Lawyer Prashant Bhushan resorts to peddling hysteria against Covid-19 vaccines yet again using lies

On Sunday (December 5) morning, Supreme court advocate Prashant Bhushan again resorted to peddling misinformation on social media to create a fresh wave of vaccine hesitancy in India.

In a tweet, Bhushan wrote, “They’re telling the unjabbed to take the jab because the jab works. And telling the jabbed to get a booster because the jab doesn’t work. All while telling everyone that the unjabbed are putting the jabbed in danger by not getting a jab that didn’t protect the jabbed.”

Screengrab of the tweet by Prashant Bhushan

It is true that the Government of India has been on a mission mode to get unvaccinated individuals, immunised against the Wuhan Coronavirus. Therefore, an appeal has been made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of India in this regard. However, neither the Indian government nor the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has made any official statement regarding the need for booster shots for either Covaxin (developed by Oxford AstraZeneca) or Covishield (developed by Bharat Biotech). No statement, denying the efficacy of vaccines (even after 2 doses) in fighting Coronavirus, has been made.

Booster doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been given in other countries, but it has not started yet in India, although Serum Institute has applied for DCGI’s approval to use Covishield as booster dose.

While there is no iota of truth in any of the claims made by Prashant Bhushan, the Supreme Court advocate went on to claim that the government was telling the ‘unjabbed’ that they were endangering the lives of people. It is a known fact that vaccines are not 100% effective. However, they are more immune to the virus than an unvaccinated individual, relying solely on natural immunity. By resorting to rhetorical statements, Prashant Bhushan insinuated that one did not need to get vaccinated against Covid-19. As of December 5, 2021, about 1.27 crore Covid-19 doses has been administered.

Prashant Bhushan is also wrong in saying that the vaccines don’t work, just because vaccinated people also get infected. Since the beginning of Covid-19 vaccines were introduced, it has been known that the vaccines don’t prevent the Coronavirus infection, but they reduce the complications of the infection. Data from all countries have shown that rate of mortality and serious injury is far less among vaccinated people who get infected. Therefore, it is wong to say that the jab does not work, that is a lie.

Prashant Bhushan and his consistent anti-vaccine propaganda

In February this year, Prashant Bhushan had advocated that financial resources allocated towards Covid-19 vaccines in Union Budget 2021 ought to be relocated to migrant workers and farmers. In his defence, he had claimed that Covid-19 was “naturally dying down” in the country. The controversial activist had said, “FM announces 35,000 Cr of our money to be spent on Pvt Vaccine Companies for untested Vaccines at a time when Covid is naturally dying down in India! But this money cannot be given to poor migrant labour who lost their jobs or to Farmers for MSP on their crops. Wah FM sahiba!”

Two months later, India witnessed the deadly second wave of Wuhan Coronavirus. In June 2021, he tweeted a report by a website, which suggested that the mortality rate was higher in vaccinated people as compared to the unvaccinated ones. Citing health data from the UK, the report claimed that the death rate from the Delta variant of COVID virus was six times higher for vaccinated than unvaccinated people. The report also included the link to the original data, and the data showed that the report used a misleading headline.

The health data only gave the number of deaths among vaccinated and non-vaccinated people, it did not include other factors like age group, co-morbidities etc. Bhushan had also claimed younger population have a higher chance of dying through vaccination as compared to suffering severe complications or even death due to coronavirus. His anti-vaccine bile came after Twitter had removed Prashant Bhushan’s anti-mask tweets for spreading misinformation.

Donald Trump calls general Mark Milley ‘a f*cking idiot’ for saying that it was cheaper to leave behind military equipment in Afghanistan

0

Former US President Donald Trump called US army general Mark Milley “a f*cking idiot” at an event on Saturday. Trump’s comment against the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley was made during a speech given at the Mar-a-Lago event organized by the conservative organization Turning Point Action, a C4 affiliate of Turning Point USA.

Trump discussed the decision of the US army to leave behind expensive war equipment including helicopters in Afghanistan and said, “I said, the moment we get out, I want every nut, every bolt, every screw… we’re taking everything, we’re taking down the tents”. After that he added, “They left all the tents. They left everything. Couldn’t they have flown in a couple of hundred pilots and flown the planes back?”.

Mocking the US top general, Donald Trump said, “I’ll never forget Milley saying to me, ‘Sir, sir. It’s cheaper to leave the equipment than to bring it’.

Trump then added that he asked Milley, “I said ‘really?’

“You’ve got a $50m dollar aeroplane. You’ve got a $29m gorgeous helicopter. We had every type of helicopter. Many of them brand new. Literally out of the box. You think it’s cheaper to leave it there so they can have it, than it is to fill it up with a half tank of gas and fly it into Pakistan or fly it back to our country?”

To this, Milley replied ‘Yes sir. We think it’s cheaper Sir,’ as said by Trump, and added that at that point he realized that Milley was “a f*cking idiot”.

“That’s when I realised he was a f***ing idiot,” he said. This comment by Trump elicited laughter and cheers from the audience.

Notably, Trump had also referred to Milley as “a complete nut job” and “dumbass” in the past and accused him of treason. He said that the US General’s greatest fear was “upsetting the woke mob”.

Notably, Donald Trump had recently hinted at running again for the presidency in 2024 and told GB News host Nigel Farage that if a person loved his country, then he got no choice. He also said, “I think we’re going to have a very big 2022 and an even bigger 2024.”

Amid the chaotic withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan after and before the Taliban took over the country in Afghanistan, military equipment worth billions were left behind the various army and airforce bases in the country. The US military left behind several helicopters, thousands of armoured vehicles, lakhs of assault rifles and other guns, tonnes of ammunition, artillery and mortar systems, sophisticated defensive systems etc. While US officials had claimed that aircraft left behind were disabled, later videos had emerged showing the Taliban flying an American Black Hawk helicopter.

While some of the equipment left behind belonged to the US forces, many others belonged to Afghan forces given by the USA.

Uttar Pradesh: Muslim youth chants Jai Shri Ram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai in a rally, Deoband maulanas threaten to expel him from Islam

0

Ehsaan Rao, a Muslim youth from Uttar Pradesh, has dared fundamentalists and Maulanas of Deoband that nobody can stop him from chanting Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Marta Ki Jai.

A video of Ehsaan Rao has gone viral where he is seen joining the chorus of Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai during the rally of Union Minister of Home and Affairs Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath held in Saharanpur on December 2. The man was seen riding on the shoulder of a person in the enclosure.

It has offended some Maulanas of Deoband who have asked him to repent for uttering Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai, else he will be expelled from Islam. Mufti Asad Kashim of Madarsa Shaikhul Hind of Deoband accused Rao of acting against Islam. “These are prohibited in Islam and he should repent for this,” said Kashim.

But Rao said that he considers himself as a descendant of Lord Ram.

“We are the descendants of Lord Ram. He was our forefather. There is no problem in chanting in praise for the nation where we live. Jai Shri Ram is the slogan of love. Lord Ram is the centre of faith for millions of people,” he said.

He questioned Maulanas for objecting to his slogans. “Do they issue a fatwa against chanting Jai Nehru, Jai Lohia, Jai Bhim, Jai Charan Singh? Then why did they issue a fatwa against Ehsaan Rao? I am being threatened for chanting slogans. But I have faith in the administration that it will protect me. You (Maulanas) stay happy with your religion and I stay happy with my faith,” said Ehsaan Rao.

Ehsaan Rao who is associated with the BJP also said that he will raise the issue with the police in this regard.

The hate of Islamic fundamentalists for praying motherland is not new. In March 2016 seminary had issued a fatwa against Bharat mata Ki Jai saying that the slogan goes against tauheed (the idea of worshipping one god), which forms the core of Islam.

Another spitter on food caught on camera: Meerut Police arrest Naushad for spitting on dough while making roti at a party

0

Yet another incident of spitting on food while preparing them have come to light. Meerut Police informed on Sunday that they have arrested one Naushad for spitting on the dough while making tandoori roti. The incident took place on December 2, 2021, at an engagement party, and the video of Nashad spitting on the dough had appeared on social media.

Naushad was hired by a contractor who was managing the catering at the engagement. The contractor identified as Baleshwar has also been detained by the Police for questioning.

The engagement function in which the incident took place happened in Lakshminagar, Ambedkar Road, Kankarkhera, district Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Naushad was caught on camera while spitting on roti by a guest. He showed the video to the family on next day. Siyanand, the father of the groom, immediately approached Kankarkheda Police to file the case. The Police swung into action and arrested Naushad and the contractor for questioning.

As per reports, Naushad first denied the allegations. However, when the Police showed him the video, he stopped talking. Naushad is a resident of Kaithwadi near Nanglatashi in Meerut. Inspector Subodh Kumar Saxena said that they had received the complaint and arrested the accused. Based on the investigation, strict action would be taken against the accused.

As per Hindi daily Jagran’s report, a friend of Naushad told the Police that he had done a similar thing in a previous wedding around six months ago. No one could record him, but his friends knew he spits on the dough while making roti.

Multiple cases of spitting on food came to light

This is the second ‘Naushad’ arrested for spitting on the dough while making roti. A similar case was reported in Meerut in February 2021 when a person named Naushad was accused of spitting on the dough while making roti. He was subsequently arrested by the Police.

In the last one year, multiple cases of cooks belonging to a particular community got caught on camera for spitting on food. Several people in similar cases were detained by the Police, and action was taken. However, irrespective of outrage and multiple arrests, such incidents are regularly being caught on camera, and it is unclear how many such cases get unreported or unrecorded. In a time when the country is looking at another variant of the Covid-19 virus, such anti-social elements need to be curbed that play with the health of the common people.

Another Nikita Tomar crime in Haryana: Tanishka Sharma shot by stalker Mohd Sahil hours after her wedding, condition critical

On Wednesday (December 1) night, a bride was shot at by one Mohammad Sahil while she was heading home after the ‘vidai’ with her newlywed groom. The incident took place in Bhali-Anandpur village in the Rohtak district of Haryana. Sahil was stalking the girl for a long time and tried to kill her after he was apparently enraged seeing her marrying someone else.

As per reports, the victim was identified as one Tanishka Sharma. At the time of the attack, she was travelling home with her husband Mohan. The car was being driven by Sunil, the brother of Mohan. While recounting the incident, Mohan informed, “When we reached near the Shiv temple around 11.30 pm, an Innova that was chasing us for quite some time, overtook our vehicle and blocked our way. Three people were seated in the Innova and two men got out of the car carrying revolvers and asked Sunil to open our car door.”

He added, “They took the car keys, fired multiple gunshots at Tanishka. When Sunil tried to intervene, they assaulted him and even snatched his gold chain. They fled after firing gunshots in the air. Tanishka was admitted to Rohtak’s PGIMS where her condition is stated to be critical.” Later, it was found that they had seized the car, which was used for the crime, from a local property dealer named Vishwanath at around 7:30 pm on Wednesday.

Vishwanath, a resident of Aggarwal colony in Sampla, recounted that he was threatened at gunpoint by three men.

Victim fighting for her life, Sahil arrested

The victim, Tanishka, is being treated at the PGI Trauma Centre. She was shot thrice and had sustained bullet injuries to her neck, including the chest region. Reportedly, a bullet even got stuck in her oesophagus and respiratory tract. A part of her liver and the spleen were also damaged in the attack, causing the perforation of the stomach and the large intestine.

One bullet had hit her on the left rib. It was traced through a Computed Tomography (CT) scan. She had suffered injuries to her jaw as well. Currently, she is fighting for her life. Reportedly, Tanishka aspired to become a police officer and talked about her ambitions at home. It had come to light that Sahil was harassing the victim for a long time. They are both residents of Sampla village. Sahil is a history-sheeter with a criminal record in robbery, bike theft and snatching.

A case has been registered by the Bahuakbarpur police against primary accused Sahil and two other accused under the Arms Act and relevant Indian PC Sections. The cops have arrested Sahil along with two minors and set up a blockade in the entire district to nab the other two accused. The name of Mohammed Sahil’s friend Bhandar also surfaced during the investigation.

Reportedly, he had engaged two minors to get information about the happenings at the marriage in advance. As soon as the bride’s car left the wedding venue, they informed Sahil and thus Sahil attacked Tanishka.

During interrogation, the police came to know that the accused Sahil was also present at the wedding of Tanishka along with his associates, and had taken food there. Therefore, police are also exploring the love angle in the crime.

Tanishka was more concerned about her husband’s safety

Despite sustaining bullet injuries, Tanishka was more concerned about her newly wedded husband Mohan than herself. “Are you okay?” she kept on inquiring during the journey to the hospital. Her marriage was fixed 3 months ago. Mohan was able to escape unhurt. Many locals had heard gunshot sounds but chose to remain indoors instead. A panchayat was called by the residents of Sampla which saw the participation of around 250 people. Rajendra Bura, Inspector of Sampla police station, was also present in the meeting.

The gruesome murder of Nikita Tomar and aftermath

This incident is similar to an earlier incident when a girl was killed by a man for rejecting his advances. In October 2020, a 21-year-old student Nikita Tomar was shot dead in full public view by one Tauseef in point-blank range in Faridabad. The video of the gruesome act caught on camera had gone viral. In the CCTV footage, the assailant was seen stepping out of his car and pulling out his revolver to shoot Nikita Tomar.

Her family had alleged that Tauseef started hounding her and pressuring her to embrace Islam and marry him. Tauseef and his friend Rehan were later convicted by a district sessions court in Faridabad.

Rakesh Tikait becomes professional aandolanjeevi, calls for a nationwide movement against privatisation of banks

After the Modi government took back the farm bills, the farmer organisations that were protesting against the bills are now looking for other excuses to keep their protests running. As a part of the same, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has called for a nationwide movement against the privatisation of nationalised banks. He asked the citizens to see the result on December 6 when the bill is scheduled to be tabled in the parliament to privatise public sector banks. In a tweet yesterday, he said when the protests against the farm laws began, he had announced that the next would be banks. He claimed ‘there is a need of a common movement against the privatisation across the country’.

The farmer organisations had already said that they will not withdraw the protests even after the three laws were withdrawn. They had said they will continue the protests and the highway blockades over demands like a law on MSP etc.

Farmer Union announced a five-member committee over MSP

Samyukt Kisan Morcha has named five members for a committee to discuss issues like MSP, the Electricity Amendment Bill, and the Lakhimpur Kheri case etc. with the government. The members are Dhawale, Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Shiv Kumar Kaka, Yudhvir Singh, and Balbir Singh Rawal.

Compensation for alleged deceased farmers

Tikait, in a statement to ANI, said that the discussion about MSP has just started and it would take time to reach a conclusion. “We won’t develop any strategies today, we will only discuss how the agitation should move forward.” He further added the talks between farmer leaders and Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar were inconclusive. “Like Punjab, we need state-wise compensation for deaths of farmers and employment,” Tikait said.

The baseless urge to continue protests

Even though the three Agriculture Laws have already been repealed by the government, the farmer unions led by leaders like Rakesh Tikait are not ready to take back the protests. At one point, Tikait had announced that the protests would continue till Lok Sabha elections 2024, and it seems he is looking for one reason after another to keep the protests alive. The protests that got hijacked by the Khalistanis and anti-India elements from the very beginning, have caused losses of over 60,000 crores and have been linked to murders, rapes and riots.

Former BJP MP writes tribute for Vinod Dua, says Dua was not fearless but a part of the establishment

Former BJP MP Balbir Punj has written a tribute letter to veteran journalist late Vinod Dua remembering Dua as a man full of life and a karam yogi. In his tribute letter, Balbir Punj also stated that Dua’s journalism during the last years of his life was heavily influenced by an ideology which was not directed towards the pursuit of truth and that Vinod Dua’s biased views took control of his journalism.

In his tribute letter titled ‘REMEMBERING VINOD DUA’, Balbir Punj has said that over the years Vinod Dua chose to ignore facts or twisted them to fit his narrative.

Punj said, “We lost a well known media personality VINOD DUA yesterday. I had known him for over three decades and his untimely demise has left me sad. He was full of life and a karam yogi. However, his ‘journalism’ was obviously shaped by the ideology he believed in. In last years of his life, he sounded more like an urban naxal, not as a journalist in pursuit of truth. over the years, VINOD’S heavily biased views overshadowed his journalism. He ignored inconvenient facts, or twisted them to suit his narrative. No wonder, in such a scenario, truth was the first casualty. But he couldn’t care less.”

Balbir Punj has also questioned if Vinod Dua could be called a journalist in the true sense or a political campaigner who peddled the anti- Modi narrative. He noted, “Can we call him a journalist ? I am afraid not. He was essentially a political campaigner, wedded to his world view. For him MODI & RSS couldn’t do anything right, and communists/Jehadies/Evangelists nothing wrong”

According to Balbir Punj, Vinod Dua was not ‘fearless’ as considered by many but a part of the ‘Left’ establishment who consider ‘Commies’ responsible for the creation of Islamic Pakistan as super ‘secular’.

He said, “For many VINOD was ‘fearless’. He wasn’t. He was a part of the establishment. In the post independence India, the ‘Left’ is the establishment… Here us an illustration. Commies, along with British and Jehadies, were responsible fir the creation of an Islamic Pakistan. For this ‘Establishment,Commies are not only super ‘secular’, they are the ones ‘authorised, to issue certificates of being Secular/Communal to individuals and organisations”

Yesterday, Mallika Dua, daughter of Vinod Dua had informed about the death of his father in an Instagram story referring to Dua as irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father.

Punj further noted that Vinod Dua was a ‘beneficiary’ of the Left establishment for a long time, “VINOD was a part and beneficiary of this establishment for long. He usually toed the establishment line- may be out of conviction or some other considerations – I am not sure”

However, Balbir Punj has stated that Vinod Dua was a “good, vibrant and entertaining company” and had the capacity to laugh at himself.

Congress leader Manish Tewari snubs Sidhu for asking to resume trade with Pakistan, says it’s useless and futile until Pakistan stops anti-India activities

Senior Congress leader and MP from Gurdaspur Manish Tewari has snubbed Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu for his suggestions to open the India-Pakistan border in Punjab to increase trade and friendship between India and Pakistan. Tewari said that it was futile to hold any trade talks with Pakistan when Pakistan is involved in anti-India activities like cross border terrorism.

Manish Tewari on Sunday said that it is “useless and futile” to hold any trade-related talks with Pakistan until the country stops its anti-India activities. Speaking to ANI, the Lok Sabha MP said, “Until Pakistan stops sending terrorists to India and dropping drugs and weapons in our areas via drones, it is useless and futile to hold any trade-related talks with Pakistan.”

Tewari’s comment came a day after Sidhu had advocated for opening the Attari border for cross-border trade relations. Sidhu said this while speaking to the media in Amritsar on December 4. The most dangerous aspect of the pro-Pakistani rant of Sidhu was that he had referred to Pakistani infiltrators (smugglers, criminals, terrorists, spies etc) as naughty elements who will keep coming to India through the porous borders. Hence, “why not open it, so that trade becomes possible and prosperity comes,” he said.

Battling for the India Pakistan friendship and trade, he said that Punjab has suffered huge loss due to stalled trade between India and Pakistan.

“If the Karachi border is open, why can’t they open Attari border for business? If the central government opens this, then it will boost the economy of Punjab,” Sidhu said.

He pointed out how former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had started Aman Eman Bus Sewa from India to Pakistan to increase friendship.

Sidhu under the pretext of outlining his economic visions for Punjab paddled the agenda of Pakistan even to the extent of ignoring infiltration and Pakistan’s increased subversive activities in Punjab in the recent months.

Sidhu, who had referred Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan bada bhai (elder brother) and hugged Pakistani Army General Qamar Bajwa, keeps speaking for the other side of the border.

While the Congress high command is silent over Sidhu’s pro-Pakistani tune, party leader Manish Tewari has slammed him, which he had done earlier also.

When Sidhu had praised Imran Khan as elder brother, Tewari had termed Imran Khan as a cat’s paw of Pak deep State ISI-Military combine. Imran Khan “maybe anybody’s elder brother but for India he is that cat’s paw of Pak Deep State ISI-Military combine that drones arms & narcotics into Punjab & sends terrorists on a daily basis across LOC in J&K. Have we forgotten martyrdom of our soldiers in Poonch so soon?”, Tewari had said.

Wife of Priyantha Kumara begs for justice :

Pakistani PM Imran Khan has expressed anger & shame over the Sialkot killing in a tweet where he said, “Spoke to Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today in UAE to convey our nation’s anger & shame to people of Sri Lanka at vigilante killing of Priyantha Diyawadana in Sialkot. I informed him 100+ ppl arrested & assured him they would be prosecuted with full severity of the law.”

Maulana Fazlur Rehman justify the Sialkot killing on Pak Govt inaction towards blasphemy

Maulana Fazlur Rehman while condemning the incident have warned that such incidents of mob justice would continue to happen if the Pakistan government did not take action against those suspected of blasphemy. Maulana said, “In the past, such reactions have come when those accused of blasphemy have been sent abroad under government supervision,”

Mufti Muneebur Rehman, Former chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has tried to downplay the incident and asked the media to refrain from blaming any group or individual before a complete police investigation has been conducted.

“Congratulations India,” hailed Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. He termed it a moment of great pride as “over 50% of the eligible population are now fully vaccinated. We will win the battle against COVID-19 together,” he said.

In another tweet he said that world’s largest vaccination drive ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has achieved another 10,000,000 COVID-19 vaccinations.

According to the CoWIN portal, India inoculated 1,03,93,692 Covid-19 vaccine doses on December 4. On September 17, coinciding with the birthday of Prime Minister India made a record of inoculating over 2.5 crore Covid-19 vaccine shots.

‘Har Ghar Dastak’ proved booster for vaccination drive

‘Har Ghar Dastak’ was launched on November 3 and it aims to ensure vaccination of all eligible beneficiaries through house-to-house visits.

During a press conference the joint secretary of union health ministry Lav Agarwal had revealed that due to the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign, vaccination rates in the country increased. He said that the rate of first dose of vaccination rose by 5.9 percent while the rate of the second dose increased by 11 percent.

Uttar Pradesh witnessed the maximum (8.7 percent) progress in the first dose coverage as the result of this programme. Similarly, Himachal Pradesh witnessed also recorded a major jump of 28.7 percent in the second dose.

Modi government on mission Mode to vaccinate entire population

The central government had ramped up the vaccination drive when India detected its fourth case of Omicron variant of Covid-19 in Maharashtra. Earlier a man from Gujarat’s Jamnagar tested positive for the variant who had returned India from Zimbabwe. In Karnataka also two persons were tested positive for this new variant.

In the wake of new variant of Covid-19, scientists have advised Union health Ministry to ensure double vaccination so that people get base layer of protection.
