The eyewitness accounts of the violence revealed the violent mobs consisting of thousands of people with their faces covered went around on a rampage vandalising properties and torching vehicles while chanting Islamic slogans of “Allahu Akbar” and “Labaik-Ya-Rasool-Allah”.

The incident has again highlighted the problem of doctors preferring private practice to serving in government hospitals. But apparently, doctors are not entirely to be blamed. Poor infrastructure in government hospitals and unsatisfactory pay grades form part of the problem.
