The India-Bangladesh Friendship pipeline was inaugurated in March 2023 by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. It runs from Siliguri in West Bengal to an oil depot in Parbatipur in district Dinajpur of Bangladesh.

During Operation Kaveri, Santosh Jain provided diesel for Indian Embassy vehicles and helped in rescuing 162 families.

Puri was talking to the media during a function to flag wave a CNG-driven boat race on the river Ganga here. This function was organized as a run-up to India Energy week which will take place next month in Bengaluru.

The Finance Minister clarified that the central government will bear the whole cost of the excise duty cut on fuel.

Excise duty on petrol will be reduced by rupees 8 per litre while that on diesel will be reduced by rupees 6 per litre.
