Javed Akhtar had tweeted that he doesn't support hijab or burqa but he has 'nothing but deep contempt' for 'hooligans' who are intimidating the girls in Karnataka.
On Wednesday, Pakistan summoned India's Charge d'Affaires to its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and conveyed the government's "grave concern" over the ongoing Hijab protests by a section of Muslim students in Karnataka.
The Muslim students who are protesting against uniform regulations in the state and had begun the protest were in contact with radical Islamic outfit CFI.
