The ‘ecosystem’ that seeks to gain political mileage from heinous crimes should be rejected by India

0

As a citizen of India, I was concerned by the silence of the Prime Minister of India over horrific incidents of rape in India. I expected the leader to speak on an important issue. Finally, he came out and assured the nation that culprits would not be spared. Two ministers in the state of Jammu and Kashmir who had allegedly supported rapists were made to resign. These developments were reassuring. I saw the media pressure on the establishment to act as a positive sign. However, the narrative unfolding after these events scares me.

Shashi Tharoor who is known for his ‘erudition’ tweeted posters demanding the ouster of BJP canvassers outside Kerala homes. Does this mean that men affiliated with BJP alone are rapists? What is the statistic that this rhetoric is being based on? This is indeed a sick way to address the sensitive issue of disturbing crimes happening in the country. Perhaps Mr Tharoor has forgotten two members of Congress B.K. Biju and P.K. Shamsuddeen who were awarded life imprisonment for raping and murdering a woman named Radha in a Congress office.  I was expecting something better from an educated man who had served in UN for many decades.

His party boss, Rahul Gandhi who led a candlelight march in Delhi to protest against Kathua and Unnao rape victims could not ensure security for women from his own party men as per the account of a journalist who was at the march. Has the Congress lost focus on the issue of women’s safety in its blatant politicking?

Compare this with Rajeev Chandrasekhar. He had been working on justice for minor victims of sexual assault since 2017. In his recent, exclusive interview with OpIndia, he said that the laws should be strengthened and prosecution at the level of state government level must be improved. He added that the registry of convicted sex offenders must be operationalised to ensure that children are protected from repeat offenders. Chandrasekhar added that the threshold level for capital punishment for crimes against children must be brought down. He added that the Kathua case must be fast-tracked and guilty must be brought to book swiftly.

Menaka Gandhi, the minister from women and child development announced that amendments to the POCSO act would be brought in to ensure that rape against children younger than 12 years can be punished with death penalty.

These are the kind of ideas that will go a long way in ensuring that justice is done to children who have been sexually assaulted.

The anti-Modi cabal has not come up with any positive or constructive solution to combat crimes against children. It has not come about with a plan to improve the prosecution system or judiciary to ensure that victims get justice in time. Instead they seem to have invested their energies in a political campaign.

Teesta Setalvad who is now out of jail in an embezzlement case wants to ‘drive out the ideology’ which she hates. I wonder whether she is concerned about justice for the victim or anticipating a political establishment which will drop cases registered against her.

Clearly, the journalist Rana Ayyub has displayed remorseless political vulturism in her commentary on Kathua rape incident. Her concern for the rape victim was forgotten and her opposition to Hindutva took centre stage in this tweet.

It is of course not surprising. Rana Ayyub is the very propagandist who had written an entire article blaming the “Hindu fascists” and the ideology she despises when a nun was raped in West Bengal. The rapists turned out to be Bangladeshis, and just like that, her concern for violence against women and her quest for justice vanished.

In addition to this, blatant use of Hindu gods and symbols to insinuate against Hindus indicates that a more sinister propaganda is at work in the matter. We must remember that these are the same people who strive hard to cover up the religious identity of accused when a crime committed by members of minorities are reported.

Can we trust the politicians like Shashi Tharoor and Rahul Gandhi to ensure that the right policies and the justice delivery system are in place to prosecute crimes against children? I don’t think so. Can we trust journalists like Shekhar Gupta, Rana Ayyub to report crimes against children impartially? I don’t think so. Can we trust activists like Teesta Setalvad to fight for victims without thinking about political party ruling the country? I don’t think so.

The reason for my apprehension is this: they will not hesitate to use such heinous crimes as a political tool to further their own agenda. They will also not hesitate to look away from a crime when it doesn’t suit their political agenda. This is dangerous for the entire country. Political vultures will destroy the country if left unchecked.

In a major win against left wing extremism, 44 Maoist affected districts removed from affected list

0

In a significant move which shows shrinking influence of left-wing extremists, the government has removed 44 districts from the list of 126 Naxalism-hit areas. However, 8 new districts, 3 of which are in Kerala, have been added as a ‘pre-emptive’ measure. According to Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, the geographical spread of left-wing extremist violence has shrunk significantly in the last four years due to a multi-furcated strategy.

“There is no influence or negligible presence of LWE in 44 districts and most of the Naxal violence is confined now only to 30 worst-affected districts,” he said. Earlier, we had reported how the revamped counterinsurgency plans have reduced Maoist influence to just 58 districts.

Gauba said significant features of the anti-Naxal policy were zero tolerance towards violence coupled with a big push to developmental activities so that benefits of new roads, bridges, telephone towers reach the poor and the vulnerable in the affected areas.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had categorised 106 districts in 10 states as LWE-affected districts. These districts are covered under the security-related expenditure (SRE) scheme for the purpose of indemnification of security-related expenditure like transportation, communication, the hiring of vehicles, stipend to surrendered Maoists, construction of infrastructure for forces etc.

This grouping provided the basis for focused distribution of resources – both security and development related.

The MHA has recently undertaken a comprehensive exercise in consultation with the states to review the affected districts in order to ensure that deployment of forces and resources is in sync with the changed ground reality.

According to reports, 44 districts have been excluded and 8 new districts have been added to the list of SRE districts as a presumptive step to check any attempts by Maoists to enhance the area of influence. Hence, taking the total number of SRE districts now to 90, another official said.

Similarly, the number of worst LWE-hit districts has also come down to 30 from 35. Incidents of violence have seen a 20 percent decline with a 34 percent reduction in related deaths in 2017 as compared to 2013, the official reportedly said. Among the 90 districts, 32 districts have reported no violence in last few years while only 58 districts have reported violence in 2017.

In order to counter Maoist efforts to expand their prominence in tribal areas at the tri-junction of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, three districts of Kerala have been included in the list of SRE districts, though the fact remains that there is no violence in the new districts and the move is presumptive.

The central government is also providing Rs 1,000 crore as 100 percent grant to 35 LWE-affected districts under the Integrated Action Plan (IAP). The utilisation of the fund is decided by a committee headed by the District Collector and consisting of the Superintendent of Police of the District Forest Officer.

The government is also taking significant steps to curb the Maoist insurgency. Senior security advisor in the home ministry, K Vijay Kumar, says that Maoists are certainly rattled (after the casualties in recent years) and their capability to strike at any time has been seriously damaged. He said that our forces have moved to areas considered Maoist strongholds and the Maoist attack in Sukma shows that it was a reaction to our success.

The district-level committee has the discretion to spend the amount on development schemes of their choice based on the need of the district.

An inter-ministerial meeting, held recently under the chairmanship of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, has also allowed the state governments to give environmental clearance up to 40 hectares of forest land in LWE-hit areas for carrying out development works.

All the accused in Kathua rape case plead ‘not guilty’, seek a narco test

0

The trial in the Kathua rape case involving the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl began today, with all the accused seeking a narco test. As per reports, all the eight accused in this matter have pleaded not-guilty.

During the trial, the district and sessions court judge sought the copies of the charge sheet from the crime branch and fixed 28 April as the date of the next hearing. Out of the eight accused, one is a juvenile who moved a bail application before the judicial magistrate.

To facilitate the trial, the Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed two special prosecutors who belong to the Sikh community, for supposedly bringing in neutrality the case having communal undertones.

Under a narco test, the subject’s imagination is neutralised by being made semi-conscious, via the injection of Sodium Pentothal or Sodium Amytal. Usually a subject needs to use his/her imagination to lie, hence in this semi-conscious state one’s imagination is neutralised.

As a result of this, it becomes difficult for the subject to lie and the responses are restricted to already known facts. Under this state, the subject is only rendered capable of answering simple questions.

The dose of chemicals injected depends on factors like age, sex health and physical condition. The dosage needs to be carefully injected as a wrong amount may lead to coma or death.

The legal admission of the narco test though is considered sketchy, with the Supreme Court banning its forcible usage citing individual rights violation. Also, the test isn’t easy to come by for those wanting to willingly subject themselves to it. As reported in September 2017, the Supreme Court had dismissed an accused’s petition seeking it after finding no merit in the application.

Never considered Rahul Gandhi as clown, he is a dangerous man: BJP MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar

0

BJP supporters have often treated Rahul Gandhi as a source of amusement and subject of thousands of memes and jokes, but BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka Rajeev Chandrasekhar believes that Rahul Gandhi is not some clown, but a man who’s playing and orchestrating a very dangerous game.

“I never considered him a clown. I never describe political opponents that way. I describe them as either being good for the country or being terribly bad for the country. And I consider this gentleman and his whole ecosystem and political strategy as being deeply dangerous and divisive and built on a house of cards of lies and fake everything. A clown implies that you provide joy and happiness to young children, and I assure that is not what comes to mind when I think about Rahul Gandhi,” he explained.

Referring to Congress’s strategy of basing their entire campaign on divisive and sectarian issues like separate religion for Lingayats, north-south divide, one caste against another, Chandrasekhar said that all these were attempts to hide the failures of the state government.

“This elections is about his performance as a CM and his government’s performance in these 5 years. The corruption and the large number of people of his own party and government that have been caught with undisclosed income post demonetisation. There are many relevant questions that will be posed,” he said.

“It is given that they are trying to make this election about everything but their own performance. They have brought the flag in, the Kannada pride, Nava Karnataka Nirmana, they have brought in Rahul Gandhi’s visit talking about Banking scam and every other issue except the most important issue that the voters in Karnataka want to know, that is about the performance of the Siddaramaiah – Rahul Gandhi government. And these are the questions that will get amped up and more visible. These questions cannot be ducked by the duo in the coming weeks,” he added.

The BJP leader said that the party will not let Congress get away with its agenda and keep asking about Siddaramaiah government’s failures.

“Whether you are a voter from any district of Karnataka, whether it is farmer distress, water shortage, corruption, dividing the Lingayat community, dividing people on the basis of faith and religion, there are many questions that Siddaramaiah will have to answer and every effort of his to duck that and make this about something else will be defeated. And I can assure you on the behalf of the people of Karnataka, that they will not succeed,” he told OpIndia.com in an exclusive interview.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s midnight candle march in wake of Unnao and Kathua rapes, Chandrasekhar said that the Congress President should first ask Siddaramaiah to ensure children are safe in Karnataka.

“I would have preferred the candlelight vigil to be about when are we arresting these people, what will the punishment be, what kind of amendments are required so we never have this again,” he said, adding that “The Congress government during the UPA commissioned a study about child sexual abuse and found in their own study that up to 40% Indian children were vulnerable to abuse. And they did nothing. The Karnataka government, for example, has done precisely zero.”

He also narrated a 2014 incident where a couple had approached Chandrasekhar for help after their child was molested in Bengaluru school. He spoke about how the then Karnataka Home Minister has retorted saying, “Who asked the mother to work? Who asked them to send their child to school?”

The Rajya Sabha MP further said that what Congress is trying to do in Karnataka ahead of the 2018 assembly election is similar to what the party did at the national level in the run-up to the 2014 general election. The party is trying to hide its failures and scams and instead is busy trying to scare people about BJP and Narendra Modi, he explained.

He though conceded that for 2018 Karnataka assembly election, Congress has the added advantage and tool of using the social media, where the party was not so strong during the 2014 general election. However, he said that all the bots or tools by likes of Cambridge Analytica won’t be able to save Congress from an impending defeat in the state.

Internal turmoil turns ugly in Congress after the first list of candidates is released for Karnataka elections

0

The Congress party has on Sunday released the list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections. According to reports, the party released a list of 218 candidates yesterday after many deliberations and missed deadlines.

The party has renominated 107 of the 122 sitting MLAs for the upcoming polls. According to reports, a full-blown revolt has broken out within the party ranks after the list was announced. Seats for many constituencies including Hangal, Mayakonda, Kittur, Tiptur, Kunigal, Kolar, Kollegal, Belur, Badami and Jagalur witnessed open discontent from party workers.

In the Kittur constituency, where there was already reported discontent between supporters of five-time MLA DB Inamdar and his relative Babasaheb Patil, there was further frictions and speculations as the party has not released the name of the candidate yet. According to reports, Inamdar had earlier announced that he would retire from politics and make way for Patil, but he went back on his word and Patil is reportedly favoured by the party High command.

Current MLA from Hangar and former Minister Manohar Tahasildhar’s supporters also staged a protest over their leader being denied a ticket and the Jagalur MLA HP Rajesh has come rushing to Bengaluru after his name too was omitted from the list. Senior leader P Ramesh, who had earlier contested and lost from CV Raman Nagar seat reportedly announced that he will be contesting on a JD(S) ticket. He also criticised Siddaramaiah as ‘Tughlaq’. Many party ticket hopefull have reportedly disliked the party giving tickets to former JD(S) people who have joined the party only recently. They have also called the CM a dictator.

CM Siddaramaiah’s earlier reported wish of contesting from both Chamundeshwari and Badami seats were also put to rest due to objections from senior party leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Veerappa Moily. Siddaramaiah will only contest from Chamundeshwari seat.

It appears as though many aspirants have decided to contest elections as independent candidates. The party high command is expected to send senior leaders to each of those constituencies to tackle them.

BJP leader DV Sadananda Gouda has stated that the Congress has a legacy to promote only family members of old candidates and they never promote new faces.

Hindus are more confused than ever before in modern India

0

Among all political parties, the only one that has the guts to call its ideology as ‘Hindutva’ is BJP. Almost all other parties in India are inclined towards secularism (read competition for minority votes). In spite of this fact, there are many core Hindutva voters who threaten to press NOTA whenever the party does something they don’t like.

Shiv Sena, which was seen as a far-right Hindutva political outfit is now shaking hands with Mamata Banerjee. LK Advani, who spearheaded the Ram temple movement ended up praising Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s ‘secular’ credentials.

All these facts point towards one paralysing symptom in India today. The symptom can be labelled as the confused state of Hindus under the onslaught of Lutyens media and leftist inspired interpretation of Indian history. The result of the paralysis is multifold.

  • Hindus don’t know the importance of Ramjanmabhoomi. Some want to build hospitals at the site. Many Hindus are unaware as to why Lord Shri Ram is hated vehemently in secular-liberal circles.
  • In spite of the onslaught of RTE on Hindu run educational institutions, some support the act claiming that it helps the poor.
  • The Supreme court of India which is always eager to regulate Hinduism uses the Quran as a reference to deliver a judgement on Haj subsidy.
  • The government controls Hindu temples and uses the donations of devotees for its expenditure. We Hindus don’t feel that is condemnable.
  • Media and government work overtime to erase crimes of minorities as it did in the Godhra case  (the reason for it could be score political points).

These are few indicators of the paralysing confusion of Hindus in India.

Sita Ram Goel’s assessment highlights that the situation is not reassuring for Hindus

Sita Ram Goel, one of the distinguished historians in his book ‘Heroic Hindu Resistance to Muslim Invaders‘ has addressed this phenomenon quite aptly. Goel dedicates the first half of his book documenting the staunch resistance offered by Hindu kingdoms to Islamic invaders until Muhammed Ghori finally manage to defeat Prithiviraj Chauhan in Battle of Tarain.

Goel claims that the Muslim invaders who were initially unable to defeat Hindu kingdoms through valour on battle managed victory through deceit. He says that the magnanimity and fair-play of Hindu warriors was no match to the barbaric and expansionist project of Islamic invaders.

In the penultimate chapter of the book ‘The lessons we have to learn’, Sita Ram Goel writes (emphasis added) :

  • The struggle between Islamic imperialism and Indian resistance, military as well as socio cultural, was long drawn out, lasting as it did over 570 years. The new contest is not likely to last that long due to the changed character of warfare. It is true that we battled against Islamic imperialism for another 550 years and defeated it in the final round in the middle of the 18th century. But it is true that the losses we suffered in terms of territory (Afghanistan, Seistan , Makran), population, social disintegration and spiritual corruption are simply staggering. By the middle of the 20th century, Islam succeeded in consolidating the gains it had made during more than a thousand years of aggression against India.
  • On the other hand, we have come out of the latest contest more confused than ever before, so much so that while a highly humanitarian national culture gets condemned as a a narrow and militant communalism, an ideology of totalitarian terror gets registered as a religion, a closed and theocratic state struts about as secularism, and a fanatic fraternity addicted to frequent rounds of violence passes of as a “poor and persecuted” minority. This situation is far from reassuring.

A repetition of Kashmir is imminent if Hindus remain dormant

Our courts are unable to evict illegal Rohingya migrants from Jammu and various parts of the country. Instead of that, they are demanding a report on their living conditions. Shouldn’t this infuriate a citizen of India?

We are now in a situation where the confusion of Hindus in the name of tolerance is the norm. We are now told that is a crime to desire a Hindu majority in our country. We must note that we live a globe where India is the only major country which can be associated with Hinduism.

  •  Estimates suggest that Hindu population of India will decline further by the time 2021 census is conducted. Still, the reality of Muslim population explosion fails to rattle Hindus. Raising the issue in public fora invites vehement criticism from the ‘intellectuals of India’.
  • Blatant minority appeasement passes of as secularism among the leading intellectuals of the country. Books like ‘Why I am Hindu‘ invoke idealism and claim that Hindutva ideology is intolerant and bad.

A dangerous future that lies ahead for Hindus if they don’t wake up to the horrible way in which our politics and legal system is working. We are unable to counter and protest against these acts because we are in a confused state of mind. We have tied up our hands in the name of secularism and tolerance which makes us incapable of protesting against minority appeasement.

Sita Ram Goel provides a recipe for self preservation in his final chapter of the book ‘The Nature of National Frontiers’

  • Hindu Society Should Seize The State : Hindu society has to make up its mind that it is no longer going to tolerate this degenrate politics which has been disintegrating Hindu society on one hand and consolidating the Muslim Millat on the other. Only a politics created by Hindu consciousness and guided by Hindu ideology can retrieve the sitution and the challenge of Islamic imperialism.
  • Hindu society has to see to it that the central state acquires a Hindu character and gets infused with Hindu consciousness, and that the central government functions as a Hindu government in a Hindu homeland.

If Hindus of the country do not unite in the political and social domain and elect a ‘secular’ party at a regional or national level, hopes for brighter future of India will diminish gradually. The paralysis of ‘secularism’ in its current format must be discarded and the addiction to minoritarinism and appeasement politics among political parties should be punished severely. Otherwise, we will have replicas of West Bengal, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir in more states of the country.

Lost in satire: Anand Ranganathan’s brilliant tweet triggers the usual suspect

It took one tweet from scientist and columnist Anand Ranganathan to make us chuckle on an otherwise boring Sunday. He posted a screenshot of a parody account Times How, which cited a fake quote by Congress IT cell head Divya Spandana that said Congress IT cell has taken it up with Twitter to take down all accounts posting Rahul Gandhi jokes, memes videos and even instructed Twitter not to allow any BJP related trends on Twitter. Since a lot of content posted on parody pages appears real, because India is a great country and Indians are very well capable of making bizarre claims, many people have mistaken the parody pages for real.

Anand Ranganathan quoted the said tweet which made it appear he had also fallen for the parody account, mistaking it for real news.

If you look at his tweet, he has left ample hints on what he is trying to convey. However, many people still fell for this, including abusive troll masquerading as a journalist, Swati Chaturvedi.

Founding Editor of leftist propaganda website, The Wire, too could not understand the satire.

Former editor of Business World even accused Ranganathan, who has called out the hypocrisy of so-called liberals many times, of being a lover of fake news.

Self-proclaimed ‘fact-checker’ and co-founder of leftist website AltNews, who runs a ‘parody’ page on Facebook Unofficial: Subramanian Swamy, and has earlier been caught spreading lies, too could not spot satire.

When the irony was pointed out, he deleted his tweet without any explanation.

Considering how believable the parody appeared and how satire is not everyone’s cup of tea, we don’t really blame them for this.

Ranganathan then explained the hidden meaning of his tweet in a subsequent tweet.

Even then, instead of accepting they fell for a joke, some ‘journalists’ were so hurt that they couldn’t get themselves to accept they got played.

With this, on a summery Monday morning, I offer jasmine flowers and a slice of Mysore Pak to Ranga Uncle.

AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, sink to a new low as they spread lies about rape of a girl in Gujarat

At a time when the nation is still coming to terms with the heinous Kathua rape case, another horrific rape case has emerged from Surat, Gujarat where a nine-year-old was raped and tortured for nine days before being murdered. While the case from Surat is still under investigations, unverified, fake news started making rounds of social networking sites, most of which claimed involvement of a BJP Gujarat leader.

Some of these unverified news were retweeted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as well.

His desperation to malign BJP/ABVP seems so intense that he does not even bother to check whether the news is fake or not. It was not just Arvind Kejriwal, but even other AAP leaders like Dilip Pandey and Alka Lamba, who is best known for her bizarre crying selfie on seeing the plight of Syrian kids, and delaying rescue operations during a fire, also retweeted the fake news, who spread this fake news.

Even Misa Bharti, daughter of fodder scam convict Lalu Yadav, who is also under the scanner for alleged scam, retweeted the fake tweet.

However, Surat Police, on social media, has refuted these claims, calling this involvement of BJP/ABVP leaders a fake news, since the case is still under investigation.

Following Surat Police’s tweet, Irfan Anjum deleted his tweet which had over 650 retweets, including one by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. However, the other person, Chandrashekhar Bhankrota has not yet deleted his tweet, despite being pointed out by others that this is fake. In his profile picture, Bhankrota can be seen with Congress’ IT cell head Divya Spandana.

However, after being pointed out Arvind Kejriwal has undone the retweet of the fake news he had retweeted. This is progress, considering the last time he set a lower bar of decency for himself by showing pictures of dead robber, claiming he is an innocent citizen. Under the guise of curiosity, Arvind Kejriwal has regularly spread fake news. Hence, the fact that this time he undid his retweet speaks volumes of his fear of being called out for his lies, especially in wake of vigilant Twitter users who have taken the role of fake news buster.

Meanwhile, Darshana Jardosh, Surat MP has taken note of the tweet and said she will take up the case with Surat Police authorities.

Update: Surat Police has booked three people for spreading fictitious and false messages on social media, including one Irfan Anjum, whose tweet Arvind Kejriwal had retweeted before Anjum deleted his tweet.

On Point with Nupur Sharma : Rajeev Chandrashekhar talks about the Kathua rape, Karnataka elections and more

We are ready with the third episode of ‘On Point with Nupur Sharma’ and this time we have another special guest in form of Rajya Sabha MP and Bangalore based entrepreneur Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Mr Chandrasekhar was earlier an independent MP but earlier this year he joined BJP and was re-elected to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka.

The interview was conducted by Nupur Sharma and Rahul Roushan.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DA99oSGIOo]

Mr Chandrasekhar talked about the rape and murder of the 8-year-old girl in Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir at length and expressed his utter dismay over the crime. With a belief that the perpetrators would be prosecuted soon, he also lamented that the entire episode has now become a political and ideological battle when all focus should have been on the safety of children.

The Rajya Sabha MP recounted his various attempts at getting favourable laws and systems in place that can protect our children better and reiterated that instead of fighting over a religious or political angle in the Kathua rape case, the focus should be on creating a safer future for our children everywhere.

He said that the union government or the parliament can do only so much and the bulk of the responsibilities lie with the respective state governments so far as the safety of children is concerned. He especially criticized the Karnataka government for being totally careless and clueless about the safety of children. He said he was amused that Rahul Gandhi was putting a midnight candle march but failing to direct his own government in Karnataka to take the relevant steps for child safety.

Mr Chandrasekhar also talked about the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections. He expressed confidence that BJP will do well because the situation in Karnataka for Congress is currently similar to what the situation the party had at centre in 2014. Though he conceded that Congress has now an added advantage of being loud and active on the social media – an aspect they were weak at in 2014.

The BJP leader also talked about how this new resurgence of Congress could be due to Cambridge Analytica and how the party’s recent divisive politics could also be aligned to the same. He castigated the Congress party for playing a dangerous game and implicated Rahul Gandhi into it, accusing him of leading the whole charade.

Hindu group expels AAP members for waving sword in front of mosque, accuses them of hatching conspiracy

0

In a shocking development Sanatan Hindu Yuva Vahini, the organisation which organised the Ram Navami rally in which AAP members are seen wearing saffron robes and waving swords in front of a mosque, has expelled the two AAP members alleging conspiracy. In termination letters accessed by OpIndia, Vishal Singh, District President of Sanatan Hindu Yuva Vahini, has accused Manish Kumar and Nand Lal Kanojia of trying to incite the people present.

Letter expelling AAP worker Nandlal Kanojia
Letter expelling AAP worker Manish Kumar

Speaking to OpIndia, Pushpendra Mishra of Sanatan Hindu Yuva Vahini said that when they investigated, it was found that the duo instigated the mob to shout slogans. He claimed that they had come with the swords which people are seen waving in the video. An investigation by ABP News has revealed that the two are indeed members of Aam Aadmi Party. Pushpendra Mishra has said that they had no intention of hurting sentiments of the Muslim community and have expressed regret at the incident.

AAP rebel leader Kapil Mishra said that insolation, the incident is not that significant, but when seen in bigger picture, it shows a different scenario. The rally was supposed to pass by that lane. But AAP councillor of that area arranged for refreshments just outside the mosque so that the group stops there, giving them a chance to carry out sloganeering. Mishra claims that AAP has shrugged off the incident and is trying to ignore their people’s involvement in the same. However, if that is so, why was the incident brought up by the Assembly speaker Ram Nivas Goel (as seen in the video) when AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan sought to bring a resolution regarding Ram Navami celebrations.

Mishra had alleged that this is a conspiracy to create communal tension between Hindus and Muslims in Delhi and to discredit Ram Navami festival. This is not the first time Aam Aadmi Party has tried to pay communal and divisive politics. Last year, during the run up to the Bawana bypolls, posters and pamphlets had come up in Delhi which showed an ‘appeal to Muslim brothers’ by Imran Hussain, who is a cabinet minister in the Kejriwal government. The poster appealed to Muslims to vote for AAP, as any division in the votes of the Muslim community could mean a result like that in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, which were swept by the BJP. The pamphlet also said that Muslims can’t be defeated if they voted together.
