All India Bakchod, the comedy group, who have in the past pretended to be ‘feminists’ several times, have had a slew of allegations of sexual misconduct made against them in a wave of the #MeToo movement.
Earlier, we had reported how Utsav Chakraborty, a comedian who used to work with AIB was accused of sexual harassment. Thereafter, it was revealed that Tanmay Bhat, who is one of the founders of AIB knew about this harassment and didn’t do anything about. As time passed, allegations of misconduct surfaced against Tanmay Bhat and Gursimat Khamba too, the two founders of AIB.
Eventually, Tanmay Bhat and Khamba were asked to step away from the day to day running of AIB.
Now it turns out, that another AIB collaborator has been accused of grievous charges of sexual harassment and abuse. Babu Haabi was not only an AIB collaborator but was also close to Anurag Kashyap and sang in the movie Udtaa Punjab.
The woman who anonymously narrated her tale shared horror details about what Babu Haabi had allegedly done.
She says that she had started talking to Haabi and he seemed normal. Once they met, they ‘made out but whatever happened next did not have her consent”. The victim has alleged that Haabi forced her to perform oral sex and even wanted to have sex with her without a condom. When the victim refused, he allegedly called her a ‘prude’ and said she was ‘uncool’.
He then proceeded to tell an 11-year-old child to fetch condoms. He allegedly also forced her into doing several sexual acts despite the victim saying no. The victim has alleged that Haabi slapped her and called her names during intercourse and the victim had begged him to stop several times, to which, Haabi said that most women enjoy what he is doing. Even after this assault, he had allegedly continued to send lewd messages to the victim.

AIB is yet to disassociate themselves with Babu Haabi and have not released any statement on these revelations. We will update this article if and when they do.
