Asaduddin Owaisi upset as court orders official survey of the disputed Shahi Idgah complex at Shri Krishna Janmasthan in Mathura

Two days after a Mathura court passed orders to conduct an official survey of the Shahi Idgah complex at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi expressed his discontent over the same. Owaisi slammed the court order saying that it violates the contentious Places of Worship Act.

News agency ANI quoted the Muslim leader as saying, “In my opinion, the order is wrong. The civil court has violated the 1991 Act. They have used the survey as a first resort, which legal experts believe should be the last resort. I disagree with the order.”

“I am sure Shahi Idgah trust will appeal against this wrong order and higher courts will look into it,” the AIMIM chief added.

Notably, when the judgement was issued on December 24, Owaisi, clearly rattled, questioned the Judiciary’s integrity and accused it of “emboldening Sangh Parivar’s mischiefs” by delivering verdicts such as the historic one on the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid conflict.

In a tweet, the AIMIM chief wrote, “After Babri Masjid judgement, I’d said that it’ll embolden Sangh Parivar’s mischiefs. Now, Mathura Court has also appointed a commissioner to examine evidence inside Shahi Idgah complex. This is despite Places of Worship Act prohibiting such litigation.”

“It’s also despite the masjid & adjacent temple having a written settlement resolving their dispute. Please don’t preach “give and take” when one side is interested in constantly targeting Muslims,” the AIMIM chief added.

Earlier on Saturday, 24 December 2022, a court in Mathura ordered an official survey of the Shahi Idgah complex at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The court has given this verdict following the appeal by the Hindu side.

The survey of the disputed structure will be conducted just like the survey of the Gyanvapi complex was conducted earlier this year. Here it would be interesting to recall how hours after the district court in Varanasi ruled that the suit in the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri case is maintainable and that the facts presented by the Hindu side are acceptable, Islamist organisations and Muslim leaders like AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had cried foul and resorted to fear-mongering about the verdict.

Asaduddin Owaisi draws parallels to the Babri Masjid case

Following the historic verdict, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi told NDTV, “I was hoping that the court will nip these issues in the bud. Now it appears that more such litigations will be coming and this is going the way the Babri Masjid legal issue went.”

He had then too made similar claims, asserting that the order by the Varanasi district court will ‘set off many things’. Owaisi further alleged that the objective behind the Places of Religious Act would fail and hoped that Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee would appeal against the order.

When Owaisi provoked Muslims against court-ordered proceedings 

In May too, Owaisi had called upon Muslims to not lose the disputed Gyanvapi mosque at any cost after a Shivling was found inside the wuzukhana at the disputed structure at Gyanvapi.

“When I was 19-21, the Babri Masjid was snatched away from me. But we will never lose a Masjid again in front of 19-20-year-olds. Do you take an oath that we will not lose any more mosques?” he asked a frenzied crowd.

Amidst chants of ‘Naara-e-Takbeer’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’, his supporters vowed to protect the disputed structure of the Gyanvapi mosque. “They must know that we will not lose any more of our mosques. We know all your tactics,” Owaisi remarked.

While dubbing the whole exercise of videography of Gyanvapi as the work of shaitan, the AIMIM leader remarked, “If we keep our mosques filled with worshippers, then, these Satanic forces who want to deprive us of our culture will understand that Indian Muslims are now not ready to lose their mosques.”

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on Sunday showered praises on senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that his speeches during “Bharat Jodo Yatra” are creating “tremors”.

Stalin further added that Gandhi talks sometimes like the country’s first Prime Minister, the late Jawaharlal Nehru .

The remarks came during the release of book on Nehru, ‘Mamanithar Nehru,’ written by senior state Congress leader A Gopanna, in Chennai.

“Rahul’s speeches are creating tremors in the country. He is not speaking electoral politics or party politics but politics of ideology. And that is why he is being strongly opposed by some persons. His talks sometimes are like Nehru. It will be surprising only if Nehru’s heir doesn’t talk like that. The descendants of Godse will only feel bitter by the talks by the heirs of Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru,” Stalin said.

Lavishing praises on the Gandhi scion, Stalin said that the Congress leader was not speaking electoral politics or party politics but politics of ideology.

Stalin’s comments came a day after Rahul Gandhi said, “dogs, cows, buffaloes, and pigs attended Bharat Jodo Yatra”.

Speaking at a public rally in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said, “I don’t know if you have noticed it or not, but in this campaign(BJY), dogs participated, but no one killed them. Cows, buffaloes, and pigs also joined in, I saw them. All animals came. This Yatra is like our India. There is no hatred or violence here.”

The speech instantly went viral on social media, leaving many netizens in splits over the claims made by the former Congress President. Several others conjectured that the Gandhi scion was using cryptic language to insinuate the participation of some people in the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Dramatic scenes were witnessed at the Aligarh Muslim University Campus on Sunday night after a scuffle broke out between two groups.

The AMU Centenary Gate was immediately closed after the fight by the Kashmiri students, police said. Two teams each from Proctor’s office and Police Administration immediately reached the spot and pacified the agitating students after assuring them of a meeting with the District Magistrate to solve their grievances.

Sartaj Hafeez, an AMU Student from Kashmir said, “The increasing number of attacks on students from Kashmir are ignored.No action is being taken. We are demanding that there should be an inquiry into the attacks that have taken place and strict action should be taken against the culprits. The culture of fighting should also end.”

Additional City Magistrate (II) Sudhir Kumar, who reached the spot with police personnel, said, “We have received information that there was some problem between Kashmiri students in AMU and Ghazipur’s group”.

Kumar further said the Centenary gate was closed by the Kashmiri students in connection with the fight, which was reopened shortly only after the arrival of a team from the university administration.

“These students have given a memorandum regarding their demands and have also sought time to meet the District Magistrate tomorrow. Tomorrow (December 27) a group of 5 Kashmiri students will hold talks with the District Magistrate”, Sudhir Kumar added.

Earlier on December 10, the disappearance of Masroor Abbas Mir, a Kashmiri class 10 student of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh Aligarh Muslim university City School at Aligarh created a stir on Campus.

Superintendent of Police (SP) City of Aligarh, Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, had then said, “Masroor Abbas Mir left home on December 8. His cousin brother registered a missing complaint”, adding, “Upon investigation, the information of cash withdrawal by the missing student from the Ramghat Road ATM has been confirmed.”

A Cooper hospital employee who claimed he was present during actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s postmortem said that actor Sushant Singh Rajput did not commit suicide but was murdered.

Speaking in an interview with TV9 Marathi, Rupkumar Shah, an employee at Cooper Hospital in Mumbai, dropped a bombshell when he said Sushant Singh Rajput’s death appeared like a murder.

“There is a massive difference between murder and suicide. After seeing the dead body, one immediately knows whether it is murder or suicide. Sushant had marks on his neck, it looked like murder. The body was punched and bore injury marks. A person who commits suicide is not punched to such an extent as Sushant was,” Shah said.

Raising aspersions on the claims that Rajput had committed suicide, Shah said, “Sushant was a great actor. He has acted in many films and if such a person commits suicide, we will handle his dead body properly. How can a person beaten on his hands and feet hang himself?”

On June 14 2020, the 34-year-old actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his apartment in Bandra in Mumbai. He had acted in a total of 12 films, with critically acclaimed performances in Kai Po Che, Kedarnath, and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. His untimely death was mourned by millions of his fans and supporters around the world.

Initially, it was reported that Rajput committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Bandra. However, many had questioned it alleging that there was more to his death than meets the eye and that he could well have been murdered.

A college student committed suicide by hanging inside the official bungalow of Congress MLA Omkar Singh Markam in Bhopal.

The Police have also recovered a suicide note from the spot. The student named Tirath Singh was studying at the MLA’s bungalow for the last four years. The incident took place in the Shyamala Hills area. 

Police said that prima facie evident point that the student committed suicide since he was suffering from cancer. The suicide note has been sent to the handwriting experts to match it with that of the deceased. Umesh Yadav, the SHO of Shyamala Hills Police Station said that they have started an investigation into all the aspects that could have led to the student’s death. 

“Information was received about a youth committing suicide at the official residence of Didori MLA Omkar Singh Markam, located in Professor Colony. A suicide note has also been found,” he said. 

The body has been sent for post-mortem. 

Police said that they spoke with a person who was staying with Tirath at the Government Bungalow, and learned that the deceased was suffering from Cancer and was also undergoing treatment in Bhopal. “It is clear from the suicide note and the family’s statement that he was suffering from cancer due to which he committed suicide.” 

“We are investigating all the aspects and will soon come to a conclusion soon and action will be taken accordingly,” he added.

In a major reveal by the main accused in TV actor Tunisha Sharma’s death case, her former boyfriend Sheezan Khan reportedly told police that he was “so disturbed by the atmosphere in the country that emerged after the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar” allegedly by her live-in partner, that Khan decided to end their relationship, sources said on Monday. 

During his first day in police custody, Sheezan told Waliv police that he ended the relationship with Tunisha after seeing repercussions emerging from the Shraddha Walkar case and told his former paramour that belonging to a different community stands in their way as did their age gap. During interrogation, Sheezan further revealed that Tunisha had earlier also attempted suicide after they broke up. “Tunisha had recently tried to commit suicide a few days before her death, but at that time I saved her and told Tunisha’s mother to take special care of her,” police sources quoted Sheezan as saying. 

Tunisha and Sheezan broke up a fortnight before she was found dead inside a toilet in a TV shoot set on December 24. 

On Sunday, a court in Vasai, Maharashtra, sent actor Sheezan Khan to police custody for four days in connection with Tunisha Sharma’s alleged suicide case. 

Waliv police produced Khan in the court after his arrest in the case for abetment to suicide. The case was registered against him under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code. 

Tunisha was found dead on the sets of a TV serial on December 24, according to Waliv Police. They received information that after a tea break, the actress went to the toilet and when she did not come back, the police broke the door open and found her hanging. 

No suicide note was recovered at the spot by police. 

The police have said the reason behind Tunisha’s alleged extreme step that ended her life could be her breakup with Sheezan over a fortnight back. 

The First Information Report, or FIR, of the case, revealed that the two actors were in a relationship, and had broken up 15 days ago. Tunisha Sharma was reportedly under stress, and it is suspected that’s what drove her to the edge, said the Mumbai police. 
The police have sent the mobile phones of both Tunisha and Sheezan to the forensic lab, so that the calls and chats between the two can be retrieved to understand what happened between the duo and what drove Tunisha to death after 15 days of breakup,” police sources said. 

According to the initial probe, Tunisha had left her house happily on Saturday morning to go to the serial set. 
After the first shift shoot was over, Sheejan Khan and Tunisha were in the make-up room, both of them went to lunch as usual, the police said. 

However, Tunisha did not have lunch on the day of her demise and after Sheejan finished lunch, both of them started their work, Sheezan went to shoot on the set and Tunisha went to the makeup room. 

When Tunisha Sharma did not come back after her tea break, then people started looking for her. 

The police are now probing the reason behind her alleged suicide. 

Notably, police have recorded statements from Tunisha’s mother Vanita Sharma, and her maternal uncle. 

“Family members are in shock after this incident. Tunisha used to live with her mother in the Indraprastha building on Meera Road. She used to bear all the expenses of the family, but now she is no more. Whoever is the accused should be punished,” Tunisha’s uncle said.

On December 25, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed that the Intelligence Bureau was questioning a number of people who interacted with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY). He further claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are ‘nervous’. Notably, he did not take their names directly but used G2, short for ‘Two Gujaratis’ for the two leaders, in his English tweet but clearly mentioned the names of PM and HM in a Hindi tweet.

In his tweet, he said, “IB has been interrogating a number of people who have interacted with Rahul Gandhi during Bharat Jodo Yatra. The spooks have been asking all sorts of questions and also wanting copies of memoranda submitted to him. There’s nothing secretive about the Yatra, but clearly, G2 are rattled!”

However, this is not the first time a political party in opposition has invoked ‘IB reports’ to hype up their popularity. Apparently, it seems ‘IB reports’ are the epitome of popularity which terrifies PM Modi and HM Shah.

Arvind Kejriwal invented IB reports on elections

Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal had invented a theory of Intelligence Bureau reports that AAP was forming government in Gujarat. On several occasions, he mentioned in a secret report by the IB it was mentioned that his party would win the Gujarat elections. During his press conference in Gujarat, he cited an ‘Intelligence Bureau’ report to make a claim. He further claimed that his party would win the elections by a small margin if the elections were held ‘today’. He urged the people of Gujarat to give a ‘big push’ so that AAP gets a ‘comfortable majority in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.

However, after AAP lost the elections in the state with over a hundred of its candidates losing deposits on their respective seats, AAP leader Naresh Balyan claimed Kejriwal never talked about reports by Intelligence Bureau. He was talking about reports from “Internal Broadcasting” that gives the assessment of the seats. Notably, there are videos available where Kejriwal is specifically saying Intelligence Bureau that can be checked here, here and here. The tweet by Balyan, despite being fake, was not removed.

Furthermore, Kejriwal played the IB card in 2017 as well during the Punjab elections. He shared an unverified report by a parody account that claimed Kejriwal’s party would get a thumping victory in the state.

OpIndia had reported in 2018 as well that Rahul Gandhi had started to ape Arvind Kejriwal in the political publicity antics and it is likely the ‘IB report’ is one such move making a comeback.

Rahul Jha, a 32-year-old unemployed man working on his 9th startup idea, has decided to launch his 10th startup – a national political party – after he successfully walked for 3 kilometers in Delhi cold wearing just an underwear.

Rahul undertook this walk, which he is calling ‘Desh Bachao Yatra’, at Majnu Ka Tila area in Delhi on the morning of the 26th of December, when the national capital recorded one of the coldest days of this season.

“I am not going to stop,” Rahul told this reporter as he announced that he will walk in his underwear again near Rajghat on 27th December and will continue walking non-stop with regular 23-hour stops till 26th January 2023.

Rahul has also demanded that he should be allowed to take part in the Republic Day parade only in his underwear. He said that all the weapons showcased during the Republic Day parade can’t frighten India’s enemies as much as a guy walking in his underwear in Delhi in January. However, his demand has been rejected by the Home Ministry as only states and government undertakings are allowed to take part in the parade.

“This clearly shows that Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are scared of me. I only wanted to scare India’s enemies but our own PM and HM got scared. Imagine, if I can scare them, then what will I do to Indian enemies,” Rahul reacted, and further announced his candidature for the 2024 Lok Sabha election as the Prime Ministerial candidate for his soon-to-be-launched political party PWP (Pyaar Wali Party).

Although critics are saying that Rahul Jha stole the idea from Rahul Gandhi, who has been winning praises for wearing just a t-shirt while everyone else in north India shivers in cold, Jha claims that his idea is novel and not inspired by his namesake’s adventures.

“Rahul Gandhi wore jeans and a t-shirt, how is it the same as underwear? We follow two different political ideologies, evident by the two different sets of clothes. I have an open door policy, that is why my body is open for everyone, I can’t comment on anyone else’s sartorial choices,” Rahul Jha said.

Further, Rahul said, “Throughout my journey in underwear, I didn’t see one sign of hate from anyone. Wherever I went, people started laughing, which shows that my yatra has spread joy everywhere. There were a couple of naughty kids who came up to me and started poking my belly but even they were giggling throughout.”

Since Rahul has decided to be the main challenger to Narendra Modi in 2024, he has determined that his next yatra will be in a fur coat in the Rann of Kutch during May and June. “It is important to challenge Modi on his home turf, so I will walk in a fur coat in Kutch this summer”, Rahul added before disappearing in the winter fog engulfing Delhi along with his underwear.

On December 25 (local time), a new report started making rounds on social media that the former Twitter Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Parag Agrawal got arrested in a child porn case. The report was published by the website vancouvertimes.org. The report suggested that Agrawal was arrested for possession of child pornography after Twitter’s new owner and CEO Elon Musk tipped off about it.

The report claimed that Agrawal was arrested from his home by the FBI, and he was expected to be released on bail. Furthermore, the report claimed that Agrawal not only collected the material from social media websites but decided not to take action against those who shared the same material on Twitter. They also added some relevant tweets to give the report touch of a real report.

The truth behind the ‘news website’

The report’s links and screenshots went viral on social media, but the reality is no arrest took place. Vancouver Times is a satire website; the report was nothing more than a dark joke. The website itself has added a disclaimer at the bottom of the report that reads, “Fact-checkers wasted their time “fact-checking” this obvious satire article. To ease confusion, the article has been added to the satire section, and a note has been added to the bottom of the article.”

Vancouver Times’ About Us page also mentions that it is a satire website. It reads, “Vancouver Times is the most trusted source for satire on the West Coast. We write satirical stories about issues that affect conservatives. Elon Musk’s war against child porn on Twitter

It was recently revealed that Twitter was allegedly consistently ignoring the rampant distribution of child pornography on its platform. It was only after Elon Musk took over the company that it seriously worked on stopping the content from being distributed. As per reports, major hashtags used for sharing such content, also known as ‘Child Sexual Exploitation’ content or ‘CSE’, have been removed from searches on Twitter. Furthermore, Twitter has added a specific option to report CSE content on the platform.

It is notable that since October 2020, Twitter has had a separate section for reporting CSE content on the platform. However, as per experts like Eliza Bleu, minimal effort was made by the platform until Musk took over the company. In October 2022, OpIndia detailed how, under ex-Twitter employee Vijaya Gadde, who was removed soon after Musk took over along with other top officials, Twitter had refused to take down child porn content even as the victim begged to remove it. Gadde was head of legal, policy, and trust at Twitter. Her role included handling issues such as harassment, misinformation, and harmful speech. Her failure to address repeated requests to take action against CSE content was heavily criticised by experts, victims and the public in general. Not only Gadde’s department, other teams, including human rights etc., failed to address the issue.
