Boost to Modi’s ‘Digital India’ clarion call: Visa slashes charges on debit card payments by 95%

In a bid to boost digital transactions, Visa, the largest card payments network in the country, has decided to lower down the charges on debit card transactions. This decision by Visa will pave the way to increase in India’s digital payments market by enabling small merchants and customers to transact more in digital mode.

Visa said it would cut rates on debit card transactions by up to 95%. The largest quantum decrease will apply to transactions under Rs 2,000. The biggest slash in charges is applicable to the card issuing banks, which will drop to 15 paise for transactions under Rs 2,000 and to Rs 1.5 for high-value payments, from a uniform rate of Rs 2.99 per transaction. The Visa has also reduced the charges for merchant acquiring banks; the payments network has reduced charges to 15 paise per transaction of up to Rs 2,000, from 45 paise.

According to Economic Times, Debit cards account for 96% of the cards in use in India, but it is the credit cards that account for 51% of card payments in terms of value, ET reported on June 12. But with only 37 million credit cards in use in the country, as against 861 million debit cards, their usage does not translate to mass adoption of digital payments.

This move will be encouraging, as the acceptance of debit card payments will grow in small retail markets. Now it will become easier and more attractive for banks to deploy terminals at small shops; when accompanied by steps to increase awareness among small merchants, it will help reduce their resistance to card payments.

Visa commands more than 40% market share in India in terms of the number of card transactions on its network. It is facing tough competition from Rupay, which offers much cheaper rates at 90 paise per debit card transactions. Most of the payment banks and small banks have joined hands with the RBI-promoted NPCI, for offering the Rupay cards to customers. Recently, Rupay has also entered credit card market, which may bring the charges down in near future.

India has seen a faster adoption of a digital mode of transactions. In a recent report, India’s digital payments had tripled from 2.5 per cent to 7 per cent of the GDP in 3 years, and all set to reach 10 per cent by 2023.

The credit must be given to the combined efforts of government, regulators and even banks for providing impetus to digital transactions. Along with card transactions, UPI or United Payments Interface has gained immense traction in the past few months and been largely responsible for the digital push.

Gujarat is on its way to becoming the first state to get 100% pipe gas coverage

As per reports, Gujarat will become the first state to be completely covered under the pipe gas distribution network after the ninth round of bidding, which will see a quarter of the country brought under the network.

The Western areas of the state are already 84.31 percent covered under the city gas distribution (CGD) network, and will see the remaining area covered after the ninth round of bidding which opened last month, Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Chairperson D K Sarraf said here today. Following this, the country’s overall penetration will go up in terms of geographical areas, from existing 11 percent to 24 percent, covering 29 percent population from existing 19 percent, he said.

After the bidding, which is already underway, 100 percent of the population in Gujarat will be covered under the CGD network which as of now is already 87.37 percent covered.

Sarraf said that to promote natural gas consumption in kitchens and for vehicles in the state, CGD has been given the priority for access to cheaper domestic gas, while others would have to depend on imported gas which is costlier as compared to domestic gas. CGD sector is currently consuming 20 million cubic meters natural gas per day, with the demand expected to multiply as penetration grows, he said.

In 2016, City Gas distribution player, Gujarat Gas Limited has joined hands with the Gujarat Housing Board (GHB) to provide piped natural gas (PNG) to homes built under the ‘Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme’ as well as other housing schemes of GHB. In order to connect other cities and new residential colonies being set up by GHB, the state government in the year 2016 started expanding the gas pipeline network across the state so as to increase the usage of natural gas by consumers and thereby reduce pollution.

In the latest bidding round, 14 additional districts, including 6 complete districts and the rest in parts, will be covered under the CGD network in the state. The districts include Gir Somnath, Morbi, Mahisagar, Narmada, Kheda, Junagadh, and Tapi.

Piped Natural gas (PNG) is used for Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Consumption. PNG has several distinctions to its credit of being a pollution-free fuel, economical and safer fuel being few of them. it is the most eco-friendly form of fuel. PNG is one of the cleanest burning fuels and helps improve the quality of air. When natural gas burns completely, it gives out carbon dioxide and water vapour. These are the very components that we give out while breathing so it is completely safe.

In the year 2007, Government of India established Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) under the PNGRB Act 2006. Under the Act, PNGRB grants the authorization to the entities for developing a City Gas Distribution (CGD) network (including PNG network) in a specified Geographical Area (GA) of the country. CGD sector has four distinct segments – Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) predominantly used as auto-fuel, and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) used in domestic, commercial and Industrial segments. Until the end of last year, the country was having about 16470 Km long Natural Gas pipeline network in operation.

Doctors hope for full recovery after Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s health improves significantly

The health of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has seen a significant improvement leading the AIIMS doctors to believe that he would soon make a full recovery, Hindustan Times has reported. The report quotes AIIMS doctor Randeep Guleria as stating that they were hoping for a full recovery in the next few days.

As per an ANI feed, Vajpayee’s health had improved significantly in the last 48 hours, with his kidney function, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure being back to normal and being maintained without artificial support. Overall his health was being classified as “good”.

Another doctor Aarti Vij stated that Vajpayee’s health was stable and he was being treated with injectable antibiotics. He as per the report was responding to the treatment and would remain under the hospital’s care until the infection was controlled.

The former prime minister was admitted to the AIIMS on 11 June, following complaints of urinary tract infection, chest congestion, and low urine output.

Following his admission, he was visited by various political leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, veteran BJP leader LK Advani, BJP President Amit Shah and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Incidentally, Vajpayee was even visited by Congress President Rahul Gandhi who decided to politicise the former prime minister’s health by exuding the culture of his party. He was quoted as saying that, “Vajpayee ji is ill, who went first? I went to meet him at the hospital. Though he fought against us, Vajpayee ji worked for nation-building. This is our culture”.

Rahul was later slammed for his politicisation by social media users, who were quick to remind him about the manner in which his party had ill-treated their own leader PV Narasimha Rao.

It was even alleged that AIIMS had explicitly asked Rahul not to visit for health concerns but he ignored their pleas and went to meet Vajpayee anyway to score political points.

Owaisi attacks Rahul Gandhi for dining with ‘RSS sympathizer’ Pranab Mukherjee

The controversy surrounding former President and former Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to RSS headquarters refuses to die down. At first Mukherjee’s visit was highly criticized by Congress which was followed by a complete meltdown of the ‘liberals’ as he hailed RSS founder Hedgewar as ‘great son of India’. So much so that as per NDTV journalist, Sonia Gandhi had even asked senior leaders to tweet their disappointment on Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to Nagpur.

However, it so happened that Mukherjee and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat essentially said the same thing. Their views on the concept of nationalism, nation and patriotism were quite similar. In fact, the RSS magazine also said that Mukherjee presented a vision for India which only the RSS could fulfil. So-called historians like Ram Guha tried to twist the statements to save their faces.

Despite the displeasure and strong rumours that Congress President Rahul Gandhi had not invited Pranab Mukherjee for the grand iftar party hosted by the former last night, Pranab Mukherjee was present there last night.

However, Mukherjee’s presence does not seem to have gone down quite well with others in the opposition who have branded him an ‘RSS sympathizer’.

Despite liberals trying to spin that Pranab Mukherjee ‘taught lessons’ to the RSS, their favourite Muslim leader seems unconvinced. President of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Party & Member of Parliament Lok Sabha, Asaduddin Owaisi, took a dig at Mukherjee and Rahul by saying how Mukherjee came comfortably to an iftar hosted by a ‘Janeudhari’ after delivering a speech at the RSS head office.

He called the Gandhi sharing the table with Mukherjee the ‘hypocrisy of highest order’. Congress seems to be in a catch-22 situation. Unlike BJP, which has a more or less clear ideology, the Congress seems to get into trouble when it tries to appease one group or the other.

From what it seems, Congress needs to pull up their socks and improvise on their propaganda, as it is neither selling online, on Twitter nor offline, like their anti-BJP ‘United Opposition’ camp, like AIMIM’s Owaisi.

India as an idea : If we are not careful, it might not last the winter

0

I am a stickler for words. I adore words. I worship words. I have an almost insane belief that most problems we face in human life arise due to lack of words and they can be resolved if we can discover appropriate words. We discover our identity in words, and we lose them in words. Nations are built and broken with words. Things obtain their meaning through words and lose their meaning in words.

I remember, a brilliantly made movie. There is a dialogue in the movie which has stayed with me ever since I heard it for the first time in 2000. The dying Emperor of Rome, meets his battle-weary, victorious Army General, General Maximus and they talk. The emperor explains his interpretation of Rome. He says – “There was once a dream that was Rome, you could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish. It was so fragile and I fear that it will not survive the winter.”

The Emperor here is talking about Rome. But there is a pronounced certitude and noticeable universality in the statement. It can be equally applied to any nation, at any point in time. The nation, any nation is not defined by its roads, fields, boundaries. It is not even defined by its people. A nation is defined by the prime idea which represents the basic character of a nation. A nation is as strong and as weak as that central theme, that central idea remains. It is not about armies and arsenals.

In the context of India, we know what that Idea was. It was an idea of Hindutva or Hinduism which breaths into the varied hearts of the people of this nation, irrespective of their faith. Supreme Court had defined it as the way, we, the people of India have lived over last thousands of years.

The Five-Judge bench of the Supreme Court of India in 1966 ruled that “Unlike other religions in the world, the Hindu religion does not claim any one prophet, it does not worship any one god, it does not subscribe to any one dogma, it does not believe in any one philosophic concept, it does not follow any one set of religious rites or performances, in fact, it does not appear to satisfy the narrow traditional features of any religion or creed. It may broadly be described as a way of life and nothing more.” Hinduism or Hindutva is the way people of India, that is Bharat lived.

Since this idea of a uniform and universal idea of living common among all Indians, contradicted with initially the Western expectation and later the leftist hope of eventual Balkanisation of India on the lines of language, religion and castes; there have been attempts to negate it.

The leftists loved to levitate over the mass belief which defined India. Their minds are trained on foreign beliefs, their actions dictated by alien and imported dogmas. They do not like a central idea which defines this great nation. They don’t Hinduism because it is a religion which their ideology is inconsistent with. They hate it because it represents an idea of India which unifies its people. Since they can not take on so many, openly, they create imaginary concepts of Hindutva being different from Hinduism and claim to hate one and not the other.

They understand that this is not a battle of guns. This is a battle of ideas. We are at war. There is an idea which refuses to accept one governing indigenous idea or a central theme of India as a nation. It is a fight for gaining mind space. The land is immaterial. It is the minds that they seek to win. When they erased the entire history of our nation and shouted from the top of their hoarse voices that our history did not begin with Rigvedic settlements, they wanted us to disown our history from which the idea of our nation, India, Bharat emanates, derives its historicity, its differentiation, its identity. They who wore the badges of being anti-nationals, who called Hinduism or Hindutva a regressive identity politics, never hesitated to promote identity politics which ran contrary to the idea of India- based on caste, religion and region.

They were succeeding for quite some time post-independence. They gave us, the people at large, three options for the origin for our nation to choose from – the establishment of Delhi Sultanate, the Advent of British Raj or the Partition of India. If you went beyond that, you were fanatic and a bigot. If you spoke about the tumultuous history of India under the tyranny of Islamic or British rule, again you were fanatic or a bigot.

Opening up the wounds of the past does not help anyone. Just as opening up the history of the so-called Brahminical injustice of faraway centuries to create a social imbalance in the present makes no sense. But they, the left-liberals, are fine with one but opposed to the other. A regional, casteist and communal identity furthered their agenda, a National identity was at cross-purpose with their objective. The government, the ecosystem under earlier government, was working for them, as under the socialist- communist ecosystem of Congress, they controlled all the thought-centres. It was a wonderful situation. They carried zero responsibility and enjoyed huge power. They controlled the narrative, they defined the idea which is India, as per their liking. They were happily preparing India for breaking up, while controlling the minds, much like 1984 of George Orwell. They had no need to directly become a part of the government when they could run it by proxy. Then the government changed.

The happily conceived plan of running the nation without accountability received the jolt. NAC and such extra-constitutional power structures came crumbling down. Ministers who would direct the law and order agencies to create narratives and kill narratives violence were suddenly busy covering the trails of their own corruption.

Now, what seems to be happening is that being smoked out after 2014, snakes are coming out of their holes. Once out of their dark holes, they find the snake-charmers out waiting for them, with cash and committee both on offer, in return for creating a havoc in the nation, getting them back to power.

From opposing the democratic politics for long, now they are getting into the thick of it. Candidates are being propped with Naxal and Jihadi link. Electoral alliances are being struck with organizations under investigation for terror links. If we are not careful, law and order conniving with criminals will be a thing of past; criminals will be a part of it, they will run it. Congress is desperate and does not mind stepping over the corpses to reach the throne again.

Today we have Home Minister reporting to the nation about how we are winning the war over the Naxals, if things continue unchecked, in the Congress scheme of things, we might have a Naxal as a Home Minister as a part of the poll alliance. We are already witnessing Congress forming governments which officially and shamelessly claims not to be accountable to the people.

It is not the time to tolerate the politics of platitude. It is not a time to encourage rhetoric. It is not a time for witty wickedness. It is a time to speak and to be counted, stand to be noticed. It is the nation which is at stake. Our identity of India, that is Bharat, is at stake. The ocean is churning and in the end, we will have a gulf cutting across the muddy waters. Once this storm settles down, we will find where we are left standing.

This battle will be fought in the minds of its people. We need to learn our history and reclaim our past, our true identity, which transcends the divisive agenda. Go back and know ourselves. Is that not the first step before we step into a battle, any battle? This war will be fought internally as well as externally. It is a war on our national conscience. Did Dr Ambedkar not warn us about this in his speech, The Grammar of Anarchy, exactly what the leftists and the so-called Ambedkarites are trying to perpetrate on our nation when he said- “Will Indians place the country above their creed or will they place creed above country? I do not know. But this much is certain that if the parties place creed above country, our independence will be put in jeopardy a second time and probably be lost forever. This eventuality we must all resolutely guard against. We must be determined to defend our independence with the last drop of our blood.”

We are on the cusp of change. If we are not careful, even history will not remember us. The minds which were earlier content playing through their foot soldiers in the dense forests of Chattisgarh and deep valleys of Kashmir are out in open. Haven’t we seen professors and journalists debating and sometimes commenting – We must stop Modi, we have to fight against him?

They are brilliant minds, who ruled over us without being in power. They are out of their caves, down from their ivory towers and they are angry about it. They are making alliances, creating a narrative. They stepped in and took over an innocent and frustrating war of the people against corruption. Now the veils are down, daggers are out in the open. We see fake narratives being built, imaginary fault-lines being created and then, dug further deep.

The Social media presence now spills on to real life. You take most civilized offence on their most offensive word, and you will be pounced upon as fascist. You make the most factual and innocent remark which goes against their agenda, they will come together like a pack of wolves to hunt you down. What they are not able to do in India, they do elsewhere.

We are busy winning our silly skirmishes on social media, as they hound the innocents. Each vote we cast, each election we partake in, each debate we participate in, defines the world we leave behind, decides what lives our kids we will offer to our kids. Will they be a green, happy leaf on the Banyan tree of world’s oldest civilization or will they be a rootless, dead, dry leaf, left to float unconnected with the world around them, helpless in a hostile wind? Every word, every soul counts. A nation, well, a nation is just an Idea. A very fragile one. If we are not careful, it might not last the winter.

Modi government proceeds to form strict rules to punish NRI husbands who abandon or harass spouse

An inter-ministerial panel is considering to implement very strict rules to address thousands of complaints received by the respective ministries of cases where NRI husbands either abandon or harass their wives. According to reports, the panel met yesterday and decided to implement stricter rules.

The panel includes MEA Sushma Swaraj, WCD Maneka Gandhi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. According to reports, the inter-ministerial panel has decided to make registration of marriage mandatory for the NRIs and update their passports with their marital status. Failure to update their marital status in passports within a stipulated time might even get the passports of the NRIs revoked. The group of ministers have reportedly decided that soon the necessary changes will be made in the Passport Act.

The Law Ministry has reportedly agreed to incorporate the necessary clause in the Registrations of Birth and Deaths Act, 1969. The panel also reportedly decided to put up the legal summons for absconding NRIs on the official website of the Ministry of External Affairs. Such summons will be then considered ‘deemed to have been served’. This decision has been taken after considering the fact that hundreds of NRIs simply do not respond to the legal summons or just keep changing their addresses to avoid the summons. The Home Ministry has already agreed to changes in the Code of Criminal Procedure that will consider the summons on the MEA website as ‘served’.

The ministries of external affairs and women and child development have reportedly suggested the attachment of properties owned by the NRI husband in the country in case he abandons his wife. But the law ministry has reportedly suggested that the in case the husband does not own properties, the attachment of shared parental property might not be legally tenable. The Law Ministry has reportedly been asked by the panel to consider the proposal and revert with suggested ways within a week’s time.

The passports of NRIs who do no responds to legal summons will also be revoked. The panel has agreed that the necessary amendments in the Code of Criminal Procedure, Registrations and Passport Acts will be worked upon and after legal scrutiny, the moves will be shaped into a cabinet proposal.

Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh had reportedly informed the parliament last year that since 2015, the MEA has received about 3328 complaints from missions abroad about marital disputes with spouses. The problems range from husbands abandoning their wives in India after marrying, seizing their passports abroad and preventing travel, abandoning wives in another country and sending wives back home and keeping her away from children.

Aam Aadmi Party crosses all lines of decency, puts up insensitive poster during protests

0

Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal has created an army of crass zombies who think they’re being disruptive in the Indian political landscape when they’re actually just being a nuisance. On 13th June protest march against the Delhi LG Anil Baijal carried out by Aam Aadmi Party supporters, a poster had reportedly been spotted which read as an ‘appeal’ by all Delhi citizens.

The insensitive poster appeared in a protest march carried out by Aam Aadmi Party.

‘Delhi demands before Atal, take away Anil’. The poster refers to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India, whose ailing health is being used by politicians like Congress President Rahul Gandhi to score political points. Reaching a new low in politics, AAP demanded ‘dismissal’ of Anil before ‘dismissal’ of Atal, using the term ‘dismissal’ as a creative euphemism. However, AAP seems to have distanced itself from the poster claiming the poster was not by them and got the poster removed.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, health minister Satyendra Jain and transport minister Gopal Rai have been camping inside Delhi LG Anil Baijal’s residence at Raj Bhavan demanding LG issues written orders to get IAS officers, who are not even on strike, to get back to work from the strike. Earlier this year, in February, Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash had accused that AAP MLAs had assaulted him and threatened him with false cases in front of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. The IAS Association took a strong stand against the incident and condemned it. The Association wrote that while they will continue to work, they will register their protest against the incident by wearing a black badge. In fact, on 11th June as well, the IAS Association had released a statement which asserted that there has been no strike and they have been working all these months, sometimes, even on holidays.

This is not the first time the Delhi LG has faced such insensitivity from people associated with the Aam Aadmi Party. In May, following his nephew Vinay Bansal’s arrest in connection to PWD scam, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal took to Twitter to hit out on the Delhi LG in what appeared to be a veiled threat to ‘stop harassing’ her widowed sister. Arvind Kejriwal, too, has left no stone unturned when it comes to lowering bars of decency, from dishing out defamatory statements to allegedly assaulting his chief secretary.

‘Quit BJP in 15 days or die’ : Muslim BJP MLA from Assam receives threat letter with bullets

Aminul Haque Laskar, the lone Muslim MLA for the BJP in Assam, has received a threat letter wherein he is asked to quit the BJP if he wants to stay alive, New Indian Express has reported. Laskar is a MLA from southern Assam’s Sonai constituency.

Going by the report, the letter along with two live bullets was received by the MLA on Saturday via India Post. As per a Hindustan Times report, these bullet are believed to be of a .32 pistol. The three page letter written in red ink was supposedly sent by an organisation named, “Save Secure and Development Protection Force of Muslim, Barak Valley Zone”.

Written in Bengali, the letter criticises Laksar for being associated with the BJP and RSS, despite being a Muslim. It also claimed that the MLA is responsible for convincing Muslim youths to join the BJP and even speaking up against his own community.

Following this, the letter expressed anger at Laskar supporting the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 – which aims at legalising persecuted illegal migrants belonging to Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Christianity.

Irked by Laskar’s support to the bill, the letter warns that his building can be destroyed within two minutes and he won’t survive, despite all the security around him. The letter thus demanded that Laskar quit the BJP within 15 days if he wished to stay alive.

As per a NeNow report, the threat letter was signed by a man named “Haidar Hussain Khan” who claimed to be the vice-president of the said organisation. Following the receiptal of the letter, the MLA filed a complaint at the Silchar Sadar police station.

The MLA while speaking to the media claimed that his security had been reviewed following the threats, and a total of four security guards would protect him. Besides this, he claimed that more CCTV cameras will be installed at his home.

VIDEO: ‘The OpIndia Recap’ with Sham Sharma : Maoist plot to assassinate Prime Minister Modi

0

We are back with another episode of ‘The Opindia Recap’ by Sham Sharma, an MBA student at the Roosevelt University, Chicago and a sales professional.

Letters surfaced recently which spoke about an elaborate plan by the Maoists to eliminate Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a “Rajiv Gandhi style incident”. Surprisingly, the letter also mentioned how the Maoists were in contact with the Congress party for legal and financial help.

This came soon after 5 Maoists, one of whom was Rona Wilson, were arrested in connection with the Bhima Koregaon violence.

No sooner had the letter surfaced, did the “liberals” start making light of it and questioning its authenticity.

Sham tears into the liberals here and dissects the assassination plot as detailed in the letter.

Congress and AAP, a love hate relationship or pure opportunism?

0

In an interview to WION, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken has stated that the Aam Aadmi Party is being rejected by the people of Delhi and the Congress should not supply it with political oxygen. He even added that Congress should not get into a political alliance with AAP for 2019 general elections. This comes both as surprising and amusing because just days ago AAP had declared that Congress has sought their alliance.

Aam Aadmi Party was founded on the basis of a promise to challenge the corruption of Congress and its leaders. Arvind Kejriwal gathered media highlights and political posturing from the ‘India against corruption’ movement and launched his own political party. But the people of Delhi soon discovered that AAP was just Congress (or worse) in a new packaging.

Kejriwal had made big claims that he would expose the corruption of Sheila Dixit and provide clean and fair governance to Delhi. Exposing Sheila Dixit was quickly forgotten and instead, Delhi landed in a mess of anarchist, lying and misleading bullies.

Over the years, Congress and AAP have shown a strange pattern in their love-hate relationship. They unite against the BJP, but when the narrative does not suit their respective agendas, they kick each other off. In recent times, it has only got more and more predictable. In the meantime, issues of Delhi remain unsolved. Just like their alliance government that lasted only months, the AAP-Congress relationship, like their politics, is based only on gains and personal agendas.

In the past, AAP and Congress have ganged up whenever there was an opportunity to blame and criticise the central government, be it the imaginary issues of EVM tampering or demonetisation. When one looks at their rhetorics and actions over the years, it becomes increasingly clear that both parties have no respect for ideological values whatsoever. AAP nominated Sushil Gupta, a businessman who was a former Congress leader and vocal Kejriwal critic to the Rajya Sabha. Ajay Maken had expressed his surprise and disappointment over Gupta’s party hopping at that time.

Recently AAP and Congress reportedly had an ‘informal discussion’ about seats about a pre-2019 alliance against BJP. AAP had claimed that senior leaders of Congress have sought AAP’s co-operation in the upcoming general elections in Delhi. Barely a day had passed when AAP hosted its official iftar party in Delhi and not a single Congress leader, was there to be seen. Not a single AAP leader has been invited to the grand iftar being hosted by Rahul Gandhi in the capital’s Taj Palace Hotel later today.

For the last few days, the ever-dramatic AAP has decided to target the Delhi Lieutenant Governor again and blame him and BJP for all their failures. The constant excuse of the LG not letting them work was condemned by former Congress CM Sheila Dikshit too.

The fact that Congress is willing to go to desperate measure to secure power is well demonstrated in the aftermaths of Karnataka elections. Congress, which has 80 assembly seats as of today, handed over the CM’s chair to JDS over a silver platter. The party went into some extraordinary lengths to secure just a fragment of power in Karnataka. The fact that its senior leaders are showing such apprehension over an alliance with AAP only strengthens the speculations that AAP has fallen beyond political salvation.
