Modi sarkar faces criticism because it finishes tasks that weak Congress could not

So this 2010 release from PIB came to my notice yesterday.

Untitled
2010 PIB report on Passport Act

The year is 2010. This is Dr. Singh’s government deciding to grant exemption from the Passport Act to certain groups of Pakistani nationals residing in India.

Which groups? The release is very clear: minority communities in Pakistan (Hindus and Sikhs).

Does anybody remember this event when it happened in 2010? Did anybody start jumping up and down claiming this was against idea of India? Of course not. Because it was a routine government decision, written in routine legal language. In India, the government routinely grants special privileges to specific groups seen as disadvantaged in some way : women, backward castes, tribals, physically challenged, religious minorities, etc. Hindus and Sikhs from Pakistan fit the requirements perfectly. This has never been seen as a violation of the Constitution. Instead, this is seen as the heart of the Constitution.

So why did CAA become such an issue in 2019-20?

Look at the 2010 release carefully. It only grants Long Term Visas and says nothing about citizenship. In other words, it is a half measure, leaving the affected people essentially in limbo. Are those people supposed to live their entire lives on long term visas?

The difference is that Modi government actually went ahead and finished the task, providing a clear pathway to citizenship. They got stuff done, which the weak willed Congress was too scared to actually do! That’s what caught the attention of Hinduphobes in India and all around the world.

Read: Yogendra Yadav’s ‘five finger’ fearmongering video on NPR-NRC-CAA calling to not give data during census is full of lies

You can see the same pattern in almost anything that has happened since 2014. Some version of some idea has been floating around for a while. Congress has thought about it, wasted taxpayer’s money and time discussing versions of it. But the task was not completed. Maybe half of it was done and the remaining half left suspended in the air.

Look at the NRC. It was Rajiv Gandhi who promised NRC in Assam all the way back in 1985. If he had actually done it in 1985, we wouldn’t have all these problems in the North East in the first place. But from 1985 till 2015, *zero* progress was made. Thirty full years and nothing was done!

Then BJP came to power in Assam in 2016 and that’s when the exercise actually began. Decades have passed, it has become harder to identify non-citizens and there are now all sorts of excuses that are hindering the process.

Everything is now Modi’s problem. His fault? He got stuff done. Fulfilled a promise that the Govt of India made many decades ago.

How about NPR? We have old video of P Chidambaram explaining just how amazing the NPR will be.

Why were there no protests back then? Because they didn’t actually get anything done.

This goes way beyond CAA, NRC or NPR.

There are other abbreviations with respect to which a similar pattern can be observed. Don’t forget GST!

Here is then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee with the idea that Indian businesses were ready for GST as far back as July 2010. Also, he recognizes the realities of India’s economy and society, thus proposing a “GST” with multiple tax rates.

Untitled
GST proposed back in 2010

A few years later, the Congress would go on a warpath against the government for a complicated GST with many rates!

The difference? It is just that the Congress didn’t get anything done. Modi sarkar went ahead and implemented GST. That’s why all the problems that followed were blamed on PM Modi. He had invited Dr. Singh to the official launch in Parliament, but Dr. Singh declined. He didn’t want to risk any blame.

Don’t take risk. Do nothing. Avoid direct blame. Status quo for the win!

This has been the Congress model. And it has worked amazingly well for them, putting four generations of one family in power.

By 1991, India had not moved an inch in forty years. They say that toilet coverage in India was below 40%. I am scared to ask what the number was back in 1991. Imagine the speed at which things were being done since independence.

The same goes for Aadhar. The Congress government designed it, but little was actually ever done with it. It is only now that Aadhar has been connected to everything from welfare schemes to income tax returns.

The Congress has been around long enough that every idea, whether good or bad, has been circulated by it. But everything was done with half measures, trying to avoid risk, reward or blame. Worked great for Congress because they had been in power almost all the time. Rocking the boat made no sense.

But did it make sense for the people of India? That is the question.

Watch: Iranians lick and kiss shrines amidst Coronavirus outbreak, say they are not scared of the deadly virus

Calamity has struck Iran in the form of the Coronavirus. At least 210 are speculated to have died in the Covid-19 outbreak in the country thus far. The figure is much higher than the official figures provided by the Ministry. Most of the victims are believed to be from Iran’s capital, Tehran, and the city of Qom, where cases of Coronavirus first emerged.

Meanwhile, a dangerous trend has emerged in Qom, a city near Tehran. Pro-regime citizens of Qom are visiting religious shrines in Qom and licking them in an apparent effort to prove that there’s nothing to be concerned about. “I’m licking this I don’t care whatever happens,” a man says, “I am not scared of Coronavirus.”

“There are people who say that this shrine spreads the Coronavirus, I’m here to lick the tomb so that I can fall ill. This way, I have removed the viruses,” says another. Crowded gatherings are at the greatest risk of spreading the Coronavirus and as such, shrines could be particularly vulnerable as sites to spread the virus. However, Iran’s authorities haven’t yet shut them down yet and people licking the shrine are encouraging others to visit it.

Even children are being coerced and encouraged into kissing and licking the shrine. “Bravo to this young child for licking all the doors. He’s kissing it, licking it, He licked all the doors. We’re the ones who will get the virus and our children,” a person can be heard saying in the video shared by Masih Alinejad, an Iranian journalist and activist. Alinejad has also said that the World Health Organization needs to intervene immediately.

The head of the Fatima Masumeh shrine in Qom, meanwhile, has called upon Iranians to keep coming to the shrine, which could spell disaster for the country and also spread it to other countries. “We consider this holy shrine to be a place of healing. That means people should come here to heal from spiritual and physical diseases,” Mohammad Saeedi, who is also the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in Qom, has said.

Earlier, only a day after Iran’s Deputy Health Minister had announced that the government has the Coronavirus outbreak under control, he tested positive for the virus. Vice-President for Women’s and Family Affairs, Masoumeh Ebtekar, and Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi are among several senior officials who have been infected.

Delhi Anti-Hindu riots: 23-year-old Rahul Thakur, who was preparing for SSC, was shot dead by a Muslim mob in Brijpuri

Manish Singh alias Rahul Thakur, 23, who lived in Brijpuri’s street number 6, was preparing for SSC. He was shot dead by a violent Muslim mob during the Delhi Anti-Hindu riots. Rahul was second among the two brothers. His elder brother, Abhishek, has not even ventured out of the house. He is reluctant to talk to anyone. The family is in a state of mourning.

When OpIndia reached Rahul Thakur’s house in Brijpuri on Saturday, we found the neighbours trying to console the family. Rahul’s father had his head bowed down, outside the house. He is in RPF and posted in Punjab.

When asked about the incident, an eye witness recounted, “The violence that started on Monday from Chandbagh was spreading from one place to another with increasing crowds of Muslims. They reached Karajur Nagar, Khajuri, Jafrabad and Shiv Vihar. When the sounds of bricks and stones started coming from all around, everyone went out of their houses to see what was going on.

The eye witness said, We all went out of on the street. Rahul was also with us. It was only then that we saw thousands of Muslim people coming towards us from the Brijpuri mosque, with brick and stone in their hands. Even before we could handle ourselves, a bullet hit Rahul and he fell on the ground holding his stomach.”

“Seeing the crowd of Muslims approaching us, we hurriedly picked up Rahul and rushed him to the hospital. After a brief treatment, the doctors declared him dead, the eye witness added.

Rahul’s mother Mamata Devi and father was devastated after learning about their son’s death. After talking to the people sitting outside, when we expressed our desire to meet Rahul’s mother, she said, “If you come into the house, then bring my son Rahul along with you”. She burst into tears.

Neighbours consoling Rahul’s family

Sensing the pain and anger hidden in her voice owing to the loss of a young son, our team returned back from afar. The Rahul that she wanted to see with us was no more because he was snatched away by a mob of Muslims.

After the Delhi Anti-Hindu riots sparked off in the name of Anti-CAA protests, a large group is trying to prove the rioters as victims. These include the opposition party, the Liberals, the Left and the media community. Meanwhile, there is silence in the streets about the ordeal of the Hindu victims. This is the story of every Hindu family, who lost everything.

Pope Francis removes Kerala priest convicted for raping 16-year-old girl from priesthood

Father Robin Vadakkumchery of the Mananthavady diocese who was accused of raping and impregnating 16-year old girl three years ago has removed from the priesthood by Pope Francis.

According to the reports, Syro-Malabar Church priest Robin Vadakkumchery, who is currently serving a jail term for impregnating a 16-year-old girl in Mananthavady diocese, has been defrocked and dispensed from the exercise of priestly duties and rights. He has been reduced to the state of a layman, said a church official.

Last year, Priest Robin was convicted by the Thalassery POCSO court in February 2019 for raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl back in 2016. Robin has been sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment and Rs 3 lakh fine by the court.

This case had exposed the ugliness of the power nexus within the Church, when the rape survivor’s father, during the initial stages of the case, took the blame of brutal crime upon himself and said that he had raped his own daughter and impregnated her. But later he broke down before the court and admitted that the child delivered by the rape survivor belonged to Father Robin. This was established by a DNA test which showed that Father Robin’s DNA matched with that of the child delivered by the girl.

The rape survivor used to study at a school where the convict was a teacher. The girl had accused him of raping her several times in 2016. She delivered a baby at the Christu Raj Hospital which is run by the church in Thokkilangadi, Kannur, on February 7, 2017. It was revealed during the investigation that a network of Christian institutions was protecting the accused by covering up the crime to save their own face.

The epidemic of sexual abuse of minors by Christian priests is all too familiar. In November, two Catholic priests were sentenced to 40 years in prison in Argentine for abusing deaf children in a Church-run school.

Apart from the global trend, the country has also been rocked by repeated rapes and other abusive incidents at Churches, as recently Franco Mulakkal, a Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar, was arrested and released on bail later for allegedly raping a 44-year old nun at a guest house in Kuravilangad in May 2014. Similarly, Father Johnson V Mathew, a priest of Malankara Orthodox church was accused in the rape and sexual abuse of a married woman belonging to the fold was arrested in July 2018.

In February last year, the Mysuru police had arrested three pastors (religious leaders associated with protestant Churches) for allegedly raping a teenager in Mangaluru. All the three Christian priests have now been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as per reports.

In another incident, a 60-year-old pastor named Chandra Kumar belonging to a local church in Nagaland was arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

In another incident, a 33-year old Catholic priest, Father Prakash Damor was arrested in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh for abetting a 17-year-old girl’s suicide.

Recently, a special Mahila Court in Cuddalore had sentenced a church priest to 30 years in prison and nine others to life in prison for their involvement in the horrifying 2014 Tittakudi rape case, which involved two minor girls.

Delhi: Acid Factory inside a shop called ‘Deepak Band’ run by one Feroz Khan suspected of supplying acid during the riots

An acid factory was discovered in Shiv Vihar by Republic News Network from where it is speculated that acid was supplied to the riot-hit areas during the anti-Hindu Delhi Riots. The said factory is located in a residential area, right next to a school. The acid factory was inside a shop that had ‘Deepak Band’ written in front of it but the business of supplying chemicals and acid was run by one Feroz Khan, a resident of Yamuna Vihar in Delhi.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFlbk3kX0wY]

A former worker at the factory told Republic that chemicals were supplied to areas such as Mustafabad, Chand Bagh, Karawal Nagar, Yamuna Vihar among others. All these areas were witnessed great violence during the riots. Shockingly enough, Feroz Khan’s father Naeem Khan is said to be a Policeman. The acid was stored in large containers with ‘Gangajal’ written over them. Feroz Khan has allegedly been absconding since then but had visited the factory even after the riots. In the video, a large number of plastic storage tanks can be seen, from several 5000-litre tanks to smaller ones. Almost all of them are labelled with ‘Gangajal’, perhaps alluding to the Hindi movie with the same name where acid is called Gangajal.

“There is a plate of Delhi Police hung outside. He threatens everyone that he is from Police. Feroz Khan threatens whoever comes from MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) to inspect; Feroz Khan threatens them saying that his father is from Delhi Police and has contacts with high profile people,” one local resident said.

Residents of the area had told OpIndia that Muslim women were attacking the Police forces with acid. Petrol bombs and stones were also hurled at Hindus by violent Muslim mobs. We found that the Muslim establishments were unharmed and secure, while the Hindu shops were blown into smithereens. When we asked about the glaring incongruency to a person who was serving tea and snacks to the security forces deployed in the region, he said that the attack had emanated from the same Muslim houses.

Radical Islamist organisation PFI comes in defence of Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain, plays the usual victim card

On Saturday, the radical Islamist organisation, the Popular Front of India (PFI) came out in support of the AAP leader Tahir Hussain and claimed that he had been a victim of “vicious politics”. The PFI has squarely blamed the Centre for the violence in Delhi and also hit out at the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for suspending Tahir Hussain.

The role of Aam Aadmi Party leader Tahir Hussain in the brutal murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) employee Ankit Sharma and also inciting riots in the Delhi has now been under scanner.

Eyewitness accounts have revealed that Ankit Sharma was lynched to death by a Muslim mob. Journalist Rahul Pandita managed to get hold of multiple eyewitnesses who saw the young officer being dragged inside Tahir Hussain’s house by an enraged mob before his dead body was found lying in a drain.

The unruly Muslim mob perched on the top of Hussain’s building wildly flung bricks and petrol bombs at the opposite street, in order to attack a Shiv temple located there. A building adjoining to the temple was burnt down by the rampaging mob. The incessant attack on the temple structure had rendered the entire edifice rickety and tottering, on the verge of collapse. Following the riots, media teams that had visited Tahir Hussain’s house had found stones and bricks, petrol bombs, acid packs etc lying on the roof.

Now, another horrific tale of the Muslim brutality inflicted upon the Hindus from Tahir Hussain’s bungalow has come to the fore. Muslims who lived for years intertwined with Hindu families in Moonga Nagar suddenly started baying for their blood. In one such incident, Muslim residents of the region did not even spare a wedding house whose Hindu women used to address neighbourhood Muslim men as “Bhaijaan” and greet them with a “salam”.

Tahir Hussain has gone missing soon after the FIR was registered against him for his direct involvement in the murder of Ankit Sharma, on the complaint of Ankit’s family. The Delhi police had filed a case against the AAP leader under Section 302(a) Murder, in the Dayalpur police station of Delhi.

Nevertheless, the usual suspects came to his defence to absolve him of any wrongdoing. AAP social media head Ankit Lal shared a video wherein Tahir Hussain claimed that he was rescued by the cops after his house came under seize on February 24. Netizens were quick to point out a February 25 video wherein he was seen wearing the same dress and holding a stick in hand. ‘Eminent intellectual’ Javed Akhtar concluded that the religious identity of Tahir Hussain might have been a factor in the police crackdown against him.

Earlier, a report of UP State Intelligence has revealed the role of Bhim Army and PFI in orchestrating simultaneous violence in Aligarh and Delhi.

Sonia Gandhi’s love for son Rahul Gandhi may be the thorn in daughter Priyanka’s Rajya Sabha journey

In a decision which could create few more tremors in an already devastated party – Congress, Sonia Gandhi is unlikely to accept her daughter and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s bid to get elected to Rajya Sabha. This move may threaten her son Rahul Gandhi’s political ambitions, reports Sunday Guardian.

Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the party, reportedly has strong reservations regarding her daughter and AICC general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s entry into the Rajya Sabha.

The election process for the Rajya Sabha is slated to commence next week and on its present strength, the Congress can readily obtain at least 10 seats from various states. However, it is almost certain that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will not be making her Parliamentary debut. Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has already left the country clearing the final list which does not mention her daughter.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath had offered Priyanka a safe berth to the Upper House out of the two seats that the Congress can comfortably win from the state. However, Sonia Gandhi was not too enthusiastic about the proposal.

Reportedly, Sonia Gandhi believes that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s entry into Parliament will undermine Rahul Gandhi’s overall position as most Congress leaders would prefer her over her brother in terms of leading the party. Citing sources, Sunday Guardian reported that during the past two days, Sonia and Priyanka had a detailed discussion on the subject, and Sonia Gandhi has categorically denied any chance to Priyanka Vadra to surpass her brother by getting elected to Rajya Sabha.

Reportedly, Priyanka Vadra has made a strong appeal to her mother to reconsider her decision. She informed her that she was being made a sacrificial goat by assigning her the toughest state of Uttar Pradesh, where the outcome in 2022 Assembly polls was hardly expected to tilt in the favour of the Congress and urged that she should at least be made a member of the Rajya Sabha.

According to Priyanka Gandhi, her election to Rajya Sabha would also ensure that she will have an official accommodation in the capital. Currently, she continues to live in the Lodhi Road government accommodation despite removal of SPG cover. To make her case stronger, she has reportedly talked to senior Congress leaders to put in a good word for herself to her mother. However, these leaders are reluctant to speak up as Sonia may see it as interference and an attempt to divide the family.

Other than Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, there are various other Congress leaders who are top contenders for the Rajya Sabha seat. Many among these are also the ones who lost last 2019 Lok Sabha polls, like Digvijaya Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Randeep Surjewala amongst others. Meanwhile, 92-year-old Motilal Vohra, the senior-most living and active Congress leader, is also hopeful of getting another term from Chhattisgarh.

Delhi anti-Hindu riots: Netizens question why Barkha Dutt hasn’t yet visited the families of deceased cop Ratan Lal and slaim IB constable Ankit Sharma

Controversial journalist Barkha Dutt has been reporting on the anti-Hindu Delhi riots that have ravaged the lives of people in national capital. Unfortunately enough, her coverage appears to be biased against the Hindu community and appears to go out of its way to preach ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’ instead of focusing on facts on the ground.

Barkha Dutt’s tweet about Faizan

Barkha Dutt appears to have focused primarily on Muslim victims of the riots and has thus far predominantly ignored the Hindu victims of the said riots, thereby giving people the impression that it was an ‘anti-Muslim pogrom’ despite the fact that it was not.

Barkha Dutt’s tweet

Given Barkha Dutt’s past record, netizens began to question her why hadn’t she yet visited the families of Ratan Lal, a head constable of Delhi Police who lost his life, and Ankit Sharma, the slain Intelligence Bureau official.

Some even pointed it out to her the brutality with which IB official Ankit Sharma was killed.

Others accused her of propagandizing the riots.

People also asked her to cover the tragic murder of Ankit Sharma if she found the time. Ankit Sharma was murdered brutally with over 400 stab wounds on his body. Forensic doctors said that they hadn’t ever seen a body mutilated this badly.

Despite the requests from people on social media, Barkha Dutt hasn’t yet covered the murders of Ratan Lal and Ankit Sharma or the plight of their families. There has been a dedicated effort to whitewash the crimes of the Muslim mobs and paint the communal riots as an ‘anti-Muslim pogrom’ while ignoring the massive damage to Hindu property and the terrible loss of Hindu lives.

Hindu victims have revealed that their shops were burnt down because they had Hindu imagery and they have also said that the frenzied Muslim mob had resorted to such an extent of violence that she had to throw her kids from the terrace as their neighbours stood below to catch the children. However, their plight hasn’t been covered by the mainstream media.

After Ravish Kumar changed Mohammad Shahrukh to Anurag Mishra, the Hindu man has started receiving threats

Days after controversial ‘journalist’ Ravish Kumar spread misinformation stating that the February 24 shooter who fired at Delhi Police personnel was not Mohammad Shahrukh but a Hindu man named ‘Anurag Mishra’, the victim of the Ravish’s fake campaign – Anurag Mishra has been receiving a lot of threats.

According to the reports, Anurag Mishra, who was wrongly attributed to be the shooter by NDTV’s Ravish Kumar in place of the accused Shahrukh, has been facing a lot of threats ever since ‘journalist’ revealed his identity.

Anurag Mishra, who currently resides in Varanasi, has now sought protection from the police after receiving a series of life threats following Ravish Kumar’s conspiracy to blame a Hindu for a crime of a Muslim. Mishra claimed that after his identity was revealed by the NDTV journalist, people mistook him for rioter Shahrukh and started abusing him.

Anurag, who originally hails from Dadar-Nagar Haveli, has visited Delhi only once in his entire life. Anurag said that most of his time is spent in Mumbai due to his involvement with acting. However, he said he is now scared of the threats he has been receiving. He added that his family is also frightened.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Singh, SP of Varanasi said that they have received Anurag Mishra’s complaint and investigation have begun. Based on this, further action will be taken, he added.

On February 26, Ravish Kumar in his show falsely identified Mohammad Shahrukh, the shooter who had shot 8 bullets in the air during the anti-Hindu riots, as a Hindu named ‘Anurag Mishra’. By indulging in false propaganda, Ravish Kumar had claimed that police had said the shooter’s name was Shahrukh but if someone had seen on social media, the shooter was called Anurag Mishra, Ravish had said.

The absolving of crimes by NDTV’s Ravish Kumar, especially crimes in which Muslims are perpetrators was not surprising anyway but Ravish Kumar went a step ahead to claim that shooter was a Hindu “Anurag Mishra”.

The fake news factory NDTV has time and again attempted to shield the Muslim mobs by whitewashing their crimes and rather tried to pin the blame on the Hindus for the anti-Hindu riots in the national capital.

Just yesterday, the left-wing channel NDTV was caught pants down for whitewashing crimes committed by Muslims by cropping images of mosques which had strategically stored stones to attack Hindus during the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi.

On Thursday, the Delhi police released visuals from the riot-hit parts of northeast Delhi which were earlier captured in drone cameras during the anti-Hindu riots. The drone cameras were pressed into service by the police in the violence-affected neighbourhoods of east Delhi.

However, NDTV had resorted to cropping images of the mosque to mislead the people on the real nature of the anti-Hindu riots and tried to hide the images where it can be clearly seen that the local mosques had stored stones to attack the Hindus during the communal riots.

Apart from these false propagandas, the NDTV has been at the forefront of spreading false propaganda concerning the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi, that has caused the death of more than 40 people. The anti-CAA riots which turned communal resulted in Muslim mobs unleashing violence against Hindus, killing lives and damaging properties.
