Siddharth Varadarajan gives a demo of what real intolerance looks like

0

Siddharth Varadarajan, the founding Editor of the leftist propaganda website ‘The Wire’, is not exactly known for his journalistic ethics. In fact, he is a cautionary tale. He is, among other things, known for how he suppressed the Vadra land scam story for 7 long months. He is also known for publishing shoddy hitjobs which have been busted before he could say the word “propaganda”. His hitjobs on Jay Shah, Shaurya Doval, Arun Jaitley and Piyush Goyal were debunked in a matter of hours.

Despite his legendary reputation, Siddharth Varadarajan, who has MK Venu of Radia tapes fame and an abusive troll for colleagues, thinks it is acceptable for him to first spread hate, then defend the hate when called out, and having run out of options to defend himself, indulge is ad hominem attacks and threats.

The usual suspects were today distraught about his cabal’s carefully concocted tales of Hindu Terror being mercilessly shattered by the NIA court. All accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case were acquitted. He took to Twitter (his usual propaganda playing field) and questioned the NIA, the courts, and of course, Modi.

Strangely, while Siddarth Varadarajan goes after YC Modi, he forgets to mention that Sharad Kumar had too refuted Rohini Salian’s accusations about how she was asked to go “soft” on 2008 Malegaon blasts. This Indian Express report reads :

“Responding to The Indian Express report on Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian saying she had been asked by the National Investigation Agency to go “soft” on the 2008 Malegaon blasts case from the time “the new government came to power”, NIA Director General Sharad Kumar on Thursday said there was “no question of going soft” on any accused”.

Today, Assistant Professor at Delhi University Abhinav Prakash refuted Varadarajan’s claim by pointing out that perhaps he wouldn’t have reacted with such disdain if a Muslim man was acquitted of terror charges. He responded with the usual humbug.

He, of course, fails to mention that Sonia Gandhi had “wept” for Batla House victims. But that is for another time.

Abhinav responded with a scathing tweet that exposed Varadarajan’s hypocrisy and hate mongering further.

Perhaps Abhinav made one vital error. He assumed that logical arguments would work with propagandists. He also assumed that his entire propaganda was not “all about Hindus and Hindutva”.

After Abhinav caught Siddharth Varadarajan on the wrong foot and summarily exposed his hypocrisy, Siddharth Varadarajan resorted to ad hominem attacks and threats.

After threatening him came the ad hominem attack. The “how dare you puny Hindu scholars have the temerity to argue with the Lutyens elite”.

In the recent times, the rallying point for most “secular” and “liberal” “intellectuals” has become the rights of Dalits and Muslims. They have proclaimed their love for Dalits from the rooftops, even though, they have done absolutely nothing tangible to fight for the rights of the marginalised. So much so, that the brand new Editor’s Guild of India has no Dalit or Muslim face.

Abhinav Prakash himself is a Dalit Scholar and the fact is mentioned prominently in his Twitter bio.

Abhinav Prakash wears his identity on his sleeve. Siddharth Varadarajan’s took it upon himself to be patronising, antagonising and threatening to a Dalit. The elitist mentality dripping from every word that was uttered. Every sentence was loaded with disdain for a lower caste man who dared to speak up and challenge their preconceived notions of what a Dalit should be. A subservient victim who should be indebted for their empty, hollow rhetoric.

Soon, many demanded that Varadarajan be booked under the atrocities act for threatening a Dalit scholar.

This entire exchange is a shining example of the stupendous intolerance of the ones who claim to be the vanguards of freedom of speech and tolerance. The self-proclaimed “liberals” shed their masks and display their true intolerant, hollow self as soon as their authority is challenged. Their ego perhaps too fragile to endure the questions thrown at them by the ones who don’t belong to, or don’t wish to belong to the Lutyens elite, wine-and-dine circle.

It remains to be seen if the torch bearers of Dalit rights would get off his high horse, conceded that he lost the argument and apologise to the Dalit scholar who exposed his hypocrisy to the world.

Tension grips Kerala after hoax hartal call over Kathua rape goes viral

0

Parts of Kerala were engulfed in violence today as a result of a hoax hartal call which was doing rounds on Social Media. Reports have claimed that a message was spreading via social media that a state-wise strike was to be observed on Monday over the Kathua rape incident. Besides informing people of the same, the message also urged people to join it.

This call was incidentally taken seriously by people and the resultant violence caused the police to sound a high alert. The bandh participants blocked public transport, forced shops to close and pelted stones at the vehicles. In the state’s Kasaragod district, a KSRTC bus driver was injured thanks to stone pelting by the protesting mob.

Some of the affected areas include Malappuram, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Wayanad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur and Kasaragod. In the district of Kannur posters carrying inflammatory posters messages were recovered which were then removed by the police.

The police in response detained hundreds of protesters and resorted to lathicharge in Kannur to disburse protesters trying to forcibly enter the town police station. This attack resulted in injuries to a DSP. As per local reports, the police also resorted to lathicharge in Tirur and Malappuram where gangs forcibly tried to impose the hartal. Reports also claimed that the police had traced the social media posts which supposedly spread the news.

As per the police, the hartal wasn’t backed by any political party or group. They clam the hoax hartal call went viral on social media as users shared without verifying its authenticity.

The lack of political backing was affirmed by the Indian Union Muslim League, which issued a statement claiming that it had nothing to do with the strike.

All in all, this was the third strike in the state this April, with labour unions and Dalit groups calling for mass strike on 2 April and 9 April respectively.

Dear Karnataka Youth Congress, you can not delete a tweet and keep defending it too

0

The official twitter handle of the Pradesh Youth Congress, Karnataka, today had a major faux pas. Their ‘holier than thou’ tweet was about Asaduddin Owaisi announcing that he would support the JD(S) in the upcoming Assembly elections, accusing him of attempting to ‘cut’ votes of Congress.

However, their ‘We Muslims’ was instantly picked up by the BJP Karnataka handle who flung it right back at them.

Judging by the past track record of Congress and its IT cell of shoot and scoot, BJP Karnataka they grabbed a screenshot of the IYC-Karnataka tweet, which was soon deleted.

The sudden heroism of ‘We Muslims’ was not missed by common people on Twitter either, who took the opportunity to ask the Congress few uncomfortable questions. soon the IYC Karnataka handle was in full-fledged defence mode. Hilariously, they had already deleted their original tweet before deciding to defend it.

The hopeless defence continued while several other Twitter users started mocking them. In a desperate attempt to save face, they started quoting people’s tweets claiming that they always call themselves ‘we Dalits, We Women, We farmers etc. Sadly, this was soon quashed as a simple search on Twitter revealed that they have no history of doing so.

Twitter does not forgive easily.

The IYC Karnataka handle has not offered any explanations for putting up such a strong defence for a tweet that they have already deleted.

Trouble mounts for Congress as workers vandalise party office over Karnataka Election ticket distribution.

0

As the Karnataka election frenzy seems to become increasingly bigger, the congress party workers were seen squabbling over distribution of election tickets. As per reports, the party workers were seen vandalising party offices in Mandya, expostulating over the distribution of tickets.

As reported by OpIndia earlier, an internal turbulence brakes out in the congress immediately after the first list of candidates was released. The party has renominated 107 of the 122 sitting MLAs for the upcoming polls. According to reports, a full-blown revolt has broken out within the party ranks after the list was announced.

This is not the first time the congress workers were seen showing discontentment. Earlier too Congress party workers took to streets to express their anger. Media visuals showed party workers chanting anti-Siddaramaiah slogans, burning tyres, effigies etc on the streets.

Supporters of ticket aspirant Anajana Murthy reportedly staged a protest near Nelmangala after he was denied ticket for the constituency. The protesters burnt tyres on the highway and shouted slogans.

Supporters of Congress aspirants Uday Kumar Shetty, N Sampangi  from coastal Karnataka who had missed tickets blocked roads and staged mock funerals of Veerappa Moily holding him responsible for the ticket denial.

Similar demonstrations were held in Chikmagaluru by supporters of Gayathri Shanthe Gowda.

The most unexpected note of discontent came from CM Siddaramaiah’s legal advisor and party spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa. He was part of the legal team that represented the state in the closely watched Cauvery dispute case and is known to be someone who the party trusts for damage control.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the senior advocate expressed his disappointment over missing out on a party ticket, not just this time but multiple times in past. He has questioned why a party loyalist like him has been denied a ticket and a new comer has been preferred.

The Congressmen many a times have been reported caterwauling ahead of Karnataka state assembly elections. As reported by us earlier, Congress has found itself in panic mode as a ‘fake’ list of candidates started making rounds on social media. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accused that the fake list has been circulated to create confusion among the masses. During the run up to the Gujarat Assembly elections last year, Congress workers had vandalised party office in Gandhinagar over ticket distribution.

It will be interesting to see how the elections pan out considering Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is one of the last shields arresting the complete annihilation of the grand old party on the National political stage.

Law Ministry in process of digitising 14,000 courts for fast tracking of pending cases

0

The Union Law Ministry is in the process of digitising about 14,289 courts under its E-courts Mission Mode Project. After the digitisation, these courts will be equipped with computer hardware, local area network (LAN) and a standard application software.

Being designed to fast-track court cases, till date about 488 district court complexes has been equipped this facility. The digitisation would also mean the courts would be connected to the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), which would allow real-time tracking of cases. Besides this NJDG cuts down case time by speeding up the process of transcribing a case.

Apart from speeding up justice, the digitisation would also help track the justice delivery pattern in India’s lower courts – like ascertaining the demography of the petitioners, the percentage of pending cases in the last decade and disposal of cases in a month per court.

As a result of the potential it offers, NJDG has found mention in World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business 2018 report. As per the report, NJDG has enabled the generation of case management reports on local courts, thereby making it easier to enforce contracts.

Beside the above move, there have been other of instances of digitisation in the Indian Judiciary. In October last year, it was reported that as per Justice Madan B Lokur all the nations’ High Courts would be digitised come the end of 2017. After becoming live on the NJDG grid, the next development on the horizon would be e-filing of cases. The other digitisation initiatives in this regards included the setting up of an automatic e-mail information system and the introduction of mobile based applications.

The Supreme Court too has embraced modernity in this regard. As reported in January last year, the Supreme Court had digitised about 1.5 crore pages of legal documents like civil appeal records ranging from the pre-Independence period till 2002. This digitisation was enabled thanks to the conception of a new assembly line to ensure the scanning of about 50,000 documents per day.

MP cop accused of participating in violent Dalit protests and uprooting a rail track, gets arrested

0

A Madhya Pradesh policeman has been arrested on charges of him being in cahoots with protesters during violent Dalit agitation during the Bharat Bandh which took place on 2 April. The already suspended constable named Vinit Maurya, posted at Harijan Police Station in Morena, Madhya Pradesh was arrested from his residence on Sunday evening. He was later sent to jail on court orders.

As per Government Railway Police’s (GRP) station-in-charge Haricharan Lal, a video went viral on social media where the policeman was seen along with the protesters.

Local reports have claimed that the police constable was responsible for uprooting a railway track during the agitation, following which he was suspended on Friday. Since his suspension, he went incognito. It has been claimed that the Railways suffered a loss of about Rs 2 crore as a result of these agitators. The report has also alleged that more than 100 government employees took part in the protests in Gwalior-Chambal region.

In the context of the constable, the report claimed that he assimilated with the protesters at 7:00 AM in the morning and by 9:30 AM he and others had managed to stop the Chattisgarh express. He and others also allegedly damaged the coach and engine of the said train. After indulging in such hooliganism till about 11:00 AM he left the venue and reported for duty.

Besides the policeman, the Madhya Pradesh authorities have also taken action against three government employees for participating in the said Bandh after taking an official leave. As reported, Ramprasad Shankhwar and Babu Singh Dulawat – two assistant teachers and Ravindra Kathuria a health department employee have been suspended.

Madhya Pradesh was amongst one of the most badly affected regions during the 2 April violent protests which resulted in the deaths of at least four people in Gwalior and Morena. The means of protest also included an agitator firing gunshots in Gwalior.

Critical letter to PM Modi publicised by Shashi Tharoor, now denounced by one of its signatories

0

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s four-day visit to the United Kingdom (UK), a UK organisation named National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) wrote a letter to PM Modi urging him to take “extraordinary measures” for ensuring justice in rape cases. This letter which was signed by 19 other India-related UK college societies was delivered to the Indian High Commission in London.

The letter dated 14 April expressed horror over two recent rapes in Kathua and Unnao, and demanded immediate proceedings against the accused in the matter. It further “demanded” that PM Modi set an example and prove that the Indian government cares for the well being and dignity of women and children. The letter also accused the Modi government of having a delayed response to these crimes, and called for the PM to take “extraordinary steps to prove that India’s daughters matter”.

The NISAU letter also claimed that in total it had 18 other signatories to its letter.

Since its publication in the media the letter was given publicity by controversial Congress MP Shashi Tharoor:

Now the letter has managed to court controversy after one of its signatories named “Queen Mary Indian Society” has claimed that wasn’t formally consulted regarding certain sections of it. As a result, the society claims to have rejected the letter in its entirety and rejected the notion of it co-writing the same:

OpIndia reached out to Queen Mary Indian Society who confirmed the authenticity of the said tweet. They also claimed that NISAU had contacted them and read out the letter. In response, the QM Indian Society recommended several changes to it. NISAU they claim never followed up after this.

The society further claims that the final letter posted by NISAU was “radically different” from what was discussed on that phone call, which also didn’t incorporate the changes suggested. Thus they contacted NISAU to remove their endorsement of the letter.

In further damnation for NISAU, Sweta Raghavan a life scientist who claims to be a former elected student officer in the UK, called it a “self-styled undemocratic outfit falsely claiming to represent Indian students”. She thus explained this letter by NISAU as a “shoddy tactic to gain legitimacy”.

If the charges against NISAU are indeed true then it raises the question as to why did Tharoor not carry out sufficient checks before deciding to publicise the letter, which as accused, may have a hidden agenda behind it.

All accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case acquitted, Congress’ ‘Hindu Terror’ smokescreen torn apart

0

All accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case were acquitted by a special NIA court today in Hyderabad. According to reports, the NIA court stated that the evidence against the accused was not satisfactory.

The blasts on May 18, 2007, had claimed 9 lives and 58 others were injured. In the violence that followed after the blast, 5 more people had died in police firing. This is not the first acquittal in this case either. According to reports, after the blasts, the police suspected the involvement of Pakistan based terror group Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami (HuJI) in the blasts. The Hyderabad police had also interrogated about 90 men and charge-sheeted 21 of them including one Billal, who was considered the mastermind and was linked with HuJI. Billal was killed in a shootout and on January 1, 2009, all the accused were acquitted by the Nampally criminal court.

After the acquittal of all the accused by a court, the case was handed over to CBI in 2009. the CBI suggested a whole new angle in the case and filed a charge sheet against RSS pracharak Devendra Gupta and activist Lokesh Sharma, both were reportedly working for another RSS man Sunil Joshi, all from Madhya Pradesh. From the CBI, the case was then handed over to the NIA in 2011. The ten accused charge-sheeted by NIA were all ‘Right Wing’ Hindu activists. Swami Aseemanand was charge-sheeted by the NIA including 9 others.

The 10 accused charged by the NIA were Devendra Gupta, Lokesh Sharma, Sandeep Dange, Ramchandra Kalsangra, Sunil Joshi, Bharat Rateshwar, Rajendra Choudhary, Tejram Parmar, Amit Chouhan and Swami Aseemanand.

Among them, only Swami Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Devendra Gupta, Bharat Rateswar and Rajendra Choudhary were arrested and faced trials. Sunil Joshi was murdered during the trials, Dange and Kalsangra were absconding and investigations against Parmar and Chauhan are still on-going.

According to reports, more than 220 witnesses were examined and over 441 documents were produced before the court. The court has found that the pieces of evidence submitted were unsatisfactory and insufficient to hold the accused guilty.

The charge sheet filing and subsequent arrests of these people happened at a time when the former UPA government was crying hoarse over ‘Hindu Terror.’ Right from the Malegaon blasts of 2006 and the subsequent arrest of Lt. Col. Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya, the dominant narrative of ‘Hindu Terror’ was being propagated widely and many would notice that how the ‘ Hindu Terror’ narrative was pasted into this case after the CBI took over the investigations in 2009.

From Malegaon Blasts, Samjhauta Express blasts, Ajmer blasts to Hyderabad blasts, during a certain period of time, a certain group of political leaders in power had used the same narrative that has been peddled over and over again to paint Hindus as terrorists and it now seems evident, that the entire narrative was based on nothing but rhetoric.

The blame for this terror fell on the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. All the accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case were from Abhinav Bharat, a group supported by the RSS. The former Home MInisters P Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde have both used this term. Congress and its supporters have used this term again and again. The charges against Lt Col. Purohit did not hold and he was granted bail and reinstated with full rank and honours with the Army. After today’s verdict when the accused were all acquitted by the court, the false narrative has finally fallen apart and exposed its propagators again.

Shocking details of the UPA’S attempts to propagate the idea of Hindu Terror were revealed by Former Undersecretary of Home Affairs RVS Mani. He had explained in detail how carefully and cleverly the term Hindu Terror was coined and executed to paint a false picture. Mani had explained that Lt Col. Purohit was framed by the then UPA government because he was breaking the back of Islamic Radicalisation groups in India. He had stated that in all the cases, be it Malegaon blasts, Samjhauta Blasts and Batla House encounter, a false narrative was created by the UPA leaders to blame it all on ‘Hindu Terror’.

RVS Mani has expressed the similar words in case of the Mecca Masjid blasts too. He has gone further to add that all the pieces of evidence were engineered to propagate the false narrative.

After today’s acquittals, there are already cries from the usual voices that are claiming bias and condemning the criminal justice system of the country. But interestingly, the criminal justice system was not questioned at all when the 21 people accused by the Hyderabad police got acquitted or the accused in the 2G scam were declared not guilty. The people who were the main powers behind the ‘Hindu Terror’ propaganda have now moved on to soft Hindutva rhetoric sensing changing tides, but sadly, there is no compensation for the pain and harassment that people like Lt Col Purohit, Pragya Thakur, Swami Aseemanand and others had to live with all these years.

Congress’ loud shrills questioning this verdict and all the evidence that they concocted the ‘Hindu Terror’ bogey points to the strategy being Soft Hindutva in public, minority appeasement in private and creating caste divide in secret.

‘Hindu Terror’ was a smokescreen created to fool the people of this nation and protect a chosen few, that screen is being torn apart finally.

I am a Hindu and I am tired and angry

0

I am an Indian Hindu and I am tired. And I am angry.

I am tired of the constant outrage, of the incessant, unceasing assaults on my faith, on my festivals, on my traditions and beliefs, on my way of life.

I am tired of the constant attempt to heap guilt on me as a Hindu. I am tired of my Gods, my sacred symbols, my way of worship being ridiculed and vilified every time. I am tired of cheap hashtag activism so gleefully disseminated by the Hinduphobic elite.

I am tired of the systematic legal and constitutional oppression of my fundamental rights in my own country. I am tired of my educational institutes being forced to shut down by callous governments and I am tired of my temples being used as milking cows by regimes of every hue, red, green or Saffron!

I am tired of the assaults, relentless, and unceasing on my very existence.

I am tired of being at the receiving end of attacks from Chrislamists, from communists, from the media-academia-entertainment industry cabal.

I am tired of the inaction of people whom we elected as our leaders,  but above all, I am tired of the utter spinelessness of the average urban, western educated bleating Dhimmi Hindu.

I am tired of the constant, well-funded, well-planned, systematically run campaigns that try to divide the Hindus, and I am tired of how easily we let ourselves get divided at every juncture. Caste, language, food, gender, any excuse will do for us to divide ourselves into tiny splinter groups!

I am tired of the very same people who plaintively whine ‘but but but, terror has no religion’ after every Islamic terror attack lay the blame of a terrible crime like rape, at the door of every Hindu, and I am tired of brain-dead, Dhimmi Hindus who gather the guilt and proudly wear it on their sleeve willingly like a badge of honour. I am tired of the useless virtue-signalling of idiot dhimmi Hindus, who do not realise that in an Islamist’s eyes, we are all Kafirs, even idiot dhimmi Hindus!

I am tired of the abject surrender by the namesake Hindu elite, their open co-opting with the enemy, their enthusiastic lapping up of anti-Hindu propaganda for selfish gains, their craven sucking up to the very people who grind their faces in the dirt every time. I am tired of how every time the so-called Hindu leadership ends up selling out Hindu interests to seek approval of the same Chrislamocommies who openly despise them.

I am tired of meaningless platitudes that some of our people give about how retaliation is not the ‘Hindu way’ and how we should accept all the insults thrown at us meekly because we are a ‘civilisation that survived’!

Really? Cockroaches survive too as a race, despite millions of their brethren getting exterminated every year, does that mean a cockroach has an honourable existence?

We are in the middle of a civilisational war, and if you are a Hindu and cannot see it, or you choose not to see it, then perhaps you deserve to be on the losing side.

There are so many moments when I ask myself if the fight is worth it. There are days when I want to leave the outrage far behind and focus on things that make me happy – the Tri-Sutri of Temples, Textiles and Travel!

And then, I travel to an Indian village and see people wearing their Hindu-ness with pride. I visit an ancient temple carved out top-down from a solid mountain, I see weavers doing Namaskar to their loom first thing in the morning before starting work,  finding a deep spiritual connect with the work they are doing. I see Hindu-ness acting as a firm anchor, connecting people to their roots, and I find myself getting rejuvenated.

For centuries, they destroyed our temples, they vandalised our Murtis, they raped our women and they sold our children into slavery. And yet, people held on to their Dharma against all odds. These were ordinary people, people with no great means, people of little learning maybe, but with great faith. Yes, I see the same Dharma being practised even today with the same steadfastness.

Yes, what we have together is worth fighting for! As Hindus who are aware of the sinisterness of the attacks on the Dharma, it is our duty to fight.

As Sitaram Goyal once put it, every conscious Hindu mind is a soldier for the Dharma.

Remember, धर्मएवहतोहन्तिधर्मोरक्षतिरक्षितः

Dharma protects those who protect it!

Rohingya camp in Delhi gutted by fire, preliminary probe suggests short circuit to be the cause

0

A major fire has gutted about 50 shanties in the Rohingya refugee camp in Delhi. According to reports, the fire broke out early on Sunday morning and soon spread in the camp located in the Kalindikunj area of Southeast Delhi.

About 230 Rohingyas have reportedly lost their shanties in the fire that broke early on Sunday. The fire reportedly started from a toilet and soon engulfed the camp. Many Rohingyas have stated that they have lost their belongings and documents, including ID cards issued by the UN, in the fire.

Eleven fire engines were rushed to the spot and it took almost three hours to douse the flames. Almost all shanties were made up of asbestos sheets and burned up fast as they were built close to each other.

The police have taken measures to provide the affected with shelter, food and drinking water. Police officials, with help from locals, have set up tarpaulin tents in the nearby area and are reportedly providing food, water and other basic necessities to the affected people. Locals have reportedly set up temporary kitchens to feed them and UN aid workers have also reached the spot.

The police are yet to establish the cause of the fire and a preliminary probe suspected a short circuit. A forensic team has been investigating on the spot of the incident. Around 60 families were living in that camp and no casualty has been reported.
