The court said that the prosecution failed to prove the case against the accused and was based solely on circumstantial evidence which could not be established to prove the accused guilty.
The victim is a resident of Garh Panthak in Palanpur. Hailing from a very poor family, she was helping her family financially by working in a catering service where she served food.
"These five life sentences will run concurrently," read the court judgment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7,20,000 on Alam, a migrant labourer hailing from Bihar.
