Tej Pratap Yadav resigns from the post of Convener of the Student Wing of the RJD

Fodder scam convict and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav announced today that he will be resigning from the post of Convener of the Student Wing of Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD).

Tej Pratap made the announcement of quitting the Chhatra Rashtriya Janata Dal on his Twitter handle. Yadav also made certain comments in his tweet which left people wondering what is cooking up in the Yadav family. He tweeted, “Those who think I am naive are naive themselves. I know who holds how much water.” He did not name anyone in his tweet which has left people speculating as to who he was referring to.

Tej Pratap keeps making headlines owing to his unusual ways. Recently he was in the news after he filed for divorce from his wife alleging that he was forced to marry her for political benefit of others. He is also known for his hobby of dressing up as different Gods. He was seen dressed up Lord Shiva during Kanwar Yatra last year and had performed pooja in Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deodhar. Yadav had also once dressed up as Lord Krishna to celebrate New Year.

TDP MLA and Chandrababu Naidu’s brother in law assaults journalist in public view, apologies after video goes viral

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s brother in law and actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, who known for his high-headedness, is once again in the news for assaulting and threatening a journalist from Mojo TV.

The incident took place on Wednesday when the Hindupur MLA from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), was campaigning in his constituency.

In a video which has been widely circulating on social media, the MLA is seen slapping and giving life threats to the journalist who was filming his campaign. He threw abuses at the media person mercilessly.

The video clearly shows Balakrishna threatening the journalist that he would slit him. (nariki pogulu peduta)

The MLA who was campaigning in Hindupur was being garlanded by TDP cadres when several children tried to make their way close to the actor-politician, only to be pushed away by people who appear to be the MLA’s personal security personnel. Balakrishna, who saw the journalist filming the entire incident got irked with him and asked the journalist to delete the video immediately.

This followed with Balakrishna threatening and hurling indecent abuses at the journalist. He is heard saying, “Delete it. Delete it,” before he slaps the reporter, even as the latter insists that he did not film anything.

Even as security personnel intimidated the reporter, Balakrishna can be seen saying, “I know how to wield a knife. I even know how to hurl bombs. I will take your life.”

Hours after the incident took place and the video went viral on social media, Balakrishna issued an apology on Facebook for attacking the journalist.

Nandamuri Balakrishna took to Facebook to say, “It was a mistake on my part to assume that people who are taking videos of kids are miscreants. I felt they are misbehaving with the kids. I have no idea they are from the media. I apologize to all media persons who are troubled by my behaviour”.

However, this is not the first time Balakrishna has resorted to such offensive behaviour in public. Actor-politician Balakrishna is infamous for slapping people trying to take selfies with him. In 2004, he was accused of shooting at producer Bellamkonda Suresh in self-defence.

I would have responded to the Pulwama attack within 40 seconds, says Azam Khan

Senior Samajwadi Party, leader and Lok Sabha candidate from Rampur Uttar Pradesh, Azam Khan said that the government’s response to the Pulwama terror attack was delayed. He claimed that had he been the Prime Minister, he would have responded faster.

“I believe that our government delayed the response to the Pulwama attack. Had I been the prime minister, I would not have taken more than 40 seconds to respond”, Khan told Hindustan Times in an interview.

Khan also said that without questioning the government over attacks in Pakistan, he wanted to know why no funerals were held for the persons killed in the Indian air strikes. On the question whether he would invite Mulayam Singh Yadav to campaign for him, Khan said that he did not with Netaji’s wish for Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister again. “I don’t have any differences with him, but I am against his wish for Narendra Modi to become PM”, he said.

The BJP has fielded former SP member Jaya Prada who recently joined the party from Rampur Lok Sabha constituency against the SP stalwart Azam Khan. Jaya Prada had accused Khan of harassing her and attempting an acid attack on her.

Recently Azam Khan’s close aide and SP Sambhal District President Firoz Khan made some indecent remarks against Jaya Prada. He said that the residents of Rampur will now stay entertained and their evenings will be colourful as Jaya Prada would be visiting the district for the campaign.

Khan is also known for making controversial statements. Last year, sedition charges were filed against the SP leader for making anti-Army remarks. Khan had made remarks that suggested that Indian Army indulged in rapes.  “Armed women attacked soldiers and cut off their private parts. They cut the part they had problems with. India should be ashamed. How will the country face the world now?”, Khan had remarked.

Khan being a senior party leader has his own tantrums. In 2014, Azam Khan’s buffaloes had gone missing from his farmhouse in Rampur and within minutes of the alleged theft of buffaloes an entire team of police, led by the then DSP Sadhna Goswami went out hunting for the missing buffaloes.

Congress has been making the same promises for decades but has not done anything to keep them: PM Modi in Uttarakhand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a huge ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Prime Minister began his speech thanking the people of Uttarakhand saying that the land of Uttarakhand is the land of brave hearts and mentioned that the ‘Chowkidars’ of this land have come out in such large numbers to bless one ‘Chowkidar’.

Addressing a rally in Rudrapur, PM Modi asked the people that whether was it right to question the credibility of our soldiers after surgical strikes. “When we entered the homes of the terrorists and killed them then is it right to question valour of our jawans? Is it right to abuse our Army Chief? Will people forgive those who give anti-national statements just to become a hero in Pakistan?,” PM Modi targetted Congress after some of its leaders sought proof for Balakot strikes.

Targetting Congress and other Congress supporters in the media for questioning him over over-emphasis on Balakot strikes during his speeches, PM Modi said, “Congress said that Modi should not talk about air strikes and Modi should not raise the issue of the country’s security. So should Modi sit quietly? Should Modi be scared of terror threats?”

Prime Minister slammed the Congress party for repeating the same old ‘Garibi Hatao’ slogans for the last four decades and said that the family has been repeating the same slogans for last few decades but has not done anything to reduce the poverty. “Defeat Congress, poverty will vanish on its own,” said PM Modi at Uttarakhand rally.

Taking a dig at Congress Party and Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, PM Modi said that instead of performing his duties as a CM, the one job he did was to mark his attendance at Delhi Durbar. “A Former Uttarakhand CM who is also a candidate from here this time had only one job, to mark attendance in Delhi Durbar. He did not care about unemployment or other issues faced by the youth in the state which forced people to migrate outside the state,” said PM Modi.

With the mention of the ‘Char Dhams’ of Hindu faith that exist in the state of Uttarakhand, PM Modi also named a fifth Dham in the land as ‘Sainik Dham’ referring to the defence institutes and regiments that originate from the state and also added that the land of Uttarakhand has given the maximum soldiers in proportion to its population.

PM Modi added that it was the BJP which turned Uttarakhand into an industrial hub after all the damage that the Congress had done in the past years. Do they really deserve to be voted to power again, asked PM Modi. “Who did all those scams? Who brought the destruction? Should Congress, which has been unjust to the people of Uttarakhand, get another chance? Shouldn’t they be punished?” asked PM Modi.

Referring to the defence scams that occurred in the Congress era, PM Modi said that Congress did not have the intent to buy ammunition, fighter jets, bulletproof jackets for the need of the forces. He said that it was Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government which started buying Rafale, but the Congress held it for 10 years as it was expecting commission in the defence deals. He alleged that the Congress sat on the deal for the Rafale fighter jet as it was eyeing the “malai” (commission, kickbacks) from it.

“Today, the army is getting modern artillery in the country, getting modern weaponry, bullet-proof jackets. The army was demanding from the Congress government, but they were not concerned because the focus was not on safety,” said PM Modi.

PM Modi also targetted the previous Congress governments over AgustaWestland chopper scam case and Bofors scandal and said that the Congress always ignored the demands of security forces. He said the BJP government brought OROP scheme and gave Rs 35,000 crore in pension to jawans.

At the Rudrapur rally in Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said if Congress wanted, Kartarpur would have been in India and not Pakistan.

The state of Uttarakhand has five Lok Sabha seats and all the five seats are scheduled to go for polls in the first phase April 11. The BJP had won all the five seats from the Uttarakhand during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

JNU students call off hunger strike against introduction of MBA course in the University, to continue protests

0

Students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University who had launched an indefinite hunger strike against the proposal to induct MBA Course in the university have reportedly called off their hunger strike. They, however, said that they will continue their protests.

The announcement was made during the National Convention of Universities organised by the JNU Teachers’ Association (JNUTA) on the campus “to point out the scandalous and destructive policies being pushed by the Central Government to destroy all public institutions”.

The course’s ‘high fee structure’ appears to be the main bone of contention. “We have been sitting on hunger strike; this is the eighth day of our strike against many issues but primarily against the management course which will be inducted from this academic session,” Sarika Chaudhary, Vice president Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) said. “The course has the highest ever fee structure that is Rs 12 lakh which is higher than any private college. How many can afford this fee for the course?” she added.

JNU Vice-Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar told ANI, “A discussion cannot happen when 500 people are standing and shouting at you. It happens in a peaceful atmosphere. Right from the beginning, they are against opening the management school in the campus. If the fee is so high then why are students applying for course from all over the country? We have just 50 seats but a large number of people who have qualified CAT exam have applied for our program.”

On the fee structure, Kumar said, “The fee structure is the same as anywhere in India whether it is IIMs or IITs. We are not charging anything abnormally. The course will be inducted from coming academic session starting from July. We have already started the engineering course and the selection process is through JEE.”

Aeijaz Ahmed, another protesting student, said, “We have been sitting here for indefinite hunger strike but neither the vice-chancellor nor anyone from JNU administration came to meet us. Instead the VC accused us of barging into his house and threatening his wife. Nothing of that sort happened. We were doing a protest which is within the ambit of our constitutional rights.”

Only days earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of JNU had alleged that the protesting students had broken into his home where his wife was alone and terrified. Later, he claimed to have forgiven them.

Do you think JNU should introduce MBA program? Or PhD in Dharna studies? Got a better degree idea for JNU to introduce that marxists would love to hate? Tell us in comments below.

Khuda ki kasam, will put Modi in jail: National Conference leader Javed Rana claims

National Conference leader Javed Ahmed Rana has claimed that he will put PM Modi behind bars while speaking at a meeting in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. Rana said if it was up to him, he would put PM Modi in jail for all the murders that have been committed in Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country.

Rana called PM Modi a murderer of humanity and accused him of creating disharmony between Hindus and Muslims. “‘Ye katil hain. Mai ye kehta hun bar bar kehta hun. Ye insaniyat ke katil hain. Inhone Hindu-Muslim parampara ko khatam kiya hai”, alleged Rana.

National Conference leaders Omar Abdullah and his father Farooq Abdullah have so far been silent on these remarks. As per reports, Javed Rana’s rant is being seen as a reflection of fear among the political opponents as PM Modi is soon going to address a rally in Akhnoor.

Along with PM Modi, Rana also blamed the media for spreading hate in the country for a “particular community”. “Allah ki kasam kha ke kehta hun mujhe power mile taaqat mile. Main desh ke Pradhan Mantri ko andhar thokun aur uske sath ye jo media hai jo nafrate faila rhi hai is desh mein, ek particular community ke khilaf nafrat failati hai yahan baith ke Delhi me, main un sab ko andar thokun”, said Rana.

He said that if he comes to power he will show what leadership means. “Kaash Allahtala vo waqt laye aur main dikhaun ke kya hoti hai leadership”, he added.

This is not the first time that Rana is using such crass language for PM Modi, he had earlier called a terrorist and held him responsible for killing lakhs of people in Gujarat. He had even threatened that he would not allow the tricolour to be hosted in the State if Article 370 was abolished by the Central government.

Rana has always been a loud mouth in NC and is often in the news for his separatist and sometimes outlandish statements. Last year he had claimed that stone pelters in Kashmir are the creation of the government and the RSS.

National Conference will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections in an alliance with Congress party.

Dehradun: 12-year-old student brutally killed by seniors, Missionary school buries him without informing parents to ‘hush up’ murder

A Missionary boarding school, Children Home Academy, situated in Ranipokhri district near Rishikesh, Dehradun has come under scanner for allegedly trying to ‘hush up’ a gruesome crime that took place on its premises on March 10.

The school authorities have been found guilty of covering up the brutal hacking of Vasu Yadav, a 12-year-old boarding school student, by hurriedly burying the boy’s body on the campus after he was beaten to death with cricket bats and wickets by his seniors.

Several startling revelations have come fore which throws light on the laxity of the school authorities and the police in handling the crisis.

According to sources, there was a delay in taking the boy to the hospital after he was beaten by students of class 12 from the same school. And shockingly, the school buried the boy’s body inside the campus after doctors declared him dead without informing his parents.

In fact, as a cover-up, the school authorities, doctors of Jolly Grant hospital where the victim was taken hours after the incident and the Ranipokhri police authorities had maintained that the death was due to food poisoning. However, the autopsy reports later revealed that the victim died of internal bleeding and there were visible marks of injury on the body.

Yadav’s father, Pappu also said that he was informed over the phone that his son died of food poisoning. The autopsy was conducted only after the father approached the Uttarakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

Moreover, according to a report by Zee News, the role of the police authorities handling the entire incident also became questionable as the police initially were reluctant to take action against the school administrator, Sarkar Stephen.

Usha Negi, the chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, whose intervention in the case led to the matter coming to light, told media that all possible attempts have been made to divert attention from the incident.

“The incident took place on March 10 and we were informed about it on March 11, following which we visited the school. However, when we got there, we found that the school administration had buried the body.” She told media, adding “they didn’t even bother to inform the parents, who live in Hapur, that their child had died”.

In the case which emerged on Wednesday, the victim was allegedly beaten up by his seniors who suspected him of stealing a packet of biscuit. The boy was beaten up inside a classroom and was there for the next few hours until the warden spotted him. Reports in local media said that not only was the boy beaten up by class XII students, they also tortured him and poured cold water on him and made him also drink the dirty water.

“He was beaten up in phases in the afternoon, while he was taken to hospital in the late evening,” SSP Dehradun Nivedita Kukreti told Times of India.

Meanwhile, two class XII students of the school have been arrested on charges of murder, under IPC section 302 and three school staffs, namely the sports teacher, the warden and hostel manager have been arrested under IPC section 201, causing the disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender.

In a similar incident last year, a boarding school in Dehradun had tried to cover up a gang rape of a class 10 girl by four other students which ultimately led the school to lose its CBSE license.

Congress hatao, gareebi apne aap hatt jayegi: PM Modi’s frontal attack on Congress in Meerut

In a blistering attack against the Congress party, PM Modi asserted that if Congress is eliminated, the country will automatically become poverty-free. PM Modi was in Meerut to address a public rally for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

”When I was 8-9 years old, I used to hear about the government measures to eliminate poverty. I heard it in my teenage too. When I was in my twenties, even then the government promised to remove poverty and now after 4 generations of the dynasty being in power, all that they promise is to remove poverty. According to me, if Congress is removed, poverty will be eliminated on its own,” PM Modi said.

Slamming Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s Minimum Income Guarantee scheme, PM Modi said, “The people who could not ensure Indians have bank accounts, can they be trusted to put money in your accounts?” It was PM Modi led BJP government which launched Jan Dhan Yojana under which 32.41 crore Bank accounts were registered for the first time.

In an apparent jibe against Congress’ concocted Hindu Terrorism, PM Modi alleged that the UPA government identified and categorised terrorists based on their castes and religion to determine which terrorist can be punished and which can be saved. He also asserted that when Mahamilavat(UPA) came to power, the country was rocked with multiple bomb blasts in different corners of the country.

Taking a dig at the opposition, Modi said, “Now when Modi took the fight against terrorism into their home (Pakistan) and destroyed their terror camps, the opposition leaders are weeping and asking for proof from our brave soldiers.”

Hitting out at the opposition who asked for proof on the Indian Air Force’s Balakot airstrikes, Modi alleged that these leaders are questioning the valour of our Armed Forces. Modi asserted that there’s a race among the opposition leaders as to who becomes more popular among Pakistanis. He quipped, “Does our country want those who are being lauded in Pakistan or those who laid down their lives to protect it?”

Known for coining witty acronyms to drive home his point, PM Modi came up with an ingenious acronym SaRaB to take on the coalition of Samajwadi Party(Sa), RLD(Ra) and BSP(B). PM Modi asserted that the people of Uttar Pradesh should stay away from  SaRaB(alcohol) for the good health of their state. Modi also contended that Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati’s coalition has nothing new to offer to the people. “The signboard has changed but the shop remains the same,” PM Modi said.

Four terror camps shut down in Pakistan fearing action by Indian Army

0

Four terror camps in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir have been shut down fearing action by the Indian Army, according to reports. They were controlled by leaders of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. An alert was issued to terror groups amidst the increasing ceasefire violations to shut down the terror camps.

Intelligence agencies have received information about a meeting that was held on the 16th of March which was attended by ISI representatives and Lashkar and Hizbul terrorists. As per reports, four terrorists were ordered to shift their camps from the Line of Control. These include Lashkar terrorist Ashfaq Barwal operating from Kotli, Jaish’s Nadeem from Bagh, Zahoor Qari from Pala and Hizbul’s Wasim Dar from Kotli.

Along with closing the camps, the terrorists also have been asked to don Army fatigues. In the meeting, it was decided to raise the funding of Jaish-e-Mohammed as a “reward” for successfully executing terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir. But Lashkar was criticised by Pakistan government representatives for not being able to do so.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has said in an interview that his country can no longer allow the terror elements to operate on its soil with impunity. Imran had claimed that his country has come down hard against terrorists using its land. “We are dismantling terror networks on a level that has never happened before. We cannot afford to be held responsible for terror activities like Pulwama. Armed groups within Pakistan cannot be supported any further,” he had said.

However, in light of the recent report, it appears that Imran Khan, as usual, was bluffing when he said Pakistan was dismantling terror networks. It appears that the terror camps were shut down in consent with terrorists fearing action by Indian Army.

The hostilities between the two countries peaked as India conducted airstrikes deep inside Pakistan targetting terror camps in the country in response to the Pulwama attack. Although tensions have deescalated since then, ceasefire violations continue to occur at the border.

Assam: Rift within Congress over ties with Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF

The pre-poll understanding between the Congress and the AIUDF has been common knowledge for some time now. Badruddin Ajmal had stated recently that his party will contest elections from only 3 seats in Assam to prevent ‘division of secular votes’ in the elections.

The State Congress, for its part, has maintained that there wasn’t any understanding as such although every indicator pointed towards a different conclusion. Now, reports have emerged of rifts within Assam Congress after a section of the unit opposed attempts to reach an understanding with Ajmal’s party.

A senior party leader is reported to have said that despite a resolution passed by the APCC opposing any alliance, a certain section of leaders had already started negotiations with the AIUDF. Ajmal has reportedly roped in Jamiat-Ulama-i-Hind president Mehmood Madani to persuade the AICC to nominate candidates of Ajmal’s choice. But the proposal was reportedly rejected.

As a consequence of the rift, the announcement of candidates for four constituencies was delayed as the APCC postponed the scheduled meeting of the party election committee. Even former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi, once a fierce critic of Ajmal, has gone silent to ensure his son Gaurav Gogoi’s victory from Kaliabor constituency, which has a considerable Muslim population.

Reports say that state Congress president Ripun Bora and leader of opposition Debabrata Saikia were summoned to Delhi to take part in a meeting to select Congress candidates for Dhubri, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, and Guwahati.

Saikia’s camp has been alleging that despite APCC resolution not to associate with Ajmal, a section has been negotiating with Ajmal and hence a ‘lightweight’ candidate, Abdul Rezzak has been nominated from Dhubri, to help Ajmal retain his MP seat.

Badruddin Ajmal has also been reportedly trying to get the Congress leaders to nominate another lightweight candidate in Barpeta.

Yesterday, addressing a press conference, APCC President Ripun Bora had said, “The Congress party is a secular party and will never make any alliance either open or secret with a communal party like AIUDF.”

It appears that despite opposition from the State Congress, a decision has already been made by the higher-ups to reach a pre-poll understanding with Ajmal ahead of the General Elections.
