Vivek Agnihotri says his book-signing event in West Bengal shifted, ‘unsafe Muslim area’ cited as reason: Details

On 20th April 2023, film director Vivek Agnihotri tweeted that his book signing event in West Bengal has been shifted to some other venue. He was reportedly informed that since the original venue was in a ‘Muslim area’ it has to be shifted.

The book signing event was scheduled to take place at the Quest Mall in Kolkata on 20th April 2023, at 5 pm. The venue is now shifted to Starmark Book Shop, South City Mall.

Vivek Agnihotri tweeted, “Kolkata: Attention. This is to inform you that due to security reasons, the venue of the book signing of Urban Naxals has been shifted from Quest Mall to Starmark Book Shop, South City Mall. I’m informed that since Quest Mall is a Muslim Area it’s not safe. The tragedy of modern Bengal.” Vivek Agnihotri has also shared a poster of the event with updated information about the venue.

It is notable that Vivek Agnihotri – author of the book ‘Urban Naxals’ – is known for his film ‘The Kashmir Files’ which depicted the reality of Islamic Jihad in Kashmir causing an exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990. He has been the target of Islamists since the release of this film in 2022.

This shift in the venue of the book-signing event of the director has come after the Quest Mall made it to the news on social media. Some posts claimed that local Muslims had barged into the mall demanding free food and gifts. This incident took place on Sunday, 16th April 2023. On Wednesday, 19th April 2023, a video of the incident also went viral on social media in which many youths were seen sitting on the floors of the mall.

A Twitter user @Singh777 wrote, “WestBengal Caliphate. In Quest Mall at 10:30 am, abt 250 local slum dwellers from a particular religion barged into the mall demanding that they sud be given permission to stay as the city of Kolkata is reeling at 43°C.”

Abhijit Majumdar wrote, “Quest Mall, Kolkata. Built by Sanjiv Goenka’s RPSG group. Home to some of the top luxury brands. Taken over by the ‘faithful’.”

Mall denies claims, says locals had came to mall due to powercut

However, the mall management filed a complaint on Wednesday in the Kolkata police cybercrime cell against the so-called deliberate misrepresentation of this event. Sanjeev Mehra – the vice president of the mall said that power cuts in the surrounding areas caused the local youths to come to the mall on Sunday night. He specified the time of this incident to be around 11:30 pm when the entry for the visitors is closed. Only the customers in the multiplex and restaurant were present inside the mall at that time, he said. He told that the youths wanted to hang out in the air-conditioned mall as there were power cuts in their households.

After one and a half hours, the last show of the film in the multiplex was over and the local youths were escorted out by the security persons of the mall. Mehra also specified that their entry was undesirable but they were entertained on humanitarian grounds.

Sanjeev Mehra said, “The leaders agreed and said it would not be repeated and that was that till a video of that night was circulated on Wednesday with a blatantly false and malicious claim that amounts to scaremongering.”

The terminology ‘Muslim Area’ was recently mainstreamed by none other than West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee who told Hindus not to take the Ram Navami processions through what she called the ‘Muslim areas’. She said, “I want to request those who are taking out the Ram Navami procession, please do but do it peacefully. Kindly avoid Muslim areas as Ramzan is going on. Celebrate peacefully but don’t try to create violence. Don’t get provoked.”

CM Banerjee further stated that the state of West Bengal would take action against Hindus if they are found creating violence. “Some goon has said that on the day of Ram Navami, we will come out with weapons and do a procession.” I will not stop the procession of Ram Navami, but if weapons come out then action will be taken by the government. The month of Ramzan is also going on and during this time if anyone tries to do any wrong thing, he will not be spared. No one has the right to practice riot,” she noted.

There was widespread violence against the Ram Navami processions in West Bengal this year. Especially Howrah in West Bengal witnessed violent riots including stone-pelting and arson.

#AbolishTheMonarchy trends on Twitter as Billionaire King Charles’ coronation expected to cost taxpayers over 100 million pounds

The coronation ceremony of King Charles is set to take place at Westminster Abbey, where Charles III and his wife Camilla will be crowned as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth states on May 6, 2023. King Charles acceded to the throne on 8 September 2022, upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The coronation is anticipated to cost several million pounds, but no formal budget has been announced and the government has not commented on the expected total cost, therefore, the amount of public money spent is unclear. Some estimates say that the cost of Operation Golden Orb, the Coronation’s code name, could range from £50 million to £100 million.

British netizens are posting against the public funding of the ceremony and making their displeasure known on social media by trending #AbolishTheMonarchy. They are highlighting the dire economic circumstances in the country and how people are struggling to make ends meet while the already wealthy and privileged elite is supported at the expense of the exchequer.

A netizen mentioned the amount of wealth accumulated by the King and called it ‘an obscene waste of public funds, especially during a cost of living crisis.’

Another one pointed out the severe economic conditions faced by the people in the country and called the coronation a ‘deranged spectacle.’

Another user suggested putting the ‘obscene pantomime to something more worthwhile.’

Some labeled the ceremony as ‘narcissistic’ because the nurses, paramedics, and teachers are using food banks, whereas, so much money is being spent on the coronation.

Ojay posted a picture of a homeless man begging and accused that ‘the coronation of an unelected billionaire (King Charles) from England who has the hereditary privilege and obscene wealth is forced down our throats.’

A protest rally has also been organised on the day of the coronation and citizens are urged to participate with placards and leaflets.

Notably, King Charles’ total personal wealth is estimated to be £1.815 billion. Much of his private wealth is generated from his and his family’s public duties as working royals, from large hereditary estates that pay out tens of millions of dollars each year to official state presents that have been incorporated into private property.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as the cost of living continues to affect households, the UK economy will contract and perform worse than other major economies. It would shrink by 0.6% in 2023, and not grow as originally expected, according to the organization.

YouGov Poll

Over half of the people in Britain are of the opinion that the Coronation of King Charles should not be paid for by taxpayers, according to the YouGov poll.

YouGov carried out the survey with 51% of the respondents surveyed answering that they didn’t think the government should pay for the ceremony. Nearly a third, 32%, agreed it should, and about 18% were unsure.

The prospect of the ceremony being sponsored by the taxpayers was especially unpopular with the younger generation. Of the 4,246 persons polled, 62% of those aged 18 to 24 opposed government funding of the coronation, while 15% supported it.

The results were more evenly split among those 65 and older, with 44% asserting that it shouldn’t be government-funded, while 43% were in agreement. 25 percent of people aged between the ages of 25 and 49 expressed that the coronation should be remitted by the government, while 55 percent did not, and 46 percent of people aged between 50 to 64 believed that it ought to.

The coronation was described as an ‘expensive pantomime’ and a ‘slap in the face for millions of people struggling with the cost of living crisis’ by Graham Smith, chief executive of the anti-monarchy organisation Republic.

Oliver Dowden, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, has previously stated that there will be no ‘lavishness or excess’ and that the King and the government are ‘mindful of ensuring that there is value for the taxpayer.’

However, he added, “It is a marvelous moment in our history and people would not want a dour scrimping and scraping,” to the Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee at the beginning of the year.

The late Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation cost £912,000 in 1953, which is equivalent to £20.5 million in today’s times, whereas the late King George VI’s coronation cost £454,000, which is equivalent to $24.8 million in 2023, and was the most expensive in the last 300 years.

Bahraini MPs discuss the death of dreaded gangster Atiq Ahmed in parliament, use his murder to say Muslims are being targeted in India

Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead in front of a hospital in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on 15 April. Now, politicians in Bahrain have started targeting the Indian government over the murder by three assailants in police custody. Bahraini members of parliament raised their voices in support of the deceased mafia in the country’s parliament, alleging that the lives of Muslims are in danger in India.

During a discussion on Atiq Ahmed’s murder in Parliament, the Bahraini politicians called it an act of ‘Hindu extremism’, and asked for diplomatic action against India. Videos of the comments made by Bahraini politicians have appeared on social media.

“Former legislator Atiq Ahmed, one month earlier complained that his life was in danger from the police and we saw the assassination that happened in police presence. We have seen these scenarios repeat themselves when it comes to Muslims,” Bahrain MP Jameel Mulla said. However, he didn’t provide any evidence for his allegations or made any mention of Atiq Ahmed’s life as a dreaded underworld figure.

“Many videos show brutal killings of Muslims,” the lawmaker continued, “with police being present defending these barbaric criminals that attack the weak people and demolish mosques.” He again didn’t present any proof or data to back his arbitrary claims.

“My speaker, I would like to go a step further and request all Arab parliaments to condemn what is happening. I also request to summon the ambassador and hand him the condemnation letter, demanding the protection of Muslims in India,” he urged and conveniently ignored the fact that most of Atiq’s victims were Muslims.

He wasn’t the only Bahraini MP to complain about the murder of Atiq Ahmed. Ahmed Qarata, another MP, also raised concerns about the murder of the dreaded gangster Atiq Ahmed. He said that the Indian government must be stopped by Bahrain. “Ateeq Ahmed and his brother were in police custody. They were killed by Hindu extremists in the presence of the police. This is very sad,” he said.

Alleging repeated attacks on Muslims in India, Ahmed Qarata added that Indians in Bahrain and in the Gulf region are being treated respectfully, but Muslims in India are being persecuted. “Please summon the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain and take action immediately to stop the ongoing atrocities and persecution of Indian Muslims by Modi’s Government and Hindutva Terrorists of RSS terror group,” he urged the foreign minister.

Notably, this is not the first time someone has attempted to whitewash Atiq Ahmed’s criminal history. The feared gangster was solely referred to as a politician or MLA by many leftists and Muslim journalists from India and global media outlets like the BBC and Reuters while glossing over the more than 100 FIRs lodged against him for serious crimes like extortion, murder, and looting.

Atiq Ahmed murder investigation: SIT recreates the crime scene at the same place in Prayagraj, watch

On Thursday, April 20, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe the murder of Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf recreated the crime scene as part of its ongoing investigation. Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead while being taken for a medical checkup on 15th April 2023 at around 10:40 pm.

In the video shared by news agency ANI, the police can be seen escorting two men dressed like the deceased mafia don Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed. They are surrounded by media persons and several police officials. Suddenly the two posing media persons approach the gangster brothers and shoot at them. The duo immediately falls to the ground.

Atiq and his brother Ashraf were interacting with media persons when 3 miscreants, who posed as media persons, opened fire at Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed on April 15.

The police had arrested the three from the spot at the time of the incident. Many cases were already registered against the trio. The court sent the three killers of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed to judicial custody for 14 days.

On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh government suspended five police personnel for dereliction of duty after the death of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed.

The Shahganj Police Station’s Station House Officer (SHO), Ashwani Kumar Singh, was suspended, along with two sub-inspectors and two constables. Earlier, Prayagraj Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Narsingh Narayan Singh, who was present during the incident, was transferred.

Meanwhile, according to India Today, the UP Police have also prepared a list of Atiq Ahmed’s properties in Haryana, which the deceased criminal purchased to launder his illicit income. The police are preparing to seize Atiq Ahmed’s properties as the hunt for his wife, Shaista Parveen, in on.

UP Police arrest Rohingya woman and her three daughters for illegally residing in India for 17 years

On Monday, April 17, a Rohingya woman and her three daughters, who came from Bangladesh to India around seventeen years ago, were arrested by Uttar Pradesh police. The Rohingya woman had obtained a fake Aadhaar card, voter card, and other Indian documents. The woman has been identified as Fatima, who is also known as Amina alias Moti, and is recognized by the locals as the wife of one Nisar Ali from Muradabad.

The police arrested Fatima and her three daughters Rihana, Gulshan, and Arshi after receiving a tip from an informer. Moreover, Fatima’s husband Nisar has also been arrested. During police interrogation, Nisar admitted that he knew about Fatima’s illegal entry into India before their marriage.

For the past 6-7 months, all of these people have been residing in a rented house on street number 8 in Moradabad’s Katghar area. Fatima admitted upon questioning that she came from Bangladesh to India 17 years ago illegally. She then began working in a meat factory in Meerut adding that she first met Nisar at this factory.

In order to get Indian citizenship, she claimed to have married a much younger Nisar several years ago. After that, Nisar obtained everyone’s Aadhaar, PAN, and voter identification cards, and opened their bank accounts. Nisar, in all the ways possible, assisted them in becoming citizens. Fatima’s first husband passed away, and then she got married to Nisar. Her first spouse left her with three daughters, all of whom have also been arrested.

Additionally, 10 counterfeit PAN cards, e-labor cards, Aadhaar cards, and other cards have been found on them. A complaint has been filed against the accused under sections 419, 420, 467, and 471 of the IPC and section 14C of the Foreigners Act of 1946, according to Rajesh Kumar Solanki, the in-charge of the Katghar police station. Following the arrest, the police brought all four before the court and then lodged them all in jail.

Varadarajan denies The Wire Marathi has unpaid dues after it discontinued operations

The Marathi wing of the leftist propaganda website ‘The Wire’ closed six months ago. Interestingly, this death of the self-proclaimed free, fair, and fearless journalism went unnoticed for half a year. Today Marathi journalist Nikhil Wagle mentioned the closure of Mrathi Wire 6 months in a now-deleted tweet. In this tweet, Walgle called out Siddharth Varadrajan – the founder of ‘The Wire’ – for not paying compensation to the Marathi journalists who worked in the Marathi wing of ‘The Wire’.

Nikhil Wagle tweeted on 20th April 2023, “Marathi The Wire closed down six months ago because of financial problems. Sujay Shastri and Nitin Brahme, two talented journalists, were jobless. They were not even paid due compensation. Not expected from Siddharth Varadarajan.”

However, Nikhil Wagle deleted this tweet after some time. He added another tweet on his timeline as an explanation for deleting this tweet. In this explanatory tweet, Nikhil Wagle wrote, “I have been requested to delete the tweet about Marathi The Wire. In good faith, I am deleting it. But facts remain the same. The Wire has treated its Marathi edition with contempt. Regional publications are always treated like this.”

Interestingly, one Marathi Twitter user Amol Kale replied to Nikhil Wagle and wrote, “Speak in Marathi, don’t flaunt English.” After some time, Nikhil Wagle deleted this explanatory tweet too.

The Marathi version of ‘The Wire’ started in 2017 with the intent to harness the benefits of the fertile land of progressive Maharashtra where the so-called renaissance took place. With parties like the Nationalist Congress Party and Indian National Congress normalising the use of three magical words ‘Phule-Shahu-Ambedkar’ to unnecessarily bash upper caste Hindus in the state under the garb of preaching progressive thoughts, The Wire found this state best suited for pushing their agenda of utilizing faultlines in the Hindu community. The attempt, however, miserably failed.

The prime reason behind the failure is that the so-called progressive movement in Maharashtra has aligned itself with the direction taken by Sharad Pawar. For all practical purposes, progressive thought in Maharashtra translates into a quasi-Bahujanism that surprisingly puts Maratha – a Kshatriya upper caste – at the core of its beneficiaries and decision-makers. Therefore, liberal Marathi readers often prefer portals like Bol Bhidu, Saheb, etc. and portals of noted Marathi newspapers like Loksatta, Maharashtra Times, and Divya Marathi.

In non-conventional digital news media like YouTube channels, veteran Marathi journalist Bhau Torsekar is breaking a new record in viewership and subscriptions every other fortnight. Another YouTube channel ‘The Analyser’ run by Sushil Kulkarni and Shrikant Umrikar has also received a huge response in the Marathi state.

The Wire Marathi hardly succeeded in its purpose as people in Maharashtra outright rejected the leftist shades of liberal thoughts and embraced Hindutva long back in 2014. The Wire Marathi, therefore, could not get much traction in its five years of operation. Portals like BBC Marathi were enough to cater to elite leftist Marathi readers. The anti-Modi sentiment in Maharashtra’s liberal leftists is also pleased by occasional long marches by farmers’ organizations. The leftist movement in Maharashtra, in fact, did not pay attention to The Wire Marathi. The financial crisis quoted by Nikhil Wagle also implies towards lack of readership and acceptance low enough to cause a survival threat in absence of revenues generated by web traffic.

OpIndia also mailed Siddharth Varadarajan to know more about the truth in the allegation about non-payment of dues to the journalists after the Marathi outfit of ‘The Wire’ was shut down allegedly due to a financial crisis. Siddharth Varadarajan did not reply to the mail. It is notable that many liberal Marathi people might not be aware of The Wire Marathi shutting down. Also, there are many others who did not know that it even existed. With the people of Maharashtra supporting the Hindutva ideology on a large scale, it is obvious that ‘The Wire Marathi’ died an unnoticed death.

Update: The Wire’s Founding Editor Siddharth Varadarajan has since responded to OpIndia’s email denying the allegations. His email is reproduced verbatim for fairness here:

“There is no grain of truth in the allegation that The wire marathi’s employees were not paid their dues. You need to retract your story which I just read, after which I saw this email.”

Cheetahs reintroduced from Namibia, South Africa to India now have official names, here is what they are called

0

On Thursday, the Cheetahs that were relocated from Nambia and South Africa to India’s Kuno National Park were given new names by the Center. A competition was organized to propose names for the Cheetahs by the Indian government and the new names were selected out of 11565 entries today.

The Cheetahs will now be called as Aasha, Pavan, Nabha, Jwala, Gaurav, Shaurya, Dhatri, Daksha, Nirva, Vayu, Agni, Gamini, Tejas, Veera, Suraj, Dheera, Uday, Prabhas and Pavak. In a novel initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2022 had urged the citizens to come with suggestions for cheetahs reintroduced from Namibia and South Africa to India. The Centre intended to create awareness among the general public about Project Cheetah.

Reportedly, the names were selected after a competition was held on the government platform from September 26 to October 31. The said names were chosen from the 11565 entries. The video of the incident was shared by Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change who also congratulated the winners for suggesting the names.

“Cheetahs named! On 25th September 2022, PM during his Mann Ki Baat address asked people to suggest names for cheetahs reintroduced from Namibia and South Africa. A competition was thus organised. Happy to share the names of our cheetahs and the winners,” he tweeted sharing a 1 minute video of the Cheetahs.

On September 17, 2022, eight cheetahs were brought from Namibia to India and released in Kuno National Park by India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in a historic first wild-to-wild intercontinental relocation. Following the obligatory quarantine time, the cheetahs were gradually allowed into the bigger habitat.

Later on February 18, 2023, twelve more (7 males and 5 females) cheetahs were brought from South Africa to India. A delegation of cheetah experts, veterinarians and senior officials also accompanied the cheetahs during the transcontinental translocation exercise.

Cheetahs have become extinct in India. The last three cheetahs in India were shot in the Sal (Shorea robusta) woods of Koriya District, Chhattisgarh State, in 1947. The major reasons for the cheetah’s extinction in India were large-scale capture of animals from the wild for coursing, bounty, and sport hunting, substantial habitat modification, and a concomitant fall in prey base. Cheetahs were declared extinct in India in 1952.

Following this, efforts had started to reintroduce Cheetahs from other countries. However, the efforts didn’t yield results for decades. But after renewed efforts under the Narendra Modi government, the project saw success and 8 cheetahs were introduced last year in India.

The objective of the cheetah introduction project in India is to create a healthy cheetah metapopulation that would support the cheetah’s global conservation efforts, allow it to fulfil its functional role as a top predator, and create space for the cheetah to spread outside of its historic range.

As reported earlier, yearly 10-12 cheetahs are expected to be brought from African countries for the next 5 years at least.

Liberal ecosystem suffers heartburn as Surat Court dismisses Rahul Gandhi’s plea in Modi surname defamation case

The Surat Sessions Court on Thursday (April 20) dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s plea for suspending his 2 years sentence in the ‘Modi surname’ case. The two years punishment given upon his conviction still stands following this dismissal and he continues to be disqualified as an MP.

The case pertains to his speech during the run-up to the 2019 elections, when Rahul Gandhi said, “Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Narendra Modi… how come they all have Modi as a common surname? How come all thieves have Modi as a common surname?”

As expected, an array of leftists, secular ‘journalists’ and Congress sycophants descended on Twitter to complain about the judgement, some even going to the extent of casting aspersion on Judge Robin Paul Mogera, who heard Rahul Gandhi’s appeal.

Saba Naqvi suffered major heartburn as soon as the news of the Gandhi scion not getting relief from the Surat Court became public. Responding to the news posted by Live Law, she lamented, “Both ridiculous and vicious at the same time.”

Alleged journalist Swati Chaturvedi was another one who also appeared visibly disturbed by the news. She, too, lashed out, claiming that the judgement was on expected lines.

Another person who had a severe meltdown was Congress sympathiser Pooja Tripathi who shared similar sentiments calling the judgement, “Ridiculous, atrocious & Vicious!”

“Rape convicts, Murderers are allowed to roam free but Rahul Gandhi can’t as he speaks the truth.. Gujarat setting up an example how to become rotten society within democracy..,” bemoaned Congress loyalist Milind Gavandi.

The Wire journalist Kaushik Raj went on to cast doubts at the Surat Sessions Court’s verdict and hoped that the higher courts could see through the ‘farce.’

Many other Congress sycophants went as far as to cast aspersions at the court and the judge who pronounced the verdict today. They insinuated that since the court is based in BJP-ruled Gujarat, the ruling was on expected lines.

Crying political vendetta, some hinted that Judge Robin Paul Mogera, who heard Rahul Gandhi’s appeal in a Surat court in the Modi surname defamation case, was biased as he was Union home minister Amit Shah’s lawyer in the Tulsi Prajapati encounter case of 2006.

Notably, during the hearing, the Gandhi-scion Rahul Gandhi denied making any defamatory remarks about people with “Modi” surname. According to Desh Gujarat, a lawyer has said that Rahul Gandhi responded to every question with, “I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know”.

When the court asked if he had said all people with Modi surname were thieves, Gandhi claimed he never said such words.

In March this year, a Surat court found him guilty in the criminal defamation case. A case was filed against Rahul Gandhi by Gujarat BJP leader Purnesh Modi for making derogatory comments against the Modi community.

TMC’s Mahua Moitra is blocking everyone who calls her ‘Mahua Lars Brorson’, read why

Trinamool Congress leader and a Member of Parliament representing the Krishnanagar constituency, Mahua Moitra is known for her unhinged rants against her political opponents. Recently, after the killing of Umesh Pal murder accused Asad Ahmed and Mohammad Ghulam in a police encounter on April 13, Mahua Moitra took a jibe a Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by calling him by his birth name — Ajay Singh Bisht. Asad Ahmed was the son of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, who was killed in police custody by three assailants two days later.

While addressing a press conference Mahua Moitra said that she prefers to call people by their real names as she said that “Honourable chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Mr. Ajay Bisht had himself said gaadi palat jati hai (the car overturns)”, Mahua then goes on to say that “his (Yogi Adityanath) real name is Ajay Bisht although he calls himself a Yogi.”

In a tweet attacking CM Yogi and the UP Police over the killing of Atiq and Ashraf Ahmed, Mahua Moitra again addressed CM Yogi as Ajay Bisht, the name he had before he took the vows of a Sanyasi.

“So basically Ajay Bisht & @Uppolice found 3 men who very conveniently have “no family connections” to kill Atiq & his brother. That’s how all terrorist organizations recruit their hitmen btw,” Moitra tweeted.

Interestingly, while TMC’s Mahua Moitra prefers to call people by their ‘real name’, she was rather upset when a Twitter user called her by her ‘real name’ Mahua Moitra Lars Brorson. As a Twitter user named ‘Hims’ tweeted, “You should calm down Mahua Moitra Lars Brorsan,” the TMC leader blocked him.

Following this, the Twitter user called out Mahua Moitra for her ‘hypocrisy’ as she calls CM Yogi Adityanath by his pre-renunciation name but blocks people when they call her by her past name.

“So the hypocrisy Queen @MahuaMoitra blocked me and ran with her tail nicely tucked in when I called her with her past name MAHUA LARS BRORSON but this bigot has the audacity to call @myogiadityanath with hai pre-renunciation name and sees nothing wrong in it. Why are these TMC doormats such hypocrites @TVMohandasPai?,” Hims tweeted.

Following this, many netizens started calling Mahua Moitra by her past name ‘Mahua Moitra Lars Brorson’. It is notable here that Mahua Moitra was married to a Danish financier Lars Brorson and resided with him in Scandinavia. Though not much is known about their relationship, the duo got married in 2002, however, were later divorced.

After Twitter users started to use her previous name, she started to block them. Many users tweeted that they were blocked by her after they used the name Mahua Moitra Lars Brorson.

After parting ways with her husband Lars Brorson, Mahua chose to go by her maiden name. While Mahua Moitra chooses to go by her maiden name, Yogi Adityanath, having renounced material life by becoming a Sanyasi, and also being a revered Saint of the Nath Sampradaya as well as the Mahant of Gorakhnath Muth, one of the most important Temples of the sect, ceased to go by the name given to him at his birth and is known as Yogi Adityanath.

Mahua Moitra, who ‘prefers’ to call people by their real name needs to understand that in the sacred traditions of Hindu Dharma, it is mandated that once a person takes the vows of a Sanyasi, he ceases to be the individual he was until that moment. A Sanyasi is a Dwij which means twice-born, once is the biological birth and the spiritual rebirth. A Sanyasi takes a new name, shreds all ties with his family, and dedicates the remainder of his life to the Gods above and Dharma. So in this context, Yogi Adityanath is the one true ‘real name’ of the Sanyasi she chooses to call by his birth name merely due to political and ideological differences. The repeated use of the name Ajay Bisht to address Yogi Adityanath is symptomatic to Hinduphobia and blatant disrespect of the Sanyas tradition in the Hindu Dharma.

Several political leaders and their supporters often argue that if Yogi Adityanath is a Sanyasi, what is he doing in politics, etc? To such questions CM Yogi had in an interview with AajTak in 2021, had said that he is a ‘Karmayogi’.

According to Lord Shri Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, a “Karmayogi” is someone who practices karma yoga and works relentlessly to accomplish their obligations externally while remaining detached from them on the inside. A Karmayogi performs his duties without being attached to the rewards of his karma, as described in this Shloka from the Bhagavad Gita, chapter 3, verse 7

yas tvindriyāṇi manasā niyamyārabhate ’rjuna

karmendriyaiḥ karma-yogam asaktaḥ sa viśhiṣhyate||

The TMC MP should also be mindful that respect is a two-way street; even though she may continue to hold political opposition to the policies of the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, who is a democratically elected public representative, if she wants to be addressed by her real name, she should also respect Yogi Adityanath’s name and identity as a saint of the Nath Sampradaya and a Sanyasi.

Yo Yo Honey Singh lands in legal trouble, accused of kidnapping and assaulting Festivina Music Festival owner in Mumbai

Popular singer Yo Yo Honey Singh is once again in the news, but this time for the wrong reason. He has been charged with abducting and assaulting an event manager. The owner of an event company, Vivek Raman, has lodged an FIR against Honey Singh and others at the BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) police station in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Vivek Raman has complained that he was abducted, kept captive and assaulted by the musician-singer and his associates. Mumbai Police confirmed that Vivek Raman has filed a complaint against Honey Singh and others.

Vivek Raman is the owner of the Festivina Music Festival, and he had planned a programme by Honey Singh at BKC in Mumbai. The music festival titled Yo Yo Honey Singh 3.0 by Festivina was to be held at MMRDA Grounds in BKC, which was scheduled to take place on April 15th. But later the event was postponed due to some financial issues.

Raman said that on 15 April, when he reached the venue, he had arguments with some vendors over non-payment. Raman added that he was expecting payment from the event’s ticket-selling partner, but didn’t receive it on time. As a result, he cancelled the event and informed everyone abut the same.

He claimed that Honey Singh and his crew got very upset and angry over the cancellation of the show. Outraged by this, the musician and his associates abducted and thrashed him while keeping him hostage at the JW Marriott hotel in Sahar, Mumbai, as per the complaint. He demanded the arrest of Yo Yo Honey Singh and his aides in his complaint.

“I was physically assaulted, kidnapped, and intimidated by Yo Yo Honey Singh and his crew members: Rohit Chhabra, Akshat Jaiswal, Rahul Jaiswal, Inderjit Sunil, Nikhil, Arvinder Kler, Arun Kumar, and Akshay Mehra. I was kidnapped and taken by a white Fortuner car from MMRDA, BKC to JW Marriott, Sahar, Mumbai by the said persons and physically assaulted by fists, blows, and kicking, and badly hurt at JW Marriott, Sahar, and Mumbai. I was wrongfully and illegally restrained by JW Marriott, Sahar, Mumbai, for payment of bills for a period of 2 days,” Raman stated in his complaint to the police.

Vivek Raman added that after this, he called the vendors and others and proceeded to organise the music concert.

The BKC police have not yet registered an FIR in the case and are investigating the matter. “We have just received the complaint and are verifying the allegations made in it. No FIR has been registered against anyone yet,” an officer at the BKC police station said.

Yo Yo Honey Singh has not responded to the allegations yet.

The news came a day after it was reported that the Bollywood star and his actor-model girlfriend Tina Thadani had broken up. They reportedly split up just a few days ago and are currently residing apart. The duo has also unfollowed each other on social media and deleted pictures with each other. However, the reason behind their break up is not known as of now.

In December of last year, Honey Singh revealed their relationship during an event in Delhi. He disclosed how Tina came up with the title when he shared that he had just released a new album called 3.0. He stated, “Meri girlfriend baithi hai Tina. Isne mujhe ye naam dia hai. Isne bola ki you are Honey 3.0,” (My girlfriend Tina is sitting here. She has given me this name, Honey 3.0) pointing out at her in the audience.

Honey Singh is currently in the spotlight with his album 3.0 and is yet to give any response to the accusation against him.
