Madhya Pradesh: CCTV footage from Mhow shows procession to celebrate Indian Champions Trophy win came under attack when they crossed the local mosque

In the Mhow area of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, violence erupted as locals celebrating India’s Champions Trophy victory against New Zealand came under attack as their procession passed Jama Masjid on the intervening night of 9th and 10th March 2025. As the procession crossed the mosque, a mob from the mosque started pelting stones at those celebrating India’s victory.

Now the CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced. In the video, it can be seen that a large number of Muslims gathered on the road with their faces covered with clothes. These mobsters had sticks in one hand while with the other hand, they were picking up stones and hitting the people involved in the celebratory rally.

During this time, 4-6 of the stone pelters reached the two-wheelers parked outside the market and started damaging the vehicles with sticks. Meanwhile, more rioters reached there and set the broken vehicles on fire. However, Islamists did not stop there and after vandalising a car parked nearby, they set it on fire as well.

According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, those celebrating the victory chanted Jai Shri Ram – resulting in the Muslims of the area in front of the Jama Masjid becoming irate and attacking the procession. The procession came under attack as it approached Jama Masjid.

Videos of the incident have indicated that slogans of Allahu Akbar and Naara-e-Taqbeer were raised before the Muslim mob started pelting stones at the procession. Reportedly, several shops and vehicles have also been torched during the violence. According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, stone pelting was also reported near a temple.

Meanwhile, the Imam of Jama Masjid has admitted that it was the Muslims who started the violence by attempting to lynch Hindus who were chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ during the Champions Trophy victory celebration.

The Imam also justified violence against Hindus in Mhow.  In the video, the Imam questions how this procession, celebrating India’s victory, was allowed to pass through “this” area and who gave permission for it. The Imam essentially justified the violence by furthering the usual “Muslim area” trope, insinuating that if a procession passes through Muslim-dominated areas, then the “clash” or unrest is justified.

As reported earlier, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG, Rural) Nimish Agarwal told the media that a preliminary investigation is going on into the incident.

“There was a clash between the two sides during the victory celebration of team India in ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The situation is completely under control right now. I would like to tell everyone that no one should try to take Law and Order into their own hands. The entire investigation will be completed, and all the people involved in it will be held responsible. Some people have been injured in this. Those are the four cases right now. Right now, a preliminary investigation is going on into this, and the entire incident will be investigated,” DIG, Rural Nimish Agarwal said.

‘Call your Ram to save you’: Muslim mob tried to burn down Sheetla Mata Temple in Mhow, taunted Hindus – Read what eyewitnesses said

On 9th March, an Islamist mob attempted to burn down Sheetla Mata Mandir during the violence that erupted following the Indian win in the Champions Trophy. As a group of cricket fans passed in front of a mosque in Mhow, Indore district, of Madhya Pradesh following India’s historic triumph, violence broke out.

According to eyewitnesses, the burn marks found outside the temple premises point towards a failed attempt to burn down the temple. The mob also pelted stones at the temple, which were shown to a Zee News reporter by the locals.

Attack on temple and surrounding houses

Speaking to Zee News, eyewitnesses said that after the police dispersed the mob from outside the mosque, it regrouped and moved towards the temple. The mob pelted stones at both the temple and nearby houses owned by Hindu families. One of the eyewitnesses, whose house was also targeted, said that the attack was recorded on CCTV. They further said that petrol bombs and stones were hurled at the temple premises, and police vehicles were destroyed along with private vehicles, including bikes and cars.

Violence erupted after Indian win in Champions Trophy

The violence reportedly began following celebrations after the Indian cricket team’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy. When a procession was passing through the lane where the mosque is located, some Muslims standing outside the mosque attacked the fans celebrating. The situation escalated quickly into a riot-like situation. Police forces were deployed to control the situation, but by then, extensive damage had been done.

Residents told Zee News that the mob specifically targeted Hindu families. The rioters shouted inflammatory slogans, including anti-India chants and provocations related to Hindu beliefs.

“They set our vehicles on fire and taunted us, saying, ‘Call your Ram, let’s see who saves you now,’” said a local resident. Houses and vehicles were severely damaged, with doors and windows shattered.

The locals added that even after the police controlled the situation, they were not able to sleep for the rest of the night.

Multiple arrests were made by the police on 10th March in connection with the violence.

Bangladesh: Hindu gold trader robbed, hacked to death in front of his wife

On Sunday (9th March) night, four unidentified men robbed a Hindu trader and hacked him to death while he was returning home with his wife. The incident occurred in the Nayarhat Bazar in Dhaka’s Ashulia area.

According to reports, the victim was identified as 47-year-old Dilip Das. He was rushed to the Enam Medical College Hospital in a critical condition. However, Dilip Das soon succumbed to his injuries.

The Hindu man ran a shop called ‘Dilip Shornoloy.’ The police analysed the CCTV footage and found that the victim was attacked by four men while he was closing his shop.

“As he turned around, he was hit again. Later, those men ran away from the spot with a bag belonging to Dilip. The footage shows smoke, probably because they hurled crude bombs while fleeing,” informed Ashulia Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Kamal Hossain.

The victim was hacked to death with a machete. It has also come to light that the accused men ran away with 25 bhori (~291 grams) of gold after attacking Dilip Das.

An investigation has been launched into the matter.

Hindu trader shot, robbed of gold and money in Hazaribagh

This is not the first time that such an incident has come to light. On 23rd January this year, a Hindu trader named Sajal Rajbangshi was ambushed and shot at by a mob of 7-8 people. The incident occurred in Hazaribagh in Dhaka district of Bangladesh.

The accused looted more than 800 g of gold and 4 lakh Taka from the victim. The 37-year-old Sajal Rajbanshi suffered serious injuries during the attack and was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

After initial treatment, he was transferred to another hospital. The victim’s brother Joy Rajbangshi informed, “When he (Sajal) reached the Beribadh Section area, a group of four to five helmeted men blocked his way and shot blanks.”

He further added, “They then shot him (Sajal) in the left leg, snatched his bag, and fled. We brought him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with injuries.”

Sajal ran his jewellery store at Ilham Plaza in Kamrangirchar. A case was registered on 24th January 2025.

‘Outrageous obscenity during Ramzan’: Islamists fume over fashion show in Gulmarg, CM Omar Abdullah promises action

A fashion show in the picturesque ski resort of Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir has infuriated Islamists. Furthermore, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the event, emphasizing that it should not have been conducted, particularly during the Islamic month of Ramzan. he also ordered an inquiry into the matter.

Infamous separatist voice and Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq took to X to express his opposition to the fashion show, which he referred to as outrageous and obscene in the month of Ramzan. He claimed that viral images and videos from the show have shocked and offended many Muslims. He added, “How could it be tolerated in the valley known for its Sufi, saint culture and the deeply religious outlook of its people,” and demanded action against those responsible for the same. “Such obscenity in the name of tourism promotion will not be tolerated in Kashmir,” he further threatened.

Notably, Omar Abdullah responded to the post and claimed, “The shock & anger are totally understandable. The images I have seen show a complete disregard for local sensitivities and that too during this holy month.” He reported that he had contacted the local authorities and ordered them to report in the next 24 hours. “Further action, as appropriate, will follow from this report,” he informed.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference’s (JKNC) Lok Sabha MP Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi called the show “cultural invasion in the disguise of tourism.” He even published the names of the organisers and remarked, “The images from Gulmarg are shocking. They show an utter disregard for Kashmiri sentiments. The Tourism department officials involved should be immediately taken to task, as well as the organisers Shivan & Narresh.”

The All J&K Shia Association also voiced its views and alleged that they were “stunned and hurt” by the sight of barely dressed models during Ramazan. “Seeing scantily clad folks parading in the snow feels like a slap to our faith. Tourism Dept, GDA (Gulmarg Development Authority) what’s the reasoning? Our shared moral, cultural, and religious values shouldn’t be trampled like this,” the group commented while reacting to a post by Raja Muzaffar Bhat.

Bhat described the show as an attempt to demolish Kashmir’s moral, religious and ethical principles. “Who allowed this nude fashion show at Gulmarg in Holy Ramzan? Semi-nude men and women walking on snow,” He also asked the authorities to “throw some light” on the development.

“We have ordered an inquiry. A private party, a 4-day event, and a fashion show were organized and some things in the fashion show have hurt the sentiments of society. What I have seen there, it should not have been conducted any time of the year or in Ramzan month,” Omar Abdullah stated. He made it clear that the event was organized by private parties, without any government engagement or authorization. “This was a private party and there was no government involvement, no permission was taken, and we will act tough if any law was broken,” he added.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Awami Ittehad Party MLA Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh called the fashion show a direct attack on the state’s culture. “During Ramzan time, organising such an event is shameful, this is a direct attack on our culture. We condemn this. We want CM to take the strictest action against this,” he demanded. “It should not have happened. J&K is a place of Sufi saints, even in normal circumstances, semi-nude shows should not take place in J&K, this is not acceptable. Omar Abdullah (CM) has taken cognisance of the incident and sought a report. He has assured action,” JKNC MLA Tanvir Sadiq stated.

However, the Bharatiya Janata Party slammed the reactions coming from the valley. “PM Modi, Amit Shah and the central government want normalcy to return to J&K after 5th August 2019, a peaceful atmosphere has come in Kashmir. People across the world and country want to visit Kashmir. But, some people don’t want peace and normalcy in Kashmir. So it’s some people’s old habit, they create issues for no reason and try to spoil the atmosphere in J&K,” party MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia declared.

On 7th March, the designer team Shivan & Narresh celebrated their 15 years in business by holding a fashion show in Gulmarg. Models were seen descending the snow-covered ramp at the Elle India fashion show, in a video that soon went viral and triggered extremists. The pair’s skiwear line, which included art prints from the brand’s archives was showcased throughout the event. The collection featured winter layers for both men and women, sculptural ski suits, bold ski separates and uid après-ski outfits.

“Designer duo Shivan and Narresh took audacious fashion to newer heights (quite literally) by staging a show in the frozen alleys of Gulmarg, Kashmir today. Celebrating their 15th anniversary, the famed maximalists brought out their classics – the bikinis and capes obviously, but also added some winter magic doused in eclectic prints and 3D ornamentation,” Elle India highlighted in a now-deleted Instagram post.

Mhow: Jama Masjid Imam admits that Muslims started violence, tried to lynch Hindus chanting Jai Shri Ram, propagandists lie to blame Hindus instead

In Mhow area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, violence erupted as locals celebrating India’s cricket victory against New Zealand came under attack as their procession passed Jama Masjid. According to reports, as the procession crossed the masjid, a mob from the Masjid started pelting stones at those celebrating India’s victory.

According to Dainik Bhaskar, those celebrating the victory chanted Jai Shri Ram – resulting in the Muslims of the area in front of Jama Masjid becoming irate and attacking the procession. According to a PTI report, the procession came under attack as it approached Jama Masjid.

Videos of the incident that emerged have indicated that slogans of Allahu Akbar and Naara-e-Taqbeer were raised before the Muslim mob started pelting stones.

Reportedly, several shops and vehicles have also been torched. According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, stone pelting was also reported near a temple.

As soon as news of the violence surfaced, propagandists like Mohammad Zubair and several other Islamists started working overtime to blame Hindus for violence initiated by the Muslims. As we reported earlier, first Mohammad Zubair attempted to exonerate the Muslims rioters by claiming that firecrackers outside the Jama Masjid and chants of Jai Shri Ram “provoked” the Muslims to initiate violence.

In a follow up tweet, Mohammad Zubair has now gone on to claim that violence erupted because the Hindus celebrating India’s cricket victory had thrown firecrackers INSIDE the Jama Masjid. Irked by this, the Muslims “retaliated”.

However, both these lies have been busted.

Imam of Jama Masjid, Mhow, admits that it was the Muslims who started the violence

While Mohammad Zubair and other propagandists are attempting to shield the Muslim rioters and blame Hindus for the Mhow violence, the Imam of Jama Masjid has admitted that it was the Muslims who started the violence by attempting to lynch Hindus who were chanting Jai Shri Ram during the cricket victory celebration.

In an interview given to News18, the Imam admits that the first sign of violence was the Muslims from Jama Masjid catching hold of Hindus who were chanting Jai Shri Ram and attempting to lynch them.

In the video, the Imam still attempts to shield the Muslim rioters, however, his interview starts with him admitting that the Hindus were chanting Jai Shri Ram. The Muslims became angry with Hindus expressing their religious identity, came out of the mosque and then tried to lynch them. While admitting that there was an attempt to lynch Hindus, he claims that he is the one who saved the Hindus along with the police, but he did, nevertheless, admit that there was an attempt to lynch Hindus by Muslims because they chanted Jai Shri Ram.

Were firecrackers thrown inside the mosque in Mhow, as claimed by Mohammad Zubair and others?

The other lie being propagated by the Islamists is that the Hindus threw firecrackers INSIDE the Jama Masjid – an act views as one of aggression by the Hindus.

However, the police statement refutes this claim.

The police has categorically claimed that the Hindus were celebrating India cricket victory by bursting firecrackers. When the procession passed the mosque, the firecrackers were also being lit.

Even propagandists like Mohammad Zubair tried to shield Muslim rioters and attempted to insinuate that Hindus were at fault by propagating the statement of the Imam of Jama Masjid.

While Zubair added the statement of the police as well, the addition of the statement of the Imam was a clear attempt at muddying the water.

Further, it is also pertinent to note that neither Mohammad Zubair nor any other Islamist has shared the statement of the Imam where he admits that the Muslims tried to lynch Hindus chanting Jai Shri Ram during the victory procession.

When one tries to decipher what the “provocation” was, one realises that the Hindus who were celebrating India’s victory were merely chanting Jai Shri Ram – an expression of their own faith – and bursting firecracker – a common method of celebration.

The ‘trigger-hungry’ Muslims of Mhow were evidently looking for excuses to create chaos. We have seen time and again that Muslims in India (in particular) use ‘provocation’ as a pretext to exercise their street veto.

For them, provocation may range from taking out a Hindu procession through areas where Muslims constitute a majority or Hindus celebrating their festivals in full public glare with the permission of the local authorities.

This time, the excuse of ‘provocation’ presented itself in the form of celebrations of India’s victory in the Champions Trophy during the month of Ramzan.

Delhi: Man shot dead by Tariq, Naseem and three others, protesters allege jihadist conspiracy, police denies communal angle

People from Ghazipur protested and blocked the Akshardham-Ghaziabad road on Monday (10th March), demanding the arrest of the accused for the murder of a Hindu youth. In the Ghazipur area of Delhi, a man named Rohit Chavda was shot dead late Sunday night by two Muslim men identified as Tariq, Naseem, Yamin, Kapil and one other. The police have arrested accused Tariq and Naseem while the search is ongoing for the three absconding accused.

After the murder, residents gathered in large numbers and blocked NH-24 to demand justice for the slain youth. On Monday, the highway remained jammed for hours, severely impacting traffic movement.

According to the police, the Ghazipur resident was shot dead late Sunday night in the Ghazipur area of Delhi. The police received information from the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital about a medico-legal case wherein a man suffered a gunshot wound and was declared dead on arrival.

The police have registered a case under the Arms Act and murder. On the case, Vineet Kumar, Additional DCP-I, East District said, “We received information that a man is injured. When we went to the hospital, we found that he had been shot. In the initial investigation, 2 people have been detained and several teams are working on it.”

While the incident has fuelled communal tensions in the area, the police have so far denied any communal angle in the case. The police have also said that Rohit Chavda was murdered over some monetary dispute with the accused persons.

However, the protestors have alleged that the 32-year-old Hindu man was shot dead by “jihadists” who were dominating the area, collecting money, and running illegal businesses. The protestors alleged that the deceased victim had dared to speak up against the alleged illegal activities of the accused Muslim men.

Speaking to ANI, one of the protesters, Virender Singh said, “We have a Hindu brother here in Ghazipur village. He was shot at night by jihadists. He was from the Gujar community. It happened around 2 AM. The problem was that these people were dominating the area, collecting money, and running illegal businesses. This brother [Rohit Chavda] spoke out against them and said this kind of domination wouldn’t be allowed. Because of that, he was shot twice and died on the spot. His name was Rohit. He was from Ghazipur, and his father was not around. He lived with his maternal uncle. He had three brothers, and he was the oldest.”

Another protester, Chaudhary Karam Singh Rawat, said, “This is about the Delhi Police and the administration. If they wanted, they could have arrested the person who killed our child by now. We are suffering because of this. Muslims from Rohingya have settled here with money. If they wanted, the police could have arrested them by now. If we don’t get justice, there will be violence and bloodshed. The road will be blocked until we get justice.”

Meanwhile, reports say that the deceased victim who worked as a supervisor at the Ghazipur landfill site was receiving threats for the past few days. Rohit Chavda’s family is also reported to have said that the deceased victim was receiving threats in the days leading up to the murder.

Despite having a 3-storey mosque, Namaz performed on a public road every Friday: Hindu traders in Sanand demand action, divulge that most of the attendees are outsiders

In Sanand, Ahmedabad, there have been frequent complaints that Namaz is offered on the road every Friday, instead of in the Mosque, and that locals, especially traders, are suffering due to this. In this regard, on Saturday (March 8), Hindu leaders sent a petition to the local administration and police department, requesting them to take immediate action in this matter.

The petition stated that there is a Mosque near Tapal Chowk in Sanand, and outside that, public Namaz is offered by closing the main road every Friday, due to which traders, pedestrians, and the general public have to face difficulties.

It has further been stated that although the Mosque has three floors and has enough space, with the intention of harassing the public, Namaz is offered by blocking the road outside the Mosque, due to which local traders have to suffer huge financial losses. It has also been questioned whether any permission has been given by the administration to offer Namaz in public despite the fact that there is a three-storey mosque there. The petition further asked that if that is the case, the administration should clarify and if not, immediate action should be taken in this regard.

Hindu leaders and traders have said that if the illegal activities are not stopped or no action is taken after considering this representation, then an agitation will be launched in the near future against the responsible authorites.

A copy of this petition has also been sent to the Sanand Police Inspector, Ahmedabad Collector, and Sanand Municipal President A copy of the petition is also available with OpIndia.

Most of those offering Namaz in the area are outsiders, raises security concerns

Former Anand city Bharatiya Janata Party president Kamlesh Vyas, who submitted the petition, told OpIndia that for the past few months, at least 2-3 months, Namaz has been offered on public roads, and every Friday, the road is closed for one or two hours in the afternoon. Due to which, the locals and traders are facing a lot of difficulty.

He said that since the month of Ramzan has started, the crowd is continuously increasing and most of them are migrant Muslims. He said that the question is why Namaz is offered in public despite the existence of a three-storey mosque.

Kamlesh Vyas further said that he has informed the local administration to take legal action. He added that he has no objection to anyone’s opinion, religion or their practice, but offering Namaz in a way that causes trouble to others by closing the road in public is inappropriate and action should be taken against it.

Mhow violence: Propagandists, including Sharjeel Imam’s co-conspirator and Mohammad Zubair blame Hindus for violence by Muslims – Here is the truth

In Mhow area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a communal clash erupted as locals celebrating India’s cricket victory against New Zealand came under attack as their procession passed Jama Masjid.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG, Rural) Nimish Agarwal told media that a preliminary investigation is going on into the incident.

“There was a clash between the two sides during the victory celebration of team India in ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The situation is completely under control right now. As soon as news emerged of locals celebrating India’s victory coming under attack when they passed a mosque, the usual Islamists and propagandists started to spread fake news to target Hindus.

Asif Mujtaba, the co-conspirator of Sharjeel Imam, one of the Islamists who orchestrated the onslaught against Hindus during Delhi anti-Hindu riots of 2020 took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim that even “celebration was a tool to demean Muslims” because according to him, Hindus resorted to “communal sloganeering” outside a mosque.

Another handle, ‘Hate Detectors’ which regularly spews venom against Hindus and blames Hindus for the violence committed by Islamists claimed that the clash erupted because Hindus raised “detogatory slogans” and burst firecrackers, disrupting prayers of Muslims inside the Jama Masjid.

Another Islamist claimed that this was a “well planned” conspiracy to “provoke Muslims” since “objectionable slogans” were raised “outside the mosque”.

According to Islamists and propagandists, “where it all began” was a point where Hindus could be seen raising a flag of Lord Hanuman and chanting Jai Shri Ram to celebrate India’s victory.

AltNews’ Mohammad Zubair also indulged in spreading propaganda and blaming Hindus by re-posting a tweet

The post shared by Mohammad Zubair claimed that firecrackers “sparked retaliation” – which essentially means that Hindus were merely bursting crackers to celebrate India’s victory and raising their own slogans, when Muslims got “offended” and started pelting stones, committing violence and torching vehicles. This unbridled violence was branded “retaliation” by Mohammad Zubair, in an attempt to shield the Muslim rioters and Islamists.

Justifying violence with lies about mythical “provocation”

Even from the posts of Islamists, it is evident that the violence itself was started by the Muslims. In none of the posts do even the propagandists claim that the violence was initiated by the Hindus. The narrative by propagandists, including by Mohammad Zubair, Asif Mujtaba and their likes, is that Hindus “provoked” the Muslims to “retaliate”.

The large groups of Hindus, who had taken to the streets of Mhow in jubilation, were clearly unaware that the local Muslim community would use that as an opportunity to unleash violence and attack Hindu places of worship.

The extremists who participated in this targeted attack on Hindus were somehow convinced that keyboard warriors, dubious ‘journalists’ and ‘fact checkers’ with dwindling credibility would go to any extent to justify their actions.

For the Hindu community, raising slogans of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ is undermined as an act of provocation, whereas the real-life acts of violence unleashed by the Muslims is shrewdly rationalised as ‘counter reaction.’

The latest Islamic onslaught is Madhya Pradesh’s Mhow is a great example.
