Sudarshan TV Editor-in-Chief Suresh Chavhanke on Thursday told the Supreme Court that the controversial show 'UPSC Jihad' is called so because it has come to his knowledge through sources that the funding for Zakat Foundation is done through organisations linked to terror activities.

Sudarshan TV, in its defence, had submitted that it is an investigative story and is important to national security as there is a lot of foreign funding involved.

The Zakat Foundation has found itself in a raging controversy recently after allegations have been made that Muslims receive undue advantages in their efforts to gain recruitment into the civil services

In the first episode of 'UPSC Jihad' on Sudarshan News, Suresh Chavhanke said that questioning the civil services was his right.
