Karnataka: Congress leader Priyank Kharge makes gaumutra jibe, once popularised by Pulwama suicide bomber, to settle political score

On Friday (July 28) night, Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge courted controversy for making the derogatory, Hinduphobic ‘gaumutra’ during a Twitter spat with columnist and author Chakravarti Sulibele.

Sullibele took to Twitter to point out the arrest of a BJP worker named Shakunthala HS for merely questioning Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah over the infamous ‘Udupi washroom case’.

“Prank Kharge and team is highly active in Karnataka. You speak against CM you will end up in jail. Now they have arrested @ShakunthalaHS a BJP worker for posting against ‘Prank’ remark of congress leaders. If this is not #HitlerSarkara then what it is?” he questioned.

An enraged Priyank Kharge, who happens to be the son of Congress President Priyank Khargem went on to make ‘gaumutra’ jibe to settle scores with author Chakravarti Sulibele. In a tweet, he said, “Enough pranks have been played on the youth of Karnataka by you. Forget the prank, let us be frank.”

“Answer the following for your misguided fans: How many more Paresh Meshtas will you claim with your lies? Why so silent on his CBI report? How come you never are in the forefront wearing the Kesari shawl & protesting, allowing only young innocent people to lead?” Kharge continued.

“Why are you limiting yourself as YouTuber & motivator? when will you stand for an election, win & save the youth Karnataka? Instead of using poor backward & dalit youngsters, when will you inspire BJP leaders children to join you to protect religion? How many cows (Gowmatas) have you adopted in BJP Govt’s “Punya Koti Dattu Yojane”?” the Congress leader said.

“How many Gaushalas have you helped build through BJP/RSS funds? Do you drink Gau mutra daily & eat cow dung once in a while as suggested by colleagues?” Priyank Kharge made a casual Hinduphobic jibe.

“BTW, you are 100% right, Prank or Frank Kharge or any other Kharge & every Kannadiga will stand up to protect the integrity & future of our State & Constitution. You spread lies, misinformation & create harm in society Govt will tackle it by the book,” he further warned.

The ‘gaumutra’ jibe was popularised by Pulwama suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar in February 2019. He had recorded a video, dehumanising the Hindu community as ‘Hindustan ka Napak mushrikon‘ (impure idol worshippers of India) and ‘Gae ka Peshab Peene Walon’ (cow piss drinkers).

Since then, the term has been frequently used by the left-liberal ecosystem and Islamists to mock and berate the Hindus.

Son of Malikarjun Kharge tells cops to kick gaurakshaks

Earlier in June this year, Priyank Kharge asked police to crack down on ‘gau-rakshaks’ in the State. The development came days ahead of the Islamic festival of Eid-al-Adha (also known as Bakri-eid).

He claimed that transportation of cattle is being obstructed despite having valid documents, and asked police to take action in such cases. During a meeting with State police officials in Kalaburgi, Priyank Kharge directed, “Those who wear shawls, take the law into their own hands and say they are from these Dals (Bajrang Dal), kick them and put them behind bars.”

“If there’s anyone who’s a self-proclaimed leader and who spews venom in the name of communal issues, then action should be taken against them. I don’t want unnecessary communal riots,” he was quoted as saying.

“The law is very clear on the transportation of livestock. Be it within city limits or rural areas. If they have the right documents, don’t harass them,” Priyank Kharge was quoted as saying.

Although the contentious statement was made a few days earlier, the video of his speech went viral on June 24, 2023. Social media users did not mince any words before lambasting the Congress Minister.

ATS chargesheet reveals DRDO scientist expressed willingness to share classified missile info with Pakistani agent ‘Zara’, sparks security concerns

According to the investigation conducted by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) into the DRDO espionage case, it has come to light that scientist Pradeep Kurulkar expressed his intention to show a “highly classified” report on the BrahMos missile project to a female Pakistani Intelligence Operative (PIO) using the name “Zara Dasgupta” during a personal meeting.

Pradeep Kurulkar, aged 59 and the head of DRDO’s Research and Development Establishment (Engineers) or R&D (E) laboratory, was arrested on May 3 by the ATS. He was detained under relevant sections of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) pertaining to charges of spying and engaging in wrongful communication with the female PIO in a suspected honey trap case.

As per the ATS’s findings, the wanted accused, known as the PIO, initiated contact with Kurulkar on WhatsApp, posing as a UK-based software engineer named Zara. Using explicit messages, voice, and video calls, she lured Kurulkar into engaging in multiple conversations with her from June 10, 2022, to February 24, 2023.

ATS alleges that Zara’s motive was to extract confidential information from Kurulkar regarding various DRDO and defence projects in India. Kurulkar, seemingly attracted to her, is accused of misusing his position to share this sensitive information.

During their investigation, ATS obtained the WhatsApp chats between Kurulkar and Zara, which form a substantial part of the chargesheet comprising six volumes and a staggering 1,837 pages. This chargesheet has been filed before a special court in Pune, detailing the evidence against the accused parties.

According to the details mentioned in the chargesheet, Kurulkar and Zara engaged in discussions about the BrahMos missile project from October 19, 2022, to October 28, 2022. During their exchange, Zara inquired if Kurulkar was involved in inventing the BrahMos, referring to it as the “dangerous one.”

In response, Kurulkar revealed that he possessed an initial design report comprising around 186 A4 size pages covering all versions of the BrahMos missile. However, he expressed reluctance to share the report via WhatsApp or email due to its highly classified nature. Instead, he proposed to trace and keep it ready for presentation when they met in person, suggesting a willingness to show it to her during their personal meeting.

As highlighted in the chargesheet, the ATS specifically referenced a chat dated October 28, 2022, wherein Kurulkar acknowledged the highly confidential nature of the information. Despite being fully aware that such sensitive details should not be shared over WhatsApp and email, Kurulkar informed Zara that he would present the information to her during their in-person meeting.

As per the information presented in the chargesheet, the WhatsApp conversations between Kurulkar and Zara extended beyond the BrahMos missile project. They also discussed various other sensitive topics related to DRDO. These included the Agni 6 missile, Rustom (a medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned air vehicle), Surface to Air Missiles (SAM), Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAV), and Drone projects.

Furthermore, their discussions covered additional subjects such as the Quadcopter, DRDO duty chart, Meteor missile, Rafael, Akash, and Astra missile. Notably, the chargesheet also mentions references to a private Indian defence company executive who is a DRDO vendor and specializes in developing “robotic equipment” for the Indian armed forces.

In addition to the WhatsApp chats, the ATS has submitted “confidential” documents related to the investigation in a sealed envelope to the court. During a recent hearing, Pradeep Kurulkar’s lawyer, Rishikesh Ganu, filed an application requesting copies of these “confidential” documents to prepare the defence.

Furthermore, the chargesheet reveals that Kurulkar added Zara to a “WhatsApp broadcast group” called “Happy Morning.” In the course of their conversations, it is alleged that he shared the names of two DRDO scientists with her. As part of the investigation, the ATS has also taken statements from these two scientists.

The charge sheet contains WhatsApp chats related to the “Quadcopter” topic. Zara watched a video and informed Kurulkar that she tried to spot him in the footage, but it mainly featured navy personnel and foreigners. In response, Kurulkar clarified that he was behind the quadcopter during the video, and it was captured from the flying direction.

During the same conversation, Zara expressed that it was the first time she saw someone sitting in a quadcopter and inquired about its potential dangers. Kurulkar assured her that they conduct extensive testing before deploying it in the field and mentioned that the project was currently in the testing phase.

In another chat, Kurulkar discussed the “Agni 6 missing launcher” and claimed that he designed it, and it had been a significant success. When Zara asked about the testing schedule for Agni 6, Kurulkar replied that it would be tested during the Night Fire and asked her to be patient. Additionally, the chargesheet reveals that Kurulkar shared details about several agreements between India and other countries in separate conversations with Zara.

Pradeep Kurulkar, a 59-year-old scientist employed at a defence research and development organisation laboratory in Pune, was arrested on allegations of spying and providing security-sensitive material to a purported female Pakistani intelligence operative. He is charged with violations of the Official Secrets Act (of 1923) sections 3 (spying) and 5 (wrongful transmission of information).

Honey trapping is a strategy in espionage where an agent cultivates a relationship with a civilian in order to exploit their trust or gain access to confidential information.

Uttar Pradesh: Tension prevails in Sonbhadra’s Robertsganj after calf carcass found near Hanuman temple

After a cow calf’s body was discovered close to a Hanuman temple on the evening of 28 July, tensions reportedly ran high in Sonbhadra’s Robertsganj neighbourhood in Uttar Pradesh. Realising the gravity of the situation, many police personnel reached the location immediately to control the critical situation.

The Additional Superintendent of Police, Kalu Singh also arrived at the scene as soon as he received the information and took charge. A complaint has been filed, according to the senior official, who assured that the guilty would face harsh punishment.

He further added that the procedure for filing a First Information Report is being undertaken by accepting an application in this regard, following which subsequent action would be implemented.

He stated that it’s possible that the act was carried out to poison the atmosphere because Muharram would be observed on 29 July. Police informed that the nine-month-old calf’s body had been retrieved from the empty space behind the temple where it was spotted.

The authorities have begun looking into how the animal carcass ended up near the holy place. They are trying to identify whether the crime was committed at the scene itself or was a dead animal brought and dumped there. People were furious when they noticed the cattle’s remains behind the temple and they quickly called the local police to look into the matter.

The members of Hindu organisations also reached the spot and slogans were raised leading to a heated atmosphere. However, the police present there tried to talk to people in an effort to placate them.

The temple was purified and CCTV footage from the area is also been examined. Police are also conducting night raids to catch the perpetrators, but no one has been arrested till now.

Tamil Nadu police arrest political analyst Badri Seshadri, BJP leader Annamalai accuses DMK govt of vengeance

On Saturday (July 29) morning, publisher and political analyst Badri Seshadri was arrested by Tamil Nadu police. The development was confirmed by BJP Tamil Nadu member Karthik Gopinath on Twitter.

He had also shared a copy of the First Information Report (FIR), which said that Seshadri was booked under Indian Penal Code Sections 153 (provocation), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups) and 505 (public mischief).

In a tweet, Karthik Gopinath stated, “Breaking: Renowned publisher and analyst @bseshadri avl has been arrested today! Attaching the contents of FIR as received.”

In a tweet, BJP Tamil Nadu chief K Annamalai wrote, “@BJP4TamilNadu Strongly condemns the arrest of renowned publisher and stage speaker Mr. @bseshadri by the Tamil Nadu Police early this morning.”

“This corrupt DMK government is relying only on arrests without power to address the views of the common people. Is the Tamil Nadu Police’s job only to enforce the revenge measures of the corrupt DMK government?” he emphasised.

As per a report by CommuneMag, Badri Seshadri was arrested in connection to his comments on the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and Manipur violence.

“Yesterday, the Supreme Court like a big…I don’t know what word to say. ‘If you can’t do it (contain the violence), we will get down and do it.’ We should give a gun in the hand of Chandrachud (Chief Justice of India) and ask him to go there and do what he can to restore peace. Simply, talking anything without relation,” he had reportedly said.

“Can you (judiciary) enter into the realm of governance? What fault did you find in what is being done [by the government] there [to restore normalcy]? Two groups are fighting. It is a hilly terrain. A complex land. In that, a few murders will happen. Why did they fight? Could we have prevented the reason for the two groups fighting? It can’t be done easily,” Seshadri was quoted as saying.

BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary arrested for criticising Communist MP

On June 16 night, BJP (Tamil Nadu) State Secretary SG Suryah was arrested by the cybercrime unit of Madurai police.

His arrest came days after he accused a Communist ward councillor named Viswanathan of being responsible for the death of a hygiene worker. SG Surya said that Vishwanathan compelled the deceased to clean a drain filled with faecal matter, which resulted in allergies and his eventual death.

The BJP leader had also written a strongly-worded letter to CPI(M) MP Su Venkatesan, complaining about the death of the worker and questioning his silence on the matter. It is believed that the tweet triggered the arrest of SG Suryah.

In his tweet on June 7 this year, the BJP State Secretary pointed out, “Madurai Pennadam town panchayat 12th ward councillor Viswanathan had forced the worker to undertake the job after which the worker got infected and died. The hypocritical politics of the MP stinks.”

Unlicensed secret California lab found housing Coronavirus, HIV, Hepatitis, and Herpes; investigation underway

On Thursday, July 27, 2023, a shocking discovery was made in Fresno County, California, as local and federal authorities concluded a months-long investigation into an illegal, unlicensed laboratory located inside a warehouse. This covert facility contained hazardous materials, lab mice, and medical waste, raising serious concerns about potential public health risks.

Assistant Director Joe Prado of the Fresno County Public Health Department issued a statement revealing ongoing evaluations and assessments of the unlicensed laboratory in Reedley. The investigation involved close collaboration with multiple federal and state agencies to identify and categorise the biological and chemical substances present on the site. The complexity of the situation necessitated a careful determination of jurisdictional authority.

During a prior inspection on March 3, city officials discovered various chemicals being stored at the location. The situation escalated on March 16, when county public health officials conducted a follow-up inspection and reportedly found medical devices that appeared to have been developed on-site, including Covid and pregnancy test kits. These findings raised immediate red flags about the nature of activities conducted within the unlicensed laboratory.

Startling details emerged from court documents describing specific rooms within the warehouse containing an array of liquids, apparatus, and bodily fluid samples such as blood, tissue, and serums. Additionally, numerous vials of unlabeled fluids and suspected biological materials were discovered, indicating unauthorised and potentially hazardous experimentation.

The warehouse’s living conditions for animals were nothing short of appalling, according to the reports. Court documents revealed that hundreds of lab mice were subjected to severe conditions. Taking swift action, the city intervened and took possession of the animals in April. Tragically, 773 mice had to be euthanised due to their dire state, while over 175 were found dead.

After the tests conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the substances found in the warehouse, 20 potentially infectious agents were identified, including the coronavirus, HIV, hepatitis, and herpes. This revelation, as detailed in a Health and Human Services letter dated June 6, sent shockwaves through the health community.

The investigation led to the identification of the tenant responsible for the unlicensed laboratory. Prestige BioTech, a company registered in Nevada but unlicensed to conduct business in California, was behind the facility. According to court documents, Xiuquin Yao, the company president, communicated with city officials through emails disclosed in the court proceedings. Yao claimed that Prestige BioTech had relocated assets from a defunct company, Universal Meditech Inc., to the Reedley warehouse following UMI’s closure. The court documents indicated that Prestige Biotech was considered a successor and a creditor to UMI.

Prestige BioTech faced serious allegations of non-compliance with orders, particularly about providing a plan for the safe reduction and disposal of hazardous materials.

Reedley City Manager Nicole Zieba provided updates on the progress made by officials in handling hazardous materials and clearing the area. However, she also noted that active investigations by federal partners were still ongoing, highlighting the severity of the situation.

Fine me if you want, will not remove my Islamic headgear and wear helmet: Bizarre rant of a Pakistani biker goes viral

On Thursday (July 27), a video of a Pakistani man refusing to wear a helmet, in place of his Islamic headgear (Imama Sharif), while driving went viral on social media.

In the video, the man was heard saying, “You ask me to pay a penalty of PKR 1001 but I will not remove my Imama Sharif and wear a helmet in its place. If necessary, I will pay a daily fine but I will not remove my Islamic headgear.”

“I will not wear a helmet. It is extremely clear to me,” he insisted on driving without a helmet. At that point, the reporter interjected him and asked, “Do you wear your Imama Sharif while taking bath?”

The question rattled the Pakistani man, who vehemently insisted, “Did Sahaaba Karam, Anbiya Karaam (Prophet Muhammad and his companions) wear the headgear (while taking a bath)? Of course, they wore it when they went outdoors. What is this line of questioning?”

“You are talking like a retard. Atleast say something that makes sense,” the man reprimanded the reporter.

The video was originally uploaded on the official TikTok channel of a Pakistani organisation named ‘News 24 HD’ on July 22, 2023. This is not the first time that Pakistanis resorted to bizarre acts in the name of Islam.

Blasphemous QR Code in Pakistan

Earlier in July last year, dozens of Islamists belonging to the extremist Barelvi organisation Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) unleashed mayhem in the mobile market of Karachi, Pakistan, after rumours of an alleged blasphemy against the company.

The protestors tore down the billboards of Samsung in the mobile market in the city and indulged in vandalism after they heard that the company has committed ‘blasphemy’ against Islam.

The protests were not limited to the mobile market as billboards in several locations across the city faced the ire of angry TLP members. Initial rumours circulating about the incident said that Samsung had introduced a QR code on its devices which is blasphemous.

Following this, the Islamists took to the streets of Karachi and started attacking the company’s billboards. In December 2021,  a Pakistani man threatened American behemoth Pepsi for printing a QR code with the name of Prophet Muhammad on its 7UP bottles.

The man threatened a Pepsi company truck driver with dire consequences if the QR Code on a 7 UP soft drink bottle was not removed by the company. On enquiring, the man, who identified himself as Mulla, insisted that the QR code is actually the name of Prophet Muhammad and that if the company did not remove the logo he would burn the truck.
