Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: Severed head and other parts of dead cow found in drain, situation tense as police investigates

Jai Bhagwan Sharma Pintu, the village head of Rampur also stated that the villagers have raised several complaints against illegal cow slaughter but police have not taken any action against it.

A tense situation occurred in Hapur district, Kotwali Zilla, Rampur road village of Uttar Pradesh on Friday after the villagers of Rampur found the severed dead body of a cow in the drains, reports Jansatta.

According to reports, the villagers found the severed head and other parts of the cow in the drain on Thursday evening. As news spread regarding the dead body being found in the drains, many villagers soon assembled at the spot leading to a tense situation.

The villagers also stated that there has been an increase in cow slaughter activities near the Rampur village and accused the police officers of being mute spectator despite villagers raising complaints against illegal cow smuggling.

Meanwhile, SP Yashvir Singh has said the incident of cow slaughtering is worrisome. Following the incident, an inquiry has been initiated against Chowki in charge Sarvan Gautam and a notice has been issued to Mahavir Singh Chauhan for their negligence.

SP Singh stated that the villagers have accused the police officers of being involved in the cow slaughtering mafia. He stated that a police team headed by Additional SP Sarvesh Kumar Mishra will be set up to investigate into the issue.
