BJP leader Mohammad Anwar brutally stabbed to death in Karnataka’s Chikmagalur

BJP General Secretary for Chikmagalur unit, Mohammad Anwar was killed by bike-borne assailants last night. According to reports, 44-year-old Anwar was stabbed several times by unidentified persons around 9.30 PM last night. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.


According to reports, Anwar was attacked last night near the Gowri Kaluve area. The police have launched an investigation into the incident. None of the attackers has been identified so far. The police have reportedly stated that prima facie, the incident appears to be due to personal animosity.

BJP Karnataka General Secretary and Chikmagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje have stated that Anwar was killed by fundamentalists. She has added that Anwar has been receiving threats from local fundamentalist goons.


The state BJP has seen may workers killed over the recent months. Several RSS and BJP workers have been killed in the state. The killing of its workers was one of the main issues the BJP had alleged the ruling Congress party with before the Karnataka assembly elections.

In CPM ruled Kerala and TMC ruled West Bengal, several BJP workers have been killed in alleged politically motivated attacks.
