The order was passed on Wednesday, 1st July, by Judicial Magistrate First Class Gaurav Katariya of Rohini Courts while hearing an application filed by a 28-year-old woman.
A homoeopathy student in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, was caught on CCTV punching an assistant professor after being caught cheating with a mobile phone. The student, identified as Shahbaz, has been barred from further exams while the college initiates an internal inquiry.
The professor is a PhD in Sanskrit and had served as Head of the Department of Sanskrit at Sanskrit College & University. She was accused by an assistant professor of the same university, who belongs to the SC community, of professional jealousy and harassment.
The court commented that she was a 30-year-old married woman as was the professor, and their private relationships could not fall under the jurisdiction of the University and its ICC.
