Nationalist Congress Party’s Legislative Council Member Vidya Chavan and four members of her family including husband, two sons, and daughter-in-law are booked over allegations of harassment, cruelty and assault of her daughter-in-law. An FIR has been registered against them in Vile Parle.
Along with MLC Vidya Chavan, her husband Abhijeet, her two sons Anand (victim’s brother-in-law), Ajit(Victim’s husband) and Sheetal(Victim’s sister-in-law and Anand’s wife) are booked under sections 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of Indian Penal Code.
The FIR was registered after a complaint was filed regarding the same on 16 January. Vidya Chavan denied allegations while talking to news agency PTI indulged in victim shaming and accused her daughter-in-law of having multiple affairs.
An official while quoting the victim said that her brother-in-law used to make inappropriate gestures. Victim has accused her sister-in-law too of mentally harassing her while she was living with the family at their residence in Vile Parle.
The official further claimed that the trouble started when the victim who has a daughter, delivered a second premature girl child who died later. She said that the Chavan family wanting a male child could be a possible reason for harassment.
As per reports, the victim has also demanded her valuables from the Chavan family on several occasions but she hasn’t received them yet.
The police summoned and recorded the statements of the Chavan family after the FIR was registered. The family denied allegations and said that the victim wasn’t interested in staying with the family and wanted to go back to her father.
No arrested has been made in this case so far. Vidya Chavan asserted that her son asked the victim for divorce with mutual understanding but instead she went to the police station to lodge a complaint.
The MLC claimed that her daughter in law was cheating her her son while having multiple extra-marital affairs. “My son, who is an engineer by profession, got married around 10 years back. Now, he has a seven-year-old daughter and we are taking care of her. Last year, she was supposed to go to Denmark with my son. One day, her WhatsApp stopped working and my son took her mobile phone for repair. Once the phone got repaired, he checked her messages and found that she was having affairs with four men. On December 7, my son revealed to me everything and said she has cheated on him. He canceled his plan to go to Denmark with his wife and daughter,” she alleged.
Shriram Millennium school in Sector 135 Noida on Tuesday decided to shut down the premises for two days and also postpone its annual examinations amid concerns that a student’s parent, had tested positive with COVID-19 and has been isolated on Monday.

This follows reports that the individual who contracted coronavirus in Italy had attended a birthday party on February 28 (Friday) with his child studying in the Noida school. This party was also attended by other students of the school and their family members.
A total of 40 students of the school have been tested and sent to 28-day isolation, IANS quoted Dr Anurag Bhargav the Chief Medical Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar as saying.
Bhargav said that the five families had attended the birthday party, which was hosted by the man who tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. Bhargav added that the man had found out that he was infected with coronavirus only after the birthday party.
The health official also requested people not to pay any heed to rumours and added that the school will reopen once the building is sanitised. He assured that the virus is so fragile that it dies within seven to eight hours in open area, therefore there was no need to panic, said Bhargav. Until the sanitisation of the school is completed the school administration has been asked to keep the premises shut.
He furthered that since there is no treatment for this virus as of now, the main treatment lies is prevention. People should avoid coming into contact with people who have visited foreign countries already notified.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has urged that the identity (name/residence location/office location/ names of family members) be kept confidential to avoid panic, discrimination and mental strain on the family.
Yesterday, the union health ministry had announced that there have been two positive cases of coronavirus with one of them being from Delhi and the other from Telangana.
Another educational institute, Shiv Nadar School, Noida, also has decided to close the school till March 9 to sanitise the area.
Coronavirus has infected more than 89,000 people globally and caused over 3,000 deaths. The World Health Organization has named the illness COVID-19, referring to its origin late last year and the coronavirus that causes it.
A day after Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif condemned the violence in Delhi, calling it a “wave of organised violence against Indian Muslims” and exhorting authorities to not less “senseless thuggery” prevail, the Ministry of External Affairs has summoned the Iranian Ambassador in Delhi Ali Chegeni over the remarks made by the minister.
“Iran condemns the wave of organised violence against Indian Muslims. For centuries, Iran has been a friend of India. We urge Indian authorities to ensure the wellbeing of ALL Indians & not let senseless thuggery prevail. The path forward lies in peaceful dialogue and rule of law,” Zarif said on Twitter on Monday night.

Earlier last week Indonesia, Pakistan and Turkey too had raised concerns over the “organised violence against Muslims”. About the Delhi riots, Turkey’s President Erdogan last week claimed that “massacres” of Muslims were widespread in India. India had then asked Turkey to desist from commenting on the internal affairs of the country and also warned Ankara against promoting cross-border terrorism.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan too indulged in disseminating misinformation on Twitter. He issued warning “radicalization…of Indian Muslims”, which according to him will have disastrous consequences not only for the region but eventually for the world also.
Indonesia too had expressed their concerns over the Delhi riots to the Indian ambassador in Jakarta. This came after the Indonesian Religious Affairs Ministry condemned the “violence against Muslims”.
However, it is noteworthy to mention that the violence that was witnessed in Delhi last week saw murderous Muslim mob running amok and targeting Hindu residents. Delhi was in the grips of unprecedented violence last week which resulted in the deaths of 46 people and rendered 200 injured.
Demonstrators protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) ran riot as they targeted unsuspecting people in the northeast Delhi. Muslim mobs, especially in northeast Delhi, went on a rampage against the Hindus and attacked their shops, religious places of worship.
AAP corporator Tahir Hussain was accused by the eyewitnesses of enabling a murderous Muslim mob to unleash violence against the Hindu residents. Hussain’s building was used as a shelter by the Muslim mob who dragged a young IB officer Ankit Sharma inside the building and whose body was later found abandoned in a ditch in Chand Bagh. The enraged mob also pelted stones and petrol bombs and vandalised a Shiva temple in the opposite lane.
The Kanpur police busted a gang involved in looting people by exchanging fake US dollars when they arrested two Rohingya Muslims named Alameen Sheikh and Masoom Sheikh on February 2 (Monday). On being interrogated Alameen has revealed shocking details about his network and their operations.
According to a Jagran report, Alameen confessed that his gang use to work to provide shelter to the illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in Kanpur. They used to run an illegal Dollars exchange business and collected lakhs of rupees which was then sent to their chief sitting in Mumbai. This money collected was, in turn, used to fund the anti-CAA riots carried out across India.
This is how Uttar Pradesh Police got the information:
The Uttar Pradesh police had arrested one Tarsikulla Mulla, a resident of Twenty-four Parganas in West Bengal, Raju Khan, a resident of Khulna district in Bangladesh and one Aliya Begum from Dholpur in Rajasthan for running the illegal Dollar exchange business. Police recovered Bangladeshi SIM card and fake Aadhaar cards from these people. Upon suspicion that these arrested people were Rohingya Muslims who were part of a syndicate running the US Dollar exchange racket, the police probed further, eventually finding that the gang is also involved in settling illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
After interrogation, Kanpur police arrested gang leaders Alameen Sheikh and Masoom Sheikh, both Rohingya Muslims, from a house in Barasirohi. Alameen used to provide dollars to the gang. The police are now investigating the accounts of these fraudsters.
Alameen arranged hideouts for the illegal Bangladeshi intruders:
The Kanpur police revealed that Alameen, the kingpin of the gang, use to help illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to enter India through the porous borders of West Bengal. They were taken to Kanpur from West Bengal where they were provided rooms on rent in slum areas in different localities.
Alameen use to arrange for fake Aadhar cards, mobile phones, sim cards for these illegal Bangladeshis. He also provided them with the US Dollars and trained them to run an illegal exchange business.
Station in-charge Ajay Seth said that the search for three other members of the gang is on.
The money collected was transferred to Mumbai and used to fund anti-CAA riots:
As police further interrogated kingpin Alameen it was revealed that the mastermind of this entire operation was sitting in Mumbai. The SHO said that the mastermind was operating the gang sitting in Mumbai. It is being suspected that the funds collected by selling these Dollars were transferred to Mumbai which, in turn, were probably used to sponsor the anti-CAA riots.
The police are now investigating the Mumbai bank account details where this money was transferred. “A team will soon be sent to Mumbai to arrest the mastermind,” said the station in-charge, Ajay Seth. The police are also probing the account beneficiaries whom the suspects have sent money.

Irshad had multiple cases of theft, murder and robbery registered against him in Thane. He was nabbed after the cops laid a trap, following a tip-off that he was planning to rob in the locality.
The police said, “We found one country revolver and seven live rounds from his possession. Following which, he was arrested.

Putting to rest the speculations of leaving all social media platforms, PM Modi today announced that on Sunday, i.e on Women’s Day, he would lend his social media accounts to women whose work and life have been an inspiration to many.
This Women’s Day, I will give away my social media accounts to women whose life & work inspire us. This will help them ignite motivation in millions.
PM Modi took to Twitter to declare about the first of its initiative aimed at empowering women and providing them with an opportunity to use his social media accounts to describe their inspiring stories to the world.
Soliciting inspiring stories of women, PM Modi tweeted, “This Women’s Day, I will give away my social media accounts to women whose life & work inspire us. This will help them ignite motivation in millions. Are you such a woman or do you know such inspiring women? Share such stories using #SheInspiresUs.”
Earlier yesterday, PM Modi had an overwhelming number of his followers in a disarray after he posted a cryptic tweet asserting that he is contemplating of leaving social media platforms. Many users who considered social media as a platform to connect with the country’s Prime Minister were distraught at the prospect of PM Modi shunning the social media platforms.
However, PM Modi has allayed their anxieties and tweeted that he intends to empower women by providing access to them for narrating their inspirational stories to the world.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time since his reelection in the Delhi state assembly elections. Following his meeting with PM Modi, Kejriwal addressed the media, informing them about the discussion points between him and the Prime Minister.
“Delhi was engulfed with violence in the last few days. I had asked for time from PM Modi to discuss it. A lot of spurious rumours were spread, especially on Sunday but the Delhi Police officials did a commendable job to curb the unfounded speculations,” Kejriwal said.
However, Kejriwal tersely added that had the police been more efficient like they were in stopping the rumours, more lives could have been saved.
“I also appealed and the PM agreed that such acts of violence should not be repeated in the future. Delhi is the capital of the country and such riots should not happen here. I also asked the PM to bring to book anyone and everyone, no matter how powerful or from whichever political party, those responsible for the carnage,” Kejriwal added.
When asked if hate speeches that may have possibly touched off the violent clashes in the northeast Delhi, Kejriwal said that hate speeches weren’t specifically discussed in his meeting with the PM.

The enraged mob also pelted stones and petrol bombs and vandalised a Shiva temple in the opposite lane.
Besides, Kejriwal also claimed that the two leaders also discussed the city’s preparedness for the lethal coronavirus which has spread to at least 60 countries and affected upwards of 90,000 people globally. Delhi reported its first case of coronavirus on Monday after a person who had visited Italy tested positive for Covid-19.
The anti-Hindu riots that have gripped Delhi, with Muslim mobs running amok, have been the subject of extensive propaganda by the Left media. The media coterie, national and international, have painted these riots as a “pogrom against Muslims”, when the aggression by the community started way back in December when mobs ran riots as well. In these riots as well, there is plenty of evidence that the Muslim mobs were stocking stones, petrol bombs, acid pouches, country-made guns etc for weeks.
Keeping in tune with the skewed reportage of the Delhi riots, The Wire and NDTV twisted a severe act of aggression by the Muslim mobs in Mustafabad and watered down a Hindu owned school being gutted by an angry Muslim mob during the riots.
There are two schools in Shiv Vihar. One is Rajdhani Public School and the other is called DRP Public School. While the Rajdhani school belongs to a Muslim, DRP is owned by one Mr Sharma. During the anti-Hindu Delhi riots, one of these schools were gutted and the other was made a den to perpetrate violence. It does not really take a lot to guess which school met what fate.
On the rooftop of Rajdhani school, which was a Muslim owned school, our reporters found sacks of bricks to be hurled during the Delhi riots, petrol bombs and several other country-made weapons.
The roof of Rajdhani schoolThe roof of Rajdhani school
While the Rajdhani school was turned into a base to launch attacks, DRP school, which is a Hindu owned school was completely gutted by the Muslim mob.
During our ground reportage, it also emerged that the Muslim mob had simply overturned some chairs and furniture, with others remaining intact, in the Rajdhani school to present a false picture of the school being vandalised. Hindus of the area then came out of their homes, braved the stones and petrol bombs in an attempt to ward off the Muslim mob. In fact, the Hindus of the area said that had they not tried to repel the mob, they were prepared to enter the homes of the Hindus.
Rajdhani school building is relatively higher than the rest of the buildings in the area. The surrounding areas had several Hindu establishments and homes which were targeted by the Islamist mobs. In fact, there was not one Hindu house that could be seen that had not been pelted with stones by the Islamists. Guns were also fired from the Rajdhani school and in the process, a Hindu man named Dinesh Kumar had also lost his life. Several other Hindus are injured and undergoing treatment.
This incident where a Hindu owned school was gutted, a Muslim owned school was used as a base to launch an attack against Hindus and a Hindu man was killed by the guns fired by Islamists was completely misrepresented by the two beacons of lies and hypocrisy – NDTV and The Wire.
How The Wire lied about the violence in Mustafabad during Delhi riots
In an article that claimed to be a “ground report” by The Wire, the lies that the portal perpetuated to paint the entire incident as one of aggression by the Hindus is rather staggering.
The Wire in its report claims that both schools were owned by Muslims.
The portion of the article by The Wire
This, however, is a lie. The Rajdhani school was a Muslim owned school that was used as a base to launch attacks as evidenced by the photos attached earlier in this article and it was the DRP school which was completely gutted by the Muslim mob.
Interestingly, the featured image that was used by The Wire proves that perhaps the portal and its reporter knew they were misrepresenting facts related to this incident.
Featured image used by The Wire
The image that has been used by The Wire, as can be seen above shows a school completely vandalise and gutted in the mob onslaught. The picture, however, is not of a Muslim owned school. The picture is of DRP school which is owned and managed by one Pankaj Sharma. It is this school that was torched and vandalised by the Muslim mob that had made Muslim owned Rajdhani school their base.
Further, the rope one can see hanging in the foyer of the DRP school was used by the Muslim mob to descend inside the school in order to carry out their vandalism.
Here is another view of the DRP school gutted in fire by the Muslim mob.
DRP school gutted by Islamists
Essentially, The Wire took vandalism and rampant and planned hooliganism by an Islamist mob and painted it as if a Hindu mob had attacked two schools that belonged to Muslims. Which was an absolute lie to begin with.
In fact, in their report from the same area, they have also failed to mention that a Hindu man, Dinesh Kumar lost his life in the onslaught by the Islamist mob.
How NDTV twisted the entire violence by Islamists in Mustafabad
The NDTV report refrained from lying blatantly like The Wire by claiming that both schools were owned by Muslims. It did report that the DRP school was owned by a Hindu, Pankaj Sharma (NDTV spoke to one Dharmesh Sharma from the DRP school) and the Rajdhani school was owned by a Muslim, Faisal Farukh.
However, NDTV being NDTV, had to paint the Hindus as the aggressors while the ground reality was completely different, again, as evidenced by the photos released by OpIndia. The Rajdhani school’s rooftop had supplies for a full-fledged civil war, including stones, petrol bombs, acid packets and even country made grenades. This fact was even reported by Republic TV where, on camera, Pankaj Sharma had held up the home-made bombs that were hurled at the DRP school by the Islamists who had turned Rajdhani school into a launchpad.
While publishing the correct ownership of the school, NDTV sneakily added a line that would tell the readers, wrongly, that it was the Hindus who started the assault first.
NDTV article
This is a patent lie and our ground report has adequately proven that. How would Rajdhani school be attacked first if, on its rooftop, the Islamist mob had stacked weapons and country-made bombs to attack the Hindus.
In fact, in the video that was released by NDTV, the NDTV reported herself says that the attack on DRP was completely organised and the school was completely gutted. The furniture was collected in an organised manner and burnt down. The building laid charred and there were massive holes in the walls that could have only been made by country-made bombs, as Pankaj Sharma held up during his interview with Republic.
When the NDTV reporter herself had admitted that the school was gutted in an organised manner and even reported how rioters descended inside the DRP school from the Rajdhani school, one wonders how in the written report they can claim that Rajdhani was attacked by Hindus first. The NDTV video also says that the mobs attacked the fire tenders who were trying to reach DRP school to douse the fire.
In the NDTV report as well, there is no mention of the Hindu man who died in the rioting. One Dinesh Kumar.
It is rather evident just from this one report how the mainstream media is fuelling the fire by suppressing the truth and painting Hindus as the aggressors. The same narrative has been picked up by the international media that is now defaming India based on the biased and motivated lies that are being peddled by platforms like NDTV and The Wire.
Mohammad Shahrukh, who had opened fire at Delhi Police during the anti-Hindu riots that had broken out in Delhi last week, has been arrested. Delhi Police crime branch has arrested him from Uttar Pradesh.
He had opened 8 rounds of fire on Delhi Police on February 24, the day US President Donald Trump was visiting India. While initial reports had suggested that Mohammad Shahrukh was arrested on February 25, Delhi Police later clarified that he had escaped and was absconding since.
On the day of US President Donald Trump’s visit to India, the national capital has witnessed unprecedented violence. A Delhi police constable has lost his life in the riots that have ensued in the national capital in wake of the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Another DCP has been injured during clashes in Delhi’s Gokulpuri. An IB official, Ankit Sharma, was brutally murdered and his dead body was thrown in a drain. Amidst the riots, a video of a man opening fire at the police, and one policeman bravely standing in his way emerged. The shooter, identified as Shahrukh, has now been arrested.
Interestingly, just as the video went viral, the usual suspects had started blaming ‘Bhagwa terror’. There were several Leftists and Islamists, who habitually shield Muslim rioters simply assumed that the shooter was someone from the “BJP/RSS” or a “Sanghi Goon”. However, as the identity of the shooter got an event, the usual suspects started retreating, without retracting their deceitful assertions.
