‘Pappu’ word banned in Bhopal Municipal Corporation: Civic body releases list of 839 words and phrases that can’t be used in official meetings

On Friday, 6th October, Bhopal Municipal Corporation released a booklet listing 839 terms which will now be deemed unparliamentary in the meetings of the council. Among the 839 terms, the BMC has banned the usage of the word ‘Pappu’, which is often attributed to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

According to the booklet, some of the words/phrases mentioned in the list of unparliamentary expressions are ‘Bade Talab me dub maro’, ‘oxygen lag gayi’, ‘Chori aur Seenajori’, ‘Moti Akal’, ‘Maa kasam’, ‘Pappu Pass ho jayega’, ‘bhang khaye ho kya’, ‘RSS ke Gunde, ‘BJP wale mafia’, etc. The list also restricts unnecessary mention of the names of the wives of council members.

Additionally, common phrases like ‘sasur’, ‘pappu’, ‘neech’ ‘chor’, ‘mithya’, ‘dealing’, ‘ventilator’, ‘dirty’, ‘plunder’, ‘Nautanki’, ‘Tamasha’, ‘besharam’, ‘420’, ‘khalnayak’, ‘Paap’, ‘gandi surat’, ‘bechara’ are also included. The list also mentions many popular idioms like ‘bhains ke aage been bajana’, ‘bhains chali paguraaye’, ‘khoda pahaad nikli chuhiya’, ‘ek hi thaali ke chatte batte’, ‘ullu ka pattha’ among others.

The use of unparliamentary phrases offends the sensibilities of others, according to BMC officials, who claim to be the country’s first civic body to issue a pamphlet containing 838 unparliamentary words.

Bhopal Municipal Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi said that on the lines of 1500 words banned in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the booklet has been made to remove indecent words in the Bhopal Municipal Corporation Council meetings.

“To uphold decorum in the House, no corporator will be allowed to use the listed un-parliamentary words during BMC council meetings,” BMC chairman Kishan Suryavanshi said while releasing the booklet. Such language is inappropriate during discussions. Chairman Suryavanshi opined that the corporators need to remain mindful while using such words since they have been banned from now on.

The BMC chairman informed that in case any council member uses the unparliamentary expressions listed in the booklet, it will not be considered as a part of the proceedings. However, in case corporators perpetually use such words in the council meetings, they will be expelled from the House.

As Hamas launches massive attack on Israel, mosques in Jerusalem use their loudspeakers to incite Muslims to join Jihad against Israeli forces

As Hamas launched a massive attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, some mosques in Jerusalem have started inciting Muslims in Israel to fight for Jihad. Videos shared on social media show the loudspeakers installed on the minarets of the mosques being used to mobilise Muslims to fight against the defence forces.

Reportedly the mosques of the Shuafat refugee camp inside the Jerusalem municipality were using their loudspeakers to incite Islamists in Israel to join Hamas terrorists to attack Israelis. Muslims and Palestinians are being asked to rise up and join the Jihad (holy war) against the Israeli Defence Forces and the Israeli Government.

Shuafat refugee camp is the only refugee camp in Israel, located in the northwest of Jerusalem. The mosques in the camp area recited a verse from the Quran that said, “God will punish their murderers by your hands; Fight with them so that God will punish them by your hands”.

Earlier today, Hamas fired thousands of rockets into Israel from Gaza strip, hitting many civilian areas. The number of rockets overwhelmed the Iron Dome missile defence system of Israel. While some rockets were intercepted by the system, others were not, and many of them hit populations inside Israel.

Simultaneously, Hamas terrorists also infiltrated into Israel from land, sea and air, and carried out indiscriminate terror attack on civilians, killing and injuring many. The Hamas terrorists clashed with Israel Defense Force troops in border town of Sderot and other places.

Israel Defense Forces said that it has launched operation “Iron Swords” in response to Hamas’s surprise attack on Israel. Israels has also announced a ‘state of readiness for war’, indicating that a full-scale war can take place anytime. At present IDF troops are fighting Hamas fighters in at least seven different places.

Major disaster averted after train guard notices boulders on Pune-Mumbai railway track, 2nd attempt of sabotage in past 4 days

0

On Friday, 6th October, vigilant railway employees in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra, spotted multiple large rocks that had been placed on the tracks on purpose and narrowly averted a potential tragedy. The discovery was made by the railway crew of the civil engineering department at around 4:00 PM while carrying out routine track maintenance weld testing work.

The boulders were noticed by a watchful guard named Sandeep Bhalerao aboard a suburban train headed for Pune that was moving on adjacent tracks and he then alerted the station master at Chinchwad Mathew George. The train no. 16352, UP Nagarcoil-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Express’ loco pilot, MV Pavalkar and its guard DK Verma, were promptly informed by the station master to proceed cautiously which passed safely after the removal of the stones.

The official statement by railway officials said, “While our railway staff of civil engineering department has gone in this section for routine track maintenance weld testing work, staff observed that major boulders were kept on UP Line track. Timely detection of this miscreant activity by staff avoided the possibility of major unusual.”

A senior Railway official stated, “Guard Sandip Bhalerao on a Lonavala-Pune suburban train spotted the boulders on the adjacent UP tracks and informed the station master of Chinchwad. The station master immediately contacted the loco pilot of UP Nagarcoil-Mumbai CSMT Express and the train was halted till the time the boulders were removed.”

An inquiry has been initiated to find the culprits involved in the perilous act by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). CPRO Central Railway Shivaji Manaspure provided additional details about the incident and revealed that a team that was already patrolling the area observed massive rocks at five separate sites on the tracks at a distance of 10 to 20 meters. He mentioned that this offence appeared to have been done with malice reportedly by some anti-social elements.

The official added that the patrolling team acted swiftly and removed the boulders to avert any potential disaster. He proclaimed that a thorough investigation of the immediate region is being conducted to gather any clues or evidence to identify those who are culpable.

It should be noted that this is not the first instance of such a malevolent attempt. On 2nd October, the driver of the Vande Bharat Express travelling from Udaipur to Jaipur avoided a catastrophic event by pressing the emergency brake to thwart an attempted derailing plot. According to official reports, the Vande Bharat Express crew found that there were stones and fish plates left on the railway track.

Khalistani terrorist Gurcharan Singh arrested in London for hate crime against Gujaratis, had poured urine on tricolour & confessed to funding AAP

On 2nd October, Khalistani terrorist and member of the Dal Khalsa, Gurcharan Singh was arrested for a hate crime against Gujaratis in the UK which he committed on 22nd March 2023. He was later released on a personal bond. Notably, before his arrest, Gurucharan Singh was first detained by the UK police from outside the Indian High Commission in London on 2 October where he was holding anti-India protests with some other pro-Khalistan terrorists. During these protests, Gurcharan Singh had poured cow urine on the Indian flag tricolour.

Gurcharan Singh’s arrest came in a hate crime against Gujaratis in the UK. On 22nd March 2023, a video surfaced on social media where Gurcharan Singh was seen abusing a Gujarati Hindu in London during a protest against the Government of India over the crackdown on Amritpal Singh. The viral video shows a Gujarati Hindu man trying to converse with the protesting pro-Khalistanis when Gurcharan Singh got agitated and started shouting at him.

Gurcharan Singh said, “You Gujaratis need to listen carefully. Run away, or I will slap you. If you want to have Langar, have it quietly and leave. Your cow urine-drinking community has created a lot of drama. Tell every Gujarati. If the war starts, this time, we will fight in Gujarat. We will fight inside your house. Now go and drink cow urine.” He later challenged the Gujarati Hindu man to do whatever he could do.

Gurcharan Singh was arrested for this crime by the London police on 2nd October at noon. He was then released on bail on a personal bond at around 8 p.m. as per the local timing of London.

Gurcharan Singh poured cow urine on the tricolour

On 2nd October, Gurcharan Singh of the pro-Khalistan organisation Dal Khalsa orchestrated a protest outside the Indian High Commission in London. During this, he poured cow urine on the Indian flag and asked PM Rishi Sunak, who has been unapologetic about his Hindu roots, to drink it. A video of this incident has gone viral on the internet.

As the protest unfolded, Gurcharan Singh was led away by the police. He was later arrested for the hate crime against a Gujarati Hindu person and then subsequently released on bail.

Khalistani terrorist Paramjit Singh Pamma was also present in these protests

The participation of another Khalistani terrorist Paramjit Singh Pamma, who is currently listed as one of the top wanted terrorists by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), in the protest drew significant attention. Pamma, allegedly affiliated with the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), used the event as an opportunity to challenge India and issue threats in response to the killing of Harjeet Singh Nijjar in Canada.

This demonstration occurred shortly after an incident where Khalistani terrorists prevented the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, from entering a gurdwara in Glasgow, Scotland. India promptly reported this occurrence to the British government, asking them to take stringent action against those responsible.

Gurcharan Singh had confessed that Khalistani terrorists funded AAP in Punjab elections

It is notable that in 2018, the undercover investigation carried out by Republic TV in the United Kingdom unveiled several significant revelations about the activities of the Khalistani group involved in the “Break India” movement. One of the most noteworthy findings of the investigation was Gurcharan Singh, a member of the formerly banned Dal Khalsa, stating that his group had actively campaigned for and even provided financial support to the Aam Aadmi Party during the Punjab elections in 2017.

When questioned about whether the groups provided funding to the AAP, Gurcharan Singh responded by saying, “Aam Aadmi Party was just a tool. It was a meaningless tool. It is an irrelevant party. Aam Aadmi Party is an irrelevant party brought in Punjab by a rogue. We used the AAP as a tool to expose the political system and Electoral machines. AAP got 90 seats in Punjab. We used them as a tool to expose how fraudulent the electoral system is in the state.”

When further probed about his direct involvement in funding and campaigning for the party, he said, “I am not denying it, I am not denying it. We used them as tools. I am not denying it. The whole system is a fraud. Aam Aadmi Party is nothing. It’s a vessel. It means nothing, it stands for nothing. The thing was, do you know what it was? To counter. To upset the political forces in Punjab. And see how it happens.”

Fact Check: Did 121 people die because of the shutting down of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi

Days after the Allahabad High Court stayed the suspension on the licence of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi, social media was rife with disinformation about the death of 121 people in the Munshiganj area of the city.

On Friday (6th October), a propaganda news outlet by the name of ‘4 pm’ interviewed an alleged employee of the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, who made outrageous claims about the death of 121 patients due to lack of medical attention.

An alleged nursing staffer by the name of Saurabh Mishra claimed that a whopping 121 residents of Amethi died due to the closure of the hospital. “Some are dying en route to Lucknow, others are not getting medicines on time. There are not even cotton swabs and bandages,” he claimed

“Around 121 patients have died in just 15 days,” Mishra continued. “This is the politics of vengeance…They (BJP) hate Gandhis,” he brazened out.

Prior to him, another alleged employee of the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital named Umashankar Pandey claimed that the licence of the medical facility was suspended due to the BJP’s disdain for the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty.

“Smriti Irani (MP from Amethi constituency) hates the fact that ‘Gandhi’ name is attached to the hospital. Now, they (BJP) are hurting the employability of small-time workers,” he was heard as saying.

Screengrab of the tweet by Shantanu

After the clips of the video went viral online, the Congress system exploited the opportunity to create hysteria about the supposed death of more than 120 people in Amethi.

It must be mentioned that the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi is run by the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Trust (SGMT), which is headed by Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi.

Congress loyalist Shantanu claimed, “In hate of Rahul Gandhi and the Gandhi family, @smritiirani and the BJP govt of Uttar Pradesh took lives of 121 people as the functioning of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital was stopped…” He later deleted his tweet.

Other propaganda artists also shared the claims about the death of 121 patients. On Friday (6th October) night, the District Magistrate & Collector of Amethi, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, rubbished the false claims being propagated on social media.

“Completely misleading and wrong things are being shared. No one has died. There is no shortage of medicines in any government hospital of Amethi district,” he informed. “Legal action will be taken against spreading rumours about public health contrary to facts,” the District Magistrate of Amethi warned.

The Background of the Controversy

Earlier in September this year, the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi came under the scanner over the death of a 22-year-old woman named Divya Shukla. The victim went into a state of coma after being administered anaesthesia, prior to a kidney stone operation.

Shukla was then referred to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, where she eventually passed away. The district administration ordered the closure of the hospital, citing medical negligence, and directed the suspension of OPD and emergency services.

A case was also registered against 4 employees of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for negligence. On Wednesday (4th October), the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court put the order of the district administration on hold and directed the resumption of services.

Goods and Services Tax Council slashes GST on millet flour food preparations from 18% to 5%

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council has taken a significant step towards promoting healthy eating by announcing a substantial reduction in GST rates for millet flour food preparations.

The sources told ANI the tax rate has been reduced from the current 18 percent to a more affordable 5 percent.

Millet flour, known for its nutritional value and health benefits, has gained popularity among health-conscious consumers in India.

By reducing the GST rate on millet flour food preparations, the government aims to make these nutritious food items more accessible to the public.

This move aligns with the government’s efforts to promote a healthier lifestyle and dietary choices.

This, in turn, is likely to boost the consumption of millet flour food, benefiting the overall health and well-being of the population.

The GST Council’s decision reflects the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable and healthy food choices while also reducing the tax burden on essential food items.

It is anticipated that this move will encourage more people to incorporate millet flour-based foods into their diets, contributing to a healthier India.

Israel declares ‘state of readiness for war’ after several deaths in massive rocket attack from Gaza along with ground infiltration of Hamas terrorists

0

The Israel Defense Forces on Saturday declared a state of readiness for war following a massive barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip and infiltration of Hamas terrorists into Israel, The Times of Israel (TOI) reported.

“The IDF declares a state of readiness for war,” the army said in a statement.

“There has been widespread rocket fire into Israeli territory from Gaza, and terrorists have infiltrated Israeli territory through various entry points. Residents in the south and centre of the country are required to be in close proximity to protected areas, and those in the Gaza periphery should remain within a secure space,” the IDF added in its statement.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces said that it was carrying out retaliatory airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. The strikes come nearly two hours after Hamas launched a surprise attack, the Israeli daily reported.

In a statement, the IDF said the Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Herzi Halevi, is holding an assessment and approving plans of action, the daily added in its report.

“Hamas… which is behind this attack, will bear the results and responsibility for the events,” the IDF said.

A barrage of rockets slammed into southern and central Israel Saturday morning, including in Jerusalem, where sirens wailed at around 8.15 am (local time), Jerusalem Post reported.

At least one rocket directly hit a building in the Gederot Regional Council, killing a woman in her 60s, according to Magen David Adom.

As of 8 am (local time) on Saturday morning, Magen David Adom (MDA) said it had, thus far, treated 16 people throughout the country, including two who were in critical condition, six in moderate condition and seven with minor injuries.

There has been sustained rocket fire toward Israel for over two hours. One woman has been killed and there are multiple wounded from the barrages.

Aside from the woman who died of her wounds, the injured included a 52-year-old man from Gederot, who was moderately injured, and a 20-year-old man from Yavne, who also sustained minor injuries. Both victims were transferred to Kaplan Hospital, according to Jerusalem Post.

Hospitals also began reporting their wounded: Asaf Harofeh said it treated six people — two in serious condition, one in moderate condition, and three with mild injuries.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant approved a widescale call-up of reservists, following a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel.

‘Don’t have powers to review Sharia court orders’: Court rejects appeal of Malaysian man wanting to revert to Christianity after divorcing his Muslim wife

A 45-year-old Malaysian man petitioned the Kuala Lumpur High Court in Malaysia to renounce Islam and return to Christianity, his original faith, after divorcing his Muslim wife. On Wednesday (October 4), the top court, however, rejected his appeal, stating that the civil courts do not have the authority to review a Sharia court’s decision, a Malaysian local media outlet reported.

According to the report, the man converted to Islam to marry a Muslim woman in 2010, however, he got divorced in 2015. After the divorce, in 2016, he filed an application in the Sharia court to renounce Islam, however, the Sharia court mandated him to attend ‘counselling sessions’.

Later, the Sharia court rejected his renunciation application and asked him to attend further counselling sessions.

The young man then went to the civil court to challenge the Sharia court’s ruling. He argued in the civil court that he should be granted the right to return to and practice his original religion of Christianity.

Sharia court has more power than the civil court

Civil Court Judge Justice Wan Ahmed Farid Van Saleh, however, cited a judgment passed by it earlier this year and observed that civil courts do not have the power to review decisions made by Sharia courts.

Justice Van Saleh further said that I am bound by the court’s decision. The decision of the Sharia court cannot be reviewed.

Threat to kill PM Modi and blow up Narendra Modi Stadium received by NIA, Rs 500 crore and release of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi demanded

0

On Thursday, 6th October, the Mumbai Police received an alert from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) about an email threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to blow up the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Narendra Modi Stadium is one of the hosts of the ongoing Cricket World Cup.

The threatening email demanded Rs 500 crore and the release of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi saying that if the authorities failed to fulfill their demands, their men would attack the stadium.

Mumbai police are currently ramping up security as the city will be hosting five World Cup cricket matches at Wankhede Stadium.

Notably, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is imprisoned in Mandoli jail, in Delhi. The authorities say that the threatening email sent to the NIA originated from Europe. Some media reports suggest that those behind the mail used the Proton Mail platform. The email ID used for sending the threat was registered in the name of ‘Osama Bin Laden’s hire’. An India TV report claims that the said email had seven to eight layers of security adding that its domain is located in Switzerland. Meanwhile, the Indian authorities have sought details from the Swiss government in this regard.

The email read, “Tumhari sarkar se hume 500 crore aur Lawrence bishnoi chahiye nahi to kal hum Narendra Modi ke sath narendra Modi stadium bhi uda denge. Hindustan me sabkuch bikta hai to humne bhi kuch kharid liya hai kitna bhi sequre karlo humse nahi bacha paoge agar baat karni hai to is mail par hi bat karna (We want Rs 500 crore and Lawrence Bishnoi from your government, otherwise tomorrow we will blow up Narendra Modi Stadium along with Narendra Modi. Everything sells in Hindustan, something is bought, no matter how safe it is. Do it, you won’t be able to save. If you want to talk, then talk on this mail only).”

Although the police have ramped up the security, they suspect that the email was a hoax or a mischief by someone staying in a foreign country. Notably, Gujarat Police, on 29th September, filed an FIR against Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun for issuing threats to carry out an attack during the 2023 ODI World Cup match between India and Pakistan scheduled to be held on October 14 in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Khalistani terrorist intended to avenge the killing of slain terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The opening match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 was played on Thursday (5th October) between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Uttar Pradesh: 60-year-old Sher Mohammad of Bareilly commits suicide after getting caught raping a 5-year-old girl

In the Bareilly district village of Uttar Pradesh a 60-year-old man, Sher Mohammad, reportedly committed suicide hours after he was caught raping a five-year-old girl. The incident took place in a village under the Faridpur police station limits.

According to police authorities, the incident occurred when the young victim, playing outside her home, was lured by the accused Sher Mohammad to his residence, where she was raped. Her family became concerned when she didn’t return home and initiated a search, which led them to Mohammad’s house.

The girl’s family was met with a horrifying sight as they discovered Sher Mohammad in the act, forcibly assaulting the child. The accused fled the scene upon being confronted by the victim’s family but was later found dead by apparent suicide, hanging from a tree.

The police had earlier registered a case against Sher Mohammad under sections pertaining to rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, based on a complaint filed by the girl’s mother. However, that is null and void now after the suicide. The young survivor was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had endured a brutal rape. Her condition is currently stable.

“When I reached the house of the accused, I saw him over my daughter who was crying in pain. I raised a cry for help and the accused fled after locals gathered. We then went to the local police station,” the mother said in her complaint.

Authorities conducted a search operation to locate the accused, which culminated in the discovery of Sher Mohammad’s lifeless body. Prima facie evidence suggests that Mohammad, fearing legal repercussions, took his own life by hanging. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Mukesh Chand Mishra, Superintendent of Police (Bareilly Rural), noted, “We lodged an FIR under IPC section 376 (rape), and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was also invoked against the accused, but it is now null and void since he died by suicide. The victim has been admitted to a government hospital where her condition is stated to be stable.”
