Security situation continues to worsen in Pakistan, unknown men gun down 20 coal miners in Balochistan province

On Thursday (10th October) night, about 20 coal miners were killed and 7 others were injured in Dukki district in Balochistan province of Pakistan.

As per reports, the attack was carried out by armed unknown men. The assailants ambushed the miners’ quarters, lined up the workers and opened fire at them.

The development was confirmed by local cop Hamayun Khan Nasir on Friday (11th October). He remarked, “A group of armed men attacked the Junaid Coal company mines in the (Dukki) area in the (early) hours using heavy weapons.”

Nasir further stated that the unknown men also threw grenades and fired rockets at the mines. At the same time, the attacker set 10 engines and other mining equipment ablaze before escaping the crime scene.

Three of the deceased and four injured victims were Afghanistan nationals. Other deceased hailed from the Pashtun-majority regions such as Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Muslim Bagh, Musa Khel and Kuchlak.

A search operation has reportedly been initiated to nab the unknown men, who were involved in the targeted attack. A large contingent of Frontier Constabulary (FC) and police were deployed in the aftermath of the incident.

The residents of the Dukki district of Balochistan are now protesting the killing of coal miners at the Bacha Khan Chowk.

It must be mentioned that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) often carries out armed operations in the province to avenge the atrocities committed against civilians by the Punjabai-dominated Pakistani army. It remains unknown whether BLA is involved in the incident in any manner.

The attack on coal miners comes two days before the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Islamabad between 12th and 16th October.

Transport aircraft of Indian Air Force conducts inaugural landing at greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport, to be operational by March 2025

0

The Indian Air Force on Friday made the first landing at the greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport. An Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft touched down on the brand-new runway of the new airport at 12.15 pm on 11th October, marking the operational inauguration of the airport being built by Adani Airport and CIDC.

Following the landing of the C-295 aircraft, a Sukhoi SU-30 of the IAF performed a low flypast over the runway.

The trial landing of the military aircraft was witnessed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with several MPs and MLAs and other dignitaries.

A press release by Adani Group said that the inaugural landing represents a significant milestone in the Adani Group’s development of the greenfield international airport, which started in August 2021, during the pandemic and is scheduled to be operational in early 2025.

As per the company, the successful touchdown of the IAF C-295 marks an essential phase where the newly built runway, taxiways, air traffic control systems and handling procedures are put to the test to ensure that the airport meets all safety, regulatory and operational requirements. The trial allowed engineers, aviation authorities and airport operators to evaluate the performance and readiness of key infrastructure of the airport.

The company added that the landing demonstrates the airport’s capacity, preparedness and readiness for joint operations between civilian and military authorities for a variety of potential missions, including disaster response and emergency landings.

Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airports, called it a historic moment for Navi Mumbai. He tweeted, “This marks the dawn of a new era in Indian aviation, where the sky is no longer the limit.” He also thanked Indian Air Force for the support.

The phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed by March 2025, after which commercial operations will begin. The 3,700-metre-long runway 26 is now complete, marking a crucial milestone in the development of the airport. As per officials, 75% of the terminal building has already been constructed, and everything for phase 1 will be completed by March next year.

Phase 1 of the project includes a single runway and a terminal building, with the capacity of handling 2 crore passengers a year. The 2 lakh square metre T1 is being designed as per LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold standards.

After completion of the complete airport, it will have 2 runways and four terminals. It will be able to handle 9 crore passengers annually, provide parking facilities for 350 aircraft, and handle 26 lakh tonnes of cargo.

Navi Mumbai International Airport will become the second airport for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and it is being jointly developed by City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and Adani Airports through a public–private partnership (PPP) model on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. The airport will be built in three phases.

A consortium led by GVK Airport Developers Ltd won the bid to develop the airport in February 2017. In September 2020, Adani Group bought out GVK’s stake in the airport. The architect of the terminal buildings is Zaha Hadid Architects, while Larsen & Toubro is the contractor for civil construction.

Navi Mumbai International Airport’s (NMIA) strategic location makes it one of India’s most prominent aviation hubs of the future, serving as a gateway to both Maharashtra and Western India. NMIAL is designed to accommodate both domestic and international passengers, featuring state-of-the-art facilities, including a 3,700-metre runway capable of handling large commercial aircraft, modern passenger terminals and advanced air traffic control systems.

The completion of NMIAL project will be a vital boost to the local economy, improving accessibility and opening up new commercial opportunities for the Navi Mumbai region.

Centre declares Hizb-ut-Tahrir as a terrorist organization under UAPA, here’s all you need to know about its Islamist ideology and anti-India acts

On Thursday, 10th October, the Indian Government led by PM Modi declared the Hizb-ut-Tahrir organization as a terrorist organization. “Pursuing PM Narendra Modi Ji’s policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, the MHA today declared ‘Hizb-Ut-Tahrir’ as a Terrorist Organisation,’ MHA Amit Shah said.

“The outfit is involved in various acts of terror, including radicalizing the gullible youths to join terrorist organizations and raise funds for terror activities, posing a serious threat to the national security and sovereignty of India. The Modi government is committed to securing Bharat by dealing with the forces of terror with an iron fist,” the minister added.

Releasing an official statement on the matter, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that the HuT organization aimed to establish an Islamic state and Caliphate globally including in India by overthrowing democratically elected governments through Jihad and terrorist activities by involving citizens of the country, which is a grave threat to the democratic setup and internal security of the country.

The MHA also said that the HuT is involved in the radicalization and motivation of gullible youth to join terrorist organizations, such as ISIS, and raise funds for terrorist activities. It is involved in promoting terrorism using social media platforms and secure apps to attract gullible youth to indulge in an act of terrorism.

The organization has been categorized as a terrorist organization by exercising the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 35 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967).

It is crucial to note that the government was examining the proposal to impose a ban on the HuT in the year 2023 after the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) busted its terror module and the NIA named it under UAPA, 1967.

NIA raids exposing anti-India plot in Tamil Nadu

This comes a day after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended a major accused in the Tamil Nadu Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) case in Puducherry for propagating disaffection and secessionism by promoting the ideology of the anti-India outfit on Wednesday.

Later on Thursday, 10th October the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at the home of the accused in the Tamil Nadu Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) anti-India conspiracy. Extensive searches were performed within the home of accused Faizul Rahman in Chennai, resulting in the recovery of various incriminating items, including digital gadgets and documents.

The officials also discovered that the accused was actively engaged with other arrested accused individuals in the case to advocate secessionism and seek military support from Pakistan to liberate Kashmir. The conspiracy attempted to establish Khilafat/Islamic rule by overthrowing the Indian government through violent jihad.

About Hizb-ut-Tahrir

Hizb-ut-Tahrir, established in Jerusalem in 1953 by Taqiuddin al-Nabhan is a global pan-Islamic terrorist organization. Over the decades, the terrorist organization evolved from its initial non-violent methods that were chosen to gain influence within Muslim communities, to a more complex approach that involves gathering support from military factions and influential leaders that have the capacity to stage coups.

The group is headquartered in Lebanon and operates in at least 30 countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia.

It advocates for the formation of a universal Islamic caliphate under Sharia rule.

The HuT has a history of encouraging and glorifying attacks on Israel and Jews more broadly. Notably, HuT has been banned in several countries including Bangladesh, China, Russia, Pakistan, Germany, Turkey, Indonesia, and others. Among Arab countries, it is banned in all except Lebanon, Yemen, and the UAE. In recent times, HuT had started expanding its feet in India as well.

Hizb ut-Tahrir’s plans to expand Islamic and anti-India ideology in India

On June 30th, OpIndia reported that the National Investigating Agency conducted multiple searches at various places in relation to the terrorist organization. Two of its members, Abdul Rehman and Mujibur Rehman, were arrested by the NIA for indoctrinating young people.

The trainees were tasked with transforming India from Darul Kufr (Land of Non-believers) to Darul Islam (House/abode of Islam). The agency seized digital devices (cell phones, computers, SIM cards, memory cards) as well as many incriminating materials, including printouts and books containing the philosophies of Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Khilafa, Islamic State, and the proposed Khilafa administration and financial systems.

The case was filed against the culprit for sharing derogatory content on Facebook, according to the Thideernagar Police Station in Madurai. Afterward, it was transferred to the NIA, which re-registered it on 15th April to conduct a thorough investigation into the situation. A search was carried out at Kabir Ahmed’s Mudichur house in Chennai. A police source stated that the search started at five in the morning and went on for more than two hours. Furthermore, searches were executed in Tiruchy, Kumbakonam, two locations in Erode, and other areas. The venues targeted by the authorities were believed to be associated with the Hizb-ut-Tahrir group. Six individuals were detained in Chennai last month on suspicion of having ties to the outfit and were charged under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

In May of this year, six HuT members were detained in Chennai for anti-India acts, including propaganda against the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and democracy. Among those arrested terrorists was Hameed Hussain, a former engineering professor. He led the group. His father and brother were members of the group. Two of the other arrested persons were aged 26 and 33, while one was in his sixties. The group argued that democracy and elections were “Haram” (forbidden by Islamic law) and championed the concept of a Caliphate.

In May 2023, the Madhya Pradesh ATS exposed a HuT module and apprehended 16 of its terrorists. As per the reports, the MP ATS operation lasted four months. An ATS officer infiltrated the gang by befriending a suspect and attending their secret meetings to collect evidence. The officer, acting as a convert to Islam, provided key intelligence, resulting in simultaneous arrests in Bhopal, Chhindwara, and Hyderabad. Some of the detainees apprehended by the ATS allegedly forced others to convert to Islam in order to encourage terrorism.

The NIA then took over the case, and the arrested terrorists Mohammad Alam, Misbah ul Hasan, Mehraj Ali, Khalid Hussain, Syed Sami Rizvi, Yasir Khan, Salman Ansari, Syed Danish Ali, Mohammad Shahrukh, Mohammad Wasim, Mohammad Kareem, Mohammad Abbas Ali, Mohammad Hameed, Mohammad Saleem, Abdur Rahman, Sheikh Junaid, and Mohammad Salman.

In 2021, after conducting searches at several locations in Tamil Nadu, the NIA made an arrest related to the Madurai Hizb-ut-Tahrir case. Mohammed Iqbal, the person who was apprehended, posted offensive things on his Facebook account “Thoonga Vizhigal Rendu is in Kazimar Street” to make fun of a certain religion and fostered communal disharmony, disturbing law and order. The case was first brought in Madurai under several counts of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13(1)(b) of the UAPA Act.

A supplemental charge sheet was filed by the NIA in March 2022 against two accused named Ziyavudeen Baqavi, a resident of Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district, and Bava Bahrudeen, also known as Mannai Bava from Mannargudi in Tiruvarur district. The investigation showed that they were HuT members and were involved in radicalizing and enlisting naive youth to create an Islamic State and impose a draft constitution penned by HuT founder and radical Islamic preacher Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani.

In January 2017, NIA said in a press release that they received information about one Adib Khan, a resident of Bengaluru, Karnataka, relating his involvement in illegal activities of ISIS operatives who were working not only in India but also in Sri Lanka. Adib was believed to be a close associate of HuT and was using several social media platforms to interact with his associates. Furthermore, he was also planning to go to Syria via Indonesia to join ISIS.

HuT in 2000s became active in Bangladesh

HuT became active in Bangladesh in the early 2000s. The organization’s primary target audience was educated youth and university students. They leveraged these parts of Bangladeshi society to spread extremist beliefs. Bangladesh’s government then outlawed the organization in 2009 due to its radical ideology and practices. However, the group’s actions were carried out secretly. HuT in Bangladesh focused on local socio-political topics such as corruption and economic inequality. It framed itself as a critic of perceived Western influence, advocating for the establishment of a Caliphate.

In August this year, the Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT), organized a rally at Baitul Mukarram North Gate in Dhaka and demanded the establishment of the Khalifah in Bangladesh. In the rally, the top leadership of the organization presented a series of so-called “issues” revealing a dangerously radical agency disguised as “religious duty”. The leaders of HuT focused on the alleged oppression by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and portrayed her government as “tyrannical” and in league with the Western powers. They criticized the “secular democratic systems” and called them inherently corrupt and oppressive.

Furthermore, they claimed that only a caliphate based on Sharia law could ensure “true justice and welfare” of all the citizens in Bangladesh. The rhetoric given by HuT was not only inflammatory and quite openly Jihadi but also sought to undermine the political system of the country. They called to kick out the foreign companies and annul the strategic agreements with non-Muslim states.

Notably, it also capitalized on the plight of the Rohingya Muslims displaced from Myanmar. In 2017, the group launched a campaign in the Bangladeshi port city of Chittagong, where they distributed posters calling for Muslims to unite in support of the Rohingya. The posters also urged “devoted army officers” to dethrone the ruling Awami-League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, highlighting HuT’s ambitions to influence political change.

It is pertinent to note that Rohingya Muslims have been involved in the massacre of Hindus. Even Amnesty International, which often glosses over the massacre of Hindus, admitted that the Rohingya Muslims had committed grievous atrocities and massacres against Hindus in Myanmar.

HuT has encountered obstacles throughout its history, including attempts to overthrow regimes in Jordan, Syria, and Egypt in the 1960s and 1970s. HuT experienced a decline following its failed initiatives, but it recovered by adopting a fresh approach that emphasized the importance of both grassroots support and strategic relationships. HuT’s perspective altered further in the 1980s and 1990s, with debates regarding the validity of armed uprisings against “unfaithful” governments.

By the early 2000s, under new leadership, HuT became more aggressive, particularly in response to global events like the US invasion of Iraq, which it used to rally support against Western influence. In the 2010s, HuT attempted to capitalize on the Syrian Revolution, hoping to establish its vision of a Caliphate.

HuT and its activities in other countries

In the United Kingdom, HuT has actively organized political campaigns and protests. In 2015, it called on Muslims to boycott the legislative elections. They also organized a rally outside the Syrian embassy in London condemning civilian massacres in Aleppo.

In March 2019, they organized large prayers and rallies outside the Danish Parliament in Copenhagen in response to a shooting at a mosque in New Zealand. The rally drew several hundred Muslims, demonstrating HuT’s ability to mobilize people. In the United States, HuT leveraged the Syrian conflict to organize anti-government protests. HuT staged two big events centered on the Syrian regime’s and pro-Iranian militias’ siege of Aleppo.

In Australia, their activity has escalated during the last decade. In March 2015, a video surfaced showing Islamic Australian leader Ismail Alwahwah advocating for jihad against Jews during a rally in New South Wales. Later, in November 2015, HuT held a conference to fight forced assimilation. They made a video in 2017 advocating for domestic violence against “disobedient wives”. The video received a lot of criticism. Furthermore, the HuT officially accused the West for a terror attack in Melbourne in June 2017.

In Russia, the Supreme Court banned HuT for its terrorist acts. However, HuT members maintained their actions, which led to their imprisonment. In August 2012, HuT members were detained in Muslim-majority areas for their involvement in terrorist actions. In 2017, the Russian FSB apprehended six Crimean residents on suspicion of being members of the HuT. Later, in June 2019, a Russian court condemned five Crimean Tatars to hard labor for their involvement in the organization.

In Belgium, they openly protested Islam Karimov’s visit to the European Union and NATO in 2011 outside the Uzbek embassy in Brussels.

In Kyrgyzstan, authorities shut down hundreds of HuT websites for promoting terrorism, including provincial web pages. In December 2017, Kyrgyz police arrested eleven accused HuT members, including the organization’s local leader, suggesting the government’s continuous efforts to limit the group’s influence.

In Tunisia after the Arab Spring revolutions, HuT tried to capitalize on the renewed quest for religious identity in the region. In March 2012, HuT organized a much-publicized female conference in Tunisia. However, in September 2016, the Tunisian government asked a military court to outlaw the group. In 2017, it was banned for one month for inciting hatred. Though the ban was lifted, its activities remained under close watch.

The Jordanian government took action on various occasions. In April 2013, HuT held a press conference in Amman that drew hundreds of women, including journalists, and addressed the construction of a caliphate. In 2016, the Jordanian government detained 15 prominent HuT members for protesting against curriculum reforms.

Turkey’s government banned its annual conference after authorities linked the group with the Gülen movement. 58 members were imprisoned.

In Indonesia, it protested against Jakarta’s former Christian governor, Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, accusing him of blasphemy and risking repercussions. The Indonesian government then outlawed HuT for undermining the state’s secular ideology and “causing friction in society.”

The group is banned in 16 countries.

India deeply disturbed by theft of Crown of goddess Kali stolen from temple in Bangladesh, urges authorities to recover the crown gifted by PM Modi

0

India is deeply disturbed by the reported incident of theft of a religious article from a temple in Bangladesh, and has urged Bangladesh law enforcement authorities to investigate the matter, and bring the guilty to book, according to sources.

The sources stated that the High Commission in Dhaka is in touch with Bangladesh authorities regarding the incident.

A crown of the Goddess Kali has been stolen from the Jeshoreshwari temple in Satkhira’s Shyamnagar. This crown was gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the temple in March 2021, as reported by The Daily Star.

“BD law enforcement authorities urged to investigate the incident, recover the stolen article and bring the guilty to book,” the sources said.

Meanwhile, the High Commission of India in Bangladesh expressed deep concern and urged the Government of Bangladesh to investigate the theft.

“We have seen reports of theft of the crown gifted by PM Modi to Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple (Satkhira) in 2021 during his visit to We express deep concern & urge Govt of Bangladesh to investigate theft, recover the crown & take action against the perpetrators,” the High Commission wrote on X.

The theft occurred on Thursday between 2.00 pm and 2.30 pm, after Temple Priest Dilip Mukherjee left following the day’s worship. The cleaning staff later found that the crown was missing from the deity’s head, as reported by The Daily Star.

“We are reviewing the temple’s CCTV footage to identify the thief,” Inspector Taizul Islam of Shyamnagar Police Station was cited the Bangladesh daily.

The stolen crown, made of silver and gold-plated, holds significant cultural and religious importance.

According to Hindu mythology, the Jeshoreshwari Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths scattered across India and neighbouring countries. The name “Jeshoreshwari” means “Goddess of Jeshore.” PM Modi visited the Jeshoreshwari Temple on March 27, 2021, during his trip to Bangladesh.

On that day, he placed the crown on the head of the deity as a symbolic gesture.

31 million users exposed in ‘catastrophic’ cyber attack on Internet Archive, pro-Palestinian hacker group claims responsibility

0

The Internet Archive, a popular digital library known for its Wayback Machine, suffered a data breach that exposed 31 million user accounts. The cyber attack on 10th October took down the website, as founder Brewster Kahle confirmed in a statement on social media. He acknowledged a series of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, which commenced on 8th October aimed at disrupting a website or server.

Screenshot of the website.

Furthermore, Brewster Kahle stated that emails, encrypted passwords, and usernames had been compromised. Experts in cybersecurity have since advised users to change their passwords right away. Meanwhile, a pro-Palestinian hacktivist claimed responsibility for the attack.

A JavaScript (JS) library on the Internet Archive website was exposed in the assault that leaked millions of users’ personal information. The people sensed something was off when an odd message appeared on the Internet Archive website earlier this week. “Have you ever felt like the Internet Archive runs on sticks and is constantly on the verge of suffering a catastrophic security breach? It just happened. See 31 million of you on HIBP,” it read and made reference to the Have I Been Pwned? (HIBP) service, which assists people in figuring out whether a breach has compromised their data.

Email addresses, screen names, passwords, and other internal data for 31 million distinct email addresses were included in the database, which was shared with cybersecurity specialists. The creator of HIBP, Troy Hunt, acknowledged that he received a 6.4 GB database file from the hackers. Additionally, he pointed out that more than half of the email addresses had already been exposed in earlier data breaches. He added that 54 per cent of the compromised email addresses from previous breaches were already present in the HIBP database.

Troy Hunt mentioned that although he learned about the development 30th on September, he wasn’t able to look into it until 5th October. Afterwards, he updated the HIBP website and informed the Internet Archive. The archive.org website and its Wayback Machine have sometimes been inaccessible despite the early attempts to repel the onslaught. The company has been improving security and cleaning up its systems in light of the assault.

Jason Meller, VP of Product at 1Password pointed out, “Based on publicly available evidence, the site has been thoroughly compromised. Their database has been exfiltrated, indicating that the back-end infrastructure was accessible, and their pages have been defaced, suggesting that the attackers have some degree of control over the web content served to users. The website has also been repeatedly knocked offline, indicating that the attackers have gained dominance at the network layer. This is undoubtedly a difficult and challenging time for the Archive, a resource many of us rely on.

“Given the severity of this breach and until they have had time to fully investigate, my strong recommendation is to avoid browsing or using any files obtained from the site until they have declared an ‘all clear’,” he further conveyed. 1Password is a password manager for saving various passwords, software licenses, and other sensitive information in a virtual vault that is locked with a PBKDF2-guarded master password.

Who hacked the website?

The DDoS attacks, which have repeatedly forced the Internet Archive offline, and the data breach were both attributed to the username “SN_BlackMeta.” The group claimed to be launching “extremely successful attacks” and that their campaign lasted for five hours. SN_BlackMeta is connected to pro-Palestinian hacktivist movements and has been connected to attacks on Middle Eastern financial institutions in the past.

“The Internet Archive has and is suffering from a devastating attack. We have been launching several highly successful attacks for five long hours and, to this moment, all their systems are completely down,” the group boasted on X (previously Twitter). However, the community notes countered their allegation and highlighted, “This group conducted Denial of Service (DDOS) attack on Internet Archive, which is a 501c Non-Profit, Public Charity and Non-Governmental Organization found by Kahle Brewster in 1996, and has nothing to do with US Govt, CIA, Israel, MOSSAD and counter-terrorism.”

However, the group argued that the website is under attack because the United States owns the archive, and added, “As we are well aware, this abhorrent and deceitful government backs the genocide being carried out by the terrorist state known as Israel.”

The Internet Archive is a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization that was founded in 1996 with the goal of protecting the Internet and encouraging open access. It runs the Wayback Machine, a tool that over time gathers snapshots of millions of webpages. Researchers and fact-checkers depend on this tool because it gives them access to removed content and lets them monitor updates to internet data. Maintaining the historical record of digital information is made possible largely by the Internet Archive.

Indore: Amir Khan enters Garba pandal with minor girl posing as ‘Aman’, objectonable photos of many girls found in his mobile

0

Recently, after an individual from Ujjain identified as Firoz was caught attending a garba event using a fake Hindu identity, another similar incident has come to the fore from Indore.

On Thursday (October 10) night, members of the Hindu Jagran Manch apprehended a youth who had attempted to participate in the Garba festivities while concealing his true identity as a Muslim. The event took place at Vaibhav Shri Garden in Indore’s MR 10 area, where Amir Khan posing as a Hindu, entered the Garba Pandal with a minor girl.

The situation escalated when Jagran Manch workers grew suspicious of the youth, who introduced himself as ‘Aman’. An ID card recovered from him, however, revealed his actual name to be Aamir Khan, a resident of Balaghat. Alarmed by this revelation, the activists promptly alerted the police.

Further investigation uncovered that the minor girl accompanying Aamir Khan was reported missing from Balaghat, prompting concerns about the circumstances surrounding their presence at the event. The police swiftly detained Aamir Khan and initiated inquiries involving both the minor and her family.

Members of the Hindu organisation reported that Aamir Khan had allegedly attended the Garba event with many girls, including minors. Upon checking his mobile phone, they discovered explicit pictures alongside chat conversations that raised serious concerns about his intentions.

This alarming revelation has heightened suspicions regarding the young man’s presence at the event and led to further scrutiny by law enforcement.

Activists from the Hindu Jagran Manch expressed alarm at what they perceive as a growing trend of non-Hindu individuals disguising their identities to attend Garba events. They have urged local authorities to implement stricter monitoring measures, including mandatory identity card checks, to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Mansingh Rajawat, the district convener of Hindu Jagran Manch, emphasized that this incident serves as a societal warning and called for enhanced security protocols at such gatherings.

In response, Additional DCP Ram Snehi Mishra assured that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty in this matter.

In Madhya Pradesh, numerous garba organizers have prohibited non-Hindus from attending the event to ensure the safety of Hindu women. This decision comes in response to previous incidents where individuals from specific communities have targeted Hindu women at such gatherings, allegedly involving them in Love Jihad. Members of Hindu organizations argue that the participation of non-Hindus in these Hindu events disrespects Hindu religious customs.

Telangana: One arrested after Idol of Goddess Durga vandalised, Puja Mandap damaged amid Navratri celebrations

On Thursday (10th October), the idol of Goddess Durga was found vandalised at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad city of Telangana.

According to reports, the attack on the Hindu Puja mandap occurred during the Devi Sharan Navaratri celebrations in the city. On learning about the incident, cops from Begum Bazar police station reached the scene and conducted an inspection.

A video has now surfaced on social media, showcasing the extent of damage caused to the puja mandap.

It has now emerged that those who carried out the vandalism, first disconnected the electricity lines and then destroyed CCTVs. Following that, they damaged the barricades, and the arm of the idol of the Hindu deity. The attackers also threw away Puja paraphernalia.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged into the matter and a probe is underway. The development was confirmed by ACP Chandra Shekhar.

To prevent any untoward situation, the police deployed a large contingent of force at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds. Hindus in the area are now demanding strong action against the perpetrators.

Update: One accused has been arrested in this case. The name of the accused is Krishnaiah Goud and he is a vagabond.

DCP, Central Zone Akshahsh Yadav while speaking to the media said, “We checked CCTV footage and around 8:15 pm we caught one accused. The name of the accused is Krishnaiah Goud…He is a vagabond…He came to this pandal in the morning since he was feeling hungry and while searching for food he disturbed the Prasadam and in that, the idol got damaged.”

The DCP further said, “This incident happened because there was negligence on the part of the organizers…We have booked a case against the organizers.”

Karnataka Govt withdraws 2022 Hubballi riot case; Islamist mob led by AIMIM leaders and Raza Academy members had laid siege at Old Hubli police station

The 2022 Hubballi riot case gained renewed attention when the Karnataka government led by the Congress party decided to withdraw the case against the accused individuals, including leaders from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

The case, filed in October 2022, concerns leaders from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), including Mohammed Arif and others, who are accused of orchestrating a large mob of Muslims that stormed the Old Hubli police station and attacked police personnel on April 16. The violent mob not only pelted stones at the police station and police vehicles but also targeted a nearby Hanuman temple and a hospital, causing significant damage.

The Karnataka Government’s decision came despite the state’s Law and Police departments reportedly being opposed to the move.

This move followed a letter from Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on October 4, 2023, addressed to the Additional Director General of Police, urging the case’s withdrawal. Reports indicate that Shivakumar’s request was forwarded to the state’s home department, which subsequently approved the decision.

Hubballi Riot case

The 2022 Hubbali riots were a significant incident of communal violence in Karnataka, triggered on April 16 after an Islamist mob gathered outside the Old Hubli police station, enraged over a social media post by a Hindu man, Abhishek Hiremath, which allegedly offended Islamic religious sentiments.

Despite Hiremath’s arrest, the mob believed the police were not acting swiftly or harshly enough, leading to widespread violence. The mob, composed of Muslim protestors, pelted stones at the police station, damaged police vehicles and attacked nearby structures, including a Hanuman temple and a hospital.

The unrest escalated further, reportedly fueled by a provocative speech delivered by controversial cleric Maulana Wasim, intensifying the mob’s aggression.

Investigations linked several members of the mob to Raza Academy, a radical Islamist organization previously involved in the 2012 Azad Maidan riots in Mumbai. The roles of several All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leaders in instigating the riots had also come to the forefront.

The mob’s violent actions, including attempts to harm police personnel, highlighted the severity of the situation. Police constables Anil Kandekar and Manjunath from Kasaba police station recounted narrowly escaping being lynched during the chaos.

The police registered 12 FIRs and arrested 158 individuals involved in the riots.

The “social organisation” Anjuman-e-Islami had decided to take up the legal fight on behalf of those arrested for the mob violence unleashed in Hubballi, Karnataka recently.

In December last year, 35 accused persons in the Old Hubballi riots case were granted bail. Seven juvenile offenders, including All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator Nazir Honya were out in bail.

The president of Anjuman-E-Islam, Hubballi-Dharwad, Mohammed Yousuf Savanur, confirmed that the court had earlier granted bail to 11 other accused persons as well.

The recent decision by the Congress government in Karnataka to withdraw the case, despite opposition from the Law and Police departments, has reignited debate over accountability and justice. The move comes amidst concerns about the state’s handling of communal violence and its long-term implications for law enforcement and communal harmony.

On Thursday, 10th October, miscreants vandalized an idol of Maa Durga at the Mari Mata temple in the Cantt police station area in Neelmatha, Lucknow, severing the hand of the idol. The incident came to the fore on 10th October morning when the temple priest came to the temple to perform the puja. The priest noticed the damage and immediately informed local residents, prompting a large crowd to gather at the scene.

As per reports, massive tensions arose when the devotees and the Hindu community got enraged by the desecration of the idol. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the temple to calm the situation. Inspector Cantt, Gurpreet Kaur, stated that a case has been registered at the police station and all the efforts to identify and capture the accused persons are being made.

The miscreants, as per the police, used a grinder machine to sever the idol’s hand. The incident has hurt the Hindu community. ACP Cantt, Abhay Pratap Mall, said that the situation has been resolved and a new idol at the temple has been placed. He further sought four days, during which he said that the miscreants would be identified and arrested.

The incident reportedly comes a day after a piece of meat was found lying outside a temple in Lucknow’s Bazar Khala police station area. The Hindu devotees protested on seeing the meat and demanded an investigation into the case. The Police then took cognizance of the issue and removed the piece of meat from outside the Lambeshwar temple. Later it was found that a woman named Alima used to feed the dogs with meat and one of the pieces might have been dragged by the dog towards the temple. The woman in the given case was arrested.

Bangladesh: Durga Puja mandap invites Muslims for ‘cultural performance’, they defile the Hindu festival by performing Islamic songs

On Thursday (10th October) evening, a group of Muslim men defiled the sanctity of a Durga Puja mandap in Chittagong city of Bangladesh by forcibly singing Islamic songs.

The radicals took to the stage of the JM Sen Hall Puja Mandap and sang the proselytising Islamic song ‘Shudhu Musolmaner Lagi Aseniko Islam (Islam did not come to light only for Muslims).’

The Muslim men, who were involved in the desecration of the Puja Mandap, belonged to the Chittagong Cultural Academy. A video of the incident has now surfaced on social media.

Atheist Bangladesh writer Taslima Nasreen, who is living in an asylum in India, remarked, “Jihadis are singing Islami jihadi songs in Durga puja pandal in Chittagong Bangladesh. What if Hindus sing hare ram hare krishna during Namaz inside mosques?”

While it is true that the radicals were allowed to sing on stage by the joint secretary of Chattogram Puja Celebration Council Sajal Dutta, he was assured that the group would sing only a patriotic song. No permission was sought to sing proselytising Islamic songs.

Chittagong Cultural Academy attempted to rationalise the desecration of the puja mandap by claiming that the song was about promoting ‘harmony.’

President Selim Jaman alleged, “Six of our members went there and performed a patriotic song and a song promoting harmony. One of them was ‘Aage Ki Sundor Din Kataitam,’ and another mentioned Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians.”

Following the incident, Hindus took to the stage in protest demanding action against the 6 radicals. Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam went to the Puja pandal and assured all-out support.

She claimed, “No matter who they are and how powerful they are, they will be arrested within the next 24 to 48 hours.” In the meantime, the Puja committee expelled Sajal Dutta from the position of joint secretary of Chattogram Puja Celebration Council.

Hindus miffed over the desecration of Puja Mandap

General Secretary of the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Committee (Chattogram) Sukanta Mohajan Tutul stated, “We can’t take it lightly. This is a heinous act. We are trying to identify them through proper authorities.”

Jamaat-e-Islami has meanwhile claimed that the 6 Muslim men, who desecrated the Durga Puja mandap, were not affiliated with it or its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir.
