Madhya Pradesh: Man kills wife and 2 children before committing suicide in Ujjain following a fight over their pet dog

Following a dispute over their pet dog, a 45-year-old man reportedly killed his wife and two children with a sword in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district. Afterwards, he proceeded to commit suicide. The incident happened early on the morning of 20 August at the family’s residence in the Badnagar neighbourhood which is around 50 kilometres from the district administrative centre.

According to reports, Dilip Pawar reached home after drinking alcohol on Saturday night. After some time, he began beating their pet dog at around one in the night angry over its presence in the house. His 40-year-old wife Ganga intervened asking him to leave the animal alone. This led to a fight between the two, and he attacked her with a sword, killing her in a fit of rage.

When their 14-year-old son Yogendra and 17-year-old daughter Neha tried to protect their mother, he killed them also with the sword. His other two children, Devendra and Bulbul went up to the terrace after seeing the horrific incident and jumped from there to flee the house for safety.

Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Mahendra Singh Parmar stated that after some time, the accused stabbed himself at his home with a sharp object. He revealed that the latter was an avid alcoholic per the preliminary inquiry.

He conveyed, “Right now, we can’t say confidently that he was drunk when he killed his wife and two children. The investigation is on.” The perpetrator was unemployed for some months. He used to earn money with the help of a freight vehicle but sold it some time ago, according to the policeman.

He added, “After getting information at around 5 am, we rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.” Police announced that a forensic science laboratory team also arrived at the crime scene.

Bihar: Thugs enter government office in Jehanabad, thrash and abuse employee, tell him to work as per their orders at gunpoint

The audacity of criminals is growing every day in Bihar. The latest incident happened on 19 August at Kansua Panchayat Bhawan of Ratni Faridpur block, Jehanabad in Bihar where thugs threatened and thrashed a government employee named Amin Balmukund Kumar. A pistol was also held to his head in order to intimidate him.

The case pertained to the Shakurabad police station area. “This is my territory and I am the authority. No work shall be done here without my approval. I will murder you if you don’t operate according to my orders. Only the gun has been displayed this time. You won’t survive the next time,” was the warning issued to him by Om Prakash alias Badhu Yadav, a resident of Khairuchak village.

The government staff working on the hamlet’s land consolidation have been given offices. The accused arrived at the office along with some of his associates. He threatened and assaulted the victim with belts and sticks for not complying and raised a gun to his head. The entire episode was captured on camera by another employee who was present there.

The perpetrator first entered the office and started bullying the government worker while sitting on a chair. There was initially an argument after which the enraged man stood up, called his people inside and started beating the latter as well as pulled the weapon on him.

Amin Balmukund Kumar narrated the instance. He was working while seated in his office when Om Prakash Yadav arrived with his men and claimed, “You are working in my area without asking us. We are the goons here. Everyone works per our orders. Nothing is done without my permission. If you want to work here, you have to pay money too. Otherwise, we will kill you.”

He mentioned that there were around 12 to 15 individuals. He revealed, “I entered the chamber of my in charge and told him everything. These people then appeared suddenly and began to mistreat him as well. One of them aimed a gun at me. They used belts and sticks. However, everyone started feeling as soon as he announced that the cops were on their way. The nearby villagers had also assembled by that time.”

He disclosed, “He told me that if you want to work here, you have to do it per me, as he was walking away. He stated that I had to work on his orders. He warned that only the gun was shown this time and I won’t make it the following time. Afterwards, they departed the area while brandishing the weapon.”

The entire occurrence is connected to the land. The village is currently undergoing land surveying. The offender wanted to get his work done regarding the same. He had an altercation with government employees about it 15 days ago because they refused to oblige.

Therefore, he marched into the office to pressurise Amin Balmukund Kumar, however, he also objected and conveyed that whatever falls under laws and regulations will be carried out. He proceeded to abuse him as he got incensed. He then started to threaten him and pulled out a pistol.

Police have been notified of the development. Superintendent of Police Jehanabad Deepak Ranjan has informed that he is aware of the issue and asked the concerned station head to look into the matter. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rajeev Kumar Singh visited Shakurabad police station and is looking into the situation. Police are conducting raids to arrest the culprits and they would be arrested very soon.

‘Thappad khayega ya jail me jakar chakki peesega’: Son of a judge threatens Police Officers for towing his SUV from a no-parking zone

0

On Saturday night (19 August), the busy streets of Lucknow’s Hazratganj area witnessed a ruckus for almost half an hour. A man claiming to be the son of a judge hurled abuses and threatened the police officers if they didn’t release his car, which they had towed a little while back from a no-parking zone.

Apparently, the incident unfolded when law enforcement officials, made an announcement with the details of the car via loudspeaker. They repeatedly asked the car owner to remove the vehicle from a no-parking zone. When no one came up to claim the car despite repeated announcements, the officials used a crane and towed the vehicle.

Following the incident, a man arrived on the scene only to find his car missing. He was informed that the Municipal Corporation had taken away the vehicle. The vehicle towed by the traffic police reportedly had “district judge” written on it and had a Ghaziabad license plate.

This action greatly infuriated the young man who identified himself as the son of a judge. He was accompanied by his mother. He went up to the police officers and asked them to immediately release his car. When the Police officers told him that they couldn’t do anything in this regard, the vehicle owner started openly hurling abuses at the police officers, threatening to slap them and use his influence to ruin their lives.

The man even questioned the officers about their authority to tow a car that had district judge written on it. Interestingly, the video of the incident was caught on camera and the purported video is doing rounds on the internet. In the viral video, the man wearing a mask can be seen threatening the cops to face stern action if they don’t release his vehicle immediately. He also threatened to get them imprisoned.

Identifying himself as the judge’s son, the man can be heard saying, “Thappad khaega ya jail me jakar chakki peesega?”

He asked the officers to talk to whomsoever they wanted to but get the vehicle release immediately. However, he refused to speak to the joint commissioner of police at the request of the officers saying he can’t talk to him as he needed to urgently leave.

When the matter escalated it reached the senior police officers who spoke to the judge’s wife. Following the conversation, she agreed to pay a fine of Rs 1,100 for violating the parking rules. Subsequently, the police released the towed vehicle.

Jungle Raj returns in Bihar: Miscreants open fire at SR Grand Restaurant in Muzaffarpur, over 20 rounds fired, no major injuries

A chaotic incident unfolded at a restaurant in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, on 19th August 2023 when a group of unidentified individuals began firing without discretion. Reportedly, over 20 round shots were fired, causing panic and chaos within the restaurant premises. The sudden gunfire led to a stampede-like situation among the approximately 35 guests who were present, with everyone scrambling to ensure their safety. Fortunately, all the guests managed to escape without any major injuries. A woman sustained a minor injury to her hand and she is being treated.

Following the outbreak of gunfire, a sense of panic engulfed the surroundings. Swift action was taken as the incident was promptly reported to the police. Currently, law enforcement authorities are actively engaged in investigating the case, relying on CCTV footage as a crucial source of evidence.

The striking incident of gunfire occurred at SR Grand Restaurant, situated on Rewa Road within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station. According to reports, the incident involved four young individuals who arrived on two motorcycles. One of them approached the counter where Priyanshu, the younger sibling of the restaurant owner Prince Thakur, was seated. This individual inquired about the presence of Prince Thakur, the restaurant operator from Madhubani. Upon learning that Prince Thakur was not present at the restaurant, the individual asked Priyanshu, the younger brother of the owner, to step aside for a conversation.

Right away, Priyanshu, the younger sibling of Prince Thakur, descended from the restaurant. However, when he spotted the group of four individuals on the staircase, he instinctively recognised their malevolent intentions. Priyanshu swiftly retraced his steps back to the restaurant from the stairs. After this, three assailants brandished pistols and started firing at the windows of the restaurant. Over 20 rounds were discharged from the pistols, leading to the shattering of the restaurant’s front glass. Amidst this chaos, a bullet grazed the hand of a female customer on the premises. She was subsequently admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The abrupt gunfire resulted in several other individuals within the restaurant sustaining minor injuries. These injuries were caused by fragments of glass shattered by the shooting. Subsequent to perpetrating this act, the four criminals departed on a motorcycle, proceeding towards Rewa Road. Upon receiving notification of the indiscriminate gunfire, City SP Arvind Pratap Singh, Officer Kundan Kumar of Sadar Police Station, and their respective police teams promptly arrived at the scene.

Arvind Pratap Singh, SP City, said, “At least 10 rounds of firing happened here…prima facie it appears to be a firing to scare people…this was not a firing targeting anybody…we have got information on 4 people who’re involved, efforts to arrest the all the accused underway.”

The entire incident was documented by the restaurant’s CCTV cameras, both inside the eatrey showing the panicked customers and outside showing the shooters. Law enforcement authorities are currently in the process of investigating the case.

It is notable that ever since the Rashtriya Janata Dal has come into power by forming an alliance with Nitish Kumar, such crimes are repeatedly happening in Bihar. This reminds people of the Jungle Raj years of Bihar during the 1990s when Lalu Prasad Yadav of the RJD and then his wife Rabri Devi were the chief ministers of the state.

Akhilesh Yadav gets instantly fact-checked by audience when he alleged no electricity supply in Uttar Pradesh

On 19th August 2023, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav gave an interview to TV News Channel Aaj Tak. Akhilesh Yadav got fact-checked on the spot by the audience present in the program when he alleged that there is no electricity supply in Uttar Pradesh in the 10 years of the Modi government in the centre and the 7 years of the Yogi Adityanath government in the state.

Akhilesh Yadav said, “All the power plants in the state are made by the government of the Samajwadi Party. Today, tell me the name of the power plant if the 10 years of the Modi government in the centre and the 7 years of the Yogi Adityanath government in the state have built any plant. What I am saying is, there is no electricity supply in UP. Nobody knows when the supply starts and when it is interrupted.”

As soon as he said this statement, people in the audience shouted, “Now the supply of electricity in UP is better than that used to be before (during the years of the SP regime). We now get more hours of supply. The power plants you set up were not functioning. They are working only now.”

Then, to save face, Akhilesh Yadav pointed out to a person in the audience and said, “Out of those who are shouting here, this old man looks an educated one. Let him tell me the name of the power plant set up by the BJP government. In fact, there is none. You try to name one. Name at least one power plant they set up.”

All this while people kept shouting about the hours of supply as opposed to Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks that there is no electricity supply in UP. Ignoring that, Akhilesh Yadav kept repeating the power plant set-up thing again and again. In the end, he said, “If at all the BJP wants to send its supporters to such programs, it should send at least some educated persons and not any uneducated people like these.”

It is notable that many of the power plants in Uttar Pradesh were not functioning before the Yogi Adityanath government came to power. Many other power plants used to operate at lower capacities. their production also increased during the Yogi Adityanath government. The state produced its record highest electricity to date in the year 2022-23.

Madhya Pradesh: Bajrang Dal and VHP bust a love jihad case in Barwani just before nikah, Muslim youth booked under rape charges and freedom of religion act

On Friday, 18th August 2023, a case of love jihad surfaced in Barwani of Madhya Pradesh. In the Pala Bazar of a Barwani, a Muslim youth was all set to forcibly marry a Hindu girl through Islamic Nikah rituals when the plan was busted as the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad members barged into the house where the marriage was about to take place.

As soon as the news of the wedding was received, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad reached the spot in large numbers shouting slogans. They stopped the marriage. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad caught the Hindu girl and the Muslim boy and handed them over to the police.

There was a ruckus in the city about this matter. After the initial interrogation, the police registered a case against the boy under the provisions of the Freedom of Religion Act. Besides, the accused Muslim youth was booked for rape.

Police say that the sections against the accused will be increased if other facts come out during the investigation. Amidst all this, the police have denied the rumours of stone-pelting and forcible closure of shops in the city. However, Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad raised some slogans and recited Hanuman Chalisa after the accused was handed over to the police.

Barwani SP Puneet Gahlod said about this case of love jihad, “Kotwali police had received information that an adult girl was being forcibly married. The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Based on the facts that came out after this interrogation, action has been taken against the young man under rape charges and the Freedom of Religion Act. The girl said that the accused also had physical relations with her.”

SP Puneet Gahlod further said, “This is a sensitive matter. There have been some reports in the city that there has been stone pelting between two sides, and shops have been closed. These reports are completely false. The police are fully prepared. There is peace in the city. I appeal to people not to pay heed to rumours. The cyber cell is taking action against those spreading such messages.”

Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Divisional Organisation Head Atishay Joshi said, “A young man from the Muslim community was forcibly marrying a Hindu sister. When our team members came to know about it, they handed them over to the police. There is complete peace in the city. Bajrang Dal did not create any controversy. We also did not argue. We caught the young man and handed him over to the police.”

Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department of Delhi Government booked for raping deceased friend’s daughter

On 11th August, Delhi Police booked a deputy director posted at the Women and Child Development Department of the Delhi Government for allegedly raping a minor girl. The incident came to light after the victim was admitted to St Stephen’s Hospital to treat an anxiety attack. During counselling at the hospital, the victim revealed that the deputy director raped her several times.

The hospital informed Burari Police Station and an FIR was registered. The victim is not in a position to submit her statement in front of a Magistrate under Section 154. The police have questioned the accused and FIR has been registered under Sections 376(2), 506, 509, 323, 313, 120B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and POCSO Act.

In the FIR, the 14-year-old victim accused the deputy director’s wife of involvement as well. As per the police, the victim’s parents were principals in government schools. She is currently studying in class 12th in a school situated in the civil lines area. The victim said in her statement that she often visited the Church with her family, where the deputy director used to come as well with his family. As they were from the same state, the families became friends.

On 1st October 2020, the victim’s father passed away, after which she used to stay stressed. The deputy director brought her to his house. During her stay at his house, he raped her multiple times between November 2020 and January 2021. When the victim got pregnant during that period, his wife asked her to keep quiet. Raghuram Rajan has become a politician, doing shadow-boxing on someone’s behalf: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw slammed the former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan and referred to him as a politician who is “doing shadow-boxing on somebody’s behalf.” Vaishnaw’s comment was in response to a question on the latter’s charge that India is just assembling mobile phones under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) plan and not manufacturing them.

The Union Minister said, “When good economists become politicians, they lose their economic sense. Raghuram Rajan has become a politician. Now, he should come out in the open, fight elections, conduct elections and participate in political activities. Doing shadow-boxing is not good. He is trying to do shadow-boxing on behalf of somebody else.”

Ashwini Vaishnaw also shared that the country is set to add more than 30% value to its electronics production sector over the next two years. Furthermore, he also added that the three businesses would soon produce crucial components for mobile phones for the entire world.

The minister stressed that each country that has begun producing electronics has followed the same process of bringing Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) components, Semi Knocked-Down (SKD), and integrating the final product. The development of various components takes place first after which systems are produced.

He shared that the current global supply chain is so complicated that no country can assert to have a value addition of more than 40%. He maintained that the maximum value addition that any country can claim for its electronics industry is 40%, and India is expected to achieve a value addition of 30% or more in less than two years.

Talking about the former RBI Governor, the minister said, “So, this kind of shadow-boxing Raghuram Rajan is doing is not a fair thing. He is a very well-accomplished economist. I request him to stay as an economist or turn into a politician.”

In a recent interview, Raghuram Rajan criticised Government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and said it is mostly about assembly and not deep manufacturing.

The PLI scheme for mobile phones was notified on April 1, 2020. The scheme extends an incentive of 4 to 6 per cent on incremental sales (over the base year) of mobile phones that are manufactured in India to eligible companies, for a period of five years.

J&K Bank’s chief manager Sajad Ahmad Bazaz sacked over ISI connections, was planted to further separatist agenda

On Saturday, August 20, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank sacked its chief manager Sajad Ahmad Bazaz following an investigation by the Jammu and Kashmir Crime Investigation Department (CID) which found that Bazaz was a deep asset of Pakistan’s ISI. It was found that Sajad Ahmad was planted in the J&K Bank to propagate the agenda of the terrorist-separatist networks through articles in a leading regional daily at the behest of the ISI.

“Whereas the undersigned is satisfied under Rule/Provision 12.29 in OSM that in the interest of the security of the state, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry in the case of Sajad Ahmad Bazaz, Chief Manager, Code no. 4484. Accordingly, I hereby dismiss Mr Sajad Ahmad Bazaz, Chief Manager, Code no. 4484 from service, with immediate effect,” the order issued by J&K Bank’s Managing Director reads.

Reportedly, ISI planted Sajad Ahmad Bazaz in the Jammu and Kashmir Bank back in 1990 through the owner and editor of Greater Kashmir Fayaz Kaloo. Bazaz joined J&K Bank in 1990 as a cashier-cum-clerk and was later promoted to head of internal communication in 2004. Reportedly, a special post of editor equivalent to a gazetted officer was created for him.

Illegally working at Greater Kashmir, Bazaz wrote articles spreading Pakistani propaganda

Bazaz even when employed at Jammu and Kashmir Bank, worked illegally as a correspondent-cum-columnist for Greater Kashmir.

Citing J&K CID sources, several media outlets reported that most of Bazaz’s articles supported and glorified the terrorist-secessionist campaign in Jammu and Kashmir. Published in Greater Kashmir’s weekly columns ‘Off The Record’ and ‘What’s Up’, Bazaz’s opinion pieces, some subtle, while others thin-veiled, furthered the Pakistani approach of seeking UN intervention, tripartite talks, and alleged human rights violations.

It has been said that Sajad Bazaz was using different pen names for his articles in the newspaper to conceal his real identity. While Bazaz initially signed as ‘Sajjad Ahmad’ he modified his name by adding another ‘J’ and dropping his surname. Later, the now-sacked J&K Bank chief manager wrote articles under the byline ‘Sajjad Bazaz’.

Mysterious rise of Pakistani deep asset in J&K Bank from a clerk to gazetted officer

During the investigations, it was reportedly found that eligibility prerequisites of the post were tailored to bring Bazaz in as applications were invited from the cadre of cashier-cum-clerks to apply for the newly created post of editor. Moreover, Bazaz was given three promotions despite not having cleared the Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) exam to date.

Additionally, the requirement for a written test was dropped. Sajad was also given an unfair advantage by having the catchment area limited to the cashier/clerk cadre. The investigators stated that the selection of Bazaz was made despite the fact that “he was rabidly against the Indian state and an open secessionist” by the interview panel, which included the then-chairman of the bank MY Khan, director Haseeb Drabu, chief general manager PZ Lateef, and deputy general manager MA Shah.

Bazaz funded select local newspapers using J&K Bank’s money

The J&K CID said that Bazaz misused his position as an “Editor” for funding specific newspapers and magazines through advertisement money drawn from the coffers of J&K Bank. The investigators found that Greater Kashmir received disproportionately high and favourable advertisement allotments than other news outlets between the years 2015 to 2023. Notably, in the year 2012, there was a sudden surge in pro-Pakistani newspapers and magazines other than Greater Kashmir. This came as Bazaz was instructed by the Pakistani agencies to assist in the setting up of media platforms other than Greater Kashmir to propagate and amplify the Pakistani and Jihadi narrative in an even more vitriolic manner.

It has been found that Sajad Ahmad Bazaz owned and operated around 68 accounts in the J&K Bank. The Pakistani deep state asset was also in touch with terrorist Shabir Hussain Buch, a known aide of Mushtaq Latram, chief of the Al-Umar Islamic terror outfit as well as a close associate of terrorist Masood Azhar, the Jaish e Muhammad chief.

Congress suspends Sunil Jakhar’s nephew, accuses him of anti-party activities including hoisting BJP flag at his house

The Congress Party suspended its Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Punjab from Abohar, Sandeep Jakhar, for indulging in anti-party activities. Sandeep Jakhar is the nephew of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Punjab state President Sunil Jakhar. Notably, Sunil Jakhar was earlier a Congress leader. In May 2022, Sunil Jakhar joined BJP.

All India Congress Committee’s General Secretary Tariq Anwar issued the suspension letter of Sandeep Jakhar. In the letter, it was mentioned that the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, complained about Sandeep that he was indulging in anti-party activities.

Sandeep was accused of not participating in Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY). For those unaware, Bharat Jodo Yatra was a Congress program to “rediscover” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who “walked” around 4,000 KMs from Kanyakumari to Kashmir over four months.

The second accusation made against Sandeep was that the common accommodation where he lived had a BJP flag hoisted atop. In the third accusation, Congress claimed Sandeep spoke against Congress Party and its Punjab President Warring. In the fourth and last accusation, they accused Sandeep of “openly” defending Sunil Jakhar.

Interestingly, in the suspension letter, AICC mentioned the district in Sandeep’s address as Ferozepur. Village Panjkosi is not in district Ferozpur but in district Fazilka which was carved out of Ferozepur in 2011.

Speaking to ANI, Sandeep said, “Party did what they wanted to do. My focus is on my work. I am doing my work. My stand has been clear since day one when Sunil Ji left Congress. My stand is I am with Sunil Ji. In the last year, whatever I did, I did it openly. I did not hide my intentions. The people of Abohar gave me responsibility, and I am fulfilling my duty towards them by raising their voices. I will continue my work in the same manner in the future.”

In a recent tweet, Sandeep invoked Robert Frost’s famous poem ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening’ and said, “The woods are lovely, dark & deep, but I have promises to keep, & miles to go before I sleep. Thank you, Congress Party, & grateful to most of my colleagues, who always gave me good advice & the respect is mutual.”

Since Sunil Jakhar joined BJP, the Congress party often attacked him on social media. Sandeep was seen locking horns with Congress leaders, including Warring, to defend Sunil. For example, in the first week of June 2023, Warring challenged Jakhar to stand up for protesting wrestlers against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. He wrote, “Stand up for the female wrestlers who brought glory to our county with the same vigour with which you vent out your frustration against us. This will do you more good,” and “hoped” Jakhar was not feeling suffocated in BJP.

Quoting Warring, Sandeep shared a media interview with Sunil Jakhar, where he said the matter could have been handled much better.
