Make India Make: With Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, India can enter the take-off stage of national economic growth

“If you don’t rock the boat, folks, guess who’s going to do it? Your competitors.” —Todd Hockenberry

Today India as a nation-state is looking upwards, there is a positive mood, and the economy is moving Northwards. Stock markets are good and GDP growth is getting a thumbs up from economists and rating organizations across the world. We have a very healthy FOREX reserve. We have done a great job in IT, ITES, like BPO and made billions in the entire service sector vertical.

The service sector is a low-hanging fruit according to me. For instance, to launch a software development venture you do not require acres of land, heavy-duty machines, lots of free running supply of water, raw material, and electricity round the clock to run heavy-duty plants and not a huge labour force or even logistics required for manufacturing and distribution. This much is required to make even ancillary items like pistons or pumps. For an IT company, a few thousand square feet of built-up area, a few computers, bandwidth and some tech geeks and a contract to develop a system can get you going. A similar story is for ITES-skewed companies like BPO or digital marketing.

We missed out on the first and second industrial revolutions. The first one was in Europe between the mid-18th and mid-19th centuries when India was under the British East India Company. The Second Industrial Revolution occurred in the 20th century, but then India was ruled by the British whose only aim was to use India as a raw materials mine and as a market for finished British industrial goods. In fact, a major spin-off of this was to keep Indians in awe of their British rulers who produced goods like cars, weapons, cutlery crockery, and several fancy products including perfumes and binoculars and we got bugged with ‘imported hai na?’ syndrome. We were dying for Hawaii chappals till the late sixties, imported frying pans, toasters, mixers, cutlery, and bone china. An imported shampoo or aftershave lotion was a prized possession. All cars were imported and we were going gaga over Triumph and BSA motorbikes and brands like Jeeps, Plymouth, impalas, Hillman, Vauxhall, MG, some British some American. People went abroad only to shop for ‘imported ‘goods. Then there was a tsunami of Japanese brands like Kawasaki, Honda and Sony. We bought comforters and table mats from Dubai! We were going crazy and we were kept starved- I don’t know why?

After independence, we failed to industrialize, unlike our East Asian counterparts. We chose a Soviet-style planned economy that was protectionist in nature. After Independence, Nehru, our PM for more than 15 years, attempted an industrial revolution via the state. He didn’t trust private entrepreneurs, so he made the state the entrepreneur, and not surprisingly, he failed. Even then the government did not let go of its stranglehold on the industry with fixed Quota Raj fixation. British Raj left after 200 years and on came the self-imposed Quota Raj.

If you want to take just one country on the same timeline as ours, it would be South Korea which was an underdeveloped, agrarian economy that depended heavily on foreign aid. It was governed for almost three decades by a military government with an iron hand yet a pragmatic governance model to improve the economy. South Korean economy grew at an average annual rate of nearly 9 percent, and per capita income increased more than a hundredfold. South Korea was transformed into an industrial powerhouse with a highly skilled labour force. Hyundai and KIA are household names today in India.

We have missed the bus in a big way just because of our wrong policies. Since providing service and making a buck is a lot easier there is hardly any enthusiasm of even neo-entrepreneurs for manufacturing where you got to literally dirty your hands and sweat it out.

I was giving a motivational talk at a big Indian software company in Kolkata almost fifteen years back and asked how many were Computer science engineers in the audience. I was not surprised that hardly 5% were from computer science and the rest were rubber technologists, civil engineers, electrical, mechanical and even chemical and textile engineers. They all were direct beneficiaries of low-hanging apples.

You can’t create an industrial base in a jiffy. You need trained manpower, designers and right-fit managers. No wonder our PM has emphasized on skill India to train artisans who are the backbone of any industry. Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) are a huge infrastructure for training manpower but since there was very little push for manufacturing; these lost their sheen and shine. There are nearly 15,000 ITIs and if utilized properly can become a great input for our industry.

Today, India is growing at 9% and its GDP is about to touch the $3 trillion mark. With strong global tailwinds in the future, India can embrace industrialization and innovation, and finally, enter what American economist Walt Rostov has termed the takeoff stage of national economic growth.

The Second World War created a massive manufacturing Industry

The two world wars also gave a fillip to the Industrialisation of the western powers. Mobilizing the economy for Second World War finally cured the depression in the US which had had its ripple effect across major western countries too. Millions of men and women joined the armed forces, and even larger numbers went to work in well-paying defence jobs especially manufacturing. World War Two affected the world and the United States profoundly; it continues to influence us even today. War was not fought with software, but with solid hardware and manpower where 15 million perished over six year’s war.

Let me give some figures of hardware manufactured before and during the war for you to absorb and appreciate the scale and speed of manufacturing.

Can you believe that a total of 809,693 (more than 8 lakh) aircraft were produced across all the countries including US, Russia and UK? Forty percent were produced by America! Germans produced 119,371 aircraft and America was at number one with 324,750, almost three times that of Hitler’s Germany.

Russians had a total of Tanks and Self Propelled Guns (SPG) 131,700 in number.

US losses- 10,000 tanks/SPGs destroyed or lost.

A glimpse of other vehicles used by Americans in the war are:-

Dodge one tons 382,350 produced by US. Willey jeep WW II total: 647,925 by US. Harley Davidson Motorcycles, the largest recipient was the Soviet Union, which was sold over 30,000 Motorcycles. 572,500 Large Cargo trucks 2.5 tons by US.

Bhag India Bhag

We have no time to waste.

The above gives enough idea of what we missed. We participated in the war and lost our men but used someone else’s equipment and weapons. 87,000 military men from the Indian Army died and 3 million Indian civilians lost their lives.

We need to cover a lot of lost opportunities and time.

Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Remember the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

‘There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.

William Shakespeare

In an uncertain world, where geopolitics is changing rapidly, supply chains are deliberately being disrupted, these material deficits can become a geopolitical liability for any nation because manufacturers can shut off access to the most basic of goods. Even computer chips can stall another major industry. Manufacturing does not only increase productivity and enhance security, but it also creates jobs and lowers inequality. For these reasons, India has recently embarked on a reindustrialization program.

Silver lining in the dark cloud

We are close to a 3 trillion dollar economy and the fifth largest in the world. We have also started thinking big which is very important. There is a top-down push for industrialisation by the government. Incentives and policy changes are being done at a rapid pace.

The advantage one can take is that since these are already developed technologies we need not reinvent the wheel in most cases. Yes we need to do a lot of In-house R&D which takes time. You can telescope the efforts and do parallel processing to save time but still one needs time.

We need not go to war to go for industrialization like the West had to.

There is a hilarious anecdote that fits this situation.

A Chinese home caught fire and unfortunately, a few pigs were left inside. When the fire was extinguished they found roasted pigs and for the first time tasted roasted pig meat. Next time whenever they wanted a roasted pig, they locked it in the house and set the house on fire!

We need to produce indigenously, but we could take off at a much higher learning curve if we tie up smartly with those who are ahead of the curve. It has to be vertical-specific. As the Railway minister says that Vande Bharat trains are indigenously made and designed at home.

The Vande Bharat Express is an Indian semi-high-speed intercity train which is operated by the Indian Railways only on four prominent routes as of October 2022, one from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, the second one from New Delhi to Varanasi, third one is from Gandhinagar to Mumbai Central, and the fourth one is from New Delhi to Una. A fifth train on the Chennai- Bengaluru- Mysuru route will be launched next month. It was designed and manufactured by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) at Perambur, Chennai under the Indian government’s Make in India initiative. The unit cost of the first rake was estimated at ₹100 crore, although it is expected to go down with subsequent production. At the original price, it is estimated to be 40% cheaper than a similar train imported from Europe. The train was launched on 15 February 2019.

Defence expo 2022

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s biggest-ever Defense Expo showcasing the products of Indian firms in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on 19 Oct 22. He said the event will strengthen the world’s faith in India’s business skills.

“In the world, there is a monopoly of few countries. But India has made its own place now. Several countries are showing interest in Indian industries,” he said. “Over 1,300 exhibitors, including 100 start-ups, are taking part. There are foreign companies that have investments in Indian companies. In a first, over 450 MoUs and agreements are being signed,” PM Modi added.

“The country will need the contribution of youths to grow in the field of space technology. This opportunity will be like a window to the future for the youth.” He said that in the last 5 years, the nation’s defense exports have increased by 8 times.

“We are supplying defence products to over 75 countries now. Several countries are showing interest in Indian fighter jets. We are supplying defence goods to America, Israel, and many other countries. Brahmos is the best example. Brahmos is favourite among several countries.”

Another feather in the cap

Pune-based defence major Kalyani Group has informed that it would set up the world’s largest artillery manufacturing facility in India, producing one gun per day.

“We are in the process of setting up the world’s largest artillery manufacturing capacity. In three years from now, we will produce one gun per day,” said Baba Kalyani, Chairman of Kalyani Group, the parent of Bharat Forge Limited.

The group currently produces about six guns in 30 days at present. “The capital investment has already been done. Now we need to increase the volumes,” said Kalyani at the DefExpo 2022 at Gandhinagar on Tuesday.

Stating that the group has the technology to produce lighter guns with the same firepower as heavy ones, Kalyani stated that the trend for ‘shoot-and-scoot’ guns is growing globally. “In future Indian armed forces may go for lighter guns such as mounted guns etc. And we have the technology that nobody else has today,” said Kalyani.

The tide has surely turned. Better- we have turned the tide.

Again I get offended by silly remarks of the naysayers. Whenever there is a technical glitch which can be with a toilette flush too at your home, they make noise and are happy as they can find faults with the make in India initiative.

I just ignore them.

“Think big and don’t listen to people who tell you it can’t be done. Life’s too short to think small.”

Double, rather, triple jeopardy of Indian origin, brown skinned, Hindu man Rishi Sunak as UK Prime Minister

The 2004 Democractic Party nominee for the Presidential elections in the USA had near identical background as Rishi Sunak – born in a wealthy upper middle class family, went to costly boarding schools, married to a foreign born lady who was heir to great wealth – in fact the amount was nearly similar at about US$750 million. He was an “altar boy”, quite religious Catholic, even thought of becoming a priest! He used to carry rosary and a prayer book with him.

You can Google liberal media coverage of his candidacy and endorsement by editorial boards like that of NY Times. NO reference about his elitist background or his trophy wife or their great wealth. NO snide remarks about his religious beliefs or adherence to rituals. In fact, John Kerry led on newspaper endorsements but lost the election to President Bush. Pity that voters elect the President in USA, or the Prime Minister in India, not corrupt Lutyens elites.

In fact, why go back to 2004, look at corrupt durbari media coverage of Rahul Gandhi or his Papa – do you see any mention of his going to costly schools and overseas for basic degrees? We are told by bootlicking serfs posing as journalists that his great grandpa Nehru brought higher education to India that until then only knew how to make cowpats. Obviously that education was not good enough for shehzade.

In fact, Rishi is not super wealthy, but his wife is, exactly like Kerry. TV comedians used to mock them as Cash and Kerry. But that fact is conveniently blurred and if you read most leftist media coverage, you may think Rishi is the one that is rich!

It should be clear to anyone that Rishi Sunak suffers from double or even triple jeopardy – he is not just a rightwing conservative but also a dark skinned Hindu that is not ashamed of his legacy and faith. That makes him ‘wajib-al-qatl’ as per the Stalinist fringe left-Islamist jihadi fanatics continuum, as well as assorted Lutyens coolies of fascist looter dynasts that passes for liberals in today’s world. (I have written about them elsewhere).

Guardian’s Islamist propaganda journalist of Leicester infamy, Aina Khan, posted a picture of shoes and sandals left outside the doors of 10 Downing – and it ‘cracked her up’. Can you imagine her or any mainstream journalist mocking ham sandwiches or the staple British breakfast bacon banned in 10 Downing if there’s a Muslim PM? What will happen if you do? You will cancelled. Aina doesn’t even want others to call her Islamist despite such track record.

Abuse of Hindus is not just an optional add-on for liberals, it is a compulsory pre-qualification and an entrance test.

In fact, we often don’t even need others to abuse. One SM genius even posted that she was “raised a heathen” but managed to overcome it, proudly treating a pejorative as a trophy. If you ever wonder how an island of 30m could enslave India, such brown noses and lickspittles provide the answer. I always consider Muslims of the subcontinent as far superior in this respect. Subject only to extremely rare exceptions, they neither engage in self-abuse nor sacrifice their self-respect and faith to lick a few dollars out of the white man’s orifice.

Just read the tweets of elite blue-tick scholar (like Baghdadi?) Ayesha Siddiqua – the consistent labelling of Sunak as “Hindutva” with zero evidence other than his visiting temples. Much worse abuse on Rishi as ‘cow piss drinker’ etc by other fanatic barbaric animals on SM followed Ayesha’s snide remarks about ‘cow temple’. She never bothered to condemn them while every Hindu is expected to hold “Ashamed” placards whenever some anonymous troll says something.

Ayesha or Aina can abuse Hinduism in this way because they are confident about leftist-Islamist woke control over Twitter and SM and MSM in general. Just try criticising Islam and see what happens. She would have lost her blue tick, academic posts and banned from all SM and hiding in fear of life like Nupur Sharma. Ayesha or Aina can instead continue to pour venom on any observant Hindu conveniently labelled Hindutva and further the left-Islamist pogrom on Hinduism in innovative ways. One of them may even get a Padma award if dynastic dacoity returns to power in India propped up by Stalinists.

Leftist mainstreaming of anti-Hindu hate and jihadist fanaticism is a loss for Islamist Pakistanis who could have easily embraced Sunak as their own. But they prefer to wallow in vile abuse, confident that leftist ‘liberals’ will back them up with their own sophisticated abuse and ‘crack up’ at Hinduphobic hate wrapped up as jokes.

We must understand how Western media in general and liberal media in particular works to mainstream anti-Hindu hate and cover it up in various ways. Naturally the corrupt brown coolie ecosystem takes the cue and runs with it because cash and patronage come with such licking.

If a right winger like Bobby Jindal, converted from Hindu to Christian wears his religion on his sleeve and talks about it at every turn, he will be merely abused for being right but never for being a Christian. If he is white Christian woke leftist, he can be as religious as he wants – like Biden often is. He will never be questioned either for his skin colour or his faith or his beliefs. In fact, he will never be questioned on anything – be it mental capacity to govern, track record, performance, groping or son’s corruption. That is liberalism.

Your Hindu identity is not a handicap once you embrace leftist politics – that is only provided you keep it a dark secret, and not talk about it. Or be agnostic. Like Pramila Jayapal. If you fail that test, you can open to abuse on faith. Just see UK Labour MP Navendhu Mishra’s tweet.

A ready reckoner

In fact, the myriad combinations of colour, faith and politics makes the landscape a bit tricky for any wannabe politician. Let us put it in a simple table so it is easy to understand!

SkinPoliticsFaithResultSample
WhiteRightChristianNutjobTrump
WhiteLeftChristianHero! All boxes check!Biden

This table can come in handy if and when you try to enter politics with a handicap – of either skin colour or faith!

My take

In case you are curious, my own take on Rishi’s election is let’s not get too excited. I would do no better than agree with Singapore’s ex-bureaucrat Bilahari Kausikan – remember Rishi was not even elected by grassroot Tories – it was just the elite group that didn’t want another election. And not too long ago they rejected him in favour of a “white fool” (not my words, Kausikan’s)

Furthermore, I sincerely believe India is better off with a pro-India white PM/President at the Oval office or Downing St., not an ethnic Indian who has to constantly watch his back, be careful not to be seen pro-India and therefore go the extra mile to appear anti-India. Especially if he is a right-wing Hindu.

Two cheers Rishi!

10 Kashmiri Pandit families leave village in Shopian amid targeted terror attacks, shift to Jammu

0

On Tuesday, around 10 Kashmiri Pandit families comprising 35 to 40 members left their residences in Choudharygund village of Shopian district in south Kashmir and shifted to Jammu after terrorists recently carried out several targeted killings in the area. The Kashmiri Pandits left their residences out of fear and settled in Jammu.

According to the reports, the current terrorist attacks have generated a fear psychosis among the Pandits who continued to stay in Kashmir after the most terrible time of terrorism in the 1990s. “Ten families comprising 35 to 40 Kashmiri Pandits have migrated out of our village due to the fear psychosis”, confirmed a resident of Choudharygund village. He also said that he was issued death threats by the terrorist and were forced to leave the place.

In another incident of targeted killing, terrorists recently assassinated Kashmiri Pandit Puran Krishan Bhat outside his ancestral home in Choudharygund village, Shopian district, on October 15. Days after that, Monish Kumar and Ram Sagar were also murdered in a grenade assault by terrorists. The duo was killed while they were sleeping in their rented home in Shopian on October 18.

The terrified residents of Choudharygund village further stated that the village has now become empty as all the Kashmiri Pandits have been forced to move out of the locality. “The situation is not conducive for us to live in the Kashmir valley. We live in fear due to the killings. There is no security for us”, another villager said.

Reports further quoted the villagers alleging that they were not provided with any police protection. The villagers said that they had repeatedly sought protection but the police post was set up away from their village. The villagers had to leave everything in their houses back in the village, including their recent harvest of apple, and are now staying with their relatives in Jammu.

As Rishi Sunak becomes PM of the UK, his statement on grooming gangs goes viral, had vowed not to let ‘political correctness’ stand in the way

0

On October 25, British MP and leader of the Conservative party Rishi Sunak was appointed the country’s Prime Minister by Prince Charles III. With him becoming the PM, a statement on grooming gangs he gave in August 2022 has gone viral. PM Sunak, during an exclusive interview with GB News, had said that people in the UK were scared of calling out grooming gangs because of political correctness.

During the interview, PM Sunak outlined how he would tackle the problem of grooming gangs in the UK. Notably, several reports of vulnerable minor girls being sexually exploited have continued to surface in towns like Rotherham, Telford and Oldham in the last few years. Investigations revealed that police and councils did not act appropriately in time and failed to protect the children from the grooming gangs.

PM Sunak called it a ‘horrific crime’ and vowed to tackle the problem as a priority if he was made Prime Minister.

In the interview with Esther McVey and Philip Davies, when he was asked if he had something planned to tackle the problem of grooming gangs just like the policy he had talked about tackling extremism, PM Sunak said the authorities had not been focused on the issue.

He said, “I have two young girls who are nine and eleven. I think for too long, we just haven’t focused on this issue. It’s a horrific crime. A horrific crime affecting not just girls in a few places, it’s far more pervasive across the country than we all realise. We all know the reason that people don’t focus on it is because of political correctness. They are scared of calling out the fact that there is a particular group of people who are perpetuating these crimes. I think that’s wrong, and I want to change it.”

He added that if he becomes the Prime Minister, he will form a new task force at the National Crime Agency that would focus on the problem of grooming gangs. He added, “We will have a requirement for police forces everywhere to prioritise this. I want to make sure that all police forces record the ethnicity of those involved, which currently is not done because people don’t want to do that. I want to create a brand new life sentence for those involved in grooming, with very limited options for parole.”

He said, “A Conservative government should not be letting political correctness stand in the way of keeping people safe.”

The problem of grooming gangs in the UK

In recent years, there have been several reports of vulnerable young girls, especially minors, being exploited by grooming gangs across the country. In October this year, it was reported that Omar, Khalid, Jameel and 21 others were charged with raping a minor girl for four years in Bradford. These grooming gangs typically consist of Pakistani Muslim men, the reason why the mainstream media and even the authorities try to keep them hushed up.

The sexual offences against the minor continued for four years, between 2007 and 2011. The accused in the crime were identified as Omat Taj (35), Pasquale Massimo (40), Khazer Hussain (41), Syed Shabir (39), Abbas Hussain (41), Mussadaq Hussain (37), Amjad Hussain )36), Syed Hassan Basharat (33), Hannan Miah (37), Burhan Uddin Ali (36), Abdul Basith (40), Asif Budhia (39), Shazad Khadam (38), Ibrahim Ali (35), Ashfaq Ahmed (34), Aftab Ahmed (33), Yousaf Bhatti (36), Anwar Aziz (32), Shahinul Haq (35), Jameel Ahmed (32), Brian Davis (53), Khalid Parvez (63), Mohammed Nadeem Ali (38) and Muhammad Yasir (36).

Besides the child sex abuse, the case also pertains to Grooming Jihad, a global issue which has become particularly stark in the UK, where Islamists prey on young girls and women, exploit their vulnerability and use rape as an instrument to inflict punishment.

In 2020, the police charged 32 men for over 150 sexual offences against eight underage teenage girls in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

The crimes were committed between 1999 and 2012 against the victims, who were aged between 13-16 years in the Kirklees, Bradford and Wakefield areas. Reportedly, several such victims were subjected to heinous crimes even after they turned adults.

A majority of the accused hail from the Batley and Dewsbury areas in the United Kingdom. They have been charged with serious sexual offences, including rape, indecent assault, sexual activity with a child, trafficking, abetment of rape, conspiracy to rape, making indecent photos of children, and possession of extreme porn.

Nearly 19,000 children were sexually abused in England in 2018-2019

According to the official figures, it is estimated that nearly 19,000 minors in England were sexually groomed in England in the last year, reported Dailymail. The local authorities in England identified around 18,700 suspected victims in 2018-19, up from 3,300 five years ago. The latest figures showed a sharp increase in the number of child grooming victims over the last five years.

The highest rates of child grooming victims in Britain were reported in areas including Birmingham, Lancashire and Bradford.

‘No Proud Hindu will be allowed in Shamsabad’: Mob of 40-45 Islamists attack minor Hindu boy over Facebook post, case registered

0

On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh Police registered an FIR against 40-45 unknown Islamists for brutally attacking and threatening a minor Hindu boy named Mohit Chauhan in Shamsabad area of Farrukhabad district. The victim was attacked over a Facebook post in which he had identified himself as a ‘proud Hindu’. The Islamists, while attacking Chauhan, threatened that they won’t allow any ‘proud Hindu’ to survive in the area.

According to the reports, the victim has identified seven accused Islamists and has registered a case against them. The case has also been registered against 40-45 unknown Islamists who attacked the victim. According to police, most of the attackers are minors. The incident is said to have happened on October 25, when Bilal Ali, Sartaj, Rehan, Amir, Noor Mohammad, and 40-45 other unknown Islamists attacked Mohit Chauhan.

Chauhan in his complaint mentioned that he was hanging out with some of his friends at around 5:15 pm in Shamsabad when the mob of Islamists arrived at the spot and started abusing him and his friends. They also threatened the victim and asked him to take down the ‘pro-Hindu’ Facebook post in which he had identified himself as a ‘Proud Hindu’. They also stated that they won’t allow any ‘proud Hindu’ person to survive in the city.

The Islamists then began thrashing Mohit and his friends identified as Arsh, Aryan, and Akshay. They continued beating four while dragging them from a restaurant, where they (the victim and his friends) were hanging out, to Dalveer Khan lane in the city. The Islamists also issued death threats to the victim and his friends.

According to the complaint, the Islamist attackers are linked to the group ‘Devil Group 302’ which is active on Instagram. Social media users linked to this group are known for posting photos with illegal weapons on the social media platform Facebook. The group members also often post offensive social media posts. Police have registered a case under sections 147, 323, 504, 506 of IPC. OpIndia has obtained a copy of the complaint given to the police in this regard.

A video of this incident has gone viral over the internet. A mob of Islamists is seen taking to the streets in the video. The Farrukhabad Police happened to take cognizance of the incident and have begun the investigation into the case. According to the police, most of the accused booked in the case are minors.

Notably, several Hindu organizations also took cognizance of the incident and staged a protest outside the police station demanding justice for Mohit Chauhan. Police said that the situation is under control now and that further investigation into the case is underway.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi wishes to see a Hijab-clad girl as the PM, BJP hits back saying ‘start with a Hijab-clad girl as AIMIM President’ first

Rishi Sunak, a British lawmaker of Indian descent, is now Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Sunak became the country’s first person of color to become the British PM. After meeting King Charles III, who invited him to form the government, he took charge.

However, scathing attacks on Sunak’s Hindu credentials and pointless comparisons are being drawn in India. Particularly, a section of people and politicians who are generally upset over the imaginary ‘victimization’ of minorities. Reacting to Rishi Sunak becoming the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi expressed his wish for a hijab-wearing girl to become Prime Minister of India one day.

Answering questions at a press conference in Vijayapura (Bijapur), Karnataka, during his campaign for the five party candidates running in the municipal corporation elections there, Owaisi stated that because one UK Prime Minister Liz Truss had failed to lift up the economy from crisis, her party made her step down from the position.

“They have their own democracy, and they can change the Prime Minister.” It is their issue. However, wearing a hijab is banned. “Inshallah, during my life or after my life, there will be a time when one hijab-wearing girl will become Prime Minister,” Owaisi remarked, referring to Sunak becoming the UK’s first Hindu Prime Minister.

Owaisi went on to level serious allegations against the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that the BJP’s true purpose is to eradicate India’s diversity and “Muslim identity.” “They believe that halal meat, Muslim skull caps, and beards pose a threat to them. They have issues with their eating habits. The party is truly opposed to Muslim identity,” the AIMIM chief said.

He further claimed that the BJP’s prime objective is to eradicate India’s diversity. “PM`s words ‘Sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas’ are empty rhetoric. The true objective of the BJP is to eradicate India’s diversity and Muslim identity,” Owaisi continued.

BJP’s National Spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawalla took to Twitter and asked the AIMIM chief if a Hijab-wearing girl can become the President of his party. “Owaisi ji hopes that a Hijab wearing girl becomes PM of India! Well, Constitution bars nobody but do tell us when will a Hijab wearing girl get to become President of AIMIM? Let us start with that?” he tweeted.

In response to Owaisi’s statement, BJP spokesperson N.V. Subhash stated that if Owaisi truly believed in progress and development, he should ensure that the Metro Rail is extended to the Old City. “When there are protests against the hijab in a place like Iran, he is silent,” Subhash remarked.

Subhash stated that India is a democracy and that anyone who worked for the people would get to the top and become Prime Minister. “Those with a mandate will reign.” Who would have predicted that a woman from the Scheduled Castes would become India’s President?” he stated.

Notably, Owaisi earlier on Tuesday accused the Modi government of bringing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) from backdoor after. “Modi govt’s policy is to treat Muslims with suspicion. Why ‘profile’ Muslims alone? Hindu communities also live near border areas, are they being profiled? This is backdoor NRC,” he tweeted.

This comes after central security agencies were reportedly directed to compile “demographic and economic profiles” of people of regions in Rajasthan with large Muslim populations along the Pakistan border.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal wants pics of Hindu god and goddess on currency notes, upsets Muslim Twitter users

Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday appealed to PM and the Central government to include images of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi on currency notes. Kejriwal said that he wants everyone in India should be rich and sometimes, no matter how much one tries, something falls short. “Efforts are fruitful only when we have blessings of gods and goddesses,” he said.

“Day before yesterday was Diwali. We all prayed to Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi. We prayed for health, wealth and prosperity. We know how businessmen have images of Lord Ganesh and Lakshmiji in their rooms and before starting their work pray to them. Today I want to appeal to Central government and Prime Minister to include Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi on the Indian currency. The image of Gandhi ji can be as it is. To improve our economy we need to make a lot more efforts but we also need blessings of our gods and goddesses,” he said while addressing media.

Kejriwal further said that MK Gandhi’s image should remain as it is, but if the other side has images of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi, the entire country will be blessed. He added that the current currency notes can be kept as is but the new notes which are printed can have the images of Hindu god and goddess.

He claimed that Indonesia, a country with 85% Muslim population and only 2% Hindu population but even they have Lord Ganesh image on their currency notes. “Hence I feel that this is an important step that the central government should take up,” he said. He added that the idea struck him when he was doing Lakshmi Pujan on Diwali night.

This move, however, did not quite go down well with Muslim Twitter users for whom praying to any other god except Allah is a sin.

Some Muslim Twitter users also called him a ‘Chhota Recharge’ of RSS, the Hindu nationalist voluntary group.

One Twitter user even wondered what would have happened if AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi would have suggested ‘La Ilaha Ilallah’ (there is no God but Allah) on currency notes.

Some even claimed India is a secular country and hence images of Hindu gods and goddesses should not be put up on the currency notes.

Other Aam Aadmi Party leaders, like Amanatullah Khan and Gopal Italia have not yet responded to this.

Ex-Pak PM Imran Khan says he had warned assassinated journalist Arshad Sharif about the looming death threat

On October 25, former prime minister of Pakistan and PTI Chief Imran Khan claimed that journalist Arshad Sharif, who was killed in Kenya on October 23, was a victim of a targeted killing. During his speech at a lawyer’s convention in Peshawar, Pakistan, Khan called Sharif a ‘martyr’.

Sharif was shot dead in Kenya allegedly by the local police after the journalist failed to stop at a checkpoint. The police were looking for a vehicle stolen in a carjacking incident where a child was abducted. In a statement, the local police said it was a case of ‘mistaken identity’. The official police statement expressed ‘regrets on the unfortunate incident’ and added that an investigation was underway.

Khan claimed that Sharif was aware his life was in danger. Khan further claimed he had warned Sharif and asked him to leave the country. He said, “He knew his life was in danger. He knew he was repeatedly getting warnings. He didn’t step back. I told him [to back down but] he wasn’t scared and then lastly, this targeted killing. No matter what people say, I know this was targeted killing.” Khan called him a ‘brave patriot who never compromised his conscience’.

He added, “Then I received information that they were about to kill him. They invaded his home and scared him in front of his family just so that he doesn’t speak the truth.” Khan said when Sharif refused to leave, he said to have received in the same manner he got information about a plot to kill him.

Khan pointed fingers at the Sharif and Zardari families and said, “He [Sharif] never spared any mafia. He exposed these two families (Sharif and Zardari families) in every programme with proof but no one could scare or buy him. Then he started getting threats from unknown numbers to ‘not say this or speak the truth’ when he started exposing this regime.”

Khan claimed Sharif left the country on his advice but was called back when his UAE Visa was about to expire. He further added they [the current regime] wanted to arrest Sharif like politicians Azam Swati and Shahbaz Gill or reporter Jameel Farooqui was arrested. They were allegedly stripped naked and tortured during custody.

UN sought a thorough inquiry into Sharif’s death

As per Dawn’s report, United Nations sought a thorough inquiry into Sharif’s death in Kenya. During a daily press briefing, Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric was asked about the killing of Sharif, he said, “I saw this tragic report of his death. I think the circumstances need to be investigated thoroughly, and the Kenyan authorities said they would, and I think the results of the investigation being shared quickly.”

Arshad Sharif linked Hindutva with terrorism, hated Modi

Sharif was also instrumental in a recent documentary based on corruption in the country that was about to be released soon. The film, titled ‘Behind Closed Doors,’ was based on corruption during the Nawaz Sharif government. Adil Raja, the permanent representative of Pakistan at the International Human Rights Foundation, stated that the documentary was the reason behind Sharif’s assassination. As per reports, Arshad Sharif had close ties with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

During the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi, Arshad was involved in propagating hatred against Hindus. In his tweets, he used terms like RSS-BJP goons and Hindutva. In a video last year, Arshad Sharif said that Narendra Modi had divided Indian society into two parts by bringing fanatical policies of fascist Hindutva and violating the rights of minorities.
