Bhagwa Love Trap

The attempt to give a communal spin to an incident where both the victim and the perpetrator hail from the same Faith is part of the larger ploy to mainstream the 'Bhagwa Love Trap (BLT)' conspiracy theory.

One Muslim man was seen slapping the underage girl multiple times. Another man took away her phone while she tried to call her brother. A third Muslim man alleged that the victim bought a 'gift' for the 'Hindu man'.

Swara Bhaskar is known for mouthing platitudes about 'feminism' and women's empowerment. Yet she chose to meet a radical Maulvi, who is opposed to sending girls to schools and colleges.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the unidentified accused under sections 126 (2), 74 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

“The Inspector in Charge of Kotwali, Bareilly has been directed to investigate and take necessary legal action,” Bareilly Police said.

As seen in the viral video, the Muslim attackers slapped the Hindu man and the Muslim woman while one of the accused is heard saying “Tumko sharam nahi aa rahi, Musalmaan ka naam kharab karne… [Are you not ashamed to ruin the name of Muslims]”

The incident unfolded on 24th April after the farewell party in the Sociology Department of Shibli College. Four to five persons thrashed Ashutosh Maheshwari over a maliciously shot video.

When the news of the attack spread, members of the Hindu community gathered outside the hospital and demanded justice for Umesh. They also sought the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
