Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu to Sreenivasan Jain: Your agenda is sensationalism

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu, in an interview, has brilliantly countered NDTV’s Sreenivasan Jain for always working on ‘his agenda’.

The incident happened last week when Sreenivasan Jain was interviewing Chandrababu Naidu in an event organised by The Hindu. Chandrababu Naidu was highlighting his commitment to Andhra Pradesh’s development and overall growth.

Sreenivasan Jain began by asking him about the alleged injustice to Andhra Pradesh while creating a separate state of Telangana. To which Naidu replied that the bifurcation by the then Congress government has been done in the most unscientific manner and without following any set norms. He added that injustice has been done to Andhra Pradesh while creating Telangana.

However, Sreenivasan Jain moved to political motivations and manoeuvres. He asked Naidu whether the Telugu Desam Party is still the part of the NDA government in the centre. Chandrababu Naidu’s reply was swift. He replied that his party colleague Gajapati Raju is a minister in the central government and said that Jain should not have any doubts regarding his party’s association with NDA while Gajapati Raju is sitting there before him.

Naidu did not stop there. He went on to say that Jain will always have his own agenda. He added that he himself has his agenda too. But his agenda is agenda of the people while the agenda of Jain and journalists like him will always be media focus and sensationalism. Naidu added that in his forty years long political career he has been watching local, national and international journalists and it has always been the same.

Naidu’s brilliant answer made the audience break into applause and laughter.
