0

The Delhi Police Special Cell on Saturday recovered a dead body, chopped into three pieces, from the Bhalswa drain in North Delhi. The body of the unidentified person was recovered after two persons were arrested for suspected links with terror groups.

The two arrested persons have been identified as Jagjit Singh alias Jagga and Naushad. During questioning, they confessed to their terror activities, and when the police searched their residences and nearby areas, the chopped body was found. Both the accused were arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) on Thursday.

“Delhi Police Special Cell recovered a dead body which was chopped into three pieces from Bhalswa drain after two suspects Naushad and Jagjit Singh told the police. The deceased is being identified,” the Delhi Police said in a statement.

During the raids at their rented house at Shradha Nand Colony in the Bhalswa Dairy on Friday, the police recovered hand grenades, three pistols and 22 live cartridges. The two person allegedly killed a man in the house, and they had also shared a video of killing the man with their handler. A forensic team collected blood samples from the house.

When police searched the area near the rented house, the found the body in the drain.

“During the investigation, in pursuance of disclosure, both the accused led the police team to their rented accommodation at Shradhanand Colony in Bhalaswa Dairy area from where two hand grenades were recovered, traces of human blood have also been found,” Delhi police spokesperson Suman Nalwa said.

When the police questioned the neighbours about the two men, they said that they had bought a new refrigerator but returned it a week later. Police suspect that the accused had chopped the man after killing him and kept the remains in the refrigerator, and later they dumped the body in the drain.

According to Delhi police, Naushad (56) is associated with Pakistan-based terror outfit Harkat-ul-Ansar. On the other hand, Jagjit Singh has links with member of the Devinder Bambiha gang and is also an associate of Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep Dall. Jagjit Singh alias Jagga (29)has been allegedly receiving instructions from anti-national elements based abroad, as per police.

Naushad has been a life convict in two cases of murder. He has also undergone 10 years sentence in a case of Explosive Act. Jagga had jumped parole in a murder case in Uttarakhand.

Jagjit Singh alias Jagga and Naushad were arrested on January 12 by the Delhi police’s special cell over their suspected links with terror organisations. They were produced before a court on Friday, which remanded them to 14-day police custody.

“DMK has always indulged in ‘abusive’ politics. They have always abused leaders holding higher constitutional posts, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have written to Tamil Nadu DGP seeking immediate action. The hands of the police are tied. Local DMK leaders treat police stations as their own offices,” Annamalai told ANI. He said people will give a befitting reply to DMK in the elections.

“Chief Minister Stalin must come out and clarify because no one has come out with an apology and no FIR has been registered yet. I am sure people will teach them a befitting lesson during the next polls,” added the Tamil Nadu BJP Chief.

DMK leader Shivaji Krishnamoorthy on Friday sparked a controversy with his remark against Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi.

Addressing an event on Thursday, Krishnamoorthy said, “If the Governor refuses to utter the name of Ambedkar in his Assembly speech, do I not have the right to assault him?”

“If you (Governor) do not read out the speech given by the Tamil Nadu government, then go to Kashmir, and we will send terrorists so that they’ll gun you down,” Krishnamoorthy said.

The outburst came after CM Stalin accused the Governor of “delivering a speech that was extempore and deviated from the approved text”.

Congress and communist parties and other ally members protested outside Raj Bhavan against TN Governor RN Ravi on Friday over the speech row.

Tamil Nadu MLA Thiru N Eramakrishnan on Wednesday moved a ‘Motion of Thanks’ on Governor RN Ravi’s address, with a mention of the word ‘regret’ over his action.

Earlier on January 9, the Governor sparked a controversy with his statement that the name ‘Thamizhagam’ would be more appropriate for the state. Governor Ravi’s remark during his customary address at the opening session of the House on Monday, triggered an uproar, especially from the Treasury benches.

Legislators of the ruling DMK and its allies, the Congress and the VCK, started raising slogans against the Governor and staged a walkout.

Members of the Indian cricket team visited the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday after they arrived in the city ahead of the third ODI against Sri Lanka.

Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav and team India’s throwdown specialist Raghu visited the temple and offered prayers. The players wore traditional attire – white dhoti and angavastram – while posing with the temple authorities.

KL Rahul had earlier visited the temple in September 2022 to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu.

The Indian team has clinched the ODI series with wins in Guwahati and Kolkata ODIs. They will be looking to clean sweep the ODI series when they face Sri Lanka on January 15 at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.

India earlier won the three-match T20I series 2-1 against the Sri Lankan team.

India’s next assignment will be the limited-overs home series against New Zealand. The New Zealand home series will feature three T20Is and three ODIs. India will begin the series with the 50-over matches starting on January 18. The T20 series will commence on January 27 and will end on February 1.

Prithvi Shaw earned a call-up for the T20I series against New Zealand as BCCI announced the squads for the limited-overs home series against New Zealand on Friday.

KL Rahul and Axar Patel will not feature in the New Zealand Home series due to family commitments. KS Bharat, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Shardul Thakur have been roped in for the limited-overs assignment against the Kiwis.

Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the three-match T20I series with star batsmen Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer missing the T20I leg of the series.

Prithvi Shaw has been named in the T20I squad on the back of stunning performances in the Ranji trophy where he smashed 379 runs against Assam, the second-highest individual score in the history of the tournament.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has also made it to the T20I squad. Match-winning performance from left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav in the ODI series against Sri Lanka has helped him earn a place in the T20I squad.

Jitesh Sharma and Rahul Tripathi have managed to hold onto their places in the T20I squad.

India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is a notable absentee from the squads of both the limited-over series. He continues his rehabilitation after suffering a back injury.

Pakistani consulate in China tweets on Rights and Freedom of Uyghurs, Islamabad says account hacked

0

Hours after tweeting that Islamabad and Beijing will “work closely on matters of mutual interests including Rights & Freedom of Uyghurs community”, Pakistan backtracked saying that their Twitter handle of Pakistan Consulate General Chengdu had been hacked.

The tweet referred to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs being thankful to China for support to flood victims and then mentioned concerns regarding the Uyghur community.

“MoFA Pakistan is thankful for Chinese aid and support for flood reconstruction. We will work closely on matters of mutual interest including the Rights and Freedom of the Uyghurs community,” read the tweet from the official handle of Pakistan Consulate General Chengdu on Friday.

The tweet was seen as the first instance of Pakistan coming out in support of Uyghur community, a predominantly Turkic-speaking ethnic group primarily in China’s northwestern region of Xinjiang which has faced “serious human rights violations” from Beijing.

UN human rights report had said last year that China is responsible for “serious human rights violations” in Xinjiang province.

In a strongly-worded assessment, OHCHR (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights) had said that the extent of arbitrary detentions against Uyghur and others, in the context of “restrictions and deprivation more generally of fundamental rights, enjoyed individually and collectively, may constitute international crimes, in particular crimes against humanity.”

However, hours after the tweet, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson said that the Twitter account of the Pakistan Consulate General Chengdu, China “has been hacked”.

“As of today, any tweet or message issued from this account is not made by the Pakistan Consulate General Chengdu nor does it reflect the position of the Government of Pakistan,” the spokesperson said in a tweet.

Beijing has been accused for years of detaining more than one million Uyghurs and other Muslims in Xinjiang region. China has vehemently rejected these charges, insisting it is running vocational centres designed to curb extremism.

The UN released a report in September last year on alleged violations of the human rights of ethnic Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in China.

The report found that mass detentions in China’s Xinjiang region from 2017 to 2019 were marked by credible documentation of “torture, sexual violence, and forced labour, as well as forced abortions and sterilization”.

The UN report further stated that the allegations of sexual and gender-based violence, including rape, “appear credible and would in themselves amount to acts of torture or other forms of ill-treatment.”

UN human rights experts have raised serious concerns about the alleged detention and forced labour of Muslim Uyghurs in China, calling for unhindered access to the country to conduct fact-finding missions and urging global and domestic companies to closely scrutinize their supply chains.

Uttar Pradesh: Hindu organisations protest after the severed remains of a calf found in Awagarh

0

In the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh, remains of a dead calf were found at a vacant plot. Following this, Hindu organisations staged a protest outside the Awagarh Police Station in Sai Colony. After learning about the matter, Circle Officer (CO) Jalesar, Raghavendra Singh Rathore, reached the spot and promised to take action. Additionally, a case has been registered at the Awagarh police station.

On January 12, a calf’s severed head and skin were found near a vacant plot in Sai Colony. Shubham Hindu and other Hindu Ekta Samuh members protested when they learned of this and demanded strict action against the perpetrators. Members of the Hindu organisation also demanded that the police take appropriate action against those operating meat shops and hotels near Hindu temples.

Taking to Twitter, the founder of Hindu Ekta Samuh, Shubham, wrote, “Hindu Ekta Group gheraoed Awagarh police station for not filing a case of cow slaughter in Sai Colony and demanded the closure of non-vegetarian hotels and meat shops near temples. Also asked CO Jalesar and station in-charge Awagarh to register a case against cow slaughter.

On Friday, Etah Police in reply to a tweet posted by Shubham Hindu stated, “In this case, the local police conducted an immediate on-the-spot medical examination of the remains and discovered that the cattle’s remains had been eaten by wild animals. However, necessary legal action is being taken.”

George Soros-funded group played key role in suppressing the Hunter Biden story before 2020 US elections: Reveal Twitter Files documents

By now it has been well established how the left-liberal ecosystem had come together to bury the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the US presidential elections in 2020. Major left-wing media houses had decided not to publish the explosive stories revealed after Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden had left his laptop at a repair shop. And when New York Post published the reports, Twitter and Facebook had censored the story. Now it has been revealed that left-wing billionaire George Soros was also behind the conspiracy to bury the story to help Biden win the election.

The revelation was made in Twitter Files, the initiative by new Twitter owner Elon Musk to expose how the social media platform under previous management had suppressed right-wing voices. In Twitter Files 7 released by author Michael Shellenberger on December 7, it was revealed how the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) paid a whopping $3.4 million to Twitter between October 2019 and February 2021 and coerced top Twitter executives into gutting the ‘Hunter Biden story‘ of the New York Post.

According to the expose, the FBI was actively involved in Twitter affairs so much so that they created their own “private Slack channel and a crib sheet to onboard new FBI arrivals.” During that time, Twitter Safety Head Yoel Roth participated in a September 2020 “tabletop exercise” by Aspen Institute, a left-wing group run by elite liberals, on a potential “Hack-and-Dump” operation pertaining to the New York Post story on Hunter Biden.

The event was organised by Vivian Schiller, former president and CEO of National Public Radio, former head of news and journalism partnerships at Twitter, and also former vice president and chief digital officer for NBC News. Representatives of several media houses like the New York Times, the Washington Post, apart from Twitter Safety Head Yoel Roth and Facebook policy manager for influence operations (IO) Olga Belogolova had attended the meeting.

One of the persons who had attended the meeting was Claire Wardle, former executive director and co-founder of First Draft News. A screenshot of an email sent to the invitees of the event includes the email address [email protected], making it clear that Claire Wardle also attended the meeting.

First Draft News was funded by Open Society Foundations run by George Soros. Founded in 2015, First Draft News was shut down in June 2022.

The Aspen Institute exercise titled “The Burisma Leak” involved a series of hypothetical leaks showing that Hunter Biden had made more money in his role at Ukrainian company Burisma than previously disclosed and had communicated with his father about his work there, as revealed in the Twitter files. The exercise was meant to shape how the media covered the eventual leak of the Hunter Biden laptop story and the way social media platforms carried it.

The exercise was organised after an anonymous website and a Twitter handle had started to publish documents related to Hunter Biden and Burisma, and the matter had started to gain traction on social media. The objective of the exercise was to formulate strategies on how to cover it after the expose is picked up by media, and how to suppress it.

The exercise was a success, because when the story was eventually published by New York Post, left wing media houses chose to ignore it, and then Twitter and Facebook censored the story, preventing its spread. Twitter had even suspended the NYT account.

The New York Post based on documents obtained from the abandoned laptop revealed that Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive from the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma. Less than a year later, Joe Biden reportedly pressured the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor who was investigating the firm.

The Aspen Institute is a left-leaning think tank funded by leftist philanthropic organizations like the Rockefeller Foundation and Ford Foundation. Aspen is known for its far-left bias, even though it claims that it fights disinformation. The Commission on Information Disorder run by Aspen Institute regularly approaches social media platforms to censor accounts.

Hindu terrorism does not exist: RTI activist says citing MHA’s response to his RTI

RTI activist Prafull Sarda, who had filed a Right To Information (RTI) application seeking information about terrorist organisations active in India, has shared that there is nothing like ‘Hindu terrorism’ as per the RTI response he received from Home Ministry. He further added that the term is coined by politicians for appeasement politics.

In his RTI application, Praffull Sarda sought names and details about the terrorist organisations that are operating in India, along with information about what all measures have been taken to control such organisations.

Furthermore, Sarda sought information about ‘Hindu or saffron terrorism’ (if any). Sarda also inquired about the Home Ministry’s records about the involvement of ‘saffron or Hindu terrorists’ in the 2006 Malegaon blast case. Besides, the RTI activist also sought information on the term ‘Islamic terrorism’ and their involvement (if any) in such bomb blasts in India.

The RTI activist said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has dismissed any link or a term like Hindu or saffron terrorism.

“I am deeply hurt not only as an Indian but also as a Hindu. Just to garner the votes of a particular community, political leaders continuously defame Hindus by highlighting fake terms like Hindu or saffron terrorism. However, RTI’s reply clearly states that while a term like Hindu terrorism is non-existent, Islamic terrorism exists and troubles by killing millions of people globally,” Sarda said.

In its response to the RTI, the Home Ministry stated, “It is informed that under section 35 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, (UAPA), 42 organisations have been declared as ‘terrorist organisations’. The government has taken various measures to counter the menace of terrorism, which include augmenting the strength Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), capacity building of special forces, tighter immigration control, and modernisation of police. Effective border management through patrolling and round-the-clock surveillance on the borders, setting up of observation posts, border fencing, floodlighting and deployment of modern and hi-tech surveillance equipment as well as upgradation of intelligence setup and coastal security, etc.”

Furthermore, the Home Ministry stated that the government has bolstered the legislative framework by amending UAPA, 1967, and NIA Act, 2008 in the year 2019.

Tamil Nadu: Complaint lodged against DMK leader for threatening the Governor with assassination

Tamil Nadu Governor’s office lodged a complaint with Chennai Police seeking action against ruling DMK leader Shivaji Krishnamoorthy for his controversial remarks against Governor RN Ravi.

The complaint was lodged by the Deputy Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Governor. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wrote to the state Director General of Police (DGP) over the matter and sought immediate action.

Addressing an event on Thursday, Krishnamoorthy said, “If the Governor refuses to utter the name of Ambedkar in his Assembly speech, do I not have the right to assault him?” “If you (Governor) do not read out the speech given by the Tamil Nadu government, then go to Kashmir, and we will send terrorists so that they’ll gun you down,” Krishnamoorthy said.

On Wednesday, January 9, the Governor sparked a controversy with his statement that the name ‘Thamizhagam’ would be more appropriate for the state.

Governor Ravi’s remark during his customary address at the opening session of the House on Monday, triggered an uproar, especially from the Treasury benches.

Legislators of the ruling DMK and its allies, the Congress and the VCK, started raising slogans against the Governor and staged a walkout.

Scam-accused Washington Post columnist says Nupur Sharma’s ‘privilege’ got her a gun license after her co-religionists threatened her with rape and beheading

Former Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma has received an arms license to carry firearms for self-defense. Nupur Sharma received rape and death threats from Islamists after her remarks during a TV debate on 26th May 2022. After months of death threats, Nupur Sharma was finally given a gun license to defend herself, but scam-accused Washington Post columnist Rana Ayyub has concluded that it is Sharma’s privilege that got her one.

Rama Ayyub, who is accused of embezzling funds acquired in the name of charity, took to Twitter to share the news of Nupur Sharma receiving the gun license with her comment “Privilege”.

Notably, it wasn’t just Nupur Sharma who faced death threats over the past 7 months. Anyone who dared to support Nupur Sharma online was brutally killed like Kanhaiya Lal and Umesh Kolhe, or was the target of threats from Islamists.

Despite such a grave and clear danger to Nupur Sharma’s life, Rana Ayyub is disappointed that Sharma can now defend herself, and netizens were quick to point it out.

Some users also pointed out the actual privilege that is enjoyed by the likes of Rana Ayyub as she travels abroad freely despite the findings of the Enforcement Directorate against her.

Facing death threats for months, being locked in her own house for months, may seem like a privilege to Rana Ayyub, but for any sensible person, these are genuine grounds to grant a gun license to Nupur Sharma.

North Indians sell panipuri in Tamil Nadu, Governor of the state is also like them: DMK leader RS Bharathi

0

DMK Organizational Secretary RS Bharathi has sparked a fresh controversy by saying that North Indians sell panipuri in Tamil Nadu and the Governor is also like them.

He also compared the Governor to a migrant worker from Bihar and said that he would not have left without being beaten had Jayalalitha been alive.

“I had earlier stated that those who sell Soan papdi and Panipuri don’t know the pride of Tamil Nadu. I said this in a meeting. I came to know that many have come from Bihar and I think the Governor (RN Ravi) has similarly come by train,” DMK leader Bharathi said in a public meeting here on Monday evening.

The outburst came after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin had accused the Governor of “delivering a speech that was extempore and deviated from the approved text.” Bharathi questioned why the Governor deviated from the speech.

“There is an old saying in villages, ‘don’t count the leaves (banana leaves used as plates for feast), if you are asked to pick it’…Governor’s job is similar to picking up leaves,” the DMK leader said.

Bharathi said, “The address is like the food on the leaves… You (Governor) are a cook. You should have cooked and left it at that… if you plan to keep something, the person who is eating will he be quiet ?.. I’m not boasting. If it was Jayalalithaa’s rule, he (Governor) would have been attacked and that party men also would not be quiet.”

On Monday, the Tamil Nadu assembly also saw unprecedented scenes, when Governor Ravi walked out in a rush following the adoption of a resolution moved by Chief Minister Stalin which sought to expunge, from house records, whatever the Governor spoke outside the customary government-prepared address.
