United States: Adult film star Sophia Leone dies at 26, fourth death in the industry in 3 months, investigation underway as homicide

Porn star Sophia Leone passed away at the age of 26 in the United States, earlier this month, as confirmed by the deceased’s family. According to her stepfather, the 26-year-old was reportedly found unresponsive on 1st March when her family tried to connect with her over a phone call. She was later declared dead. According to reports, the cause of her death is under investigation but the authorities have ruled out a suicide angle and are investigating it as a “home-invasion homicide”.

The news of her death was confirmed by her stepfather Mike Romeroon on a crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe. On Saturday (9th March 2024), on behalf of the family, Romero issued an official statement confirming their daughter’s demise.

The family’s official statement read, “On behalf of her mother and family, it is with a heavy heart that I have to share the news of our beloved Sophia’s passing. The sudden loss of Sophia has left her family and friends devastated and in shock.”

The statement was shared on a GoFundMe page where Leone’s stepfather sought funds from the supporters of the deceased adult film star to cover her funeral expenses.

Romero added, “On top of the difficult process of grieving and seeking justice for Sophia, the family is also facing the financial burden that they were not prepared for.”

According to reports, on behalf of Veronica Lopez (Sophia’s mother), Romero has raised over $6,000 so far while seeking a total crowdfund of $12,000.

As per reports, an investigation is underway to find out the exact cause of her death. The cops, however, have ruled out the suicide angle and are investigating the case as ‘home invasion homicide’.

Fourth reported death in the porn industry in a short span

Sophia Leone’s demise is the fourth reported incident of death in the porn industry in the past three months.

Previously, Kagney Linn Karter was reported to have died by suicide at her home in the US. Emily Willis also passed away at the age of 25 allegedly due to a drug overdose. In January, Jesse Jane was found deceased in Oklahoma alongside her boyfriend.

Several netizens have expressed apprehension alleging that these recurrent deaths in the adult film industry could be linked and a result of their speaking out against the industry.

An X user wrote, “First Emily Willis and now Sophia Leone. This is what happens when you speak up and expose the porn industry. They kill you when you speak the truth.”

Another user added, “All these adult film stars are committing suicide, a few weeks ago Kagney Linn Karter committed suicide at the age of 36, Emily Willis overdosed a few weeks ago at the age of 25, and now Sophia Leone.”

Suicidal pilot Zaharie Ahmad deliberately buried missing Malaysian flight MH370 with 239 passengers in a sea trench committing mass murder-suicide: Expert

The Malaysian MH370 flight with 239 passengers that went missing in March 2014 could be buried beneath the seafloor after its ‘suicidal’ pilot Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah deliberately submerged it into the ocean, committing mass murder-suicide. British Boeing expert Simon Hardy, who was part of the official search for the Boeing 777, made the explosive observation.

Notably, the flight disappeared over the South China Sea on 8th March 2014 and was never found. A year later, in 2015, Simon Hardy was asked to join the Australian Transport Safety Bureau to trace the missing plane. The flight disappeared 39 minutes after it left Kuala Lumpur for Beijing with 239 passengers and crew members on board.

“I am an expert in the MH370 search – I know how a ‘suicidal’ pilot perfectly entombed plane and passengers beneath the ocean,” Hardy was quoted as saying by The Sun newspaper.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun on the tenth anniversary of the flight’s disappearance, Simon Hardy noted that he believes that the plane was downed in a never-before-searched spot where it would be lost forever.

Hardy told The Sun that he believes the plane’s pilot, Captain Zaharie, had planned to kill everyone onboard — and took sick pleasure in executing his suicidal plan. The premier US agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) also came to a similar conclusion in its initial investigation.

Regarding the pilot, Hardy said, “As a meticulous planner, would that add another level of satisfaction? It makes a nice destination rather than randomly ditching it in the sea, miles from anywhere.”

According to Hardy, Zaharie may have taken sick pleasure in carrying out his plan – and it may have been enjoyable attempting to make a passenger plane disappear forever.

As per the report, British Boeing expert Hardy used the best flight simulators in the world to pinpoint the jet’s location. He determined that Zaharie (53) aimed to bury the plane in the Geelvinck Fracture Zone. The trench is spread across hundreds of miles under the southern Indian Ocean, making it easier to ‘disappear’ the plane.

However, before Hardy could prove his theory, the search operation for the missing MH370 flight was called off in 2017. Yet, he is convinced that the plane ended up in the earthquake-prone area.

Hardy said, “If you did manage to get [the plane] in there, you might find you get it buried after a few years by rocks, so it might even be at the bottom of the sea, covered.”

‘Troubled and Lonely’ Captain Zaharie Ahmad was ‘self-destructive’: Psychologists and fellow pilots

According to reports, psychologists had claimed that Captain Zaharie Ahmad was “self-destructive” after his creepy Facebook messages to young Instagram model twins surfaced. Fellow pilots also said that Zaharie was “troubled and lonely” as his marriage had crumbled.

Speaking with The Atlantic, an unnamed fellow pilot said, “Zaharie’s marriage was bad. In the past, he slept with some of the flight attendants.”

They also said that the pilot became ‘obsessed’ with following models on Facebook and sent sexual comments, and messages begging them to come to Kuala Lumpur.

Apart from the pilot’s ‘self-destructive’ claim, British expert Hardy based his theory on other clues. As per reports, it was revealed that the pilot had requested additional fuel and extra oxygen only for the cockpit, and not for the cabin before the flight took off. According to reports, the most likely theory is that Zaharie either killed or incapacitated his co-pilot before depressurising the cabin to slowly kill everyone on board.

Further, Hardy’s theory also gains support because of the lack of debris and strange satellite signs, or “handshakes” between the satellite and the flight’s satellite communication system.

Hardy said that the extra fuel and oxygen would have allowed Zaharie to fly the plane without detection for an additional seven hours into the middle of nowhere, with the passengers and crew falling unconscious before he ditched the jet.

He added, “Imagine Miracle on the Hudson but everyone is already dead. Nobody gets out and it sinks to the bottom of the Southern Indian Ocean. Where does all the wreckage go? Well, there isn’t any, that’s why we’ve been deprived of wreckage.”

According to reports, Only a few parts of the missing plane were found, including a piece of wing called a flaperon. It washed up on the island of Reunion, around 425 miles west of Madagascar. French experts determined it had been pointing downward.

Hardy further noted, “If the flaps were down … then someone is moving a lever and it’s someone who knows what they are doing. It all points to the same scenario.”

Internal fight between I.N.D.I. Alliance continues: Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam mocks Uddhav Thackeray after Uddhav declares candidate for a Mumbai Lok Sabha seat

On Saturday (9th March), Uddhav Thackeray announced Amol Kirtikar as the Shiv Sena UBT‘s nominee for the Mumbai North-West Lok Sabha constituency, despite ongoing discussions within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) regarding seat allocations. Uddhav Thackeray announced this during his address to party members in the constituency, despite ongoing inconclusive discussions among the MVA allies regarding seat-sharing.

This decision from Uddhav Thackeray angered his alliance partner Congress. The Congress party leader Sanjay Nirupam took to social media platform X to mock Uddhav Thackeray over this. He called Uddhav Thackeray the chief of ‘bachi khuchi’ Shiv Sena.

The candidate announced by Uddhav Thackeray, Amol Kirtikar, his father, Gajanan Kirtikar, currently holds the seat as a Member of Parliament and is associated with the rival faction of Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has expressed interest in contesting for the seat many times during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, Thackeray’s premature announcement escalated tensions within the state alliance partners, who are also part of the national-level opposition alliance known as the ‘I.N.D.I. Alliance’.

Sanjay Nirupam said in his X post, “Yesterday evening, the chief of the remaining Shiv Sena declared the Maha Vikas Aghadi candidate from North West Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency in Andheri. Receiving calls since night. How can this happen? Despite two dozen meetings of MVA, the final decision on seat sharing has not been taken yet. This seat is also among the 8-9 seats which are pending, this is what the Congress colleagues who are participating in the seat-sharing meetings have told me.”

Nirupam added, “Then isn’t announcing the candidate from Shiv Sena a violation of alliance dharma? Or is such an act being done deliberately to humiliate Congress? The top leadership of Congress should intervene.”

Sanjay Nirupam further said, “Who is the candidate whose name has been proposed by Shiv Sena? He is a scammer of the Khichdi scam. He has taken a bribe in check from the Khichdi supplier. What is a Khichdi Scam? During the COVID era, there was a commendable program of providing free food to forced migrant labourers by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Shiv Sena’s proposed candidate has taken commission from the scheme of feeding the poor.”

Sanjay Nirupam also wrote in his post, “ED is investigating this matter. Will Congress and Shiv Sena workers campaign for such a scam candidate? This is my humble question to the leadership of both parties.”

‘As long as Rahul Gandhi is in Congress, it will not rise’, says expelled Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam

Kalki Peethadhishwar Acharya Pramod Krishnam spoke to the media on Sunday (10th March) morning at Kalki Dham in Ekora Kamboh, Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh. In this interaction, the former Congress leader who was recently expelled launched a fierce attack on Rahul Gandhi. Holding Rahul Gandhi directly responsible for the destruction of the Congress, he said that the leaders who were with Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are being insulted today. He said that this disdain would ruin the Congress.

According to a report by Jagran, Acharya Pramod Krishnam said, “As long as Rahul Gandhi is in Congress, Congress will never be able to rise. If you talk to leaders like Kamal Nath, Digvijay, Jitin Prasada, RPN Singh, Anand Sharma, Sushmita Dev, and Ghulam Nabi Azad, the truth will come out itself. Even Priyanka Gandhi herself is barely surviving somehow within the Congress.”

Criticising the I.N.D.I. Alliance, he said, “It is an alliance formed by thieves who are backstabbing each other. This alliance cannot compete with Modi. The public is with Modi, and Modi’s government will be formed for the third time at the centre.”

When asked about Mayawati, he said, “Mayawati ji is sensible. She knows that it would not be a fair decision to join the group of thieves. Congress is also responsible for Kamal Nath’s plight in Madhya Pradesh.”

Notably, on 10th February, an official statement from the grand old party stated that the Congress President had “approved the proposal of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee to expel Pramod Krishnam from the party immediately for six years”. According to the official release, the expulsion was taken following complaints of indiscipline and repeated public statements against the party.

The developments come in the wake of his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite him to the foundation stone laying ceremony on 19th February. Notably, Acharya Pramod Krishnam is the head of Shri Kalki Dham which will host the foundation laying ceremony. For those unversed, Lord Kalki will be the last avatar (reincarnation) of Lord Vishnu in Kalyug, the last Yug in the cyclical time.

Cross-border Love Jihad: Israfil Ansari pretends to be Munna Mahato to trap a minor Nepali Hindu girl, brings her to Nainital and marries in temple, rescued

A fresh instance of love jihad has surfaced in the Nainital area of Uttarakhand where 24-year-old Mohammad Israfil Ansari alias Dara Ansari was residing with a 16-year-old girl from Nepal. He deceived and married her in a temple. He has been arrested following a complaint by a non-governmental organization (NGO) and the girl was found by the authorities on 6th March.

The matter pertained to the Bhimtal area of Uttarakhand. According to a statement from the non-profit Mission Mukti Foundation, the accused is a resident of Nepal’s Parsabirgunj and the victim is from Shivpur in Nepal. He befriended her on Instagram and introduced himself as Munna Mahato. She fell into his trap as he built fantasies about marriage with her.

Afterwards, on 11th December of last year, the minor girl eloped with him and reached Uttarakhand from Nepal. Her family members started searching for her when she went missing from her home. Her mother received a call from a WhatsApp number after around a month and the caller told her to forget about her daughter. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) station in the Betia region of Bihar then received a complaint from the Nepali parents.

The family received assistance in their efforts from Virender Kumar Singh, president of the non-governmental organization, Mission Mukti Foundation. The SSB unit emailed the Nainital Senior Superintendent of Police requesting aid in finding the underage female.

The perpetrator had tricked the girl by posing as a Hindu and brought her from Nepal to Nainital. They settled down in Bhimtal and tied the knot with her in a temple at Ghodakhal. He sexually assaulted the minor girl on numerous occasions during this time.

One day the man left the phone in the house and went somewhere, when one of his relatives called him. She picked up the phone and the caller asked to speak to Israfil Ansari after which she came to know about the true identity of the man she married, however, she was helpless.

On the other hand, the Nainital police had begun their investigation against him and eventually, they found his location. He was then nabbed from Bhimtal and the girl was rescued.

A case has been submitted and Mohammad Israfil Ansari has been booked under several sections including rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl reported that he had frequently discussed going to Kerala with her. The police are now attempting to figure out the complete motivation behind the crime.

Gujarat: Illegal dargah in Junagadh, where Muslim mob created a ruckus in 2023, bulldozed in a midnight operation by the municipal corporation

0

The Junagadh Municipal Corporation has conducted a significant operation, resulting in the demolition of the disputed Dargah near Majewadi Gate in the city, which was illegally constructed. Additionally, other religious encroachments were also cleared. Notably, the dargah at Majewadi Gate had been the focal point of a riot last year when a Muslim mob created a ruckus against the issuance of an encroachment removal notice.

The dargah was located near the Majewadi gate. Junagadh Municipal Corporation team removed it in a bulldozer action at night. A heavy police force was deployed at this time. At present, the place has been completely vacated. The debris was also taken away overnight. The operation was carried out late at night.

The operation to demolish the Dargah commenced at 2 a.m. amidst the presence of approximately 1000 police officers. By 5 a.m., the entire road was cleared as the Dargah was completely flattened. A barricade spanning 300-400 meters was set up in advance. This Dargah, built nearly two decades ago near Majwadi Darwaza, steadily expanded over time. Previous attempts were made to dismantle this illegally occupied Dargah, which obstructed the road.

The dargah, located near Majewadi Gate, was illegally built and the civic body had issued a notice in June 2023 to remove it. But as soon as the notice was received, the Muslim mob started gathering near the dargah. When the police went to convince them at night, the Muslim mob fiercely attacked the police personnel in which many policemen were injured.

An FIR filed later in the case revealed that the frenzied mob attacked the policemen with the slogan of ‘Allahu Akbar’ to kill them. Meanwhile, an ST bus was also targeted and stones were thrown and several vehicles were also torched. An innocent Hindu man was killed in the incident.

After all, the administration of Junagadh has demolished this controversial dargah. However, some other religious pressures have also been removed. These include the Jalaram temple near the lake gate and the temple of Ramdevpir on the railway station road. However, the Hindu community respected the law and extended full support to the system. All these actions took place at night.

Bulldozer action in Gujarat for the last several days

For the past several days, the Gujarat state government has been actively addressing encroachments, resulting in the removal of illegal structures across various locations. Just 24 hours ago, three unauthorised madrassas were demolished in Khavda, Kutch. The local administration utilised bulldozers to clear these illegally constructed institutions. Additionally, on Friday (8th March), bulldozers were employed to reduce to rubble two illegal bungalows built by the notorious criminal Razzaq Saicha and his brother in Jamnagar.

UK: Syrian refugee Omar Badreddin, who was portrayed as a victim by BBC, found guilty of raping a minor multiple times with three others

On 1st March, Syrian refugees identified as Omar Badreddin and his brother Mohamed Badreddin along with two others identified as Huzaefa Aleboud and Hamoud Al Soaimi, were sentenced by Newcastle Crown Court in UK to a combined sentence of 38.5 years for raping a 13-year-old minor girl multiple times between August 2018 and April 2019. Interestingly, Omar was painted as a victim of wrong arrest in 2016 when he was found “not guilty” of raping a minor. While Omar, Mohamed and Huzaefa were found guilty of raping the victim multiple times, Hamoud was found guilty of sexually assaulting the victim. Notably, during the trial it was revealed that Hamoud also raped a 12-year-old.

As per the victim’s testimony, her attackers tortured her and made her life a living nightmare. According to Judge Amanda Rippon, the victim was already in an extremely vulnerable situation when she met the convicts in Newcastle. She was groomed with alcohol and cigarettes by the convicts and later abused repeatedly near the castle in Newcastle city centre and behind a burger restaurant. Prosecutor Anne Richardson said that Mohamed was aggressive and rough with the victim. Reports suggest that Omar raped the victim at least seven times. He also threatened to kill her or take her to another country if she failed to comply with her demands.

Furthermore, Judge Rippon pointed out that the Badreddin brothers were the leaders of the gang. They quickly identified that the victim could be “manipulated” and “groomed”. They treated the victim as a toy and found it “entertaining” to exploit her for sex. Judge Rippon said, “Even when she begged you to treat her more kindly and told you truthfully she was harming herself and could not cope, you made fun of her.”

Omar, Mohamed and Huzaefa have been directed by the court to sign the sexual offenders for life. Hamoud has been directed to sign the register for 10 years. Omar, who is now 26 years old, has been found guilty of six counts of rape and sentenced to 18 years in prison. Mohamed, who is now 23 years old, has been found guilty of six counts of rape and one count of assault by penetration. He has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. 23-year-old Huzaefa has been found guilty of assault by penetration, two counts of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been sentenced to 5.5 years in prison. 21-year-old Hamoud has been found guilty of three counts of sexual assault and one count of assault by penetration. He has been jailed for two years and suspended for two years with 180 hours of unpaid work.

In 2016, Omar was arrested for raping a minor. However, after two weeks, the case was dropped. His family’s story was covered by BBC in a documentary titled “To hell and back: the story of a Syrian family given refuge in the UK”. BBC covered his family’s 11-month journey from Syria to Newcastle as part of the resettlement program for Syrian refugees.

Interestingly, when the documentary was being shot, BBC became aware of the criminal case against him. At that time, Omar was 18-year-old and he was accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old minor girl. But for several weeks BBC refrained from publishing this detail. And when they finally talked about the allegations, they focussed on its impact on community tensions.

Two weeks into the trial, the defence barristers requested the court to dismiss the case which was accepted. The defence argued that there was a significant translation error during the police interrogation that invalidated the evidence. At that time, Omar and his co-accused did not speak English.

Following the trial, BBC’s Newsnight journalist Katie Razall interviews Omar’s family. During the interview, Omar said, “I felt she [the victim girl] didn’t want foreigners in this country and that is why she made up the whole story.” BBC’s journalist did not challenge the claims laid down by Omar against the victim. She added, “That, believes Omar Badreddin, was at the heart of the case against them.”

Furthermore, she added, “The Syrian men in many ways appeared less sexually experienced than the girls they were supposed to have attacked.” Razall also wrote an article on the documentary where she said, “The family told me ever since their son’s arrest, they have felt humiliated and dishonoured, even though they were certain their son was innocent. In Syrian culture, this type of accusation is so damaging to their reputation, that even though Omar Badreddin has been cleared, they fear the stigma of it will stick.”

However, the police continued to pursue the case after it was initially dismissed and presented a strong case in the court. The two victims, aged 12 and 14 years, bravely came forward to narrate what had happened to them, and the Northumbria were able to gather enough evidence. The four men were charged with multiple offences, including rape and sexual assault, and they were found guilty in October 2023. And on 1 March 2024, the court awarded the sentences to the convicts.

Among them, Omar Badreddin, labelled ‘victim’ by BBC has been sentenced to 18 years in prison. His brother Mohamed Badreddin was given 13 years.

Accusing BBC of poor editorial judgment, Conservative former UK minister Neil O’Brien said, “The BBC showed remarkably poor editorial judgment in commissioning this fawning documentary, more interested in airing an unchallenged accusation that a 14-year-old girl was a racist who had made up a rape accusation. Given that they smeared a young girl as sexually experienced and failed to challenge the racism accusations made by someone who turns out to be a dangerous sexual predator, you would hope there would be a bit more contrition, but I don’t see any signs so far that any lessons are being learned from this shocking, appalling case”.

Speaking on the matter, a BBC spokesperson said that the channel can only report on the facts as they stand at the time, which the channel did in 2016. “In 2015 and 2016, Newsnight followed the story of the Badreddin family, who were Syrian refugees who had settled in the UK. In 2016, their son Omar was tried for sexual assault and found not guilty. Two years afterwards, in 2018 and 2019, Omar Badreddin and his brother Mohamed committed multiple counts of rape. They were found guilty and were jailed on 1 March 2024. The BBC reported this. In any situation, the BBC can only report on the facts as they stand at the time, which is what we did in 2016. The Badreddins’ subsequent crimes are appalling, and we express our sincere sympathies to their victim.”

UK has a serious problem of Muslim grooming gangs. OpIndia’s detailed reports on the matter can be checked here.

‘Suspended’ TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan booked for attempt to murder, produced before Basirhat court

Days after the arrest of Sheikh Shahjahn in connection to the attack on Enforcement Directorate and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel, the CBI has now booked the ‘suspended’ Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader for ‘attempt to murder.’

As per reports, a total of 3 FIRs were lodged against him in two cases of assault against ED officials and CAPF personnel. The CBI has included ‘attempt to murder’ in two FIRs filed against Sheikh Shahjahan under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 307.

The FIRs were submitted at the Basirhat Sub-Divisional Court in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. On Friday (8th March), the CBI concluded a search at the residence of Sheikh Shahjahan.

On Sunday (10th March), TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan was taken from the CBI office at Nizam Palace in Kolkata and produced before the Sub-Divisional Court in Basirhat.

The court will deliver a verdict on his custody. It must be mentioned that Sheikh Shahjahan has already spent 10 days in police remand.

Last month, Sheikh Shahjahan reportedly admitted to encouraging a crowd to attack an Enforcement Directorate team in January this year.

Sandeshkhali horror

On 8th February this year, hundreds of women in Sandeshkhali took to the streets to protest against land grabbing, non-payment of wages and sexual violence committed by Trinamool Congress goon Sheikh Shahjahan and his two aides Shiba Prasad Hazra and Uttam Sardar.

The women attacked Shahjahan’s illicitly obtained properties and set fire to a poultry farm owned by Shiba Prasad Hazra. They also surrounded the Sandeshkali police station and demanded the immediate arrest of the trio. The agitation in the village lasted for 3 days.

During that time, the TMC goons retaliated and the police acted as mute spectators. In several cases, the cops themselves resorted to harassment of the women. It had come to light that the residents were the subject of sexual violence by the TMC for a long time.

In a bid to pacify the angry villagers of Sandeshkhali, the TMC leadership suspended Uttam Sardar from the party for six years. The suspended TMC leader and Zilla Parishad member was subsequently arrested in the Sandeshkhali police station area on 10th February 2024.

On 17th February, the police arrested TMC leader Shibu Prasad Hazra over land grabbing and sexual exploitation of women in Sandeshkhali.

After large-scale protests and intervention of the Calcutta High Court, the primary accused Sheikh Shahjahan was arrested on Thursday (29th February).
