The Uttar Pradesh Police has also registered a case against Rajneesh Kumar under various sections, including rape.  The Hathras Police said that the accused has been booked under BNS sections 64 (2) (rape), 68 (sexual intercourse by a person in authority), and 75 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty).

After an intensive search through the night, accused Aman was apprehended on Sunday morning. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. 

11 individuals including those who were responsible for securing the event’s permits were charged by the SIT.

The police said that black magic was performed to bring success and fame to the school. The incident has led to the arrest of a total of five persons including the director of the school.

On Tuesday, July 2, a stampede at a private religious event in Hathras claimed 121 lives, leaving many others injured. The stampede took place during a Satsang for Sant Bhole Baba. Most of the dead in the tragedy are women.

On Friday, 5th July, the SIT formed to investigate the Hathras stampede delivered its initial report on the tragic incident, which killed at least 123 people
