Mohammed Kaif trolled by Muslim fundamentalists for celebrating Christmas with family

A professional cricketer generally faces a variety of challenges during his career like injuries, lack of form and unnecessary paparazzi. After retirement, a cricketer then faces fresh challenges like the “what next” question and transcendence into a non-playing lifestyle.

But when it comes to Muslim cricketers apart form facing all the above problems, they also face a challenge of avoiding getting trolled by Muslim fundamentalists.

We had reported in the past how Mohammed Shami was trolled on Facebook for posting a picture where, his wife was wearing a sleeveless gown. Such an innocuous picture was enough for religious fanatics to abuse Shami, demean his wife, and remind him the morality of Islam which he should have followed being a Muslim.

He became a victim once again, after he was declared a bad Muslim by Islamists for celebrating his daughter’s birthday. The Islamists’ bone of contention was that birthday celebration is not allowed in Islam, and they were also miffed that his wife wasn’t wearing a hijab.

Apart from this, cricketer Irfan Pathan was ‘informed’ by Muslim fundamentalists that celebrating Raksha Bandhan was against Islam, after he posted a picture of himself with a Rakhi on. Mohammad Kaif too was at the receiving end of similar trolling after he attacked for performing Surya Namaskar.

Kaif has now been second time unlucky after he has now been trolled for celebrating Christmas with his wife and kids.

Trouble began when Kaif shared a picture of this Christmas celebration on Facebook:

As seen above, Kaif is joyfully seen celebrating Christmas thereby partaking in the composite culture of India. This though annoyed some Muslim Fundamentalists who started expressing their disapproval in the comments section:

As seen above, one user questioned why Kaif was wearing a Santa cap and not a skull-cap and another told him that celebrating Christmas is not allowed in Islam.

One user also asked what will Kaif answer when he is asked about the Christmas celebration by Allah:

There were more comments, which included one claiming that Kaif has lost his religion:

As seen from the “Haha” reactions to all the posts, the fundamentalists were thoroughly mocked by other Facebook users for their bigotry.

Incidentally apart from Kaif, even Zaheer Khan celebrated Christmas but didn’t upload any photograph, which seems to have saved him from the fundamentalist onslaught.
