On the 18th of September, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused India of the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil.

The statement read, "We have seen and rejected the statement of the Canadian Prime Minister in their Parliament, as also the statement by their Foreign Minister. Allegations of the Government of India's involvement in any act of violence in Canada are absurd and motivated. 

Canada has announced that it would postpone an October trade mission to India, Al Jazeera reported.

During the G20 leaders summit, Justin Trudeau was snubbed by all major world leaders. Notably, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held several bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. 

While Prime Minister Modi met all heads of states with the G20 backdrop, the meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister did not have a G20 backdrop.

During a pull-aside meeting with Trudeau during G20 Summit, PM conveyed strong concerns over continuous anti-India activities by Khalistanis in Canada.

Ambassador Vivek Katju revealed that Canada refuses visas to members of armed forces who served in Kashmir.
