Imran Khan instigates Kashmiris to pick up arms against the state in his failed ‘solidarity rally’ in PoK’s Muzaffarabad

Since August 5, having faced embarrassment at a global level, his rhetoric over Kashmir has taken a spin. Imran Khan seems to have sensed India's no-nonsense approach to Kashmir and recent statements over PoK and that is why he wanted to hold a rally in Muzaffarabad, the capital city of PoK. However, his claims about the show of strength in the region fizzed out as his rally apparently turned out to be big flop show.

In yet another setback for Prime Minister of the parody nation Pakistan Imran Khan, his much ado about nothing rally in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) turned out to be a flop show. Much to his chagrin, Khan has been been let down by the very people he calls his own.

Khan seems to have lost his peace of mind ever since India stumped him unexpectedly over Kashmir on August 5, 2019. On the historic day, as Home Minister Amit Shah announced that Article 370 would be abrogated from the state of Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect, Khan and his ilk were left in a state of deep shock. None expected Prime Minister Narendra Modi to walk the talk on his Kashmir policy!

Kashmir has been earning Pakistani politicians and every other megalomaniac their bread and butter by using it unabated to further their agenda. Nonetheless, Khan has been in pursuit of garnering support from his people and global community to corner India over Kashmir only to be let down again and again. Even China, all weather friend that the parody nation banks on, has made a few flip flops on the issue.

Since August 5, having faced embarrassment at a global level, Khan’s rhetoric over Kashmir has taken a spin. He seems to have sensed India’s no-nonsense approach to Kashmir and Indian government’s recent statements over PoK. Perhaps that is why Khan was keen to hold a rally in Muzaffarabad, the capital city of PoK. However, his claims about the show of strength in the region fizzed out as his rally apparently turned out to be big flop show.

Amjad Ayub Mirza, Political Activist from PoK in conversation with news agency ANI has claimed that, “Imran Khan’s rally in Muzaffarabad (PoK) has been a flop show, people were loaded in trucks from Abbottabad & Rawalpindi for the rally. People in PoK have boycotted the rally completely. The world should congratulate people over it.”

In the past as well, Khan has made several futile efforts to misguide the world community over Kashmir however, each time his lies have been called out. His solidarity rally, in Muzzafarabad, was meant to be a show of how people of PoK strongly rally behind him. Alas! he was red faced yet again as the people of the region boycotted him and he was forced to bring in people from Abbottabad and Rawalpindi to fill the void.

No matter the place, he was quick to boast about his support to Kashmiris, who according to his whims, were brutalised by the Indian armed forces. He even proclaimed to represent the Kashmiris as their ‘ambassador before the world.’

“I will not disappoint Kashmiris before the United Nations General Assembly,” the Pakistani PM asserted. He is scheduled to address the global organisation at the end of this month.

He took pot shots at PM Modi by ranting about how the BJP-led government was furthering the RSS agenda of pushing India towards a Hindu state. In the midst of this, he mentioned the Pulwama attack, blaming the Indian suppression leading to this suicide attack.

He instigated Kashmiris to take up arms against India and said, ”The people of Kashmir will oppose India, take up arms against the BJP-RSS controlled regime there. PM Modi is testing the patience of innocent Kashmiris. We want peace. Tired of violent suppression by the Indian forces, a 20-year-old Kashmir youth had armed himself with bombs and attacked them in Pulwama…India blamed us for Pulwama attack and launched airstrikes in Balakot but we shot down their jet. We did not return their pilot (Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman) because we didn’t want a war. PM Modi told his countrymen that Pakistan succumbed to international pressure but he did not know that a true Pakistani is never afraid of death.”

Despite being called out each time, he continues to peddle his anti-India narrative to stay relevant in the political arena of his country. His country stands alone with most countries backing India on Article 370 as an ‘internal matter.’ These lies help him stay afloat, so never mind the lies, deceit and embarrassment!
