Pakistani Hindu humiliated by police : Head, moustache, eyebrows shaved off

Pakistan based Human Rights Activist Kapil Dev has claimed that a Hindu trader named Chunilal was humiliated after he was shaven clean by the Shikarpur Police for lending money on interest to his customers.

He took to Twitter to express his concerns to the relevant people.

As per Dev, after taking cognizance of the shameful act, the concerned authorities have directed to suspend SHO of Shikarpur Police who had shaved Chunilal.

Hindu population in Pakistan has been decreasing ever since partition took place due to reasons like forced conversion, abduction of young girls and murder. The incidents against Pakistani are very frequent where they have to undergo humiliation and alienation at the hands of the local people and the authorities. In a recent incident, Pakistani Hindus had raised objections over misrepresentation of Lord Shiva. To avoid such humiliations, many of them migrate to India to start a better life.

Bribe for votes : Election Commission books Karnataka Congress MLA Munirathna Naidu

After the massive controversy that has broken when thousands of voter IDs were found in a flat in Bengaluru, there was a news report that hinted at the involvement of Congress MLA Munirathna Naidu in a cash for votes scandal.

It was reported that Munirathna Naidu has admitted that the cards and pamphlets found at the flat were his. This certainly came as a huge embarrassment for the Congress right ahead of assembly elections.

Republic TV, which has been covering the matter extensively, has now revealed that the Karnataka Election Commission has lodged an FIR on Munirathna Naidu and five of his associates. The FIR has been lodged under the allegations that Munirathna Naidu and associates tried to distribute freebies worth Rs 90 lakhs.

Republic has also accessed a copy of the FIR which lists out the freebies and their estimated value. According to the FIR, 5018 t-shirts with Munirathna’s photo on them and 23,393 half pants of different colours.

It is notable here that the Election Commission had found about 10,000 voter ID cards and other material at the apartment in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Tuesday. Munirathna is the sitting Congress MLA from Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency.

BJP’s Sadananda Gowda and other leaders have cited Munirathna as a repeat offender.

Yesterday, Republic TV had also claimed in a report that the recovered Voter IDs were part of a systematic plot where voters of the area were being socially profiled and their needs met with cash or kind in exchange for votes. Karnataka goes to poll in less than 48 hours and an FIR on an alleged vote rigging case may seriously tarnish the image of the Congress party.

‘Congress has no respect for BR Ambedkar’ : Modi accuses Congess of having no heart for Dalits

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress party of indulging in vote bank politics on the last day of campaigning before Karnataka goes to poll on 12th may. The Prime Minister lashed out at Congress for stalling the bill in Parliament which seeks to give Constitutional status to National Commission for Backward Classes.

While communicating with the Bjp karyakartas from Karnataka’s SC/ST, OBC, Minority and Slum Morcha through his app, Modi stated :

“Congress wants the votes of Other Backward Class (OBC) community but they did not allow OBC Commission to get Constitutional status,”

Reflecting upon the paradoxical stance taken by Congress regarding upliftment of Dalits, he stated that Congress has no heart for the marginalized sections and Dalits of our society. He also focused on the lack of effort on the part of Congress to give Ambedkar, his due recognition.

“Congress also has no respect for BR Ambedkar. I urge Congress to tell one work that it has done to honour Ambedkar’s efforts, BJP has always fought to ensure Ambedkar’s gets due respect.” – The Prime Minister said.

He appreciated the work done at the ground level by Morchas and commented on the increasing number of people from the backward section finding commonalities with the BJP.

“I appreciate the work you do for the party. Morchas play a vital role in bringing a new generation in our fold. BJP has the highest number of MPs belonging to SC and ST communities. More and more people of these communities are connecting with BJP.” – Modi added.

Prime Minister Modi appealed to the workers to stay firm in their resolve to better the lives of the backward sections of the society and work tirelessly to achieve the said goal.

“I appeal to you (BJP workers) to visit homes of SC/ST, OBC and minorities and assure them that BJP will work for their welfare. We need to work tirelessly for the welfare of deprived and women,” – Modi stated.

The incumbent government has made the SC/ST prevention Act more stringent, Prime Minister lauded the said step by commenting –

“Our government has made SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act more stringent and increased the offences listed in the Act from 22 to 47. Stand up and Mudra Yojanas are helping to make SC/ST/OBC and women financially empowered,”

The Karnataka assembly elections will be held in 223 out of 224 constituencies on 12th may with the counting and announcement of results taking place on 15th may.

Gauri Lankesh’s brother blames Siddaramaiah govt for his sister’s death, campaigns for a BJP candidate

Indrajit Lankesh the brother of late journalist Gauri Lankesh has been seen campaigning for a BJP candidate in Bangalore, for the upcoming Karnataka assembly election, as reported by Firstpost.

As per the report, brother Lankesh was campaigning for Dr Ashwath Narayan – the BJP candidate from Malleshwaram. This was confirmed by senior state BJP leader Sobha Karandlaje:

While speaking about this decision, Indrajit claimed that while he didn’t identify with any particular political ideology, the BJP candidate was his good friend. Indrajit later started heaping praises on him. He claimed that many from the BJP and the JDS had asked him to campaign for them but was reluctant owing to him having his own ideology.

The report has also quoted Indrajit holding Siddaramaiah responsible for his sister’s death, which he blames on a complete failure of law and order. He also rued the fact that she wasn’t given protection by the state government while she was involved in rehabilitating former Naxals. He also alleged that crime had increased under the Congress government which had rendered women and journalists unsafe.

Indrajit’s decision to campaign for a BJP comes after he has time and again rebelled against the predominantly leftist disposition.

Soon after Gauri’s death he had punctured the “Right wingers killed Gauri Lankesh” narrative by claiming that she had been receiving threats from Naxalites for trying to convert left extremists and bring them into the mainstream. This had resulted in him getting attacked by left wing trolls for not towing their agenda.

We had also reported how he had boycotted “Gauri day” which saw an active participation of hardcore leftists like Kanhaiya Kumar and  Jignesh Mewani. The reason given by him was that the event was sponsored by Siddaramiah and the investigation was only going in the direction in which they wanted it to go.

Rahul Gandhi, the Richie Rich of Indian politics

Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been in a campaign mode for the upcoming Karnataka election campaign, where he famously committed a few gaffes like failing to pronounce the name of legendary Indian Engineer M Visvesvaraya and a popular Kannada verse.

Embarrassment again came back to haunt him yesterday, when BJP Delhi’s spokesperson produced a video which footage which purportedly showed lack of crowds during his roadshow in the state.

Rahul then seems to have decided to take a break from the “hectic” campaigning process and tweeted a photo of him enjoying an Ice Cream at a Bangalore joint. But rather than quietly enjoying it, he decided to convert it into a photo-op:

After tweeting about the Ice Cream parlour, Rahul heaped glowing praises on its serving quality, staff and owner. But incidentally, to the possible misfortune of the Congress President, many netizens noticed an irony in the name of the parlour:

The ice-cream parlour was incidentally named after the popular cartoon character Richie Rich, whose life many considered was similar to that of Rahul Gandhi. The character sketch of Richie Rich depicts a very affluent kid born to extremely wealthy parents, whose net worth stems from his parent’s inheritance.

Such ironies weren’t lost on people who proceeded to express their hilarity:

What makes things even funnier are the other similarities between Richie Rich and Rahul Gandhi. Richie Rich is known to have a pet dog named Dollarmatian, and Rahul too has famously introduced his dog Pidi to the world. Richie Rich is also known to have a very loyal and all serving butler named Cadbury, which might lead people to draw parallels with some leaders in the Congress party.

After calling Yogi and Modi ‘outsiders’, Rahul Gandhi plays the ‘my mother is from Italy yet Indian’ card

Congress President Rahul Gandhi today has stated that his mother, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi is more Indian than many Indians. According to reports, Rahul Gandhi was speaking to media persons after winding up the Karnataka election campaign earlier today.

Rahul reportedly stated that his mother is from Italy but she is more Indian than many other Indians he knows. Rahul added that his mother has sacrificed for the country and has spent a major part of her life in India.

It is notable here that the Karnataka Congress including the CM Siddaramaiah had been attacking UP CM Yogi Adityanath as an ‘outsider’ in the state and some days ago, they had addressed him as Ajay Bisht, his formal name before he renounced it to become a monk of the Gorakhpeeth. The disrespect shown to the mahant of Gorakhpeeth was criticised by many and earlier this week the Karnataka BJP had reacted by addressing Sonia Gandhi by her original name.

Twitter users reacted after Rahul Gandhi’s statement.

It is ironic that while playing the “baahari” card and calling Prime Minister Modi and Yogi Adityanath as “outsiders” with respect to Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi is now playing the “my mother is Italian yet Indian” card and expecting acceptance.

Karnataka will vote on May 12th and the results will be declared on May 15th. Earlier, PM Modi had challenged Rahul Gandhi for a 15-minute debate in any language, including his mother’s mother tongue.

Hindu students of Jamia Millia Islamia University being threatened, alleges group

0

A group of students claims that Hindu students in the Jamia Millia Islamia are being threatened and alleged that two Hindu students were beaten up inside the campus.

The group led a march to Gate No 7 on Tuesday at around 6 p.m. protesting against such intimidation by allegedly raising slogans such as “Jinnah premi desh chhodo” (Jinnah lovers, leave the country) and “Hinduon ko darana band karo” (stop scaring Hindus). They have claimed that ‘radical’ organizations were threatening Hindu students after the Kathua rape incident and the more recent controversy over Jinnah’s portrait in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

One of the organizers, Rahul Tiwari, claimed that such organizations were not only against Hindu students but against any student who doesn’t support their ideologies. He claims that these things have been happening for the past four weeks.

The university’s media coordinator has refused such claims of Jinnah’s portraits in the campus and alleges that the protestors were inciting violence. The Delhi Police has been requested to provide security near all the access points of the university. The police have said that it is on “high alert” and will prevent any unpleasant incident from happening.

The controversy started in AMU after Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s portrait was noticed in the student’s union hall and has been a point of contention among student groups and the public in general. The controversy escalated into violence and has invited reactions from all corners – member of the All India Muslim personal law board, clerics, Muslim organizations and politicians. AMU has been at the centre of controversy earlier when the student’s union had protested against University’s invitation to President Ram Nath Kovind.

Rahul Gandhi just gave BJP the best campaigning tool it could hope for

0

We are more or less one year away from the General elections unless the elections are advanced. More importantly, we have seen 4 years of Modi Raj. A lot has happened over these 4 years and the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be aware of this, in spite of the recent political triumphs in various states.

Modi came on the scenes in late 2013 as the ultimate beacon of hope for a nation which was starving for leadership. 10 years of Manmohan Singh had led to a huge vacuum, which seemed to be tailor-made for Modi. He made all the right noises, infusing tremendous hope. Each section of the society expected various things from him. The opposition would like to make 2019 a battle between Modi of pre-2014 vs Modi today.

In that battle, Modi of pre-2014 will win all hands down. Call it anti-incumbency, or the failure to live up to humongous expectations: The Modi of 2019 has some catching up to do.

Business people expected the Gujarati Modi to improve ease of doing business in India. Modi achieved that, but do you think moves such as GST and Demonetisation have helped those who were doing the “Indian” model of business i.e. mostly under the rug? Definitely not.

The common man is always expecting a reduction in tax rates. He is not really concerned about reducing fiscal deficit, lower WPI inflation rates, slower depreciation of the rupee etc. He just wants to see the Income Tax rates become lower and lower. The latest budget did not offer as much as was expected, given it was an election year.

On the cultural aspect, there have been complaints from the cultural “Core Hindu” that the Modi government has not acted much upon major issues relevant to Hindus such as the anti-Hindi Right to Education Act, or the warped history which is being taught to our children.

All these core BJP voters and others may go into 2019 wondering whether they got what they hoped for. Some of them may persist with Modi and BJP, but some others may decide to “send a message”.

To send a message, these voters may go to the next best party which can defeat BJP. Although Congress is mostly wiped out across the country, the fact remains, there is no other party with a pan India presence which can be even considered to be a force which could theoretically upset the BJP’s cart.

While many fingers may inch towards the symbol of the Hand, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi may have just given BJP a blessing in disguise. In a recent media interaction, Rahul Gandhi is reported to have said this, in response to a question about his ambitions to become the Prime Minister:

If the Congress party is the biggest party, yes (I will be the Prime Minister)

There is a world of a difference between any Congress leader who is fairly competent, becoming the Prime Minister, and prince in waiting, forever “growing up”, king of unintended satire, master of deceit, Rahul Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister.

Rahul Gandhi’s image (in spite of massive rebuilding exercise) is still that of the dynastic scion, who has never held a serious job in his entire life, who has reached a position in politics only because of his family. There is virtually no merit attached to Rahul Gandhi. On the other hand, he can be credited with far too many faux pas and brain-fades.

Every-time a voter is found sitting on the fence, contemplating whether Modi should get his vote, or the next best alternative, all BJP has to do is show Rahul Gandhi’s past exploits, and paint a picture in the voter’s mind, as to how he would be as a Prime Minister, given his track record. Only a Congress sycophant would not flinch at that visualisation.

In fact, the BJP can go one step ahead. While Rahul Gandhi has declared himself as the Prime Minister only if Congress is the biggest party, one cannot rule out the possibility of him being a compromise candidate of the entire opposition, even if Congress falls behind. In short, Rahul Gandhi has confirmed to the country, that the battle is Modi vs Rahul.

Even though Modi 2019 may lose vs Modi 2013, he will win against Rahul 2019 hands down. Rahul Gandhi has virtually challenged Modi to the ring, Modi just needs to oblige.

General Rawat issues warning to Kashmiri youth : ‘Azaadi will not happen, you cannot fight to Army’

In a recent interview to Indian Express, Chief of Armed Staff General Bipin Rawat has warned youths in Kashmir against fighting the security forces. He also expressed his concern about youths in Kashmir picking up guns against their own nation.

COAS Rawat said, “Azadi will not happen, you cannot fight the Army — this is a dictum Kashmiri youth need to know.” He expressed his concern over Kashmir youth picking up the gun and those who tell them to pick them this path will bring Azadi… misleading them,” Gen Rawat said: “I want to tell Kashmiri youth that Azadi isn’t possible. It won’t happen. Don’t get carried away unnecessarily. Why are you picking up weapons? We will always fight those who seek Azadi, those who want to secede. (Azadi) is not going to happen, never”.

General Rawat said that he is perturbed by the killings. He said that the Indian Army doesn’t enjoy killing but it has to be understood by the Kashmiris that the Security Forces have never been brutal like perhaps the Security Forces in Syria or Pakistan. These countries use tanks and air power when put in similar situations. The Indian security forces try to avoid civilian casualties as much as possible.

He went on the concede that he is aware of the anger brewing in Kashmiri youth, but attacking the security forces and pelting stones is certainly not the solution.

He also said that he doesn’t give much importance to the number of terrorists killed during counter-terror operations. That there are just numbers and this cycle will continue, referring to the continuous infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan.

He said, “There are fresh recruitments happening. I only want to stress that all this is futile; nothing is going to be achieved by them. You can’t fight the Army. Once a stone is thrown at us…once they fire at us, then there is no way we will not respond and respond sternly. Those how to want to fight us, we will fight them”. He defined the challenge as one to break this cycle so that calm returns.

Chief Rawat wondered who was inciting the Kashmiris to disrupt operations against terrorists. That is anyone is sympathetic towards the terrorists and want them to stay alive, they should feel free to go to them and urge them to surrender and come out of their hiding place without their weapons.

This is not the first time, COAS Rawat has warned the youths of Kashmir for their actions in the state. He had expressed his concern over infiltration of terrorists from neighbouring countries. Unfortunately, he was attacked and hounded by some sections of apologists in the media and intellectual space for his strong actions in Kashmir. The recent statements issued by COAS must be a reminder for both the terrorists in Kashmir and their supporters across the country that the present dispensation will not entertain and indulge with any section of the society that is a threat to nation’s security interests.

ABP News has asked this question a dozen times in different ways, but they always get the same answer

‘Can Modi Win in 2019’ is the new ‘Melody Itni Chocolaty Kyun Hai’. Everyone seems to be worried about this question. Well, questions are good, ‘Why did the apple fall ?’ led to the discovery of gravity. ‘Why did the stone cause ripples on the water’ led to the invention of the radio. Let’s face it, one guy’s ‘What can I do with my nasal mucus ?’ led to the discovery of Lysozyme, a natural antibiotic. Questions do lead to great things, but what about questions which, no matter how many times u ask, the universe keeps throwing the same answer back at you?

Something similar seems to be happening with ABP News. They are visibly obsessed with ‘Can Modi win in 2019?’. They have been asking this question since long but of late, they have become relentless. They have dedicated primetime shows, discussions and Twitter poll after Twitter poll. Let us have a look.

This is right after BJP swept over Uttar Pradesh. The questions continued. They tried asking in a different way.

ABP News poll

Perhaps the answer was not satisfactory. That’s admirable because a curious mind should never be satisfied with one experiment. They asked it again after the last budget. Modi’s coming back depends upon the fight the Congress puts up apparently, so, like a careful google searcher tweaking the keywords for the intended answers, they tried changing the words of the question. They asked instead: is the Congress ready for 2019? Which actually means, ahh, Can Modi win 2019? They did not seem to find what they were seeking, but they never gave up. They tweaked the words again and threw the question out to the universe, again.

When all else fails, always throw the question to the common public, in this case, Twitter users.

The quest in April.

When the Karnataka elections loomed closer, ABP News got into a super active mode. They began asking rapidly, repeatedly.

They tweaked the question again. But Twitter users are ruthless. Rahul Gandhi’s home newspaper has attempted Twitter polls too, though in a rather innovative way. National Herald thought they would win elections by blocking people en masse.

Unperturbed and unsatisfied, they went on…May 4th, 7th.

Come on now, ABP News, this is becoming ridiculous. May 8th.

Those of you who are beginning to think about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, we request you to pause and rethink, sirs and madams. These people at ABP News deserve our applause for their persistence. Let us all wish them good luck, for it looks like they are going to keep at it till 2019 election results are out. After that, well, one can never run out of new questions, right?
