Jaishankar said the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met on 1st March under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to assess the situation.
In its statement, Ministry of External Affairs said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had discussed this matter with his Iranian counterpart yesterday and conveyed the deep concern of the international community at the turn of events.
Sharing the stage with the state's intellectuals and professionals for an interaction on his book 'Why Bharat Matters', Jaishankar said some people in Canada, with 'pro-Pakistan leanings', have organised themselves politically and taken the shape of an influential political lobby.
Recalling the vandalism incident on the Indian High Commission in the UK by Khalistani elements, he said that the mission didn't get the protection New Delhi had expected.
