Delhi: Scamsters falsely link woman with Khalistani terror outfits and drug peddlers to intimidate her, dupes her of Rs 5 lakhs

Online scams, also referred to as internet scams, are becoming increasingly common. In order to mislead their potential victims, fraudsters often capitalise on fear or greed for money. In one such recent incident, a 60-year-old woman from southwest Delhi was allegedly defrauded of about Rs 5 lakh by a bunch of online scamsters.

The fraudsters reportedly first scared the victim by falsely linking her with Khalistani terror organisations and drug peddlers and then preyed on this fear to dupe her. When the victim realised that she was tricked, she approached the police to report the cyber fraud on May 29.

According to the FIR filed in the case, the victim received a call from a man who identified himself as working for a reputable courier company. He informed her that she had scheduled a courier to Canada, but there were some issues. “I told him that I had not booked any courier because I do not know anyone in Canada. Then he said there must be some terrorist conspiracy behind it. He specifically used the word Khalistani,” the victim said in her complaint.

“He asked me to immediately lodge an FIR and also offered to connect me to someone in Amboli police station (in Mumbai),” she added.

The caller connected the victim to Sibb Shejol after she agreed to accept his assistance. Shejol assured the victim through a video call that he had filed an FIR and forwarded the case to the crime branch.

Shejol then connected the woman to his superior over a conference call, who urged Shejol to detain the woman right away on suspicion that she was part of a terror plot.

Shejol also told the woman that an account was opened in her name in Mumbai with her PAN and Aadhaar number.

The woman insisted that all accusations levelled at her were false and that she was innocent, however, in order to give the whole operation an even more sinister look, Shejol informed the hapless woman that Nishant C Shukla, a public prosecutor, had been chosen by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to look into her case.

Shukla showed his Bar Council card to the victim to win her trust after Shejol persuaded her to speak with him. Shukla then provided her with the photographs and Aadhaar cards of three other special officers, informing her that they had been hired for her and her family’s protection since there could a threat to her life.

The FIR further stated that Shukla went on to explain to the victim that they had found that the case pertained to a banker named Vipul Jain who had defrauded the government of 450 crore rupees.

“They told me that Jain was into terrorism and drugs and that 80 others like me were involved in this case. I was accused of getting some per cent of the commission out of this fraud.

“He said to save me from this case, he needed to file an affidavit for my anticipatory bail which has to go to 10 departments in Mumbai,” the woman said, adding that she was also asked to come to Mumbai to join the probe.

When the complainant declined, the accused claimed he would have to spend Rs 1.5 lakh on three bond papers costing Rs 5,000 each for each of the ten departments, plus an additional Rs 45,780 for notary, affidavit, and stamp fees, for a total of Rs 1,95,780.

He went on to request an additional Rs. 1,08,000 after she had already paid the initial sum in order to type some papers.

“I made that payment of Rs 1,08,000 to save myself from the arrest, money laundering and the drug trafficking charges, and all the humiliation. The accused also asked me not to discuss all this with any third person as it was a high-profile case under the PMO’s supervision,” she said.

The FIR stated that the victim ended up paying the fraudsters a total of Rs 4,99,560 after which she chose to report the matter to the police.

Speaking about the case, a police official said, “It is either fear or greed which makes people victims of cybercrime. These cyber criminals either lure people with lucrative offers to make quick money or create fear among them with false stories so that they can extort. People should immediately report such issues to local police for early tracking and recovery.”

Some similar cases of online scam

It may be recalled that only last month, a Delhi woman doctor had also become a victim of what is being seen as the biggest phishing scam on an individual in Delhi to date. According to a report by TOI, some fraudsters claiming to be from Maharashtra Narcotics Department duped the doctor of Rs 4.47 crores.

The fraudsters posed as police officials from the Andheri police station, RBI officials, a DCP from Mumbai Police, customs sleuths, and Narcotics division cops in order to defraud the victim.

In January this year, we reported about a Twitter user Geetika Rustagi who also narrated how she fell prey to one such online scam.

Crackdown on Amritpal Singh, Waris De Punjab resulted in dip in attendance at Golden Temple during Operation Blue Star Anniversary: What Intelligence agencies said

0

The Operation Bluestar anniversary at Amritsar’s Golden Temple, an otherwise big-ticket event in Punjab’s annual calendar, was a subdued affair this year. Intelligence agencies believe a dip in attendance was due to close monitoring and a carry-over effect of the crackdown on the radical group ‘Waris Punjab De’ earlier this year.

On June 6, the 39th anniversary of Operation Bluestar was observed at Golden Temple in Amritsar. To avoid any nefarious plans of separatist elements, heavy police presence was seen across the city. Policemen and sleuths of intelligence agencies in plain clothes were deployed within the confines of the Golden Temple complex. In a report prepared by central intelligence agencies mentioned that the gathering in the main Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) programme at Akal Takht remained low as it was only attended by around 2000 people as compared to the earlier years when more than 3000 people used to attend it.

A senior official said that the low turnout could be attributed partly to the strong action against ‘Waris Punjab De’ (WPD) due to which youth stayed away from the event fearing action by the police.

In the main programme at Akal Takht, a sufficient number of Task Forces by SGPC was deployed creating a sort of barricading around Akal Takht resulting in better arrangements. Main radical leaders were engaged by the SGPC and police to keep their programmes muted and hold them on one side of Akal Takht in a restricted space. Less hooliganism was observed by youth among Sikh radicals, the report reads.

On June 1, Sikh radical outfit Dal Khalsa gave a call for Amritsar shutdown on the 39th anniversary of Operation Bluestar. The programme by radicals remained peaceful as there was no provocation by other opponent outfits. There was no attempt to open the display of swords noticed in the programme of Dal Khalsa as well as in the main programme of SGPC.

The Focus Group meeting and State Multi-Agency Centre (SMAC) which liaison with other states and the intelligence bureau, helped sensitize the police officials as well as district level about the past experiences and instances. It resulted in curtailing hooliganism and providing better optics than previous years, the report said.

‘Somethings said in anger’: Father of minor wrestler who filed complaint against WFI’s Brij Bhushan Singh says he had filed ‘false complaint out of anger’

0

The father of a minor wrestler who had filed a complaint against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has admitted to a television channel that he has “corrected” the statement as he had filed a false complaint against him “out of anger”.

In an interview with a Haryana-based news channel-‘Khabrain Abhi Tak’, the complainant’s father said that the minor has corrected the earlier statement she had given in court and to the police. “Some things were said out of anger in that, some of them are true and some things were wrongly said. Brij Bhushan is right at his place but the anger was there and out of anger some false things were said. I have again given my statement and the things which were wrongly stated, I have corrected them,” the complainant’s father said.

When asked about media reports claiming that the minor victim’s father had filed a POCSO complaint against him in “revenge” after being overlooked for selection during camp, Brij Bhushan on Friday said, “All the matters are before the court. The government has also given an assurance that the chargesheet will be filed by June 15. Let the chargesheet be filed. I don’t think I should say anything now.”

The six-time BJP MP, Brij Bhushan was booked by Delhi Police following allegations of sexual harassment.

Meanwhile, in his interview with ‘Khabrain Abhi Tak’, the minor wrestler’s father said that there was no external pressure on him to change his earlier statement.

“Three to four days ago my daughter and I went to the police station and Patiala house court,” the father told the TV channel.

“One thing has changed. In 2022 they deliberately made my daughter lose the match, we were heartbroken. We have two houses and I had to sell one of my houses to ensure that my daughter can practice wrestling.”

According to the father, his ward had missed out on the selection to the Indian team and alleged that “the referee had intentionally made his daughter lose.”

“I had objected at that time but the technical staff said that if I wanted my daughter to participate in wrestling then do that else take her away,” he told ‘Khabrain Abhi Tak’.

The man said he was enraged because his daughter’s “one year of hard work had gone waste” because of that referee’s decision in the final.

“With this kind of partiality, where will we go, so it was obvious that there was anger,” the man said detailing the reason for his previous complaint.

The father, however, pointed out that he supports the wrestlers’ protest as he believed in the cause against which they have been protesting.

Olympians Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat along with other wrestlers had been on a protest in the national capital since the beginning of this year in order to press for the removal and arrest of the WFI chief over allegations of sexual harassment.

On May 28, wrestlers had planned a march and protest in front of the new Parliament, despite the imposition of Section 144 in the area. They were detained on their way by the Delhi police and FIR was filed against them under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 147, 149, 186, 188, 332, 353, Section 3 of the PDPP Act. The protest site was also cleared by the Delhi Police.

Following their removal from Jantar Mantar, Wrestlers arrived in Haridwar two days later to immerse their medals in the Ganga.

After a meeting with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, star Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia on Wednesday said the government assured that the ongoing probe by Delhi Police against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh will be completed before June 15.

Speaking to reporters at his residence after holding parleys with the ace grapplers, Thakur said “An Internal Complaint Committee of the wrestling federation will be constituted. It will be headed by a woman. We have demanded that all FIRs filed against wrestlers be withdrawn.

“They also requested that Brij Bhushan Singh, who has completed 3 terms (as WFI chief), and his associates be asked not to stand for the elections again. The wrestlers promised not to hold any fresh protests before June 15,” said Thakur.

Jammu and Kashmir: Girls of Srinagar school protest against ‘Abaya ban’ inside school, principal says they can wear a long Hijab over the uniform

On Thursday, 8th June 2023, girl students of the Vishwa Bharti Girls Higher Secondary School in Rainawari of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir protested against the school administration alleging that the school instructed girls not to wear Abaya (long robe) in the classroom. However, the school’s principal has stated that the school is not banning Abaya, but only asking the girl students to wear uniforms with a matching Hijab.

The principal clarified that as the girls were wearing abays of different colours and designs, the school is asking them to wear hijabs instead that match the existing uniform. She also said that the girls can wear abaya but they have to wear the school uniform under it, and they will have to remove the abaya after reaching the school. Principal Memroz Shafi added that the girls have been asked to bring a long Hijab or Chadar, preferably white, to wear over the uniform while in school to cover their bodies as per Islamic rules.

In a clarification statement issued on 8th June 2023, the principal of the Vishwa Bharti Girls Higher Secondary School said, “That it has been running on social media that female students have been directed not to wear Abaya (long robe) which is totally baseless and misrepresented. The School Management always respects the sentiments of all the sections of the society vis a vis the dress code.”

The statement further said, “It is clarified that no ban has been imposed by the School Principal or the Management on wearing Abaya but it was politely conveyed to the students to wear the School Uniform underneath the Abaya. It is for the information of all the students that they can wear the Abaya and no such restrictions have been imposed in the classrooms.”

The principal further said in the statement, “Today’s conversation with the students and the parents has been misrepresented and in any case, if it has hurt the sentiments of the students or the parents, I unconditionally apologise for the same.”

A group of female students from Vishwa Bharti (VB) Girls Higher Secondary School in Rainawari recently organized a protest on Thursday, expressing their grievances over being denied entry to the school due to wearing the Hijab. According to the students, they were informed that if they wished to wear the Hijab, they should attend a “Madrasa” instead.

In response, the school administration clarified that they were not opposed to the Hijab, but rather expected students to adhere to the school’s dress code. The protesting students claimed that the school authorities had explicitly instructed them not to wear the Hijab and even requested them to refrain from wearing their abayas while coming to school. It is notable that the school has recently started coeducation.

According to reports, one of the protesting girls said, “Why should we take off the Abaya? I don’t love this school more than my God that I will take off this Abaya. I will never take my Abaya off, there are so many boys in the college and there is so much immorality going on which is invisible to their eyes and asking us to take off the Abaya.”

She added, “Who is she (administration official) to tell us to take the Abaya off? She asked us to go to a Dargah (Religious School) if we wish to wear an Abaya. Don’t the girls who wear Abayas get the same education as everyone else?”

Memroz Shafi, the principal of Vishwa Bharti (VB) School, clarified that wearing Abayas was permitted after the COVID-19 pandemic. She explained that for some time, only a few girls wore Abayas to school, but recently, girls from lower classes began wearing Abayas, disregarding the school’s uniform dress code. She that even though the school has its own dress code, some girls also wear ‘Abaya’, and they have never been stopped from doing that.

She said, “Nobody is asking them to remove abayas. They can leave home and reach the school wearing abaya without any restrictions, there should be no doubt about that. We told them to put aside that abaya when they reach the school. We have told them to bring along a long hijab that will cover them well up to their knees. They are also given an option of a Chador. Hijab is the most comfortable as compared to abayas and other things because we want all of them to wear a uniform. They come wearing abayas of different colors and designs which cannot be allowed in the school. I asked these girls to bring a white hijab that will cover them well up to their knees so that it looks uniform.”

“We will announce a proper colour and pattern of ‘Abaya’ for all those students who want come to school wearing the same. We are not allowing colourful Abayas to be followed in the institution” she further said.

According to the principal, the school instructed these girls to remove their Abayas for the day, as per the dress code. However, the girls expressed their discomfort with this. In response to the girls’ concerns, the school made arrangements to accommodate their preference for wearing the Hijab.

The Principal further mentioned that in consideration of the student’s wishes, the school did not accept admission requests from outsiders and instead directed them to schools that allowed the Hijab.

The hijab ban controversy was sparked in Karnataka in January 2022. The Karnataka High Court pronounced its decision that the school can impose uniforms on the educational premises.

Show ‘Ajmer 1992’ to Ajmer Dargah Committee before its release: Radical Islamist Shoaib Jamai opposes the upcoming movie, Sarwar Chishti calls it political gimmick

Ajmer 1992, a Hindi movie based on the Ajmer rape case of 1992, is scheduled to hit the cinemas soon. However, the usual suspects have jumped to oppose it under the banner of secularism. Dr Shoaib Jamai, a controversial Islamic scholar, has this time insisted that the film should be shown to the Ajmer Dargah Committee before its screening in theatres.

He took to Twitter to voice his demands and stated, “After discussions with the Khuddam Committee, which included Sadar Syed Ghulam Kibria of the Ajmer Dargah Committee and General Secretary Sarwar Chisti Sahab, we formally declare that the movie Ajmer 1992 depicts a crime in the city in which Mahesh Ludani of Bharosa Colour Lab and Dr Jaipal played major roles as well as some local criminals were also involved. We have no objection if the movie is limited to that. ”

He warned the makers of the film and also threatened to stage protests throughout the nation. “However, if there is a plot to defame Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and the Azmer Sharif Dargah, strict legal action would be taken against the filmmakers, and there will be peaceful protests across the country.”

He further continued, “In light of this, it is preferable for filmmakers to present their work to the Ajmer Dargah Committee before release. in order to avoid future disagreements. It is forbidden to incite hatred in the guise of freedom of expression. Be sure!”

Dr Shoaib Jamai, a regular feature on Indian television debates is infamous for his radical views and Islamist approach to matters. Another Muslim leader, Syed Sarwar Chishti, general secretary of Anjuman Syed Jagdan, an organization of Khadims of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, has also expressed objection to the film by sharing a video on Facebook.

Ajmer 1992, in his opinion, is a political gimmick. He claimed that The Kerala Story was made because there were elections in Karnataka and Ajmer 1992 is produced since Rajasthan is holding elections soon. He argued that because it solely targets one community, this movie ought to be banned.

In contrast to what has been posted against the movie, a group of young men led by Farooq and Nafis Chishti, members of the powerful Khadim family, who oversaw the management of the renowned Ajmer Sharif Dargah, were responsible for the serial gangrape and blackmail of two hundred and fifty school and college-aged girls in 1992 Ajmer. These two were influential leaders of the Youth Congress.

Victims were lured into a rural farmhouse or bungalow over a period of years, concluding in 1992, where they were raped by one or more of the males. In addition, the criminals took explicit photos of the former, which they later used as blackmail to keep them from speaking out.

A local newspaper, Dainik Navajyoti, wrote a piece on the scandal that included some of the photos the rapists had taken as well as a description of the circumstances leading up to the assaults. Police started an investigation into the matter at the same time. Shockingly, local authorities reportedly knew about the incidents for up to a year before, but they didn’t take any legal action.

18 repeat offenders were prosecuted in court in September 1992. The first eight convicts to stand trial received life sentences, but the Rajasthan High Court eventually exonerated four of them in 2001. Farooq Chishti was found guilty in Ajmer’s fast-track court in 2007 but was discharged on time served in 2013 by the High Court. Nafis Chishti eluded capture until the Delhi Police apprehended him in a burqa as he tried to flee in 2003. Currently, he is also out on bail.

Another main accused Suhail Ghani Chishti, a resident of Khadim Mohalla, surrendered in the district court in 2018 after 26 years. He was later sent to judicial custody. The other co-accused, Iqbal, Saleem Chishti, Syed Jamir Hussain, Naseem aka Tarzan and Suhail Ghani have also been granted bail. Another main accused, Alamas, is still a fugitive.

Since the Ajmer gang rape trial began in September 1992, the police have filed six chargesheets, listing 18 culprits and more than 145 witnesses. Although just 17 victims provided testimonies during the first inquiry, the police estimated that around a hundred teenagers were sexually assaulted.

The matter has been transferred from the district court to the Rajasthan High Court, Supreme Court, Fast Track Court, and Women Atrocities Court. It is now in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court in Ajmer.

The Chisti duo are local celebrities but the unknown females who were raped as teens are still visiting the courts as grandmothers in hopes of justice.

Ajmer 1992 is going to shed light on the horrific ordeal of the victims and highlight the dark past of the offenders. However, Muslim organisations have already demanded a ban on the film labelling it divisive. The president of the All India Muslim Jamaat Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi has called it a plot to sow discord throughout the nation and alleged that social media and cinema specifically target one certain faith.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani also charged that the film was intended to defame the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and demanded an immediate ban on it. He remarked, “Instead of linking criminal instances with religion, there is a need to take united action against them. At the moment, excuses are being found to divide the society. This film will create a rift in the society.”

Notably, none of the protesters who are against the project centred on the gut-wrenching incident has ever addressed the same. Ajmer 1992 is directed by Pushpendra Singh and written by Suraj Pal Rajak, Gyanendra Pratap Singh and Pushpendra Singh. It stars Karan Verma, Sumit Singh and Rajesh Sharma in the lead roles. The film will be released on 14 July in theatres for the audience.

Owaisi outraged over ‘Aurangzeb ki aulaad’ comment by Devendra Fadnavis: What he had said about ‘majority Indian Muslims’ following Aurangzeb’s school of thought

Massive tensions erupted in the city of Kolhapur in Maharashtra on Wednesday, June 7, amid peaceful protest by Hindu organisations against people who posted social media stories praising Aurangzeb and Islamic tyrant Tipu Sultan on the glorious day when the state celebrated the 350th Rajyabhishek Day of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The police had to resort to lathi-charge and tear gas shells after the peaceful protest organised by several Hindu organisations was attacked by Islamists who pelted stones at the protesters. According to the local reports, the fight between the two groups happened after the Hindus were attacked by the miscreants.

“Some organisations had called for a Kolhapur bandh and the members of these organisations gathered at Shivaji Chowk today. After their demonstration ended, the crowd began to disperse but some miscreants started pelting stones, forcing police to use force against these people to disperse them,” Kolhapur Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit was quoted as saying.

Following the Islamist attack against Hindus, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said a riot-like situation was created in Kolhapur because of elements who like to glorify Aurangzeb.

“Some politicians had been saying that there could be a riot-like situation in the state. Responding to the comments of these leaders, youths of a particular community showcased pictures of Aurangzeb. They also glorified Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan. It cannot be a mere coincidence. “Why suddenly these images have been displayed in various districts of Maharashtra? It does not happen easily or automatically. As it cannot be a mere coincidence, we will have to dig deeper into this matter,” he said. “After his statement, some youth there glorified Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan, and there comes a reaction. Is there a connection between the statement and the incidents? We are conducting a probe into who is glorifying Aurangzeb and who is provoking people to do so. Once the probe is over, I will reveal those things,” he further said.

Later speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Fadnavis said suddenly Aurangzeb’s “auladein” (progenies) have taken birth in Maharashtra but the government will find out the people responsible for creating the law and order situation. “Displaying Aurangzeb’s photos and keeping a mobile status (on Tipu Sultan); this is creating tension in society. We will find the real culprits who are deliberately disturbing the law and order and defaming the state,” he said.

Responding to these statements, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi lashed out at Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis in a speech at Hyderabad, Telangana.

“Maharashtra’s Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis said “Aurangzeb ke aulaad”. Do you know everything? I didn’t know you (Devendra Fadnavis) were such an expert. Then call out Godse’s & Apte’s offspring, who are they?”, says AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on “Where do these sons of Aurangzeb come from…”, he said.

Owaisi essentially took offence to Devendra Fadnavis calling the Islamists who pelted stones at Hindus as the offsprings of tyrant Aurangzeb, who massacred millions of Hindus and converted several more. Considering that Owaisi took this to be an insult from Devendra Fadnavis, one would imagine that Owaisi denounces Aurangzeb as a tyrant who massacred Hindus and is therefore offended that current Indian Muslims, even those who pelt stones at Hindus and celebrate Aurangzeb were compared to the tyrant.

However, is that truly what Owaisi believes or even what Indian Muslims believe?

To understand the undying connection between Indian Muslims and Aurangzeb, one does not have to look at history, ancient of contemporary. One only has to understand the words spoken by one of the foremost representatives of Muslims, a veteran lawyer, a parliamentarian and an Islamic scholar – Asaduddin Owaisi himself.

A debate between senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was organised at the Arth Cultural Fest in Delhi on the topic of “Are India’s Constitutional Values Really Under Threat?” The event is from 2020 where the discussion was moderated by J Sai Deepak. In a 2-minute portion of the discussion between J Sai Deepak and Asaduddin Owaisi, Owaisi himself admitted that most Indian Muslims follow the school of thought of Aurangzeb.

In this discussion, J Sai Deepak tells Owaisi that everything that relates to Islam necessarily comes from a Book and commentaries that did not originate in India. He asked Owaisi if that would be a correct statement to make.

Owaisi first denied that statement. He immediately asked where Fatwa-e-Alamgiri was written. He then says, “Do you believe that the Islamic law is only Quran and Sunnah? No. It is Quran, it is Sunnah, it is the Fatwas given. Then you have schools of thought – Hanafi, Shafai, Malaki, then you have Fatwa-e-Alamgiri – there are so many books”.

He was then asked by J Sai Deepak what was the basis of these books and these schools of thought. Then, came the clincher. He said, “Majority of Indian Muslims are Hanafi. We follow Fatwa-e-Alamgiri”. When asked what the basis of Fatwa-e-Alamgiri was, Owaisi defeats his own argument and admits that it was based on the Quran and Sunnah.

While Owaisi got elaborately owned in this segment of the discussion, that is not the purpose of this article. Essentially, one needs to focus on a specific statement made by him in this exchange. He said, “Majority of Indian Muslims are Hanafi. We follow Fatwa-e-Alamgiri”.

It is pertinent to note that Fatawa-e-Alamgiri is a treatise authored by Aurangzeb wherein he outlines the ideal form of Sharia for all subcontinental Muslims and non-Muslims as well.

In order to compile Fatawa-e-Alamgiri, emperor Aurangzeb gathered 500 experts in Islamic jurisprudence, 300 from South Asia, 100 from Iraq and 100 from the Hejaz. Shaikh Nizam, a celebrated lawyer from Lahore was appointed the chairman of the commission which would compile the Fatawa-e-Alamgiri. The years-long work of these scholars resulted in an Islamic code of law for South Asia, in the late Mughal Era. It consists of legal code on personal, family, slaves, war, property, inter-religious relations, transactions, taxation, economic and other law for a range of possible situations and their juristic rulings by the faqīh of the time. In fact, it is documented that the Fatwa-e-Alamgiri even has elaborate instructions on how Muslim men can keep and treat slaves.

The Fatawa-e-Alamgiri (also spelt Fatawa al-Alamgiriyya) was compiled in the late 17th century, by 500 Muslim scholars from Medina, Baghdad and in the Indian Subcontinent, in Delhi (India) and Lahore (Pakistan), led by Sheikh Nizam Burhanpuri. It was a creative application of Islamic law within the Hanafi fiqh. It restricted the powers of the Muslim judiciary and the Islamic jurists’ ability to issue discretionary fatwas.

Essentially, Owaisi has admitted that most Indian Muslims, in fact, a majority of them, follow the school of thought that was established by Aurangzeb. Therefore, if the majority of Muslims follow the law established by Aurangzeb, it is certain that Owaisi feels no shame while being called the progeny of the Islamic emperor. Therefore, for Owaisi to take offence at being called the lineage of Aurangzeb is perhaps only for optics, because it is evident that “majority Indian Muslims”, per the admission of Owaisi, proudly follow the religious laws laid down by him.

90% communities in MOBC list in West Bengal are Muslims, Rohingyas and Bangladeshis also included: finds NCBC, to remove wrongly added communities

The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) has found that Rohingyas and illegal Bangladeshi immigrants have received Other Backward Classes (OBC) certificates in the State of West Bengal. NCBC also found that there are more Muslim OBC castes in the state compared to Hindus when the population of Hindus are more.

On Thursday (June 8), NCBC chief Hansraj Gangaram Ahir informed that 118 out of 179 castes, which have been granted OBC status in West Bengal, belong to the Muslim community. The matter came to light during field surveys conducted between February-May 2023.

“We have received several complaints stating that many from the Muslim community included in the list are immigrants from Bangladesh. We are investigating the matter, as this has been done by depriving actual beneficiaries. We have sought a detailed response from the state government,” Ahir informed.

The NCBC said, “When we visited the State in February this year, we took up the matter and questioned how there were more Muslim OBC castes than Hindu OBC castes in the State, when the absolute population of Hindus in the State is clearly higher. They did not have satisfactory replies.” He said that there was “clearly something wrong” with the State OBC list in West Bengal, and NCBC will remove communities added to the list wrongly.

He stated that the OBC list in the State is divided into two categories – A (Most Backward Class) and B (Backward Class) and that the first category is entitled to more benefits than the other.

According to the NCBC chief, 73 out of the 81 communities listed in Category A are Muslims and only 8 of them are Hindus, which means over 90% of communities in the MOBC list are Muslims. In category B, more than half are Muslim communities. “We are not against Muslims getting the benefit of reservation, but such irregularity can’t be accepted,” Ahir emphasised.

He pointed out that the Commission was verbally told during the survey that several Hindu OBC communities had converted to Islam. After seeking a written explanation, the West Bengal government reportedly claimed that it is unclear how many people converted to Islam, and there is no proof that all these communities had converted from Hinduism.

“It is clear that the state has arbitrarily given non-deserving communities OBC status,” the NCBC chief emphasised. He has directed the State government to fix the discrepancies at the earliest.

Reportedly, the Commission had earlier highlighted the issue during meetings in February and May this year. The West Bengal government relies on reports published by its own wing, namely, the Cultural Research Institute (Kolkata), for the inclusion of communities in the OBC list.

Flawed reservation policy in Rajasthan, Bihar and Punjab

The Commission also found non-implementation of reservation policy in the Congress-ruled State of Rajasthan. According to it, seven districts had no individuals with OBC status although a large number of backward communities were residing in those regions.

“No caste certificates had been issued. The state was following a flawed policy in which they were taking the income of the entire family to give OBC certificates,” Ahir said. “This made several people ineligible for non-creamy layer OBC certificate,” he stated.

NCBC has also directed the AAP government in Punjab to increase OBC reservations from 12% to 25%. The Economic Times reported that a total of 37% reservation (25% for Scheduled Castes and 12% for OBC) was allotted in the State.

Since the upper limit of the reservation is 50%, the Commission has directed the Punjab government to increase the OBC quota by an additional 13%.

Similarly, the JDU-RJD-ruled State of Bihar was faced with similar anomalies when it came to the implementation of reservation norms. NCBC found that the Bihar government was including the agricultural income of Class III and Class IV employees for calculating total income.

India Muslim Foundation chief and Jamia scholar Shoaib Jamai spews hate against Hindus, challenges Bageshwar Baba to make India a Hindu Rashtra, peddles ‘Bhagwa love trap’ conspiracy theory

Dr Shoaib Jamai, Chairman of India Muslim Foundation and a scholar of Jamia Millia Islamia University, who had recently posted a thread of tweets spreading fake things about Hindu religious texts, was once again been caught spewing hate against Hindus.

In a video that has been going viral, the Islamist scholar is not only heard spreading canards and peddling false propaganda to berate Hindus but also heard throwing an open challenge at Bageshwar Dham Sarkar. He dares the Hindu saint to try if he has the nerve, to turn India into a Hindu Rashtra.

In the 9.16-minute-long video, he also brazenly warned India of “Ghazwa-e-Hind”, a fantasy that refers to the complete conquest of India by invading Islamic forces. To further denounce Hindus, the scholar went on to brazenly peddle the illusionary ‘Bhagwa love trap’ conspiracy theory created by Islamists and Maulanas like Sajjad Nomani.

The video was originally posted on the YouTube channel Naya Savera Times (NS Times) on June 3, 2023.

Shoaib Jamai began his monologue by issuing veil threats to Bageshwar Dham Sarkar. He challenged the Hindu saint to try and convert India into Hindu Rashtra if he had the audacity. “I beseech Allah that the day would soon come when India transforms into Akhand Bharat, the Islamist scholar exclaimed, adding, “The day when 25 crore Muslims from Bangladesh, 25 crore Muslims from Pakistan, and 25 crore Muslims from India would unite and take over India, then India would have a Muslim Prime Minister and more than 250 Muslims would serve as Assembly members.

Threatening that India would be seized by Islamists following the 2024 Assembly elections, he claimed that Babas like Bageshwar Dham Sarker would be forced to flee the country.

Further peddling rabid Hindu hatred and propagating the idea of India’s annihilation, the Jamia Islamia scholar warned Babas like Bageshwar Dham Sarkar that their wish to make India a Hindu Rashtra would never be fulfilled as his religious brethren would not let even an inch of India’s land be converted into Hindu Rashtra.

At this point, the scholar is questioned about the gruesome cases of ‘Love Jihad’ emerging every other day from every nook and corner of the country where susceptible and vulnerable Hindu women are being targeted and exploited in the name of ‘love’.

The interviewer brought up the horrifying murders of Hindu girls by Muslim men, including Shraddha Walker by her Muslim live-in partner Aftab Poonawala and the minor girl named Sakshi by her ‘friend’ Sahil in Delhi’s Shahbad dairy neighbourhood, and questioned the scholar about his thoughts on such cases where Hindu girls are trapped by Muslims who later either force them to convert to Islam, push them into terrorism, groom them, or murder and rape them.

Here, the scholar though half-heartedly agreeing that these cases are a reality, deftly turned the discussion to the false ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’ conspiracy theory that is being spread by Islamists and Maulanas like Sajjad Nomani. He cleverly whitewashed the crimes being perpetrated by his religious brethren by blatantly claiming that Hindus are to be blamed for the rampant rape and molestation cases in India.

The scholar continued by expounding on how Muslims sacrificed their lives and shed blood to free India from the British, handing Hindus an independent India on a silver platter in return. At this point, he again challenged the Hindu saint to realise his vision of India becoming a Hindu nation.

How the ‘Bhagwa love trap’ conspiracy theory peddled by Islamists has translated to real-life attacks

The fictitious ‘Bhagwa love trap’ threat is posing a serious threat to society. This well-planned and organised crime has recently been spreading its tentacles in every nook and cranny of the country. Several hundred videos have emerged on social media showing an Islamist mob harassing, abusing, and attacking Hindu-Muslim couples under the guise of battling the ‘Bhagwa Love trap.’

A couple of months ago, Islamists began peddling a baseless theory dubbed ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’ to counter 100s of documented cases of impersonation, identity fraud, and forced conversions to Islam (popularly known as Love Jihad). It is based on a baseless theory about Hindu outfits, supposedly training Hindu youth to lure, and entrap Muslim women and turn them into non-Muslims.

The conspiracy theory soon took the form of a social media hashtag, which Islamists used to share videos of random hijab-wearing Muslim women and their male Hindu friends/ acquaintances and partners without their consent.

OpIndia has documented innumerable such incidents that happened in recent days, in which Hindu males and Muslim women were harassed by the latter’s rabid co-religionists for something as trivial and insignificant as sharing snacks or giving a lift.

Interestingly, while Hindu men are being attacked by rabid Islamists over a conspiracy theory called Bhagwa Love Trap, there are several cases that come to the fore every day where Hindu women are being brutalised, forced to convert to Islam and murdered/raped. Sajjad Nomani, a prominent Islamic scholar and cleric, has been at the forefront of the misleading campaign spreading ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’ tropes. His speeches and provocative remarks have added enough fuel to the fire of Islamism so much so that they have now translated into real-life incidents of attacks.

In one of his videos, he was heard saying, “8 lakh Muslim women have turned infidel and left Islam after meeting their Hindu partners. RSS has created a team of Hindu youths who are trained in Islamic teachings and Urdu…They are then instructed to lure Muslim women into a love trap.”

Sajjad Nomani claimed that such Hindu men are then rewarded with ₹2.5 lakhs, a house and a job, which is supposedly serving as an ‘incentive’ for the Hindu community at a time of high unemployment.

“Several Hindu youths are fixated on this mission but we are sleeping…Billions of funds have been allocated to take away our Faith,” he alleged. The AIMPLB member urged his fanatic followers to ‘wake up from their deep slumber and take action’.

While elements like Nomani spread such tropes with no proof, painting a target on Hindu men, Muslim men have been rampantly targeting Hindu women. While in this particular case, a Muslim mob attacked a Hindu man, only yesterday (May 29), OpIndia reported three such incidents where Hindu women were mercilessly assaulted, in two cases brutally killed, by Muslim youths for literally no fault of theirs.

Shoaib Jamai spreads lies about Hindu religious texts, claims Apsaras are same as Hoors in Islam

A film titled 72 Hoorain (72 Hoors) depicting the dark face of Islamic terrorism is soon to release. The teaser of the film was launched on 4th June 2023. After the teaser of this film was released, Dr Shoaib Jamai, Chairman of India Muslim Foundation, posted a thread of tweets spreading fake things about Hindu religious texts to whitewash the concept of 72 Hoors in his faith that is Islam.

Hoors (meaning beautiful virgin ladies) promised to Muslim men when they go to Jannat (meaning paradise or heaven) after attaining martyrdom while on the path of Jihad is one of the most alluring baits to join Jihad and unleash Islamic terrorism. The terror masters of various terrorist outfits lure Muslim youths with jannat and 72 hoors to kill infidels (non-Muslims) and wage jihad against them. Trapped in this greed, Muslims become terrorists and then get ready to kill others and themselves. When the film’s teaser calling out this Islamic belief was released, Dr Shoaib Jamai took to Twitter to write false things about Apsaras described in various Hindu scriptures and compared them with Hoors.

However, these are false claims, and while Hindu scripts mention Apsaras, nowhere it is written that Hindus will get 1000 Apsaras. Apsaras are described as celestial maidens associated with the court of God Indra, and they are associated with several important incidents described in Hindu texts. According to the Mahabharata, Apsaras, along with Gandharvas, were engaged in divine tasks, and they worshipped God Brahma through hymns and chants. Nowhere it is mentioned that Apsaras are ‘available’ for ordinary men as prizes, like how Hoors are described.

His claims were debunked by author Anshul Pandey who quoted relevant references and authentic translations of Hindu scriptures to show how Dr Shoaib Jamai spread misinformation about the Hindu holy books.

‘Religious conversions started with Bollywood’: IAS officer Niyaz Khan says that Muslims should become Gaurakshaks

On Thursday, June 8, Niyaz Khan, an IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh cadre claimed that Bollywood is responsible for the religious conversions saying that it started from there.

When asked about religious conversion, the IAS officer told ANI, “Conversion is not right at all.” The conversion started with Bollywood. It is still happening in places where famous movie stars converted Hindus to Islam. Conversion is bad because we elevate one religion above all others and invite others to join their religion while dismissing the other as insignificant; it is fundamentally wrong.”

IAS Niyaz Khan further stressed that India is a democratic country where all religions are treated equally. He went on to say that in an interfaith marriage, neither partner should convert to the other’s religion, but should instead continue to follow their own.

“Our nation is a democratic country, here all religions are equal. How can we claim that after marriage, one should convert to my religion? Both persons should practise their own religions. If there is so much love and it is their compulsion, then both should adhere to their respective religions; I do not believe conversion is suitable,” Khan stated.

According to the IAS official, Bollywood is to blame for religious conversions because people regard movie stars as god-like personalities and role models. He further stated that nudity and graphic scenes in Bollywood films are blatantly destroying the younger generations.

“Bollywood is hundred percent responsible for conversions. Bollywood has been the role model of our country, people even consider artists as god-like figures. People imitate Western culture, resulting in movies that depict nudity and explicit scenes, which are deteriorating our civilisation and ruining the younger generation.”

Notably, Niyaz Khan on Thursday tweeted that Muslims should become “gaurakshaks”, and should not convert anyone to Islam. He also advised Muslims to adopt vegetarianism. Khan further urged his co-religionists to maintain cordial relations with the Brahmins.

“Muslim brothers should also become cow protectors, oppose the change of religion, do not get anyone’s religion changed. Forcible conversion is prohibited in Islam. If you can adopt vegetarianism, it will be a great effort. Although becoming a vegetarian cannot be forced. Muslim brothers should have cordial relations with Brahmins,” Niyaz Khan tweeted in Hindi.

Speaking about this tweet, Khan said sequentially explained the argument behind his ’suggestions’ to his co-religionists. In response to Khan’s first advice to Muslims to become cow protectors, he stated that while many Muslims respect and feed cows, some slaughter them. “The cows will be safe if all Muslims become cow protectors.”

Second, vegetarianism is being practised all throughout the world. It is being adopted to save the environment, which is a good thing to do, but no one can be forced to choose what to eat.

Third, maintain cordial connections with Brahmins. For 3000 years, the Brahmin has guided the country by constantly pursuing the path of truth. Even today, when there is a spiritual programme, lakhs of people assemble. Even now, Brahmins serve as guides. Peace has been maintained in our area due to the blessings of the Brahmins. IAS officer Khan continued, “A Brahmin like Kautilya has been a great example for India.”

He further clarified that he tweets his personal opinions which are not inspired by any sort of politics.

When asked if he is inclined towards Hinduism or plans to become a Hindu, he said that he will remain a Muslim always. He further added that he idolises two people—Prophet Mohammad and Acharya Chanakya.

“Never, I have two idols, Mohammad Sahab is my idol and the other is Great Chanakya. I am in Islam and will remain so. Mohammad Sahab is my idol. It is a different matter that people think something else about me regarding my tweets,” Khan said.

It is notable that IAS Niyaz Khan has authored a book titled “Brahmin: The Great”. Niyaz Khan described Brahmins as highly intelligent in his book. In his book, Khan advised that if Brahmins are given leadership in various domains or appointed as advisors, the country will transform in various capacities.

He claimed that Hinduism is the oldest religion and that the onus to preserve it falls solely on Brahmins. Niyaz Khan had also asserted that only Brahmins have so far saved the Hindu religion.

In August last year, a show-cause notice was issued to IAS Niyaz Khan for his now-deleted tweet on the movie – ‘The Kashmir Files’ suggesting that a film should be made on the suffering of Muslims as well.

On March 18, 2022, IAS officer Niyaz Khan, posted as Deputy Secretary in the Public Works Department (PWD) in Madhya Pradesh, had put out a tweet asking the makers of ‘The Kashmir Files’ to make a movie on killings of Muslims.

He had tweeted, “Kashmir File shows the pain of Brahmins. They should be allowed to live safely in Kashmir with all honour. The producer must also make a movie to show the killings of a large number of Muslims across several states. Muslims are not insects but human beings and citizens of the country.”

Jharkhand: Golu Ansari pretends to be a Hindu, cheats, impregnates a minor Dalit girl and pressures her to convert to Islam, girl commits suicide

In a dreadful case reported from the Khalari region of Jharkhand, a minor girl committed suicide after she was cheated on and impregnated by a person identified as Golu Ansari. The incident is said to be a Love Jihad case as the accused had posed a Hindu person to get in touch with the victim girl.

According to the reports, the victim girl came in contact with the accused who told her that he was a Hindu. He established sexual relations with her and impregnated her. The accused then secretively married the girl and forced her to convert her religion to Islam.

The incident came to the fore after the Leader of the Opposition of Jharkhand, BJP’s Babulal Marandi released a video of the victim and stated that the state had become a breeding ground for Love Jihad type of cases. He requested the state CM to look into the cases and take strict action against the culprits.

“CM Hemant Soren ji, I am telling you again and again, the roots of love jihad have become very strong in Jharkhand and such conspirators are active from Santal to all parts of the state. These people make tribal and Dalit minors victims. Such elements are also being funded internationally. These conspirators are bent on destroying the identity and social fabric of Jharkhand. You have the responsibility of the state, to do your duty, by marking such elements. Take strict action against those who nurture them,” Marandi said.

As per the tweet shared by him, the victim girl has been identified as Pooja and she belongs to the Dalit community. The accused continued to exploit the girl and pressured her to change her region. He also married her by concealing his identity and avoided introducing her to his family.

Marandi said that the girl was under massive pressure for the past several days which she could not handle. She was being pressured to convert her religion and ultimately she decided to end her life.

The accused in the case has been arrested by the police and is being interrogated. He has been charged under relevant sections of the law. Further investigations into the case are underway.
