A proposed free trade agreement with the five-member EAEU is to increase market access for Indian exporters.

The US has sanctioned six Indian firms for buying Iranian petrochemicals, triggering sharp reactions from India.

In its statement, Ministry of External Affairs said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had discussed this matter with his Iranian counterpart yesterday and conveyed the deep concern of the international community at the turn of events.

Jaishankar stressed that "They (West) actually think they are part of our electorate".

EAM Jaishankar emphasised that in India now the mood is not to overlook terrorists.

Recalling the vandalism incident on the Indian High Commission in the UK by Khalistani elements, he said that the mission didn't get the protection New Delhi had expected.
