Read why Sidhu’s defence of going to Pakistan is not really helping him

0

Navjot Singh Sidhu has done few dumber things in his life than going to Pakistan in the swearing-in ceremony of his “friend” Imran Khan. It didn’t help that he sought to justify it on many counts.

In essence Sidhu and his supporters’ defense is that (a) He went to promote peace and Narendra Modi had done no less when had dropped by in former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family wedding; (b) he hugged Pakistan army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa for the latter had promised to facilitate Sikh pilgrims visits from across the border; and (c) in Imran Khan he sees infinite possibility of “peace and goodwill” between the two countries.

Sidhu is completely innocent of the fact that multiple peace initiatives from New Delhi were sabotaged as soon as they were undertaken. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee took the bus to Lahore and Kargil happened, the now departed former Prime Minister had said in dejection: “I took the bus to Lahore and they gave us Kargil.” When Modi dropped by for Sharif’s family function, Pathankot, Uri and Nagrota happened. And now that Sidhu sees “infinite possibility” in Imran Khan, he forgets the basic premise of the failed state that is Pakistan: “a civilian government is always a puppet in Pakistan while army and generals are its true masters.”

Peace between the two nation stands no chance till Pakistan’s Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) stops its agenda of bleeding India to death by million cuts. Imran Khan is no better than a sitting duck for doesn’t Sidhu know the fate of Nawaz Sharif? Here was an elected Prime Minister of a civilian government who was ejected from office by the Supreme Court without any trial or conviction at army’s behest! Modi’s dropping by in Sharif’s function probably sealed the latter’s fate: for Pak army’s unwritten mandate doesn’t allow you to get too close to India. The one other elected Prime Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, we all know, was hanged to death in 1979.

If anything, Pakistan of today is far more vicious than one of previous years. For the first time ever, in its recent elections, many “terrorist groups” were mainstreamed in the form of political parties. One terrorist group in particular, Tehreek-i-Labbaik, bagged two million votes. Terrorists are being legitimatized by Pakistan and it has direct repercussion on India and its internal security. Our soldiers everyday are losing lives in Kashmir; and “peace” gestures, as one by Sidhu now, are limp, stupid and irresponsible.

And the “friend” Imran Khan by whose name Sidhu swears today, has Brig. Ijaz Shah in his team who, lest anyone forgets, is the one who has been the handler of Hafeez Saeed, the mastermind behind 26/11 Mumbai attack. It was Shah who arranged for Osama Bin Laden’s cover; it was Shah who helped Daniel Pearl’s murderer. Shah is a member of core committee of Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. Ijaz was extremely powerful as chief of Intelligence Bureau (IB) during the rule of Pervez Musharraf.

It’s unlikely that Sidhu sitting next to chief of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) was by accident. The “friend” he admires actually used Sidhu for his own political and propaganda benefit. Sidhu walked into a trap to the great embarrassment of his own party Congress and to the consternation of millions of his own countrymen.

And the facilitation of Sikh pilgrims to gurudwaras in Pakistan is such a lolly which has no basis to cheer. There are hardly any Sikhs and Hindus left in Pakistan; and the “drug menace” among Punjab’s youths has a direct corollary with Pak’s ISI. Yet Bajwa’s words were good enough for Sidhu to offer a big “hug” to the man who is behind most major internal security threats to the country.

Pakistan is only worthy of a dialogue and peaceful overtures once there are visible signs that terrorism is being reined in from across the borders. Otherwise we have a serious enemy in our neighbour who doesn’t mean any good to India. Our all peaceful gestures are no better than sign of weakness to them. Sidhu at best has been a “joker”; at worst one of the “aman” brigade who are intent on keeping India a soft state. He is no longer a darling to millions of Indians today.

Read how this Digvijaya Singh aide is running a fake news website and Facebook pages for anti-Modi and pro-Islamist propaganda

0

Unless you have been living under a rock, you must have heard of one Abhishek Mishra. A self-styled YouTuber who swings between supporting Kejriwal and Congress and who has been called out for spreading fake news and images and has often been hailed as a social media bigwig who exposes politicians. The article which profiled him talks about how he runs a website ‘viralinindia.net’ where he has hired professional people for ‘smart editing and maintaining’ of his website. Abhishek Mishra has often tweeted about his closeness with senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.

With the menace of fake news having spread far and wide, we decided to dig a little deeper on ‘viralinindia.net’. We landed on an article where persecution of Hindus in Pakistan is reported as growth of Islam. In a post from 12th April titled ‘500 Hindus celebrate after embracing Islam in Pakistan’, the article does not mention any source to back its claims about the persecution. But does say how many countries in the world are ‘spending money to malign Islam’ but despite that, people are ’embracing’ Islam happily. It cites an example of one Chandu and his family.

The reality is far from that, though. A report from DNA in March, 2018 talks about the said forceful conversion.

The most hapless among them is the family of Chandu Bhil. Seeing CID’s attempt to send residents to Pakistan forcibly, he had knocked the high court door and despite a holiday, a special bench of the Rajasthan High Court granted stay on his deportation.

But before that, the CID deported Chandu, his wife Dhami, son Bhagwan, daughter-in-law Dharma, grandson Jairam and granddaughter Kavita by the Thar Express from Jodhpur on August 5, 2017. Just before the court order was carried out, Thar Express reached the border. Now, the family is under pressure to accept Islam. So, many families like Thakur’s, Hamira’s, Bhagwan’s, Bhura’s, Khushal’s, Dharmaram’s, and Nagta’s, who had come to Jodhpur after facing religious and physical discrimination in Pakistan, were deported. In many villages, the Hindu population has started to disappear.

An unfortunate, forceful religious conversion is celebrated by ‘viralinindia.net’. There are many such pro-Islam news which is full of sensationalism.

Muslims are frontrunners in giving donations
How Muslims changed the world
Islam is peaceful religion

The website not only posts anti-Modi and pro-Islam propaganda but also absolute rubbish, like a post on how one hen gave birth to puppies in Bihar.

Hen giving birth to puppies

The article describes how the one hen belonging to one Bhole Miyan of Harpurray village gave birth to puppies instead of laying eggs.

The article actually was actually telling its readers that the hen gave birth to puppies and after that she died. Not satirically, not jokingly, but in all seriousness it described the medical miracle.

Other articles on the website are also factually incorrect, anti-Modi articles. Over and above that, there are many sexually explicit articles with clickbait-y headlines perhaps to get traffic to the website.

US President Donald Trump bowed down against former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav
Former PM Vajpayee became the PM because of Congress
Read how Saudis engage in sexual intercourse
Read where to find ‘wife’ on rent in India

These articles, especially sexually explicity ones, are used to bring the traffic where the readers are then exposed to fake and factually incorrect news. And as we explained above, amidst fake news and sexually explicit content, the website also indulges in spreading pro-Islamic propaganda.

The propaganda is not just confined to the website. The various Facebook pages share unverified and fake quotes, attributing them to politicians and the same get a lot of traction because they are anti-Modi.

Fake quote on the hug-and-wink incident of Rahul Gandhi attributed to Shatrughan Sinha

The above post containing fake quote is shared over 14,000 times and has over 11,000 likes and almost 200 comments. This is just one example. Their entire Facebook feed is full of wrongly attributed fake quotes.

These posts are regularly shared by pro-Congress and fan pages affiliated to ‘neutral’ journalists. The ‘viralinindia.net’ Facebook page was created on 13th March, 2016 and has over 9 lakh likes. This page ‘likes’ the following four pages which regularly cross-share the posts from ‘viralinindia’.

Pages ‘liked’ by Viral in India

Zee News Ko Band Karo Facebook page has 2,87,639 likes, Priyanka Gandhi – Next PM of India has 4,82,738 likes, Prasoon Vajpaayee Fans has 9,06,803 likes and I Support Ravish Kumar has 16,43,812 likes. All these pages regularly share fake and inflammatory ‘viralinindia.net’ posts.

Cross sharing of inflammatory, unverified posts

That is not it. Alexa, a company which analyses websites and ranks them has ranked viralonindia.net at 8286, higher than the mainstream leftist propaganda website TheWire.in (13,342) and ‘fact-checker’ altnews.in (81,950) which has many times shown bias in ‘fact-checking’.

ViralinIndia.net Alexa ranking
TheWire.in Alexa ranking
AltNews.in Alexa ranking

With such high ranking on Alexa and such deeper reach on social media, the damage done by ‘viralinindia.net’ is real but somehow it has escaped scrutiny of mainstream media which keeps crying about fake news. Perhaps because a lot of content on viralinindia.net is anti-Modi.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Mishra, who was once an Arvind Kejriwal fan has gone rogue and now focuses on Congress, especially with Madhya Pradesh elections close on the heels. Wonder what is stopping the mainstream media and ‘factcheckers’ and those new age hoax-busters from calling out Mishra and his little venture which is setting a dangerous trend.

‘Made in India’ mobile phones helps India save 3 lakh crores in 4 years

0

Driven by the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, the mobile handset manufacturing eco-system in India has helped the country save over Rs 3 lakh crore by substituting imports of completely-built units (CBU) with locally manufactured and assembled handsets and has helped in creating over 450000 jobs during the past four years.

According to reports at least 120 mobile and its components manufacturing units have flourished in different parts of the country in the last. India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) confirmed that over 225 million handsets were manufactured in the year 2017-18, which is almost 80 percent of the total market requirement of the country.

As per ICEA estimates, the collective value of mobile phone manufactured in India in the current financial year, 2018-19, will reach Rs 1,65,000 crore and the expected turnover of units stand at 290 million handsets in the same year.

ICEA chairman & national president, Pankaj Mohindroo, has been quoted as saying that, “Most global handset brands and manufacturers are eyeing India, which is the world’s fastest growing smartphone market, having overtaken the US last year to become the world’s second largest smartphone market after China.”

“Mobile phone imports will trickle down to insignificant levels of around five to seven percent of the market (less than Rs. 1000 crore/month) by the end of 2018 financial year,” Mohindroo said, adding that India is moving towards almost zero imports for mobile phones in the coming years.

As India moves into the fourth year of Modi governance, the country can proudly showcase several landmark policy initiatives, ‘make in India’ is one of them, that have lifted the mood of the nation which had witnessed ten years of policy paralysis under the Congress-led UPA.

Tension in Rohtak, Haryana after a cow was beaten to death by the accused, Yamin : Reports

0

Tension has erupted at Titoli village in Rohtak, Haryana after a cow was reportedly beaten to death with a stick by a man from the Muslim community in the morning of Wednesday, following which the angered villagers stormed the house of the accused, Yamin, and vandalized it.

Sensing trouble brewing, the accused attempted to flee the village after loading the carcass in a vehicle. However, the villagers chased them and had them surrounded but the accused and his friends managed to flee but the driver was caught.

The villagers claim that the cow was mercilessly beaten to death by the accused when it reached the front of his home. The Police have arrested the accused and a case has been registered against them under the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act 2015.

The accused, however, claims that the cow had attacked a member of his family. When he attacked the cow with a stick in response, it accidentally led to its death. The cow has since then been buried at the local graveyard.

The Police are still maintaining a heavy presence in the area to avoid any further conflict between the two communities. Some Muslim families have reportedly fled the area while others have closeted themselves in their homes. The mosques in the district have also been provided adequate security to avoid any untoward incident.

Aiyar’s return throws many disturbing questions for Congress

Mani Shankar Aiyar’s re-induction in Congress is a disturbing news from multi-perspectives. The act was bad, the timing was bad and the case against Congress as speaking for our hostile neighbours is now an iron-clad one.

Aiyar was suspended last December for calling Narendra Modi a “neech aadmi” during the Gujarat elections. The language was abusive and the Congress feared a backlash from the backward community in an election it wanted to win at all costs. Now the man has been brought back into the fold by Rahul Gandhi and no explanation has been forthcoming from the Congress. The least the party could’ve done is to spell out why Aiyar’s misdemeanour no longer embarrasses them.

The timing of Aiyar’s re-induction was bad too for Congress is facing great flak on account of one of its ministers in Punjab, Navjot Singh Sidhu, acting a buffoon on his visit to Islamabad during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s swearing-in ceremony recently.

Aiyar, in the past, has professed his love for Pakistan in no uncertain terms and his re-induction, while Sidhu is facing the nation’s ire, is quite insensitive on Congress’ part. It was Aiyar who had arranged a dinner between former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, vice-president Hamid Ansari, a retired chief of army staff and a Pakistani delegation during the Gujarat elections. That Congress first chose to deny the meeting and then wilt under the incontrovertible evidence carries a tale of its own.  The WikiLeaks informs us that Rahul Gandhi had told the US ambassador he was more worried about “saffron terror” than Pakistani terrorists! At once, it’s a reflection on visceral hatred for rightwingers; and a soft spot for rogue Pakistan.

It does put Congress commitment to nationalism under the lens, forget the hurt it causes to our soldiers who identify Pakistan as the source of violence and terrorism in Kashmir Valley which has cost thousands of their own brethren and India its’ brave men.

From Rahul Gandhi visiting the Chinese ambassador during the Doklam stand-off; Manmohan Singh releasing a former Pakistan General’s book; Digvijay Singh going public with his “India-occupied-Kashmir” remark; Farooq Abdullah claiming India cannot take back Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir” and now with this cover of protection to Sidhu and Aiyar, Congress looks happy in the company of our enemies and that’s a cause for distress.

And to think how Congress had moved heavens when former President Pranab Mukherjee had decided to visit RSS headquarters earlier this year. A legally-administered mass-based social institution was vilified worse than a Congress would ever do to Hafiz Saeed and his dreaded terrorist outfit, Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Indeed, whether Congress likes Pakistan or not is no longer even a question. The real query is why a set of politicians are willing to go against the national sentiment and show bonhomie towards Pakistan? Why Lutyens Media appear an accomplice to this “aman brigade” in complete disregard to facts and nation’s security? More importantly, what is it about Pakistan’s deep state that enamours so many politicians?

Full story behind the viral photo of a teary re-union between the grandchild and her grandmother

0

A heart-melting photo of a crying old lady along with a schoolgirl went viral grabbing attention of one and many on Twitter.

According to several posts doing rounds on the social networking site, the viral picture is of a girl who ended up finding her grandmother in an old age home after she visited it as a part of her school tour. The parents had lied to the child and told her that her grandmother was living with relatives when in reality they had dumped her in an old age home. This story which was doing the rounds said that the unanticipated reunion of the grandmother and the child made them break down and that over-whelming moment was captured by a photographer. But, however, there is more to this story, reports The Indian Express.

According to a BBC report, the picture that is going viral was initially photographed by Kalpit S Bhachech way back in 2007, which has caught everyone’s attention now, after almost 10 years.

However, after interviewing the duo lately, BBC Hindi came out with the complete story according to which Bhakti, the schoolgirl in the picture, told the news channel that firstly this image is a decade old and though it is currently going viral with a narrative that her grandmother Damyanti behen was left in the old age home, in reality, she was staying there by choice.

Moreover, she also said that it was because of her emotional nature that she broke down and not because of anything else. She furthered that she was aware of her grandmother staying at an old age home but not sure which one, hence the emotional outburst.

Why has the pictured resurfaced 10 years later?

According to Kalpesh S Bharech, the photographer who clicked this picture almost a decade back, currently based in Ahmedabad, Gujrat, working with Divya Bhaskar, on the occasion of World Photography Day, ahead of 19th August, BBC Gujarati had asked journalists from across the state to share the best photo stories of their career.

When Kalpesh S Bharech shared this particular story with all his pictures, social media quickly picked it up and, hence, the story went viral.

India Today shared the photographer’s sons Facebook post praising his father’s exemplary work which has currently, after almost a decade, resurfaced and went viral on Twitter.

Is the tango between Congress and the Church responsible for the Kerala disaster?

0

The enormity of the flood in Kerala would shock any person. The images that we have seen in the past few days makes us pause and think about why such a tragedy occurred. It would be too simplistic and naive to just blame this to overall global warming as the level and scale of destruction in Kerala shows that there is more to it.

Gadgil Report, Kasturirangan Report

Now let us analyse this a little further. Reports indicate that 2 committees which submitted reports to the Government in 2011 to protect the Western Ghats. These 2 reports are the Gadgil Report and Kasturirangan Report. Now, what are the details of this Gadgil Report and Kasturirangan Report (GR and KR)?

The Gadgil and Kasturirangan committees were formed because of pressure from people on the UPA-II government, to save the ecological damage being caused by human activities in the Western Ghats. One called the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (WGEEP) headed by noted scientist Gadgil and the other by Kasturirangan.

Both reports wanted the clear demarcation of an ecologically sensitive area (ESA) as an effort to protect the fragile eco-system of Western Ghats. This was needed to prevent indiscriminate industrialisation, mining and unregulated development.

The Gadgil report wanted the entire Ghats area of 63000 Sq. Km to be declared as an ecologically sensitive area whereas the Kasturirangan committee wanted to declare about 19000 Sq. Km as ecologically sensitive.

The Gadgil report was tabled to the Ministry of Environment and Forests on 11th August 2011, when the UPA– II headed by Sonia Gandhi led Congress was in power. This report suggested to make huge changes in classifying areas in Kerala as ecologically sensitive and that allowing any further building of dams, huge constructions etc specifically in Idukki and Wayanad areas may be dangerous. Likewise, the Kasturirangan report also made similar recommendations.

So how are the warning and recommendations from these two reports related to current flooding and disaster in Kerala?

The Western Ghats and Kerala:

The Gadgil report and Kasturirangan report repeatedly refer to the Western Ghats.

The Western Ghats is a 1,500-km biodiversity-rich geological formation along the western Indian coast, which is also rich in minerals.

This news report in Indian Express states: Over 13,108Square kilometre of Kerala’s area was to be classified as ecologically sensitive. The Modi government when it came to power wanted to do that. However, the Kerala state government did not agree to this and agreed to only 9,993.7 and excluded over 3000 Sq. Km from this. This paved the way for commercial exploitation of the forest and Western Ghats lands

Despite clear warnings from both the reports about the delicate nature of the environment, the Church came out with all its might to oppose the implementation and was obliged by the Sonia led UPA government in power, who completely ignored the dire warnings in the reports to protect its huge vote-bank of Christians – despite that resulting in destroying nature

  1. The moment the report was published the Church, Congress and CPIM politicians of Kerala came out against this report as it would lead to the fall in the influence and clout of the Church in the above areas, as those areas were populated hugely by Christians who migrated into the forests and ecologically sensitive areas.

In the news report of India Today titled “Kerala priests and politicians unite to oppose Gadgil report on the Western Ghats”,  you can see that PC George, MLA and chief whip of the ruling Congress-led United Democratic Front government say that “We will physically beat back anyone who comes to our area to implement this report”

  1. Now playing politics and completely ignoring the warnings about environmental damage, Sonia Gandhi, in a bid to appease her vote bank the Christians, decided not to get the recommendations of the report implemented through her UPA-II govt.

Here, in this news report of The Hindustan Times titled “Why India must protect the Western Ghats from getting lost” Veerappa Moily, a minister in Sonia Gandhi’s UPA, says the implementations of the Gadgil and Kasturirangan committee will not be implemented.

It is pertinent to note that the above news article of Feb 2014, during UPA- II rule, also warns that it is very important to declare the Western Ghats as ecologically sensitive and goes on to say specifically:

“This is worrying, because India is at the point where further stripping away of ecosystems and ecological balance — as is happening in the Western Ghats — pushes us closer to a tipping point”

It also goes on to say that “This will cause not just the loss of species and the degradation of unique biodiversity hotspots — the Ghats for, instance, has shrunk by 25% over the past decades — but will also affect rainfall patterns, river flow, water supply and climate across large swathes of the country.”

  1. It is exactly the same areas of Wayanad and Idukki that were pointed out in the Gadgil report to be declared as ecologically sensitive, are now bearing the brunt of the flood fury.

To summarize:

  1. Gadgil Report and Kasturirangan Report urged the UPA-II govt in 2011 to declare the western ghats areas of Kerala ecologically sensitive and not allow any significant construction there
  2. Sonia, playing vote-bank politics, decided to not implement this report as this would impact Christians, her vote bank
  3. Modi Govt tried to implement Kasturirangan report, but the Kerala politicians and government blocked implementation unless the protected area was reduced to appease the church.
  4. The same areas that Gadgil had pointed out in his report, are the most severely affected by the current flood.
  5. With her inaction of rejecting the report, Sonia Gandhi and Congress should answer for the floods which claimed over 350 lives.

Sadhu ‘close to Samajwadi Party’ claims Kerala floods happened due to beef eating

0

Kerala is grasping under the wrath of the worst flood in a century. As help is pouring in from all over the country, there is also no dearth of political gimmicks and propaganda playing over the plight of hapless citizens. There have been attempts to use the tragedy to propagate secessionist ideas, spread regionalist sentiments and many instances of fake news circulation. Now there also seem to be an attempt to stir communal discord and create unnecessary controversies.

Yesterday, self-styled ‘saint’ Chakrapani Maharaj was the centre of media attention due to some of his remarks. Chakrapani has stated that the flood in Kerala has happened due to the fact that some political leaders in Kerala slaughtered a cow on the streets and made a cruel show of eating beef.

Interestingly, this was not the first time Chakrapani Maharaj has been in the news. Previously in 2016, he was part of a five-member team formed by the then Samajwadi party government to look into the ‘Kairana exodus’ and had given a report that it is only a conspiracy by BJP.

Netizens claimed that Chakrapani Maharaj was close to Samajwadi Party and is their ‘prime supporter’.

This is the team that rubbished the Kairana exodus of Hindus a “conspiracy”. The person circled in the picture is Chakrapani Maharaj who is seen with the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Acharya Pramod K (in white), who had contested the 2014 general elections on a Congress ticket. Interestingly, both Chakrapani Maharaj and Acharya Pramod K were deemed ‘fake babas‘ by the All India Akhara Parishad.

Chakrapani Maharaj with Acharya Pramod and Akhilesh Yadav

In June this year, he was also seen praising Samajwadi party’s former CM Akhilesh Yadav. Before the UP assembly elections, he had even gone on record to state that BSP supremo Mayawati is the one true leader of this country. ‘Sirf Dalit ki Nahi, Desh Ki Beti Hain Mayawati Ji’ was his statement in December 2016. He had added that the women of the country will be safe in Mayawati’s able hands and he will support Mayawati as the next CM of UP.

Here is another photograph where both can be seen with senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh. The leader who has repeatedly made remarks to fan the “Hindu terror” narrative and had also released a book titled “26/11: RSS Ki Saazish”.

Chakrapani has also often times made statements against PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath.

As Chakrapani’s statement was picked up by almost all major media outlets withing no time and stirred a controversy, many on social media had wondered whether his statement was a politically motivated attempt to deliberately embarrass Hindu priests.

Many people on social media were also concerned over the fact that while there are countless people and groups carrying out relief and rescue work in Kerala, how did mainstream media paint a self-proclaimed Sadhu as the voice of all Hindus.

Kanhaiya Kumar’s PhD thesis appears in a journal internationally blacklisted as a ‘predatory journal’

0

According to an exclusive report by My Nation, the former JNU student union president, Kanhaiya Kumar has used a disreputable journal, which is blacklisted internationally, to get his article published for PhD thesis submission, shows the journal’s website.

The very eminent, globally trusted Beall’s List had mentioned that the International Research Journal of Humanities, Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences (IJHEPS), where Kanhaiya’s article appeared, was a ‘predatory journal’ (those that accept money for the publication of a research article bypassing peer review).

Source: My Nation

Varun, Kanhaiya’s close aide, while speaking to My Nation, on behalf of the former JNU leader confirmed that they were unaware of the predatory status of the journal and would look into the matter. “This is also news to us that the journal has been blacklisted. We submitted our article online. Maybe it is not blacklisted here in India. We are not aware of it. Before submission of PhD., an article had to be published and we did it so that the government does not catch us on any grounds,” said Varun.

Following the guidelines for submitting a PhD thesis, which is, a student needs to publish a research article in a peer-reviewed journal, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC) gazette notification No. F1-2/2009 (EC/PS) V(1) Vol. 11, Kumar, submitted his thesis in JNU, which he had completed under the guidance of Left-leaning professor SN Malakar in the Centre for African Studies, School of International Studies (SIS).

Titled ‘The Process of Decolonisation and Social Transformation in South Africa’, the article was published in June this year in IJHEPS, which was listed among predatory journals in 2014 by Beall’s List, the report of which was regularly updated by Jeffrey Beall of the University of Colorado until January 2017.

IJHEPS, after being blacklisted, in order to avoid the disfigurement, started operating under a different name. It added ‘research’ to its name and now operates as International Research Journal of Humanities, Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

My Nation unearthed the gimmick by identifying that both the organizations have the same digital footprint as well as registration numbers. The old version of the journal, as listed in both Beall’s List and Iran’s blacklist, and the new share the same International Standard Serial Number (ISSN 2249-2569).

Source: My Nation

The owner of the journal, however, denied getting paid in lieu of publishing articles and denied charges of being predatory. “We were blacklisted as different countries have different academic norms. We are listed legitimately with UGC,” said Shashank Tiwari. On being asked why he changed the name after the journal appeared on Beall’s List, Tiwari said it was a printing error.

For the JNU Students Union leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who is accused of helping those who raised anti-India slogans, of urinating in public, of flashing his private parts to a lady, of disrespecting his teachers, of whitewashing Congress sponsored anti-Sikh genocide of 1984, of getting into a scuffle in the mid of a flight and lying about it, and has many more such accomplishments up his sleeves, can definitely consider this fraud as yet another feather on his hat.

Clashes erupt in Saharanpur between two Muslim groups over animal slaughter, Police arrest 4

0

As per reports, clashes erupted between two groups from the minority community at Choubara village in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. A bike was also set on fire by one of the disgruntled groups and the situation in the area is said to have turned tense.

The Police reached the spot as soon as it received information about the clashes. The Police has reportedly arrested two members of each group and the situation is said to have returned to normal.

As per reports, one group wanted to sacrifice an animal on the occasion of Eid in an empty plot which belonged to one Arshad. Arshad took offence at that and an argument broke out between them after which Arshad allegedly gave wrong information to the Police that a cow was being slaughtered at his empty plot.

The other party took offence at Arshad for getting the Police involved and matters escalated quickly after that. The Police has reportedly decided to take action against Arshad for vitiating the atmosphere by deliberately giving false information to the Police.

Animals have often inspired violent incidents between groups, often under bizarre circumstances. On one particular occasion in 2017, violence had erupted between the children of two brothers over the grazing of a goat leading to the death of one of them.
