbid, it makes Rahul Gandhi come across as even worse than he already does.

Pallavi Ghosh’s article was most likely meant to be damage control in light of the release of the trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister. The trailer predictably shows the Gandhis in an extremely poor light while exonerating the former Prime Minister. The propaganda would have indeed been far more believable had Rahul Gandhi not treated Manmohan Singh rudely at the foundation day celebrations. But after it, the article appears rather ridiculous.

We do not have to regard people as a father figure to observe the most basic courtesies while interacting with elders. Rahul Gandhi’s behaviour lacks even that. It is consistent with the manner the family has treated Manmohan Singh all these years, as a prop to further their own political interests.

Ayodhya: Severed head of cows discarded after slaughter, police arrest 4

0

The UP police have arrested four individuals in connection with cow slaughter and meat smuggling. As per reports, the individuals and their associates were wanted after the severed heads of four cows were found discarded near a canal in Mawai area in the district.

On 24 December, the severed heads of many slaughtered cows were discovered near a village canal. After the recent incidents of violence in Bulandshahr, the UP police have been instructed to take strict action on cases of cow slaughter and several arrests have been made in recent days.

After investigations, the police have arrested four individuals for illegally slaughtering stolen cows in the Mawai area. Two country-made guns, two knives, two motorcycles, a pickup vehicle and sharp weapons used for meat cutting were found in possession of the criminals. Two more associates of the four arrested persons are reportedly on the run.

Two of the accused, named Noushad and Isa are on the run.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Mannan, Shakeel, Parvez, and Waseem. The police have stated that the gang used to pick up stray or stolen cows from nearby villages and slaughter them at secluded places to supply meat for Muslim weddings.

Reports have stated that all the four arrested accused are repeat offenders and already have cases against them under the Gangster Act and Arms Act. The main accused Mannan is a wanted criminal in the area and has 16 criminal cases against him.

All the accused also have cases under Animal cruelty and cow slaughter registered against them.

Local news reports have stated that the Mawai area has become a hub of cattle smuggling and cow slaughter in recent years. The police are also suspecting the involvement of several policemen in the operation of gangs involved in the crime.

Recently in Ghaziabad, the police had arrested three individuals named Irfan, Kaab and Asif for cow slaughter after carcasses were found in a village and have informed that as they were found to be repeat offenders, the Gangster Act will be applied against them. In 2017, after Yogi Adityanath’s government came to power, UP government had ordered the application of Gangster Act against repeat offenders in cow smuggling and slaughter cases.

After Vijay Mallya, Modi govt traces Nirav Modi in UK with help of British authorities

0

Responding to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs General VK Singh (Retd.) informed parliament that fugitive Nirav Modi’s whereabouts have been ascertained with the help of British Authorities. Singh said that Nirav Modi is currently in the United Kingdom after National Central Bureau Manchester gave inputs about his whereabouts to the National Central Bureau.

Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi have been absconding after both were found complicit in Punjab National Bank fraud that surfaced earlier this year. According to the bank, the fugitives had allegedly cheated the nationalised bank to the tune of over Rs 13,000 crore, with the purported involvement of a few employees of the bank. Mehul Choksi is currently under self-imposed exile in Antigua and Barbuda, a country with whom India doesn’t have an extradition treaty.

Mehul Choksi’s advocates on 25 December informed Prevention of Money Laundering Act court that their client is willing to sort the issues with banks and is in complete touch with them.

Nirav Modi has been trying hard to resist the extradition efforts by Indian authorities. Modi had mailed the Enforcement Directorate that he cannot return to the country, citing threat to his life by ‘lynching’.
The government has so far, revoked Modi’s passport and also prompted INTERPOL to issue a Red Corner Notice against him and his sister.
VK Singh also informed parliament that government has initiated extradition process against Modi. Two requests have so far been sent by Central Bureau of Investigation and ED the authorities of the United Kingdom.
Indian authorities successfully managed to convince London’s magistrate court that Vijay Mallya is a fugitive businessman and needs to be extradited to India. After, the verdict the extradition request is now at the behest of British home secretary.

Gurugram land scam: Robert Vadra and BS Hooda to face probe as police get govt nod to proceed

0

Gurugram police have stated that they have received a nod from the ML Khattar government to carry forward the investigation against Robert Vadra and former Congress CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda in the land scam case. As per reports, the Khattar government has given permission to the Gurugram police to act on the registered FIR against Vadra and Hooda.

Gurugram Police commissioner K Rao has revealed the same in a press conference today.

A resident of Gurugram named Surendra Sharma of the Rathiwas village had filed an FIR against Robert Vadra, Bhupinder Hooda and others in September 2018, alleging that Vadra’s firm Skylight Hospitality had bought 3.5 acres of land in Shikohpur village (Now Sector 83) in Gurugram from one Omkareswar Properties for 7.5 crores in 2008. The FIR had alleged that massive irregularities had happened in the deal and Hooda had favoured Vadra costing the exchequer huge losses.

Vadra’s Skylight Hospitality had allegedly sold the land to DLF for a massive 58 crores in the same year.

In February this year, Hooda and 33 others were charge-sheeted by the CBI in the 1500 crore Manesar land deal case.

Vadra is also facing probe in land grab cases in Rajasthan.

In the Gurugram land grab case, the FIR is registered against Vadra, Hooda and others under sections 420(cheating), 120(hatching conspiracy), 467,468 and 471(forgery) of the IPC.

The Justice SN Dhingra commission set up by the ML Khattar government in 2015 had probed the allegations of scams in the grant of licenses under the Hooda government that favoured certain companies including Vadra’s firm to develop colonies in Gurugram.

Congress endorses dubious fake news propaganda that demonises Hindus

The Congress party, through its official Twitter handle, has chosen to endorse anti-Hindu propaganda peddled by Hate Crime Watch (HCW). It is a multi-organisation effort headed by FactChecker.in of IndiaSpend, in collaboration with Aman Biradari and NewsClick.in.

Readers should also remember that the founding trustee of Indiaspend, factchecker.in’s parent organization, is now the Data Analytics head of Congress party.

It is pertinent to mention that the creators of the propaganda themselves admit that they do not aspire to be an exhaustive record of all hate crimes in the country. Such an admission allows them the opportunity to cherry-pick data to peddle their narrative.

They ignore cases where Hindus are victims, they label crimes where Muslims are victims as ‘hate crime’ even though there is nothing to suggest that the crime is motivated by religion and they attempt to create a narrative that portrays Hindus as aggressors and Muslims as victims.

To give readers an idea about the manner in which factchecker.in manipulates data, when Vidharam Katheria, a Dalit, was murdered by a group of Muslims over a family dispute, IndiaSpend did not consider a hate crime claiming that there was no evidence to suggest that the crime was motivated by religious hatred. But when one Azhar Khan was murdered for fishing near a Temple, it was treated as a religious hate crime although there was nothing to suggest that the crime was motivated by religion. This is merely a single instance. There have been several occasions where factchecker.in has indulged in such malpractice.

HCW’s most recent claim is that 2018 saw the most religious hate crimes in the current decade. It is disingenuous on their part to reach such far-fetched conclusions based on data that is not exhaustive.

Journalist at Swarajya Magazine, Swati Goel Sharma, has comprehensively busted the manner in which HCW selectively manipulated data to paint Hindus as aggressors and Muslims as victims.

We have also comprehensively exposed the manner in which factchecker.in concocts an agenda in an earlier report. But despite the obvious flaws in the data, the Washington Post had published fiction disguised as news claiming ‘rising hate in India’ based on data from the same organization. Mainstream Media has time and again relied on this faulty data to peddle an anti-Hindu narrative. And now, the Congress party has decided to endorse this narrative which is clearly based on extremely dubious data.

The HCW is a concerted effort to manufacture what can only be described as sophisticated Fake News. Not once or twice, they have repeatedly invented new ways to portray the Hindu community and the BJP in poor light.

The BBC recently published a ‘research‘ which claimed that Nationalism is the primary driver of Fake News in India where they used factcheckers.in as a source for Fake News. One wonders what the BBC has to say about the fact that a source they endorsed in their research is a prime entity for manufacturing Fake News. Amusingly enough, the research itself was a classic case of Fake News.

The Congress party has also revealed that despite their public display of embracing ‘Soft Hindutva‘, they shall not hesitate to demonize the Hindu community. After all, they are the party which devoted state resources to manufacture the narrative of “Saffron Terror“.

CBI wanted to falsely implicate political leaders including Amit Shah, worked towards achieving script: Court on Sohrabuddin case

On 21st December 2018, a Special CBI Court had acquitted all 22 accused in the “fake” encounter of gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh, his associate Tulsiram Prajapati and the murder of his wife, Kauser Bi. These cases have long been used to target Amit Shah and Narendra Modi by Congress and the media. Now, excerpts to the Court’s judgement reveal a larger conspiracy hatched by the CBI under the then Congress government to implicate political leaders in these cases.

The CBI Court has held that the CBI (under the then Congress government) had a “premeditated theory and script” to implicate political leaders rather than trying to find the truth.

The Court observed that the witnesses statements that were used to allege “fake” encounter was wrongly recorded by the then CBI. The Court observed:

In my entire discussion, I have said that the witnesses have turned hostile when I say that the witnesses have turned hostile it merely means that they didn’t depose as per their respective statements recorded by the CBI during its investigation. However, I had the occasion of seeing the deposition of the witnesses while they were in the witness box in this court which clearly reflected that they were speaking the truth before this court. Clearly indicating that their statements were wrongly recorded under CrPc 161 by CBI during the investigation.

The Court said that after careful scrutiny of the evidence placed before him he has no hesitation in recording that the CBI wanted to prove a premeditated theory and that ‘they were doing something other than trying to reach the truth’ during the course of this investigation.

The Court said that earlier, an order was passed in connection with Accused Number 16, Amit Shah, where while discharging the petition the Judge had clearly observed that the charges against him were premeditated and politically motivated. The Court said that CBI had a script and worked its way to achieve that goal.

My predecessor has while passing an order of discharge in the application of accused number 16 (Amit Shah) clearly recorded that the investigation was politically Motivated. Having given my dispassionate consideration to the entire material placed before me and having examined each of the witnesses and the evidence closely, I have not hesitation in recording that the premier investigating agency as CBI had before it a premeditated theory and a script intended to anyhow implicate political leaders. And the agency there after nearly did what was required to reach that goal rather than conducting an investigation in accordance with law.

The Court also observed that the witnesses deposed before the court without fear asserting that their statements taken by the CBI were wrongly recorded and that the investigation was hurriedly completed.

The Court noted the negligence of the CBI towards the material part of the investigation. It was observed that the CBI’s negligence clearly indicated that they hurriedly completed the investigation either by using a replica of the earlier recorded investigation and have implicated the police personnel who had not at all knowledge of any conspiracy rather they appeared innocent.

The Court observed (Emphasis ours):

It is no doubt a matter of regret that there is a reported killing of Sohrabuddin and Tulsiram and it is going unpunished. So also Kausar Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin disappeared and the script of the CBI during the investigation that she was killed and set ablaze is lacking evidence and is also going unpunished. However, just for the sake of the record, the accused cannot be punished holding them guilty on moral or suspicion grounds. I have therefore no options to conclude that the accused are not guilty and are to be acquitted.

Interestingly, some startling loopholes in the CBI’s (under Congress government) investigation too came to light.

According to Times Now, the following observations were made to point holes in the investigation that was force-fit to implicate political leaders.

  1. CBI did not collect the phones of the accused nor their call data.
  2. The service revolvers allegedly used to shoot at Sohrabuddin were not examined.
  3. The entry of weapons in the record book was not examined.
  4. The shells of bullets seized from the accused were not sent to FSIL to examine and match with the pin mark of the weapons collected from Udaypur.
  5. Bullet found inside the body of Sohrabuddin matched with the pin mark of revolver collected from ATS, however, there was no evidence to whom the revolver was allotted.
  6. The journey of Sohrabuddin from Indore to Hyderabad and later was not established.
  7. Bus tickets were booked in the name of Salman and Shaikh. But no investigation was carried out to find who is Salman and who is Shaikh.
  8. There was no evidence to prove that 5 officers of the ATS travelled from Ahmedabad to Sangli.
  9. Who killed Sohrabuddin is a question mark, it has not been established. The chain is missing.

One must recall that Sohrabuddin’s brother too had asserted that he had not named Amit Shah at all in 2010 and that Shah’s name was added much later by the CBI itself.

With these scathing comments, the media that has been spreading half truth to help Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party spread whole lies have been put in a spot.

Just a few days ago when the Court had acquitted all 22 accused, Rahul Gandhi had yet again tried to politicise this concocted case.

A month before that on 22nd November, The Print and The Wire had published ‘SHOCKING’ headlines that attempted to implicate Amit Shah in the “conspiracy” to kill Prajapati. The portals had conveniently left out most of the facts of the case just to further the Congress narrative.

With the Court observing that the CBI was creating evidence and falsifying statements to implicate political leaders, obviously pointing towards Amit Shah and Narendra Modi, one would wonder if now the Congress would back off and the media would finally grow a conscience. One also wonders if Rahul Gandhi will stay true to his innate brazenness and continue lying about the facts of the case just like he did after the Supreme Court rubbished all allegations against the Rafale deal signed between the Indian and French government.
