Assam police register 16 cases against PFI, establishes its link with Bangladeshi terror outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team

On Saturday (June 4), the Assam police informed that they have registered 16 cases against the Islamist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) and 2 cases against its student wing Campus Front of India (CFI). The police have also found evidence that PFI has closaed ties with Bangladesh based terror group Ansarullah Bangla Team.

While speaking about the matter, Additional Director General of Police Hiren Nath informed that a charge sheet has been filed in 12 cases while the investigation is underway for the remaining cases.

“On April 15, we registered a case in Barpeta district in which some (16) ABT activists were arrested. One of them was Maqibul Hussain. During the interrogation, Hussain surrendered that he was the president of PFI of Barpeta district,” he stated.

“Before joining Ansarullah Bangla Team he was actively working for PFI in the lower Assam, but later resigned to join the said group where he was trained by Mehdi Hasan,” Nath emphasised. It must be mentioned that the Ansarullah Bangla Team is a terror outfit, inspired by Al-Qaeda, and based in Bangladesh.

According to Assam Police, several PFI workers in the State are also working for the Islamic terror organisation. As per the Additional Director General of Police, PFI is active in 10 districts in the State.

Hiren Nath informed that the police are keeping a close eye on its activities. He added that the Islamic outfit has a habit of raking sensitive issues, unrelated to Assam, to provoke religious sentiments.

He said, “One of the modus operandi of this group or the workers is that anything happening anywhere in the country which does not even have any connection with Assam–may be some Hijab issue or some temples, mosques– they will demonstrate it here, especially in the lower Assam region, including Guwahati city, Goalpara, Barpeta, Baksa, Dhubri and some parts of the Barak Valley.”

The police officer further added that the Islamist group uses any issue involving minorities to as means of provocation. “Anything relating to a minority community, it may be a road accident, it may a quarrel between two groups, it may be misunderstanding, it may be investigation of a case by law enforcement agencies, they try to term it as an attack on the minority community”, Hiren Nath said.

According to Hiren Nath, the police have recovered PFI pamphlets in Bengali and Arabic, literature propagating Jihad and printing materials inscribed with anti-national slogans. He assured, “If anyone tries to disturb the social peace and tranquillity, or take the law into their hands, we will take very strong action against them.”

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma asked the Centre to ban PFI

In February this year, the chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the Assam government had asked the centre to impose an immediate and complete ban on the Popular Front of India(PFI).

Sarma, however, added that the request was made not because of PFI’s stand on the hijab row but for their direct involvement in ‘subversive activities and radicalisation’.

“Assam has demanded an immediate complete ban on PFI (Popular Front of India) from the central govt, not because of the hijab issue, it’s their democratic right, but because of their direct involvement with subversive activities & radicalisation,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal issue statements apologizing for their comments on Prophet Muhammad, say did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments

On June 5, following their suspension from the party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal issued statements apologising for their remarks on Prophet Muhammad saying that they had no intentions to hurt anyone’s sentiments.

In a statement, Nupur Sharma said, “I have been attending TV debates for the past many days where our Mahadev was being insulted and disrespected continuously. It was mockingly being said that it is not a Shivling but a fountain. The Shivling was also being ridiculed by comparing it to roadside signs and poles in Delhi. I could not tolerate this continuous insult and disrespect towards our Mahadev and I said some things in response to it. If my words have caused discomfort or hurt religious feelings of anyone whatsoever, I hereby unconditionally withdraw my statement. It was never my intention to hurt anyone’s religious feelings.”

According to news agency PTI, Naveen Kumar Jindal also issued a similar statement that his remarks were not aimed at hurting the religious sentiments of any community.

Earlier, BJP had suspended Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal from the party’s primary membership. The suspension came after BJP issued a press release where it had said that the party respects all religions and denounced derogatory remarks made against any religious personality.

Uttar Pradesh: Firozabad man Rizwan expels wife within a fortnight of marriage for not getting dowry, threatens her with triple talaq

In an incident that took place in Firozabad of Uttar Pradesh, it has come to light that a husband expelled his wife out of the house within 15 days of their marriage and threatened her of triple talaq. The incident took place under the Ramgarh police station area on 30th May 2022. The victim woman registered a complaint of dowry harassment in the police station on 1st June 2022.

Mantsa, who lives in the 60-feet road area under the Ramgarh police station was married to Rizwan who lives in the labor colony area under the Line Par police station. The marriage took place on 20th May 2022. Soon after the marriage, Mantsa’s in-laws started harassing her for dowry. On 30th May 2022, she was beaten up and thrashed out of the house by her husband and in-laws. The victim woman informed the Ramgarh police station. On 1st June 2022, the police have registered a dowry harassment case based on the complaint given by Mantsa.

According to a report by Amar Ujala, the police also did her medical check-up. Along with husband Rizwan, other family members are also named in the dowry harassment case. They are Razda, Imran, Faizan, Adnan, Sofia, and Rashid. None of the accused is arrested so far. Station in-charge Harvendra Mishra has said that the police are on the lookout for the accused and they will soon arrest them.

Husband Rizwan has threatened Mantsa saying that he will separate by giving triple talaq to her. She is therefore expecting police authorities to take action against the husband and other accused family members and make justice in her case.

Even after a law against triple talaq, cases of Muslim women facing this illegal religious tradition are appearing. In the last month, the Chhattisgarh Police registered an FIR against a person named Ishtiaq Alam for divorcing his wife over the mobile phone. The Police said that the accused uttered ‘Talaq’ three times on the phone while he was in conversation with his wife and divorced her.

The first sentence in a triple talaq case, after declaring this practice as illegal, was given in Gujarat. A Palanpur court in Banaskantha sentenced a Muslim officer to one year’s imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 in a triple talaq case.

Naveen Jindal gets life threats, urges everyone not to share his address following expulsion from BJP

On June 5, Naveen Kumar Jindal urged everyone on social media not to make his address public as he was getting threats to his life on social media. The tweet came after he was suspended from Bharatiya Janata Party and his suspension letter was shared on social media. In a tweet, Jindal said, “I have a special request to everyone, please do not make my address public. I am getting death threats for my family and me continuously on social media too.” He also tagged Delhi Police and Delhi LG in his tweet.

News agency ANI and media house NDTV’s journalists had published suspension letters of BJP’s Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal that included their addresses. Though ANI deleted the tweet, the addresses were already public. As a responsible portal, we are not publishing any tweets or suspension letters. Sharma has also made a similar request on social media.

Earlier, BJP had suspended Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal from the party’s primary membership. The suspension came after BJP issued a press release where it had said that the party respects all religions and denounces derogatory remarks made against any religious personality.

In the suspension letter, it was mentioned that Jindal published views that could have caused communal disharmony. He was expelled from the party as his views were not in line with the views of the party.

BJP’s Nupur Sharma appeals to media houses after news agency ANI and NDTV journos amongst others published her address with suspension letter

Following the suspension from Bharatiya Janata Party, Nupur Sharma has issued a statement on Twitter where she has asked the media houses to refrain from making her address public. She said, “I request all media houses and everybody else not to make my address public. There is a security threat to my family.”

News agency ANI and journalists associated with media house NDTV amongst others had published the suspension letter that had her address. ANI later deleted the tweet, but by then, the address was already made public. It is not yet clear how the suspension letter by the BJP reached the media houses without masking her address.

As a responsible portal, we have not added the tweets which reveal Sharma’s address amid the threats she has been receiving from Islamists.

Earlier, BJP had suspended Nupur Sharma and Navin Kumar Jindal from the party’s primary membership. The suspension came after BJP issued a press release where it had said that the party respect all religions and denounced derogatory remarks made against any religious personality.

Sharma has been facing threats including death threats from Islamists since she made some comments as per the Islamic texts on Prophet Muhammad that irked the Muslims. She argued that since people are mocking the Hindu faith repeatedly, they can also mock other religions referring to Islamic beliefs. Her statement was taken out of context by Alt News co-founder and alleged fact-checker Mohammed Zubair, who released an army of trolls and Islamists after Sharma. Multiple FIRs were registered against Sharma after the remarks and calls for hear death were also made.

AAP’s Raghav Chadha says BJP is collecting Congress’ ‘garbage’ as Valmiki samaj leader Raj Kumar Verka joins the party

On June 4, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha made derogatory remarks against leaders who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and called them ‘garbage’ of Congress. Reacting to his comments, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “I would like to remind Raghav Chadha that the people of Punjab are not trash. The words you have used show your arrogance towards Punjab and the people of Punjab. If a Punjabi had become a member of Rajya Sabha, he would not have dared to call people of Punjab trash. You can see if a non-Punjabi becomes leader from Punjab, how he sees the people of Punjab.”

In a follow-up statement, Sirsa said, “The way BJP is increasing its influence in Punjab, it is becoming a strong opposition. AAP used to question the existence of the BJP in Punjab, but now the party with 92 MLAs has been doing Press Conferences since yesterday and tells us whom we should take in the party. I would like to remind them that one-third of the MLAs of Punjab are from Akali Dal, BJP, and Congress. The party whose speaker in Delhi is a former BJP leader is now teaching us whom we should accept as party members. I would like to tell them not to worry about us. Take care of your own home. Your MLAs are ready to leave the party. You are neither able to manage the state nor the MLAs, and you are pointing fingers at us. Now, if your MLAs leave you, we will again get blamed. Soon MLAs of AAP will join BJP because there is no other way left but BJP to handle the situation in Punjab.”

Congress leaders joined BJP

On June 4, five Congress leaders, Dr. Raj Kumar Verka, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Kewal Dhillon, and Sunder Sham Arora, joined BJP in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders.

Sidhu, Gurpreet S. Kangar, Dr. Raj Kumar Verka, Sunder Sham Arora, and Kewal Singh Dhillon for taking a step in the right direction and joining BJP today. This is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Texas school shooting

Uttar Pradesh govt gets 4640 proposals from public representatives to adopt government schools after CM Yogi Adityanath’s call

The education department of the Uttar Pradesh government has received 4640 proposals from MPs, MLAs, other government and other public representatives to adopt state-run schools to transform them. This response has come within the span of two months of CM Yogi Adityanath’s call to gazetted officers to adopt government schools and provide them with basic facilities and upgrade them from their current state.

CM Yogi Adityanath launched the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ in the state from Shrawasti on 4th April 2022. Under this initiative, the CM had sought support from legislators, councillors, panchayat and municipal representatives in improving the state of schools in their respective areas. After this, a direction was issued to the gazetted officers to adopt a school each to give the schools a facelift. This mission of adoption was also named Operation Kayakalp. The officials are expected to improve the infrastructure and facilities of the schools. In this initiative, schools under the Operation Kayakalp will be given priority. Operation Kayakalp is one of the biggest inter-departmental convergence schemes of the UP government. The proposals being received by the education department in large numbers are the result of the same.

Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh state, DS Mishra had issued the directions of Operation Kayakalp. The schools adopted in this initiative are expected to get better infrastructures and facilities. These facilities include a range of things like electrical wirings, fans, lights, desks, sports equipment, teaching equipment, means to convert a normal classroom into a smart classroom, and audiovisual aids. The elected representatives and the gazetted officers who are adopting the government schools can also provide a library to the school. Clean drinking facilities to the schools are also on the list.

According to a report by the Times of India, Jaunpur (179), Banda(178), and Kanpur Nagar(176) are the districts with the highest number of adoption proposals. There are districts like Amethi, Raebareli, Firozabad, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, etc. where the number of adoption proposals is in single digits.

An officer in the education department said, “There are cases where an elected representative – MP or MLA – has adopted more than one school. This will encourage more gazetted officers to participate in revamping schools.” CM Yogi Adityanath had appealed to gazetted officers and people’s representatives right from the Panchayat level. The adoption of government schools is a new thing they are competing with one another. The motive of this initiative is to provide students with a clean, healthy, fulfilling, and developed atmosphere in their learning space.

Uttar Pradesh: Imran hides his marital status to trap Asha, blackmails her, shoots her in the head

Another incident of a Muslim man attacking a Hindu girl after an interfaith relationship has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun, in which an already married Muslim person named Imran shot an 18-year-old Hindu girl Asha in her head. Imran pretended to be unmarried and started a so-called love relationship with Asha. The incident took place on Wednesday 1st June 2022 in the Islam Nagar area of Badaun.

According to a report by Amar Ujala, Imran, currently absconding, hails from the Bairamai Bujurg village in the Bilsi area of Badaun. Imran works in a hair-cutting salon in Gurugram where he met Asha, and subsequently, both of them started a relationship. Asha is from Amethi and works as a caretaker in a Gurugram colony. She knew Imran for the last one and half years.

Asha told the police that Imran used to tell his other name as Javed. When they both met each other almost one and half years ago, Asha did not know that Imran is married. After around eight months, she came to know that Imran is already married and has two children. Since then, she was trying to get rid of him but he had her objectionable photos and he was blackmailing her with the same.

In the last month, he extorted 35,000 rupees from her and was pressurizing her for even more money. On Wednesday evening, he took Asha to Badaun by bus saying that they would go for some outing. While on the bus, Imran took Asha’s mobile phone saying that his phone’s battery has discharged. Imran changed the SIM and password of Asha’s phone.

Once in Badaun, Imran got a bike from his friend Zeeshan and told Asha that they would go to the Islam Nagar fair. As they went ahead, Asha grew suspicious and asked Imran to stop the bike and let her board a bus to go back to Delhi. According to the girl, it was after this that Imran took out a pistol and fired at her. Fortunately, the bullet only passed touching her head.

The police have admitted the girl to the district hospital and the girl’s health is improving. An FIR has been registered against Imran and his friend Zeeshan. Zeeshan has since been arrested by the police. The girl told the police that Imran wanted to kill her but she was unaware of his motive.

Police said that a search is on for the absconding accused Imran. A police team has also been formed to trace him.
