FIR lodged by a sub-inspector in the Sambhal violence states that 40-50 people from the crowd instigated the rioters to kill the cops

The Uttar Pradesh government declared that the rioters would have to pay for the damage to property.

As per the complaint filed by the family of the victim, the accused hid his original identity from the girl and kept watch on her while on her way to school. He then trapped the girl in a 'love affair' and forced her to be with him.

Advanced security measures have also been put in place from Saraswati Ghat to Sangam Ghat, including deep barricading and extensive safety nets, which are nearing completion.

Sambhal DM Dr Rajendra Anjaneya said that weapons have been recovered during the police investigation. A knife has been found which can be used from both sides.
