UAPA accused Kalita had requested the Delhi High Court to direct the Delhi Police to preserve and reconstruct the case diaries, alleging that the police had tampered with them.

The Delhi HC dismissed the bail pleas of Jamia leaders Shifa-ur-Rehman and Meeran Haider in the 2020 Delhi anti-Hindu riots conspiracy case.

The High Court said that the accused took part in various meetings wherein they conspired to perpetuate violence against the policemen and non-Muslims.

Gulfisha Fatima was involved in the conspiratorial meeting on 23/24.01.2020 at the Seelampur and Jafrabad protest site among others like Umar Khalid and Pinjra Tod members. Gulfisha Fatim had created two Whatsapp groups called Warrior and Aurton Ka Inquilab. These groups were created on 26/12/2019.

While refusing bail, the court noted that Khalid and Imam allegedly created WhatsApp groups, spread pamphlets and delivered provocative speeches, finding prima facie material to suggest their central role in planning the Delhi riots conspiracy.

On 1st April, several media houses falsely reported that a Delhi court has ordered registration of FIR against Kapil Mishra in the 2020 Delhi riots case, but actually further probe was ordered

In 2015, Business Standard reported that Sachin Rao was a part of Rahul Gandhi's 2.0 team, reiterating that he was handpicked by Gandhi himself. Rao was a part of the DPSG group from the 29th of December 2019 up until the 12th of March 2020 - when he was removed by the admins of the group.

The prosecution argued that the acts of accused Shahnawaz and other rioters setting the godown ablaze with Dilbar Negi inside it, leading to his death, attracted the conviction of the accused under Section 302/436/450 IPC.

Kapil Mishra was maligned by political parties, the rioters and their ecosystem for anti-Hindu Delhi riots.
