‘Rahul Gandhi wants to be the PM? My foot!’: Senior RJD spokesperson slams ‘ally’ on National TV

While debating on Republic TV yesterday, after the high voltage drama which unfolded in the Parliament, leaving the entire nation in splits of laughter and in a state of bewilderment, the Congress’ allies RJD senior spokesperson, Shankar Charan Tripathi, slammed the ‘Naamdar’ party president, Rahul Gandhi for doing what he did in the Parliament while speaking on the no-confidence motion’. During the debate, Tripathi had also emphatically stated “Rahul Gandhi wants to be the PM? My foot!”.

A portion of that debate has been uploaded by Republic TV on Twitter:

Shankar Charan Tripathi lambasted at Rahul for blatantly lying on a national platform, putting such serious and baseless allegations on the ruling party (concerning the Rafale deal), which fell flat when the defense minister Nirmala Sitaraman, countered the allegations with appropriate documents, saying that this kind of behavior is not expected from a senior parliamentarian like Rahul Gandhi.

He further charged at him saying that it has been proved that he was lying on the floor of the house as the French Government issued a statement which proved that Rahul Gandhi lied.

RJD spokesperson disgusted with Rahul’s attitude said that he can keep on dreaming to become the future Prime Minister, but can never get there. Said in a loathsome manner, “Rahul Gandhi wants to become the PM? my foot”, making it obvious that not only the majority nation but people from within his allies are of the same opinion.

He even went on to say that even though he is an RJD spokesperson, for him the nation comes first and it was laughable that someone like Rahul Gandhi wants to lead it. RJD and Congress are now allies in the ‘united opposition’ and have often displayed substantial camaraderie.

The RJD spokesperson’s stand also came as a surprised because Tejashwi Yadav had tweeted appreciating Rahul’s “fantastic speech”.

With Shankar Charan Tripathi’s stand on national TV, it is evident that even within the united opposition, there seem to be veterans who can’t accept Rahul’s theatrics.

Rahul’s speech, which was laden with lies, was even countered by Vishnu Som, a journalist from NDTV which is widely known to be heavily biased towards the Gandhi family. He took to Twitter to question Rahul’s allegations that the Rafale deal signed by the Modi government was actually a “scam”.

He tweeted, that the Rafale deal was a “scam” because the government was not being able to point out effectively why the deal was not a scam. Vishnu also quoted a detailed article by analyst Abhijit Iyer Mitra that explains just why these Rafales are a far better deal than what the UPA has bargained for and why there is really no ‘scam’ as Rahul Gandhi alleges.

Yesterday, Sumitra Mahajan, the Lok Sabha speaker was also “not pleased” with Rahul Gandhi’s theatrics when he walked across the well of the house to hug PM Narendra Modi, following it with a wink at his fellow Congress MP. She urged the lawmakers to maintain decorum and sanctity of the House, the speaker chastised the party supremo saying, “the manner in which it was done was not right. I didn’t like it too”.

However, Congress loyalist journalists, who claim to be neutral, jumped to this opportunity, disparaging the speaker for rightly disciplining the Congress ‘shehzaada’ for his childish behaviour.

Legal notice served to Times of India for falsely portraying Veda Pathshalas as ‘Human Trafficking centres’

Advocate Vibhor Anand has served a legal notice to Times of India (TOI) for hurting the sentiments of Hindus by portraying ‘Veda Pathshalas’ as Human Trafficking centres. After serving the notice, Advocate Anand has asked Times of India to tender an apology, failing which they would have to face legal consequences:

We had reported on Monday how TOI had carried a story about a minor victim of human trafficking being rescued after he escaped from a Madrasa in Chennai. The newspaper though had made matters contentious after titling the story as, “11-year-old boy’s rescue reveals ‘trafficking’ prevalent at madrasas, Veda Pathshalas”.

Even though the article alleged Veda Pathshalas to be human trafficking centres, its content failed to provide any proof to back the allegation, leading many to draw the conclusion that the Pathshalas were force fitted into the story to balance things out.

Following a furore on Social Media, TOI proceeded to quietly change the headline to delete the Veda Pathshala reference but failed to provide any apology for its mistake.

Now the legal notice has taken note of the matter and has made both TOI Editor Chennai and Ekatha Ann John (who wrote the article) as defendants in the notice. The notice served on the behalf of Madhavi Dhyani states that the client is committed to taking action against anyone disrespecting the Hindu religion.

After detailing the whole episode, the notice observed that media organisations have time and again published controversial articles and headlines with the sole intention of maligning Hinduism. The notice also categorised the article’s efforts as unlawful and criminal.

One such example of painting a false picture was reported by us when news headlines were published with accompanying picture depicting Hindu symbols, claiming that a ‘tantrik’ or priest was involved in some crime, while the report was actually about perpetrators belonging to other religions.

After calling Veda Pathshalas as pious institutions which impart Vedic knowledge, the notice described the TOI article as, “extremely derogatory, defamatory and insulting to Hindus”. It also claimed that the editor had published the article while being fully aware of its potential to hurt the sentiments of Hindu.

The notice thereby claimed that this act of TOI is punishable by sections 153, 153A, 295A and 505(2) of the IPC which can draw a fine and potential imprisonment of up to three years.

Therefore the notice asked the accused parties to tender an unconditional apology and withdraw the article in question. It also warned that if the newspaper failed to do so within 15 days, legal action would be initiated against it, at its own risk, cost and consequences.

Setback for Rahul Gandhi as even NDTV journalist doesn’t agree with his Rafale deal allegations

NDTV is known to be severely biased towards the Gandhi family. We have often seen the channel and its anchors batting for the Dynasty, whether that was Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi. In fact, after yesterday’s No-Confidence motion debacle too, some NDTV journalists found a reason to cheer for Rahul Gandhi.

However, there were some for whom the debacle turned out to be too much to handle. Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi made tall claims about an alleged scam in the Rafale deal which was signed between the Modi government and the French government. He asserted that in a ‘private conversation’ between him and French President Macron, Macron had admitted to him that there was no confidentiality clause in the agreement, and thus, the Modi government was lying.

It turns out, that Rahul Gandhi was indeed lying as the French government soon issued a statement debunking Rahul’s claims. NDTV journalist Vishnu Som too took to Twitter to question Rahul’s badly thought of allegations casting aspersions on the Rafale deal.

He tweeted, that the Rafale deal was a “scam” because the government was not being able to point out effectively why the deal was not a scam.

On the pricing of the jets, Som pointed out that the Rafale jets that the Congress government had signed up for were not the same jets that the Modi government has signed up for.

He further explained with an example. He said that if the UPA government was negotiating for a Maruti Suzuki Swift LXi, the Modi government contracted for a Maruti Suzuki Swift ZXi. Basically saying that the Modi government bought far superior jets with added features that made it more expensive.

He then went on to explain why the confidentiality clause was essential and what were the additional featured that these Rafale jets have, because of which the price of the jets was more than what the UPA had settled for.

Vishnu Som explained that the Rafale jets that have been bought by the Modi government have a bunch of featured that the Indian Air Force wants and that nobody else in the world has. The confidentiality clause is essential because the French don’t want to reveal the cost of developing these systems also because in the future, they want to sell these systems to other countries at a profit and revealing the cost and how much India bought the jets for, would take away the bargaining capacity that now rests with the French.

As an approximation, Vishnu Som says that the India Specific Upgrades cost about 1.7 Billion Euros and the upgrades are basically ones that would enable the Indian Air Force to detect, jam and confuse Pakistan and Chinese missiles fired at it from the ground, while enabling it to hit targets in the air and on the ground for a very long distance.

He ended his explanation by saying that the Rafales being bought by India are actually far more advanced than what France itself uses and hence, the added costs are worth it.

Vishnu had also quoted a detailed article by analyst Abhijit Iyer Mitra that explains just why these Rafales are a far better deal than what the UPA has bargained for and why there is really no ‘scam’ as Rahul Gandhi alleges.

As for the allegations hurled by Rahul Gandhi, the BJP has declared that they are working on moving a privilege motion against Rahul.

Self-styled Christian pastor and healer arrested by police after women alleges he raped her

A Chandigarh-based Christian godman and self-styled faith Christian healer has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman from Zirakpur.

Accused Bajinder Singh, 36, President of The Church of Glory and Wisdom, Chandigarh, and known among his followers as Prophet Bajinder Singh Ministry, was arrested at the Delhi airport when he was about to board a flight to London where he was scheduled to attend a healing event on 21st July, said Pawan Kumar, a Zirakpur station house officer (SHO).

He was produced before a Mohali court on Thursday and sent to two-day police remand.

The victim, a resident of Zirakpur running a ‘dhaba’ (roadside eatery) there, told police that the pastor had come in contact with her in 2017 and lured her on the pretext of taking her board. She started working as a volunteer for Singh looking after the security arrangements at his events.

She alleged that Singh sexually assaulted her at his house in Chandigarh and made a video of the same, which he used to threaten her if she ever complained or rejected his demands. Pawan Kumar, the SHO, also revealed that the victim had paid the accused pastor a sum of three lakh for promising her to be taken abroad.

He further clarified that “We had received a complaint of rape from the woman in May this year. The accused was on the run since then. We had got a lookout notice issued against him. We nabbed him when he was leaving for England,” the SHO said.

The FIR registered, named few other people, close aides of the priest, namely Jatinder, Akbar, Sartar Ali, Sucha Singh, Rajesh Chaudhary and Sandeep Pehlwan, alleging of physically assaulting the victim.

A case has been registered under Sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 294 (obscenity), 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 67 (transmitting sexually explicit content) of the Information Technology (IT) Act.

The self-styled Godman, who claims of healing serious illnesses like HIV infections, paralysis by simply applying his prayed anointing oil, curing a deaf and dumb child by using the same oil and many more (many such so-called miracles posted on his Facebook page) with around 77,513 followers on Facebook and running a youtube channel with 1.37 lakh subscribers has a shady past too.

Born into a Jat family in Haryana’s Yamunanagar, Bajinder converted to Christianity when he was lodged in jail in a murder case. “During his stay in the jail, he came in contact with a pastor and got inclined towards Christianity. He used to read Bible daily and got converted,” said police officials privy to the investigations.

His close associate, who was not willing to be named, said Bajinder started holding Sunday prayer meetings for healing in 2012 and gradually became popular with attracting almost around 2000 people in every meeting.

Congress loyalist journalists now slander LS Speaker Sumitra Mahajan after she disciplined Rahul Gandhi

0

The drama in the ongoing No-Confidence motion in the parliament seems to be far from over. Soon after Rahul Gandhi drama ended in the Lok Sabha today, the usual baiters of the Narendra Modi government ganged up to defame one of the most respected Lok Sabha speakers Sumitra Mahajan.

Earlier, after the most enduring drama performed by Rahul Gandhi to show his exemplary theatrics to hug the Prime Minister and also wink at the other member to indicate his the gesture wasn’t genuine, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had reprimanded the Congress president for his childish behaviour.

But infamous and controversial journalists, who often travel great lengths to defend Rahul Gandhi, don’t seem to be too happy with the decision of the Speaker of the house to school Rahul Gandhi about the procedures and rules to be followed in the house.

Swathi Chaturvedi, troll and a Congress supporter who is known to be foul-mouthed, now thinks that the speaker sided with BJP. She was not particularly happy with Speaker schooling Rahul Gandhi for not following the rules of the house.

Soon, another controversial journalist, Sagarika Ghose supported the views of the troll Swati and said that Speaker Mahajan was an ‘utter disaster’ and ‘partisan’. Sagarika Ghose is famous for abusing others and peddling fake news on social media.

Editor of pro-AAP blog Rifat Jawaid, who was eagerly waiting to show his bias against the BJP, joined the bandwagon to peddle their narrative.

Even self-proclaimed journalists like Saba Naqvi questioned the bi-partisanship of the Speaker. The serial abuser Tehseen Poonawalla also had a thing or two to say about the widely respected Speaker.

It is rather tragic that these commentators, who claim to be neutral, would hardly care about Parliamentary procedure and defame one of the most senior Speakers simply to defend Rahul Gandhi and his theatrics.

No-confidence motion: French government proves Rahul Gandhi lied on the floor of the Parliament today

Congress President while speaking during the no-confidence motion debate against the Narendra Modi led government accused the Modi government of indulging in a ‘scam’ in the Rafale deal. He said that there was no confidentiality clause which barred the government from discussing the terms and the price of the Rafale jets. Gandhi claimed that when he met the French President Macron in Delhi, Macron told him that there is no secrecy pact between the two countries. Even Congress MP Shashi Tharoor ended up lying and misinterpreting a report in English, a language he usually excels in.

However, all the allegations fell flat on Congress President when the French Government issued a statement which proved that Rahul Gandhi lied on the floor of the Parliament.

In the statement, the French Government states that the secrecy pact was signed in 2008 (during UPA regime, AK Antony being the defence minister) which legally bound both the countries to protect classified information. These provisions also apply to the deal of 36 Rafale aircrafts and their weapons which was signed on 23rd September, 2016. The statement further states that President Macron had indicated publicly in an interview to a news channel, India Today on 9th March, 2018 that the deal is very sensitive and he cannot reveal details.

This is how Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, slammed Rahul Gandhi for his ‘hug and wink’ move

The ongoing Lok Sabha discussions on no-confidence motion witnessed high drama on Friday afternoon when, Congress President Rahul Gandhi walked over to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and gave him a hug.

While it was being considered by some as a gesture made in good faith, the whole episode later reeked of pre-scripted drama when Rahul Gandhi followed up the hug with a wink, which was supposedly directed at his fellow party colleague.

This episode though has failed to amuse Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan who has slammed Rahul Gandhi for his stunt.

Soon after the proceedings resumed at 4:30 PM, Home Minister Rajnath Singh brought Rahul’s episode to the house’s notice and described it as a “Chipko movement”. Following Rajnath Singh’s comment, Mahajan stepped into the matter by asserting that Rahul’s actions weren’t proper.

She stated that such an actions don’t befit the house’s decorum and that there’s a dignity attached to the Prime Minister’s position. Congress leaders like Gaurav Gogoi and Mallikarjun Kharge opposed Mahajan in this regard but she shot them down by saying that such actions should not take place and that it had also not gone down well with the speaker’s chair.

She explained her view by reminding the MPs that the house has a decorum and when Modi sits in the Prime Minster’s seat he sits there as a Prime Minister, and not as an individual citizen.

In a possible way of taking an aim at Rahul Gandhi, she also stated that everyone must keep it in their mind that they have to behave in a dignified manner as members of parliament. She further took note of Rahul’s wink and strongly stated that everyone has to maintain the dignity of the house.

After directly referring to Rahul Gandhi, she made it clear that Rahul is not her enemy and considers him like her son. In the same breath though she added that she has the right to reprimand him when he does something wrong.

Such a message by Mahajan was received positively by some social media users:

It remains to be seen whether the speaker would end the matter with a reprimand, or would she instead choose to take further action against the Congress President for his act.

Media Pidis fail to understand why Rahul Gandhi isn’t a people’s man

So Rahul Gandhi has delivered his speech in Parliament, followed by a dramatic gesture of embracing the Prime Minister and culminating in a triumphant wink at fellow Dynast Jyotiraditya Scindia.

And as usual, the Pidi gallery burst into choreographed praise following his speech.

Untitled.png

Untitled.png

And here is a compilation by Rishi Bagree

We already knew that the media would be doing ‘overtime’ tonight. ‘Gaane bajaane wale,’ like the PM recently remarked.

And just like that, today’s speech gets added to the ever-thickening file of ‘Rahul Gandhi’s growing up’ moments. The ecosystem has been collecting pictures for that scrapbook right since 2004. They haven’t scrapped their hopes yet.

Their alacrity, their desire to see their favourite Rahul make a mark, no matter how small, against Narendra Modi keeps them awake all night. This constant mental torture of seeing their boy try and fail leads them to see false dawns everywhere.

The problem goes deeper. You see, the secular ecosystem fails every time to understand the *real* reason that their Rahul baba isn’t able to connect with people. They are convinced that Modi has cast some kind of magic spell on the country with his speeches … and if only Rahul can break that spell, or just prick it in some way, he will win.

And so it is that every time Rahul Gandhi, now pushing full 50 years of age, delivers a speech, they come rushing out of their homes, to their windows and rooftops, beating drums, blowing conches, announcing the arrival of their messiah. Sonia’s son who will be their king and save them all.

They don’t realize what ordinary people feel when they see this pathetic spectacle.

In India, middle-class children grow up with the constant threat that their lives might amount to nothing unless they work their tails off. By the time the child is 12 or 13, they are saddled with the fear of board exams and the crushing competition for a seat in a half-decent college. Childhood is over by the time the kid turns 13. And that’s speaking of the relatively privileged kids, who have middle-class parents who can afford to send them to decent schools. Literally millions of other children grow up in desperate poverty, not sure of meals, saddled with the responsibility of contributing to the family income as soon as possible.

So, people in India learn to fight. For a school, for a college, for a job, even a seat in a local train. There isn’t much time to mature, even if you are just 12 years old. You either get with the program or get left behind. Other ambitious kids are rearing to take your place. At least a million of them.

And then, guess what? They see this rich kid who is pushing 50 years of age and *still* enjoying a childhood. And what is worse, he gets banner headlines full of credit each time he manages to do something without making an absolute fool of himself. Every single time, Rahul Gandhi gets 100/100 for effort.

If he does a little worse than last time, they gather to console him and praise him for effort. Remember these tweets when Rahul Gandhi ended up calling the PM a ‘khoon ka dalal’ in the aftermath?

Untitled.png

And should he happen to do a little better than last time, it is a national celebration in TV studios.

Like I said, Rahul always gets 100/100 for effort. But go ask an ordinary man or woman when was the last time they got 100/100 ‘for effort’? When they were kids, did their mummy or daddy give them credit merely for trying when they brought home their report card? Does the IIT or medical entrance exam give points merely for trying? Now that they are all grown up, does their boss give them points for trying? Or are they judged on their performance and often very harshly so? Can they get decades of miserable performance reviews and still keep their job?

This is why Rahul Gandhi grates on the conscience of the people. Not because his speech giving skills are not as good as Narendra Modi’s.

And then Rahul Gandhi sits in some prestigious foreign university, spitting on the faces of millions of Indians, laughing and joking about how “India runs on Dynasty.”

Untitled.png

That’s Rahul at U C Berkeley, flaunting his privileged birth. Imagine how that sounds to a student in his earlier twenties who has worked hard his whole life just to have a chance to set foot on U C Berkeley campus.

Also, imagine how these words sound to a poor labourer who is borrowing lakhs of rupees at an insane interest rate for a chance to go somewhere in the Middle East and work 18 hours a day in near slave-like conditions. All for a chance to slightly improve the life of his family.

This is why India does not connect with Rahul Gandhi. It has nothing to do with his speeches. So Rahul makes gaffes while speaking. We all do. Even Modi does. But it is always Rahul’s gaffes that go viral every single time. It’s never about a slip of tongue. It is about people expressing their bitterness at a man who has had every possible opportunity in his life but has done nothing with it. And a man who, at nearly 50 years of age, is demanding credit for “trying harder.”

In an attempt to shield Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor goofs up and lies about French President’s interview

In an extremely volatile environment within the four walls of the Parliament, debate commenced on the No Confidence Motion that was brought against the Modi government by TDP and was piggybacked on by Congress.

Rahul Gandhi, in a speech sans proof, accused the Modi government of indulging in a ‘scam’ in the Rafale deal. He said that there was no confidentiality clause which barred the government from discussing the terms and the price of the Rafale jets. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Defence Minister spoke next to refute his allegations and prove that the confidentiality clause was indeed signed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself.

But as is the nature of Congress party, the loyalists are almost bound by a code to shield every lie furthered by Rahul Gandhi. Even the suave Shashi Tharoor, who is now an accused in his wife’s mysterious death, resorted to lying and misrepresenting what the French President had said in an interview to India Today.

After Rahul’s speech, Shashi Tharoor took to social media to tweet the interview of French President with IndiaToday to allege that not only to Rahul Gandhi but even to IndiaToday, President Macron had said that the price of the Rafale jet is no secret. In the parliament, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that in a private conversation between Rahul and the French President, Macron had said that the price was no secret.

It turns out, however, the Shashi Tharoor lied blatantly.

To quote from the very IndiaToday report shared by Shashi Tharoor:

He (Frend President Macron) said that a deal involves extremely sensitive business interests and it is not desirable to give out details of such a pact. The details of the commercial agreements should not be made known to rival companies as doing so may hamper the interests of the firms and hence, secrecy is justified.

Macron emphasised that secrecy clause is there because of commercial agreement related to technical issues. However, he gave an assurance that if the Modi government wanted to share some details, covered under the secrecy clause, with the Opposition parties to clear confusion and resolve political stalemate, French government would have no objection to it.

He termed the defence deal between India and France a pact signed in good environment. The Rafale deal is considered crucial for India’s defence preparedness in the coming years. Macron stated that the Rafale deal is the part of a comprehensive agreement between India and France in the field of defence cooperation.

While Macron, before this, had said that India can divulge details, but then he also made it obvious that such a move would be detrimental to both countries. In essence, he did say that the price of the jets and the terms of the deal were secret and a confidentiality clause did exist.

It is evident that the Congress is planning to repeat lies, hoping one would stick.

Smriti Irani demands trial against Congress’ Sanjay Nirupam for derogatory remarks against her, won’t accept apology

Union Minister Smriti Irani has demanded a trial against Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam who had made a derogatory remark against her back in 2012, ANI has reported.

As per the report, Nirupam had made a sexist remark against Irani during a debate on a news channel where he alleged that she used to charge money to dance on television before becoming an election analyst.

Following this, Irani had filed a defamation case against Nirupam and the Congress leader had followed it up by filing a criminal defamation case against her, wherein he alleged that she had defamed him by casting direct aspersions against his character.

Irani has also alleged that Nirpuam had continued making derogatory comments against her like, “Iss aurat ko Supreme Court jaane ka shauk hai” (this woman is fond of going to Supreme Court).

Hence during a court hearing with regards to these matters on Thursday, she categorically stated that she was neither willing to settle the case nor was she going to apologise to Nirupam.

Following this stance by Irani, Nirupam’s lawyer made a statement that in order for the case to settle apology needs to be tendered by both the parties. The hearing in this matter is expected to continue on Friday.

Even though Irani has filed a defamation case against him, Nirupam has been in no mood to stop his spree of sexist and defamatory statements.

We had recently reported how the Congress leader had tweeted an extremely misogynist and condescending tweet referring to Irani as ‘Bahurani’ (daughter in law), which seems like a reference to very popular serial starring Irani, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

Incidentally, Smriti Irani isn’t the only public figure who has been at the receiving end of Nirupam’s derogatory statements. Post the Karnataka elections Nirupam had cooked up a storm after he equated to Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala with a dog.
