In Gurugram, there are dozens of mosques. So why are roads and parks still being jammed for namaz?

In about a minute and a half long video, one can see some burqa clad women and some men offering the Islamic prayer, namaz, on the garden near the lake in Ahmedabad. The video has been making round on social media since past few days.

Rven though Muslims had assembled at the spot in Gurugram sector 12A as per routine, they could not offer Namaz as it was covered with cow dung

The locals had risen in protest against members of Muslim community occupying public spaces every Friday to offer Namaz and thereby blocking roads. 

Gurugram administration has withdrawn its earlier decision of allowing Namaz in eight public places.

Local Muslims in Gurugram want the Namaz in public places to end as they believe it is vitiating the communal atmosphere in the area.

The Haryana Police have been deployed 500 of its personnel in Gurugram to help Muslims offer Namaz in public places on Friday.

A video has surfaced online wherein people in sector 12 in Gurugram are seen protesting against Namaz being conducted in the open

On Friday (October 15) afternoon around 100 people carrying placards, singing bhajan and raising slogans came to the ground.

In the wake of the ongoing protests against public offering of Namaz in the Gurugram, the Hindu women of the area joined the protest.
