The AAP supremo was granted bail in the case filed by the ED. However, he is in custody in connection to the case filed by the CBI. As such, Arvind Kejriwal will continue to remain in jail.

The apex court refused to go into the merits of the case and informed that the AAP leader could file bail petition afresh.

Arvind Kejriwal compared himself with the freedom fighters, specifically with Sardar Bhagat Singh and said being “son of Bhagat Singh” it is an honour for him to go to jail to save the country. He quoted Bhagat Singh saying that the revolutionary had said it was essential to go to jail against a dictator and he (Kejriwal) was doing the same.

After the Supreme Court refused to extend the conditional interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal, a Delhi court today refused him immediate relief in an interim bail plea.

Coming as a major setback, Arvind Kejriwal will have to surrender before jail authorities on June 2

Asked about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's allegation that PM Modi decides who will go to jail, the PM said, "It would be better if these people read the Constitution, read the law of the country, I do not need to say anything to anyone".

Manish Sisodia has been in custody since February 26, 2023, after arrest by the CBI. Thereafter, he was arrested by the ED. Sisodia resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28, 2023.

Former Punjab CM and Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi said that a big liquor scam happened in Delhi and that Kejriwal cannot be trusted.

Notably, this is not the first time that Anna Hazare has attacked Arvind Kejriwal.
