Jaish-e-Mohammad was to execute the Pulwama attack on Afzal Guru’s death anniversary: Reports

In a startling revelation, ABP News has reported that the Pulwama attack on February 14, which consumed the lives of more than 40 CRPF personnel was initially planned to be executed on the death anniversary of Afzal Guru that falls on February 9.

It was further said that the attack was perpetrated to avenge the death of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s nephew Usman Haider.

As per the report, it is believed that JeM had earlier planned to execute the operation on February 9 which is terrorist Afzal Guru’s death anniversary, or February 11, which is the death anniversary of Maqbool Bhat, the founder of the militant organisation National Liberation Front, but due to heavy snowfall the highway was shut and the attack could not be carried out.

It’s being said that the suicide bomber, Adil Ahmad Dar, who effectuated the car bombing, had gone to the Srinagar-Jammu highway on February 2,6, and 8 as well. Full preparations were in place to execute an attack on February 9, but snowfall prevented it.

There is information that the terrorist group had at least thrice, attempted suicide bombing in the army camp but did not succeed. Eventually, they planned to attack by ramming an explosive-laden vehicle, which has lately become, the freshly adopted methodology for terror attacks in Jammu Kashmir.

The report further states that the terrorist group started outlining the attack soon after Jaish commander, Abdul Ghazi Rasheed, reached Kashmir. He is still suspected to be hidden in the Pulwama’s Tral region.

Last year on October 31, Jaish chief Masood Azhar’s nephew Usman Haider was killed in an encounter by security forces. According to reports, a group of terrorists were tracked to a residential house in Chankitar area of Tral. The terrorists reportedly opened fire at the security forces, leading to an encounter of two terrorists out of whom one was reportedly the second nephew of Azhar.

It is believed that the dastardly Pulwama attack on February 14, was planned to avenge his death.

In a gruesome terrorist attack on the CRPF soldiers in Awantipora in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, 44 CRPF personnel lost their lives. A high-intensity IED blast targeted a convoy of 70 vehicles of the CRPF carrying 2500 personnel which was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar.

‘Pakistan will pay price’ : Iran warns Pakistan after suicide bombing that killed 27 of its soldiers

0

A day before the dastardly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, the Islamic Republic of Iran also witnessed a terrorist attack when an explosive-laden car blew up beside a vehicle transporting elite Revolutionary Guard soldiers. The attack had left 27 dead and 13 injured, sending the country into a state of mourning.

The attack had happened in the south-eastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan province of the country. That part of the country witnesses several terrorist attacks from Sunni terrorist groups, which Iran accuses of being operated by Pakistan and its regional arch-rival Saudi Arabia. The attack’s responsibility was taken by a terrorist organization called Jaish al Adl or Army of Justice, which has been designated a terrorist organization by many countries.

Jaish is one of the largest and most active Sunni organisation targeting government forces in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan-Balochistan. It has always been a source of confrontation between Tehran and Islamabad.  Its declared agenda is to avenge the alleged wrongs that were done to the Sunni population of the region, who are ethnically Baloch, by  Shiite Iranian state post-1979 Islamic revolution. Iran blames Pakistan for acting as the group’s host.

Revolutionary Guards chief Major General Mohammed Ali Jafari has warned Pakistan of serious consequences after the terrorist attack.

“Why do Pakistan’s army and security body … give refuge to these anti-revolutionary groups? Pakistan will no doubt pay a high price,” Jafari said. He also accused the Saudi and the United Arab Emirates regime of supporting Sunni terrorist groups and creating havoc in Iran. Iran being a Shia majority country, is always at loggerheads with the Shia dominated Saudi Arabia. Major General added that UAE and Saudi should know that Iran’s patience has run out, and it will no longer tolerate their “anti-Islam thugs.”

Major General also asked the country’s supreme Hassan Rouhani, to free the hands of its security forces, and to let them take revenge. He was addressing the country live.

Iran had also warned Pakistan in November, last year, after 14 Iranian border guards were abducted by Pakstan based terror organization.

On 16th February, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj made a surprise visit to Iran on her way to Europe and had a meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

“Iran & India suffered from two heinous terrorist attacks in the past few days resulted in big casualties. Today in my meeting with Sushma Swaraj the Indian FM, when she had a stopover in Tehran, we agreed on close cooperation to combat terrorism in the region. Enough is enough!” Seyed Abbas Araghchi had tweeted, after meeting with MEA Sushma Swaraj.

Delhi’s education minister deletes tweet after being educated about electricity supply to Pakistan by Adani

While the Indian government is briskly dissolving its undertakings with Pakistan in the aftermath of the dastardly Pulwama attack, Delhi education minister and deputy CM, Manish Sisodia took to Twitter to peddle fake news about electricity being supplied to Pakistan by the Adani group, which he later deleted after being schooled by the same.

Screenshot of Sisodia’s Tweet dated February 16

As seen above, Sisodia had claimed that while India has almost made imports from Pakistan impossible, why has the Indian government not asked Adani to stop the export of electricity to Pakistan.

The Adani group, soon clarified and strongly condemned the incorrect and the thoughtless assertions made by Sisodia and asked him to withdraw his statement with immediate effect.

Sisodia, without apologising or issuing a clarification, chose to quietly delete the tweet after being called out. However, Sisodia was not the only one to spread the fake narrative.

AAP’s Preeti Sharma Menon solicited the same rumour on Twitter.

The well-established columnist of Hindustan Times, Sujata Anandan, who had once claimed that South Indians don’t celebrate Diwali, and was slammed for the same, was there again, displaying similar ignorance.

Similarly, a Congressi…and not surprisingly, a believer of INC ideologies, Roman D’souza, answering to abusive troll Swati Chaturvedi, asked Adani and Patanjali to stop doing business with Pakistan.

Columnist and someone who refers to himself as ‘brain scientist’ too decided it is time Adani, which does not even export power to Pakistan, should stop exporting the said power.

It is rather appalling and really unfortunate, that in the given situation where India is dealing with such perplexities, the nation, which should be standing together, echoing the same tone of retribution, there are people in the media and politics who are insensitively utilising this situation to build false narratives.

More stories about terrorist and his family than martyrs – what does it tell about the media?

It’s been barely three days since a bloodthirsty monster called Adil Ahmad Dar rammed a vehicle laden with 300 Kgs of explosives into a CRPF convoy and killed over 40 jawans in Pulwama district of Kashmir. All because he hated people ‘who drink urine of cows’, whom he accused of ‘occupying’ his land. His hatred for people following certain beliefs and imagined practices left more than 40 families devastated and an entire nation in grief.

Some of these jawans were about to get married. There was someone waiting for each one of them to come back home to share some happy news. Someone was to hold in his hands a baby for the first time after being a father. Someone maybe wanted to say a sorry in person to his wife for that stupid tiff he had last time when he was home.

As a journalist, there are so many stories, human stories, that you can bring to your readers about these jawans.

Instead, in the last three days, the Indian media, especially the English language media, has been able to bring to you only the human stories about the terrorist Adil Dar.

Stories about how the monster was just an average boy who became a terrorist because someone in the Indian Army had asked him to rub his nose on the ground – an unverified claim by his lying father, who in all probability, like his monster son, also imagines every Hindu drinking urine of cow as first thing in the morning while he sips his Kashmiri kahva.

If you know about a father in Bihar who lost his son in Pulwama attack, but is ready to send another son at the border to teach Pakistan a lesson, it’s not because you read an article about him in one of these English publications, but because you saw it on Twitter or got that video clip or screenshot of a tweet forwarded to your WhatsApp by someone in your social circle.

The English language boutique ‘liberal’ media is just stuck on the terrorist. Each day we are being told some new ‘human’ angle about the monster.

Initial reports in the publications like The Wire and Scroll, which were duly shared by many people from Pakistan, informed us how Adil was just an ordinary guy who wanted to become a maulvi. He also used to take part in stone pelting. This was profile of an ‘average’ next door peaceful Kashmiri boy they painted.

Perhaps they soon realised that this is not something that might be easily palatable to the rest of India, so came the next round of humanising the monster, and this time Congress mouthpiece National Herald took the lead. The terrorist loved watching cricket and was a fan of MS Dhoni, they said.

Dhoni, whom the monster would imagine as gulping urine of cow during drinks breaks, and who flaunts his army uniform due to his honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel, will be the favourite cricketer of someone who sees Indian Army as an occupying force? Well, Rahul Gandhi’s newspapers says so, so must be true as everything Rahul Gandhi says.

Apart from this, interviews and profiles of his family members were plastered over in the English language media. One report in Hindustan Times subtly mentioned how Adil’s mother chanted “religious slogans” when a crowd started gathering in. No mention of what those slogans were, what they signify, and what was the reason for shouting slogans for a crowd. Remember this same crowd finds a “Jai Shri Ram” chant or an “Angry Hanuman” poster a call for violence, but some slogans shouted in presence of a charged-up crowd are just “religious slogans”.

Pictures of his parents were meticulously chosen for publication, where they appear to be in grief, though going by their accounts and beliefs, they appear satisfied that their son did a great job and is currently enjoying in heaven, where the terrorist too believed he was destined to go.

The terrorist and his family are painstakingly being sanitised, their views and deeds whitewashed, even as tears have not dried up for the martyrs.

You’ve to wonder what makes the media behave this way. Why such desperation to give human angle to a monster? This is not for the first time. Remember the tweet by Barkha Dutt, where she intuitively used the phrase “son of poor headmaster” while referring to the terrorist Burhan Wani.

There can only be two reasons for this and both are dangerous – delusion or collusion.

Delusion that they are working for some grand peace project that can be achieved by not hating each other – as I am doing by repeatedly by calling a dead young man as a monster – but by ‘understanding’ each other.

Sorry, I don’t have time. When someone is pelting stones at my house, I will first make sure my windows and doors are strong and locked. I have no plans of asking the stonepelter to add me on WhatsApp where we’d share good morning forwards and win each other’s hearts. In fact, I’d call up the cops and want the bast*rd to be beaten up in lock-up. If any of the journalist thinks that I’m being too hateful, let them allow me to pelt stones at their houses with impunity, and let them also add me on Facebook and WhatsApp where it’s incumbent on them to win my heart. I am open to learn how to love.

But on a serious note, yes, one can go beyond immediate anger and knee-jerk reactions to look at the ‘bigger picture’. I don’t deny that. But understanding terrorism is a long-term project that doesn’t necessarily have to involve humanising a terrorist. Take that up as academic study, not as a mean to showcase your literary creativity by dishing out fiction.

If you want to discuss root causes of terrorism, all for that, but you know that the root causes you like to advertise – poverty, inequity, and blah blah – are all phony and they won’t stand the test of either logic or facts, so you need fiction to propagate those theories. Root cause is primarily an ideology that you for some reason can’t put your fingers on.

People are free to be deluded. Extremely religious or extremely ‘liberal’ people are often deluded. But deluded people setting up narrative through mass media is dangerous. It will make us a deluded nation, which we can’t afford when the enemy is devious and scheming.

If the media persons are not deluded, and this humanising of a terrorist is all rationally thought about, then they are in collusion with Jihadists and Islamists, which is even more dangerous. Do remember that Pakistan’s official Kashmir policy is to use the media to further their agenda.

The possibility of Indian mainstream media filled with Jihad sympathizers is very real and it’s not limited just to journalists in Kashmir. It’s a known fact that many mainstream journalists have been members of Left leaning outfits during their college days. Even someone like N Ram of The Hindu, who doesn’t just have editorial but management control over the newspaper, was the vice-president of the SFI, an outfit linked with CPM and often accused of violence on campuses, during his college days.

The same ideology and cult mindset, which is seen in violent student outfits, gets institutionalized in various media organisations as they get infested with former members of the outfits joining the company. What later manifests in the O’Sullivan’s Law.

Further, the Leftists have aligned themselves with the Islamists globally (except in Islamic countries, where they are butchered regularly if they profess atheist beliefs).

Why the Leftists love to get in bed with Islamists is another issue, and it requires as much a discussion and analysis as why people turn to terrorism, but the truth is that there is an obvious element of collusion. The results are humanising a terrorist who clearly didn’t treat others as humans.

And the worst part is, they are humanising him while shielding his dehumanisation of Hindus. There is virtually no mention of the hatred he had for people ‘who drink cow urine’.

What end objectives are being achieved though this collusion is not hard to guess, and it is very sinister.

There is a need to protect ourselves not only from Adil Dars, but from those who find a Dhoni fan and an innocent teenager in the guy who is the face of ISIS 2.0 – a face that we will unfortunately see more often as an army of media men are ready to put a halo around it.

Congress leader Noor Bano, blames government and security forces for the Pulwama Attack

Former Congress MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur, Noor Bano, during an interaction with the media levelled charges against security forces and accused them of exercising negligence prior to Pulwama terrorist attack. On 14th February, an Islamic terrorist rammed an SUV laden with over 300 kg of explosives into the CRPF bus, taking lives of more than 40 personnel.

The dastardly act has slid the nation into mourning. The Congress leader, amid this, has indulged in political mudslinging, by holding the government and armed forces responsible for the attack. She also said that the Modi government will try to exploit the incident for its gains.

“What happened was unfortunate, and the incident affects all of us. We do not know how BJP will churn out benefits from this incident. They will exploit the incident. It is the responsibility of the armed forces, to protect people. I saw on television, that they had prior information, but then how they failed to avert the attack?” Congress leader Noor Bano was quoted by reports. She added that armed forces and the Home Ministry of India are responsible for the attack.

Noor Bano, is by no means the first Congress leader, to issue such statements amid the mourning that country is witnessing. Congress’ Punjab Cabinet Minster Navjot Singh Siddu had also issued a bizarre statement, inviting outrage. He had issued a clean-chit to Pakistan, by saying that terrorism has no religion and no nationality as well.

“This is a cowardly attack, people responsible for these attacks should be brought to justice. But, taking someone’s life is not a solution. Terrorism has no religion. Terrorism has no caste, party and Terrorism has no country,” Sidhu had said.

Similarly, a Gujarat Congress leader, too, has cast aspersions that the BJP was involved in the Pulwama attack.

Pulwama attack: Government withdraws security cover of Hurriyat leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq

In the light of rising public anger against Kashmiri separatists after the Pulwama attack, the government has decided to revoke the security cover provided to several Kashmiri separatist leaders. According to reports, security cover given to top Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been withdrawn. Others excluded from government security include Abdul Ghani Bhat, Bilal Lone, Hashim Qureshi and Shabir Shah, all prominent separatist leaders.

On 15 February, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had announced in Srinagar that said the security provided to elements having links with terrorists will be reviewed. Referring to Kashmir based separatist activists, the Home Minister had said that “there are some elements here who take money from Pakistan and ISI. I have told the officers that the security provided to such people should be reviewed”. Rajnath Singh had said that separatists are hand in glove with terror organisations, terror forces & ISI across the border. They are involved in terror conspiracies too, he had added significantly.

In the last 10 years, the Jammu and Kashmir government has spent more than ₹10 crore in providing security to the so-called moderate Hurriyat leaders. Separatists who were provided security cover included Aga Syed Hassan Molvi, Molvi Umar Farooq, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Molvi Abbas Ansari, Bilal Gani Lone, Fazal Haq Qureshi, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Saleem Geelani, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Shahid-ul-Islam, Abdul Gani Shah, Aga Syed Abul Hussain, Farooq Ahmad Kichloo and Masroor Abbas Ansari. The money is spent on the salary of policemen and transportation expenses.

After the horrific attack on a CRPF convoy done by Pakistan based Jaish-e-Muhammad, the government of India has undertaken several measures against Pakistan. The most favoured nation status accorded to Pakistan under WTO norms were withdrawn, and then customs duty of 200% was imposed on all imports from Pakistan. Government is working towards isolating Pakistan on the global front, the foreign secretary met envoys of more than 25 countries, including all 5 permanent members of UN security council in the regard. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also made a surprise visit to Tehran on her way to Europe, and there are speculations that India and Iran may launch a joint operation against Pakistan. 27 security personnel were killed in an attack in Iran by Pakistan based terrorists on February 13, for which Iran has promised to take strong action against Pakistan.

Update: Reacting to the news, many people had started questioning why security coverage of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Yasin Malik was not withdrawn. But the fact is that at present there is no government security for these Hurriyat leaders, therefore the question of revoking their security does not arise.

BJP National Secretay Ram Madhav tweeted to inform the same. He also informed that Geelani is under house arrest at present.

BJP government got soldiers killed for electoral gains: Gujarat Congress leader’s controversial remark

Days after Congress supporting abusive troll built the ground for the conspiracy theory that the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama was an inside job, Gujarat Congress leader from Junagadh has parroted similar lines.

While attending a program to pay respects to the martyrs, Junagadh Congress leader cast aspersions that the BJP government was involved in the terror attack. “Whenever there are elections, they(BJP) does something like this. Earlier, Godhra carnage was carried out (before 2002 Gujarat elections) and today, the Pulwama attack is also suspicious. The soldiers are murdered. When Congress comes to power, then we will investigate this.”

Amipara then brazened it out that as a citizen of India he was raising suspicion that whenever elections are around the corner, there are incidents of riots.

He further adds that while such terrorists should be identified and neutralised, somewhere the BJP and Modi will do politics on the bodies of the soldiers. Hence, he has raised his suspicions over BJP’s involvement in Pulwama attack.

While such frivolous statements could be dismissed as conspiracy theories, knowing Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s distasteful attacks on Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and politicising his personal visit to the ailing chief minister to lie about Rafale deal, these should not really be taken lightly.

These cases are not in isolation.

Gujarat Congress leader Bharat Solanki

Gujarat Congress leader Bharat Solanki, while responding to a tweet by controversial journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, had wondered if the Pulwama attack was because the BJP wanted a script for a new movie.

Solanki, however, later deleted his tweet.

The fact that Congress-supporting troll as well as Gujarat Congress leader have raked up 2002 Godhra carnage and tried to create a narrative that the BJP carried out the Pulwama attacks could be more than just a coincidence.

It is indeed unfortunate that the political discourse in India has reached such a low.

Kerala: Priest convicted after two years for raping and impregnating a minor girl

0

Father Robin Vadakkumchery of the Mananthavady diocese who was accused of raping and impregnating 16-year old girl two years ago has been convicted by Thalassery POCSO court. Father Vadakkumchery, who has been sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 3 lakh fine by the court, was the prime accused in the rape case. Six others who were accused in the case have been acquitted by the court.

The six accused who were acquitted included five nuns from the Christu Raj convent and one administrator. They were accused of covering up the incident but were acquitted due to lack of substantial evidence.

This case exposed the ugliness of the power nexus within the Church, when the rape survivor’s father, during the initial stages of the case, took the blame of brutal crime upon himself and said that he had raped his own daughter and impregnated her. But later he broke down before the court and admitted that the child delivered by the rape survivor belonged to Father Robin. This was established by a DNA test which showed that Father Robin’s DNA matched with that of the child delivered by the girl. Not just this, even the rape survivor and her mother were declared hostile witnesses in the case by the judge after they tried to hide the girl’s real age and told the court that she was 18 at the time of the rape. Later the girl’s age was found to be 16 at the time of the crime based on her live birth certificate.

The rape survivor used to study at a school where the convict was a teacher. The girl had accused him of raping her several times in 2016. She delivered a baby at the Christu Raj Hospital which is run by the church in Thokkilangadi, Kannur, on February 7, 2017. It was revealed during the investigation that a network of Christian institutions was protecting the accused by covering up the crime to save their own face.

AgustaWestland Scam: Christian Michel’s bail plea rejected by the Court

0

A Delhi Special court today rejected the bail plea of the alleged middleman Christian Michel in Rs 3,600 crore AgustaWestland scam. “Both the bail applications are dismissed,” said a Bench of Special Judge Arvind Kumar while hearing Michel’s plea.

Michel had contended in his bail plea that he has been in custody since December 4, 2018, in the cases registered by the CBI and the ED and the investigation had to be completed by February 3. The two investigating agencies, on the other hand, had expressed the apprehension before the Special Court that the accused might flee from India if he was granted bail as he has close proximity and influence with highly placed persons. The agencies had contended that the alleged middleman has “no roots in India and his past conduct makes, amply clear that there exists a reasonable apprehension of him evading the process of law”.

Highlighting the possibility that the alleged VVIP Chopper Scam middleman might tamper with the evidence in the current case, the agencies said that he has “closely linked to certain influential people and there exists a reasonable apprehension of the applicant tamper with the evidence of the instant case”.

Michel was extradited to India form the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on December 4, 2018.

Pulwama attack: Foreseeing strong and fast reaction from India, Pakistan relocates its terrorists nearer to Pak army camps

Anticipating quick and forceful retaliation from India for the cowardly Pulwama attack, which consumed lives of over 40 CRPF soldiers on February 14, Pakistan has reportedly relocated its terrorists from launch pads in the Line of Control to army camps that are usually near to such facilities.

With Modi government strongly stating that the Indian armed forces have been given a free hand to respond to the Jaish-e-Mohammad attack on the CRPF convoy, Pakistan fearing another surgical strike seems to have taken such precautionary measures as reported by the Times of India.

Despite the situation being grim, there has not yet been any artillery movement along the frontier said few top intelligence officers to TOI. “As of today, we don’t have any targets to strike at across the Line of Control, where terrorists used to be ready to be launched to infiltrate into this side,” reports the TOI.

This could leave the Indian Army with the option of targeting Pakistan army installations and could mean a possible escalation of the conflict, a senior official said.

As per the report, the estimation that Pakistan is anticipating a retaliation form India for the ghastly act carried out by them could be made by the fact that Pakistan did not vacate its winter post along the frontier this year.

As many as 50 to 60 winter posts which are usually vacated every year remain occupied as of now as per the report. This has made it difficult to gauge the strength of the Pakistani army since they may be joined by the terror camps.

In a gruesome terrorist attack on the CRPF soldiers in Awantipora in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives. A high-intensity IED blast targeted a convoy of 70 vehicles of the CRPF carrying 2500 personnel which was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar. Pakistan backed terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad had claimed the responsibility of the cowardly attack.

Speaking in the aftermath of the horrible terrorist attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised vengeance. Narendra Modi stated that full freedom has been given to our armed forces to exact revenge from Pakistan.

The cowardly act left the Nation trembling in anguish and infuriation. Acting swiftly India not only withdrew the MNF status from Pakistan, but basic customs duty on all goods exported from Pakistan to India has also been increased to 200% with immediate effect, tweeted Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, last night.

Pakistan would soon have to pay a colossal price for this audacious misconduct, which has left India brimming in disgust and extreme rage.
