5 inmates coerced to give services to Satyendar Jain, were threatened with torture: How Inquiry Committee exposes Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia

A week after Satyendar Jain was seen receiving a massage from a rape-accused inmate in Tihar Jail, an Inquiry report has revealed that AAP Minister had misused his power and violated the prison rules.

As per reports, an Inquiry Committee was led by the Principal Secretaries of the Home and Law Ministries and the Secretary of the Directorate of Vigilance to probe the violation of the rules of Tihar jail. It found that the AAP Minister ‘misused his official position and authority in cahoots with the prison authorities.

According to the Committee, five inmates namely Dilip Kumar, Sonu Singh, Manish, Rinku and Afsar Ali were coerced by the Jail munshi, the warden and the superintendent to provide ‘special services’ to Satyendar Jain.

Both Rinku and Manish are being tried under the Prevention of Child Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act while Afsar and Singh are being jailed for not paying maintenance to their respective wives.

“…Underlines that a retinue of Jail officials including Wardens, Munshis and other staff were involved in the service of Satyendar Jain,” the Inquiry report said.

The Committee slammed former DG (Prison) Sandeep Goel for colluding with the AAP Minister and directed disciplinary proceedings against Goel. It further pointed out that the VIP treatment meted out to Satyendar Jain by the inmates was out of fear and not ‘love and affection.’

“Sandeep Goel met Satyendar Jain in his cell for about 50 minutes on October 6, 2022, from 18.39 hrs to 19.29 hrs. This reflects that Sandeep Goel was quite close to Satyendar Jain and indicates the collusion of top brass, i.e. the then DG (Prisons) Sandeep Goel,” it further emphasised.

Inmates gave special services to Satyendar Jain out of fear: Report

The report stated, “The inmates did not offer any service to Jain voluntarily or out of “love and affection” as cited by the suspended Jail Superintendent Ajit Kumar. Instead, the inmates feared that if they refused to obey, they would be given “Punishment Ticket” or tortured in the jail.”

It also rubbished claims of ‘voluntary’ physiotherapy treatment by POSCO accused Rinku, as asserted by AAP Minister Manish Sisodia.

“This massage was not voluntary or out of love and affection, as claimed by the then Superintendent Jail but was in the nature of leisure for enjoying a lavish lifestyle in jail by Satyendra Jain. This can also be termed to be an abuse of authority and in violation of norms of the jail,” the report said.

“I have provided the massage to him (Jain) at the instructions of jail officials. Now I am being threatened. I have not even taken a drop of water from the cell of Satyendra Jain for giving the massage,” Rinku told the committee.

He also revealed that he had no formal training in physiotherapy or masseur work and provide mares to families during marriage ceremonies.

Satyendar Jain held meetings during curfew hours, misused jail account cards of inmates

The Inquiry Committee also found that Satyendar Jain held meetings with co-accused Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain, besides others who are tried in cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate. Reportedly, the meetings were held even during curfew hours in violation of prison rules.

Besides, the AAP Minister also met his wife Poonam Jain and other family members in Jail at restricted places, which are not meant for such visits.

The report also revealed that the AAP Minister made fraudulent use of jail account cards of prison inmates, which were recharged by the jail warden, to purchase food, fruits and other items for his personal use.

“3-4 Jail account cards were used by Satyendra Jain and his close aide Sanjay Gupta to purchase consumables from the jail canteen. This was done to circumvent the monthly monetary limit of Rs 7,000 per card per month,” it emphasised.

Inmates record their confessions before the Inquiry Committee: Report

Afsar Ali, Sonu Singh and Dilip Kumar were made to provide cleaning services to Jain while Manish was given the charge of arranging fruits and outside food for the AAP Minister.

Manish revealed, “By using my card, I used to purchase fruits from jail canteen for Satyendra Jain. He deposited money in my jail account card 3-4 times and each time he deposited Rs 6,900… I did not provide services to Jain willingly.”

According to Afsar Ali, he was under the false impression that Satyendar Jain and Sanjay Gupta would help him financially to come out of the jail. However, he later discovered that his jail card was being used by Gupta and funded for his personal use.

Tihar inmate Sonu Singh said that he was under pressure to comply with the diktat of the jail Munshi as the latter would produce him before the supervising jail staff for non-compliance.

Another prison inmate, Dilip Kumar, revealed that he was forced to provide cleaning services to the AAP Minister at the behest of the Jail Munshi. He clarified that such services were not accorded to other prisoners in Tihar.

The Background of the Controversy

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain is under the spotlight over the special treatment meted out to him in Tihar Jail.

Much to the embarrassment of the party, several CCTV videos have surfaced on social media showing Jain’s luxurious experience in his prison cell despite the party’s denials of special treatment

On November 19, a video went viral on social media showing VIP treatment being meted out to Jain. Jain was seen receiving foot and head massages. In a bizarre defence of Jain getting a foot massage, Manish Sisodia claimed that Jain was taking physiotherapy for a ‘spine injury.’

Later on, it was revealed that the masseur of jailed Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain whose videos of getting massages went viral has been identified as one rape accused named Rinku, and not a physiotherapist.

After the video of Jain receiving massages went viral, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia justified the VVIP treatment he was receiving, stating it was “treatment for injury.”

The deputy chief minister of Delhi claimed that a doctor had instructed physiotherapy for the minister due to a spinal injury. “Only the BJP can make cruel jokes by leaking CCTV footage of a patient’s treatment… “Satyendar Jain’s spine was damaged, and that’s on record,” Sisodia told the media.

Satyendar Jain was also seen interacting with the now-suspended Tihar jail superintendent Ajit Kumar while he lay comfortably on his bed. In another CCTV footage, a man dressed in black was spotted sweeping the floor with a wet rag while another man was seen arranging the pillows on the bed.

‘You coward piece of sh*t’: Ex-girlfriend Somi Ali accuses Salman Khan of sodomy and physical abuse, deletes post later

Somy Ali, the former girlfriend of Salman Khan once again turned to Instagram to level some serious allegations against the Bollywood actor. In a now-deleted post, Ali labelled Salman Khan a “male chauvinist p*g” and shamed all of his co-stars who support him by labelling him a “woman abuser.” She posted an old photo of herself with Salman and wrote about how he “physically abused” her.

Somy wrote on Instagram, “More to come! Ban my show in India then threaten me with a lawsuit, you coward piece of sh*t. Screw your lawyer! I have 50 lawyers here to protect me from the cigarette burns, the physical abuse and the sodomy which you put me through and it lasted for years. So go f***kkkk yourself.”

She added, “You male chauvinistic p*g. And shame on all the female actors who support this guy who has beaten several women. Shame on the male actors who support him. Bring it on you weakling and make sure you wear your insoles given your 5’6. It’s time to go to war. #truth #letsdoit #betterwatchoutsk #predator #womanbeater #its wartime #sadist.” Somy Ali later deleted the post.

Somy Ali asks people to stop worshipping the Bollywood actor

It may be recalled that in the month of August too, Somy Ali had posted a cryptic post on her Instagram account taking a jibe at her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan. Calling him a ‘woman beater’ in the caption, she urged people to stop ‘worshipping’ the actor.

Sharing a poster of Salman Khan’s 1989 debut film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ and without naming the actor, Somy Ali wrote, “A women beater, and not just me, but many. Stop worshipping him please. He’s a sadistic sick *#uk. You have no idea.”

This was, however, not the first time Somy Ali has taken a dig at Khan. In March 2022, she had posted a photo on her Instagram handle which is a still image from Salman Khan’s debut film Maine Pyar Kiya. In the caption of the photo, she wrote, “The Harvey Weinstein of Bollywood! You will be exposed. The women you abused will come out one day and share their truth. Just like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.”

However, hours after uploading the post, Somy Ali deleted it.

Allegations against Salman Khan are not new

As such, Salman Khan is not new to controversies. Allegations of abusing his co-workers, especially women, have often been levelled against him. In a press conference held on 1st April 2003, actor Vivek Oberoi alleged that Salman Khan had called him 41 times in a night and threatened him. Vivek Oberoi had also alleged that Salman Khan first asked him about his love affairs if any and that later in the same call Salman Khan told Vivek Oberoi that he had physical relationships with Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherjee, and Somy Ali. There have been media reports of the actor showing aggressive behaviour towards his former girlfriends, including Aishwarya and Katrina.

‘First, ask them to convert, then make them pay Jizya tax, if they refuse, fight them’: Qatari professor Dr Shafi Al-Hajri

0

Dr Shafi Al-Hajri, an Islamic Studies professor at Qatar University, stated on Al-Rayyan TV (Qatar) on November 25, 2022, that war is the third and last step in propagating Islam.

Dr Al-Hajri stated that individuals must first be invited to Islam or made to pay the jizya poll tax in order to be protected, but those who resist must be fought mercilessly.

Al-Hajri said, “Fighting is the third stage of spreading da’wa. First, we call people to Allah, and if they accept, then they will have the same duties and rights as we have. If they refuse [to convert to Islam] then they have to pay the jizya poll tax.”

“[They have to pay] the jizya poll tax in order to receive protection from others. The third stage is fighting them, if they refuse,” he further added.

“Fighting is against those who reject da’wa – those who refuse [to convert to] Islam, or to pay the jizya poll tax,” Al-Hajri further added.

It is pertinent to note that Jizya is a tax paid by non-Muslims as a protection tax to the Islamic dispensation ruling the territory. Hindus were humiliated by Muslim Jizya collectors in India during Islamic rule. The Hindu had to bow before the Muslim official, drop his eyes, and even allow the Muslim official to spit on him while paying Jizya.

Failure to pay the Jizya may render the vow of protection of a non-believer’s property null and invalid, leaving the Dhimmi (protected non-believer) with the options of conversion, enslavement, death, or incarceration. In today’s Muslim-majority nations, the humiliation of Dhimmi has given way to discrimination and persecution of Kafir (non-believers) in a thousand different ways. Kafirs do not have the same rights as Muslims in most Muslim-majority country.

Islamic preaching in Qatar during FIFA World Cup 2022

Notably, Qatar has been under fire for using a number of methods to convert visitors to Islam who have travelled to the Islamic nation to watch the World Cup. According to a recent report, the Katara Cultural Village Mosque in Doha, Qatar’s capital, has become a hotspot for the proselytization of non-Muslim visitors.

As per media reports, at the mosque, multilingual male and female preachers explain Islam’s religion and ‘tolerance’ to tourists. Visitors are being encouraged to watch electronic boards on Islam which are on display in more than 30 languages and positioned in such a way that it allows visitors to view them on their phones. In addition, books ‘introducing’ Islam in different languages are being distributed amongst the visitors.

Furthermore, Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has erected a pavilion outside the 2022 World cup venue, where visitors are being ‘introduced’ to Islam and its teachings.

Radical preacher Zakir Naik in Qatar

How religion has grabbed the spotlight amid the football tournament can also be evidenced by the fact that the radical Islamic preacher Zakir Naik has been reportedly ‘invited’ to preach Islam to football fans.

Recently, it was reported that Zakir Naik, the Islamic Preacher from India wanted for financial fraud and other crimes, reached Qatar to preach Islam. A video from 2016 went viral where he was seen converting people to Islam in Qatar. Though the video was old, there are speculations that his preaching on the sidelines of the FIFA World Cup 2022 may be directed at conversions of visiting football fans.

After concerns were raised by India, Qatar clarified that Naik was not extended any official invitation to attend the FIFA inaugural ceremony.

‘Luckily, a viewer came to help me’: Korean vlogger Hyojeong Park narrates how she was harassed by Mobeen Chand and Mohammad Naqeeb Ansari

0

South Korean Twitch streamer Hyojeong Park, who goes by the handle ‘Mhyochi’ on the streaming platform and social media, was harassed in Khar, Mumbai on November 29, by two youths who have been identified as Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari. Mhyochi is currently on a trip to India and regularly streaming her journey online. Both the accused have been arrested after the video of the incident sparked outrage on social media.

Hyojeong Park while speaking to Republic said, “As I was walking back to my hotel, I started live-streaming to show people about my trip. It was around 11:50 p.m., and I was almost there when two guys stood in the street and one of them yelled, ‘I love you.’ And sometimes when you’re creating content, people want to participate in the conversation or show interest.”

“I love you back,” Park said to the accused youths. Following this, one of the accused approached her, put his arm around her shoulder, and attempted to kiss her on the cheek. “Luckily, one of the viewers watching my live stream was already aware of what had occurred. He came over to help me and spoke to those people in Hindi. “I didn’t understand what he said to them, but after he said something, they started to distance themselves,” she explained.

Hyojeong stated that the incident upset her so much that she was crying in her bed, but after one of her Indian friends helped her gather courage, she decided to report the incident to Mumbai Police. “I was crying in my bed after the incident.” “One of my Indian friends advised me to upload the video footage of the incident and inform the Mumbai Police,” she detailed.

When asked about the response in South Korea to the horrific incident, Park stated that she has not yet informed her family, including her mother, because “she has her own problems.”

When asked if she was satisfied with the Police action, she stated, “It’s a tricky question. I must say that I am happy with it. I’d like to think the police would have done the same thing if I hadn’t been a foreigner or if I hadn’t had a video.”

After the incident, Hyojeong Park aka Mhyochi was blamed by a few people for being over-friendly. Mhyochi said, “One thing I was afraid of was that I could beat him if he was alone, but if he was with a friend group waiting there, that’s pretty scary.”  “Please don’t tell me if I have done something wrong. Did I? Maybe I should stop smiling at strangers. That’s right? Not being nice to other people. Is that what you are saying? Don’t tell me that I have done something wrong. Every time this thing happens, even in Egypt, there are always people saying that I have done something wrong.” She then asked the person blaming her for what had happened to leave the stream and unfollow her.

‘My perception about India won’t change with this incident’

Even this experience, according to Park, will not change her perception of India because “it is the people who have done wrong.” “It will not change in any way. This could have occurred anywhere, in any country.” She asked people not to judge the country based on a five-minute video. “I get free paani-puri on the street 99% of the time when I meet amazing people who invite me to weddings. It’s not about India; it’s about people who have wronged.”

Moreover, Hyojeong encouraged people who face similar situations but somehow do not speak up against it. “I want this to be an example for people, not just for women, to speak up if you are harassed,” she said.

Such incident will not be tolerated as JNU belongs to all: Varsity’s Registrar issues statement on anti-Brahmin graffiti row

After the walls of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus was defaced with anti-Brahmin graffiti, the Office of the Registrar issued a strong statement condemning the vandalism.

In a statement [pdf] on Thursday (December 1), it informed that the Vice-Chancellor of the varsity had taken cognisance on the matter and that such display of intolerance would not be entertained.

“The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Santishree D. Pandit has taken a serious note of the incident of defacement of walls and faculty rooms by some unknown elements in SIS, JNU. The administration condemns these exclusivist tendencies on campus,” the note emphasised.

Screengrab of the note released by the Office of the Registrar

“Such incidents will not be tolerated as JNU belongs to all,” the Office of the Registrar further added. It further said that the Dean of the School of International Studies and Grievances Committee had been directed to submit a report about the incident to the Vice-Chancellor of JNU.

The Office of the Registrar of the varsity concluded, “JNU stands for inclusion and equality. The VC reiterates zero tolerance for any kind of violence on campus.” The note bore the signature of the acting Registrar

The Background of the Incident

On Thursday (December 1), slogans against Brahmin and Baniya communities were found written on the walls of the School of International Studies-II building of JNU.

The slogans read “Brahmin-Baniya, we are coming for you”, “We will avenge”, “Brahmins Leave the campus”, “Brahmins leave India”, “Now there will be blood”, and “Go back to Sakha” among others.

‘Go to the Shakha’ was written on the doors of the chambers of several professors, accusing them of being RSS members. The professors targeted by the miscreants included Nalin Kumar Mohapatra, Raj Yadav, Pravesh Kumar, and Vandana Mishra.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization affiliated with the RSS, has called it a “barbarism” by the Left. ABVP President (JNU) Rohit Kumar said that a woman professor, whose gate had ‘Go Back to Shakha’ written on it, was held hostage for three days in 2019.

Shah Rukh Khan performs Umrah in Mecca, Muslims call him a ‘sinner’ for keeping idols in his house, being married to a Hindu

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan announced wrapping up the Saudi Arabia schedule of Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial Dunki on Wednesday. After the wrapping up of his shooting schedule, images of Shah Rukh Khan doing Umrah at Mecca emerged.

The images of Shah Rukh Khan praying at Mecca were posted by Instagram handle “Team Shahrukh Khan”.

Saudi Arabia-based journalist Said Hafiz also took to Twitter to share images of the Bollywood actor praying at Mecca. “Bollywood Actor Shah Rukh Khan @iamsrk performed Umrah in #Mecca today. May Allah swt accept his umrah, Ameen”, he tweeted.

Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, that can be undertaken at any time of the year as compared to Hajj. In accordance to the Shariah (Law of Islam), for both pilgrimages, a Muslim must first assume a state of purification achieved by completing cleansing rituals, wearing the prescribed attire, and abstaining from certain actions. Umrah is considered a pilgrimage “lesser than” Hajj and is completed in a few hours, compared to Hajj, which may take a few days.

As the images of Shah Rukh Khan performing Umrah in Mecca were posted on social media, several Muslims started abusing and questioning the Bollywood actor. Several Muslims responded to the Saudi Arabia journalist who posted images of Shah Rukh Khan, saying that he keeps idols in his home (Hindu deities) and that is considered the greatest sin in Islam.

There is no greater sin than polytheism, one Twitter user said.

Twitter account called Riz said that Shah Rukh Khan’s earning from Bollywood was haraam. And since he indulges in “Haraam”, his Umrah would not be accepted.

Another said that he was married to a Hindu and keeps idols in his home. “Just because he has a Muslim name doesnt mean Muslims need to own him”, the Twitter user said.

Maruf Ahmed said, “Half Muslim half Hindu”, essentially saying that Shahrukh was not Muslim enough to perform Umrah or for his prayers to be accepted.

There were hundreds of comments on Instagram and Twitter which essentially said that Shah Rukh Khan was not Muslim enough to perform Umrah and that, given that he is married to a Hindu and has idols in his house, he was a sinner and his Umrah would not be accepted.

This is not the first time that Shah Rukh Khan has been attached for keeping idols in his home, given that he is married to a Hindu – Gauri Khan.

On 31st August 2022, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to share a picture of an idol of Lord Ganesha on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Welcoming Ganpati Bappa at his home, Shah Rukh Khan wrote in his post, “Ganpatiji welcomed home by lil one and me….the modaks after were delicious…the learning is, through hard work, perseverance & faith in God, u can live your dreams. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all.” Immediately, Islamists on social media started posting their comments and replies to Shah Rukh Khan’s post attacking him for committing ‘Shirk’ which is the worst sin according to Islam.

VHP releases list of 400 Love Jihad cases, demands strict anti-conversion law

0

On December 1st, Thursday, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) released a list of 400 cases of ‘Love Jihad’ and reiterated their demand for a strict central anti-conversion law. VHP also announced its plans to conduct nationwide programs.

Surendra Jain, Joint Secretary of the VHP, stated on Thursday that “love jihad” was the most heinous, cruel, and inhuman form of jihad. “There is a pressing need for a strict central law to prevent love jihad and illegal conversions, which cause social unrest and pose a threat to national security,” Jain said.

Highlighting the threat posed by love jihad, Jain referred to the Kerala High Court’s 2010 remark wherein the court had described love jihad as the most gruesome form of religious conversion. He also asserted that love jihad cases cannot be dismissed by calling it “cruelty by some Jihadi youths with perverted mentality.”

“The inspiration behind love jihad is driven by Mullahs-Maulvis and fundamentalist Muslim leaders with the Tukde Tukde gang”, Jain added.

The VHP’s list and demand for a central law followed the death of Maharashtra girl Shraddha Walker in May by her live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawala. Aftab then dismembered her body and cut it into 35 pieces.

The VHP’s list included love jihad cases reported in the media from 2009 to 2022 including Shraddha Walkar’s case. VHP has long been vocal about “love jihad,” and Jain said that its worst manifestation was Shraddha Walkar’s murder.

The VHP Joint General Secretary also pointed out that due to the terrorist nexus of love jihad and illegal conversion, keeping its international nature in view, it is important to bring a nationwide resolution and national law.

“Churches in Kerala and Karnataka say 10,000 Christian girls have been victims of love jihad, while 2,000 girls in Hyderabad have gone missing.” The high court has requested an explanation from the state government regarding these girls. Peace-loving states such as Himachal and Ladakh are also enraged by love jihad. “The church in Kerala has also claimed that girls are being kidnapped and sent to Syria and Afghanistan,” the VHP leader opined.

Another VHP leader emphasized the role of social organisations in combating “love jihad,” saying the Bajrang Dal started helpline numbers after the “sir tan se juda” gang became extremely active.

According to the VHP, it received over 13,000 calls.

“Of these, 6,285 were only for information, 5,605 were resolved, and 9,783 inquired about joining the Bajrang Dal,” Jain explained.

According to the VHP leader, the organisation will also launch a nationwide public awareness campaign against religious conversion. The Bajrang Dal will hold “Shaurya Yatras” in each block from December 1 to 10, and the VHP will launch “Dharma Raksha Abhiyan” from December 21 to December 31. “A deterrent force will be created through the Durga Vahini (VHP’s women’s wing) to spread awareness among girls,” the leader added.

Second-ranked football side in the world, Belgium, knocked out of World Cup in group stages as the ‘golden generation’ disappoints yet again

Belgium ended their disappointing World Cup campaign in 2022 with a 0-0 draw against Croatia, ensuring they get knocked out of the tournament in the group stages itself. This was supposed to be the last big chance for Belgium’s golden generation to make their mark on the world stage, however, it ended in bitter disappointment.

Blessed with some of the best players in the world over the past decade in Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Yannick Carrasco, Meunier, Axel Witsel, and others, Belgium was expected to achieve great things during this time period. However, this golden generation failed to win a single major trophy, and their last big hurrah ended in a whimper as they got knocked out in the first round in Qatar.

Heading into their last group game, Belgium knew that they needed to defeat Croatia to have any chance of progressing to the knockout stage. However, they failed to break down a resolute Croatian side as the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Romelu Lukaku came agonisingly close for the Red Devils twice, but was denied by the frame of the goal once, and lifted the ball just over the goal on the second occasion.

Croatia, who finished runners-up in Russia when Belgium finished 3rd, their best finish at a World Cup, knew a draw will be enough to see them through to the knockouts and they got the result they needed. Surprise package Morocco ended up winning the group as they defeated Canada 2-1, to end up with 7 points, while Croatia finished with 5 and Belgium finished in 3rd place with 4 points.

In fact, Belgium just managed to score one goal in their 3 games at this World Cup, in the win against Canada, where they were actually thoroughly outplayed by minnows Canada. However, Batshuayi’s snap finish saved Belgium’s blushes that day and gave them a 1-0 win. They never scored another goal in the competition though, suffering a shock defeat against Morocco, and a 0-0 draw against Croatia.

The group winners Morocco will now face the runners-up from Group E, featuring Spain, Germany, Japan, and Costa Rica, while Croatia will face the winners of that group.

While Morocco was celebrating one of the greatest days in their football history as they topped a group featuring the 2nd and 3rd placed teams from the last World Cup, Belgium was left ruing the missed chances as their golden generation wasted their last chance to win a trophy.

With most of the players in their 30s, it is highly unlikely that this bunch of Belgian players will ever get a chance to win a trophy together again. The generation that promised so much when it was coming up together at the youth level, will eventually leave with a whimper and a first-round exit from the World Cup. Along with a few players, it is also likely to be the last game in charge for coach Roberto Martinez.

The boss of the Belgian national side since 2016, the best that Martinez could manage was the 3rd place finish in Russia in 2018, which was still considered below-par for the talent that this bunch of Belgian players possesses. Now it seems like that was the best that they will ever achieve in this generation.

JNU walls defaced with slogans like “Brahmins Leave the campus”, “There will be blood”; several professors asked to “Go back to Sakha”

Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is once again in controversy. Controversial slogans were written on the walls of several buildings located on the university campus, including the offices of several professors. Along with this, some professors have been asked to go to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) instead of the university at the gate of the chambers. Photos of the vandalised walls with slogans are going viral on social media. The slogans specifically target upper caste Hindu communities.

The university students said that slogans against Brahmin and Vaishya communities have been written on the walls of the School of International Studies-II building on the university campus. The slogans read “Brahmin-Baniya, we are coming for you”, “We will avenge”, “Brahmins Leave the campus”, “Brahmins leave India”, “Now there will be blood”, “Go back to Sakha” and others.

‘Go to the Shakha’ has been written on the doors of the chambers of several professors, accusing them of being RSS members. The professors targeted by the leftist goons include Nalin Kumar Mohapatra, Raj Yadav, Pravesh Kumar, and Vandana Mishra.

There was no response from the university administration in this regard. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization affiliated with the RSS, has called it a “barbarism” by the Left.

JNU Teacher’s Forum took it to Twitter and wrote, “While the Left-Liberal gang intimidates every dissenting voice, they appeal to elect EC representatives that “can assert the values of mutual respect and civility, & equal & just treatment of all.” ‘civility’ & ‘mutual respect. Highly deplorable act of vandalism! The ordeal of ‘civility’ and ‘mutual respect’ never ends.”

ABVP released a statement condemning the vandalisation inside the JNU campus and blamed the communists. The statement said:

ABVP condemns the rampant vandalization of academic spaces by communist goons. The communists have written abuses on walls of JNU in School of International Studies- II building. They have defaced chambers of free thinking professors in order to intimidate them.

The communists have once again targeted the same female faculty whom they had held hostage for more than 3 days on 8th Nov 2019.

We believe that academic spaces must be used for debates and discussion and not for poisoning the society and students community.

They said that hate and abuse has no place in JNU, and demanded that the perpetrators should be booked.

JNU ABVP president Rohit Kumar said, “ABVP condemns the large-scale writing of casteist slogans in academic spaces by communist goons. Communists have written abusive words on the walls of JNU in the School of International Studies building II. They have defaced the chambers of independent-thinking professors to intimidate and threaten them.”

Rohit Kumar said, “We believe that academic spaces should be used for debate and discussion and not for poisoning in the society and the community of students. There is no place for hate and abuse here.”

Rohit Kumar said that the woman professor, whose gate has ‘Go Back to Shakha’ written on it, was held hostage for three days in 2019. He said that the JNU has become a hate factory.
