150 firms in Gujarat's Morbi have joined hands to create local alternatives to products currently being outsourced from China.

Hailed as an alternative to Chinese TikTok, Chingari is available in multiple languages such as Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, etc.

The platform has also enabled a provision for indicating the percentage of local content in products in order to promote local goods.

To express the resentment towards China, many celebrities and also renowned education reformist Sonam Wangchuk called for a boycott of Chinese products.

A high-level meeting took place at the prime minister’s office to discuss ways to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat and cut import dependency on China.
